This place is definitely a little hole in the wall, but don't let it fool you. Even though it's tucked downtowns corner-- this spot has some hits. The fried chicken sliders were impeccable with an explosion of flavors and texture. The Feta dip is probably one of the best I've ever tried. You could tell this place used local, quality and organic ingredients . Antoine was great and brought high spirits. Definitely a little pricey and in the higher end of a cocktail lounge, but definitely worth the experience. read more

We had a great dinner at Party Downtown last night. The oysters were excellent and at 2 for 5 at $5 before 5pm, it was a deal. Our entrees were good, the cheese in the Fon-Gouda was not smooth like previously had. I ordered it again this visit because it was so good previously but wasn't as good this time. Could I give them more than 5 stars? What an amazing meal! We started with a dozen oysters (4 each of 3 types) which were fresh and yummy! Easily the best meal I have had in Eugene. A classy restaurant with actual table service and a romantic atmosphere is hard to come by in this town, but Party Bar delivers. No QR codes, no electronic tellers, no serving yourself. The wait staff are great, knowledgeable, and fun. We went on Valentine's Day, and even with the place absolutely buzzing, the servers and kitchen did not skip a beat. I could tell they may have been understaffed based on how many tables our server was working (including the host stand), and yet, we had an absolutely lovely time. I wish I remembered her name but major kudos to her for the lovely service and not showing any stress on the busiest of nights. We had to wait just a tad long for drinks, but it did not bother us much. The menu is incredible and enticing. I'm from NOLA and I recognized the authentic influence from a mile away. Many dishes tasted like home to me, especially the cabbage rolls and cornbread. The duck cassoulet was stunning. And another standout fave was the kale salad - perfect crunch and freshness that we needed to cut through some of our richer dishes. We finished off the meal with bananas foster basque cheesecake. As a NOLA native, bananas foster is my entire childhood - it immediately brought back memories of my dad and I making and serving hundreds together for our local church community. Definitely a meal that made me homesick! The wine list is wonderful, one of the best we have seen in the area. Cocktails were also lovely, and I especially appreciated the long mocktail list! I really want to love this place and at times I flat out have. Eugene so badly needs classy, high end places that aren't stupidly pretentious and this is probably as close as it gets. The oysters are very good, the wine is good/very good (but definitely NOT great) but the booze and beer selection is middling. Last time there I added pimento to my burger not realizing it was a $4 add on. A lumpy clump of it fell on my plate while I was eating the burger, almost like the texture of sausage gravy, it was honestly kind of gross. I mentioned this to the bartender who still charged me $4 for it. Sorry, that's an outrageous upcharge for something you're not going to make sure you can execute. The burger otherwise is very, very good they nail the cook on it. The service is typically excellent. Another note, I tried to give them feedback on the taplist, recommending they add a very good hazy/NE IPA and referenced Pfriem as something NOT to settle on, not knowing they serve it? The manager seemed to get a little bit sensitive about this pointing out that that "it's a top seller" - I'm sorry but that doesn't mean it's good. It's probably more of a function of it being the only hazy you have on tap. read more

Party Bar totally lived up to the hype. When my wife and I moved here from southern CA a couple years, we were looking for awesome food. Some friends said that Party Bar might have the best food in Eugene/Springfield. We weren't sure what the competition was at that point, but we've since tried out a number of other higher tier establishments in the area. If Party Bar isn't the best food we've had (there are a couple other places that also create some superb eats), it's definitely in the top 3 for us. It was super easy to make a reservation using Tock, and we locked in a patio table because the evenings have been beautiful. Wait staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful even though we could tell that they were pretty busy. We decided that we were going to sample a bunch of appetizers and sides rather than going for the entrees. I was hesitant because I have a pretty large appetite, but we both left plenty full. We got the pickle plate, the buffalo smoked jojos, the albacore tostada, the green goddess salad, and Mac & cheese. I also got a hard root beer because why not? The flavors of each dish were so complex, and each bite was similar yet distinct. We agreed that we could just keep eating because each bite as filled with so much nuance. Lastly, I think that what sets Party Bar apart from the other top restaurants in Eugene (IMO) is the value. Without the drinks, we spent about $50 on an excellent meal. Adding in a cocktail and a glass of wine, our total came out to $75 before tip. That's insane for the quality of food. To be sure, there are definitely items on the menu that would let us rack up the bill, but most of their food felt almost underpriced. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

I love this spot and I'm back again. 5 star experience once again. Great service. Fast turnaround from the kitchen. I tried one of each of the available fresh oysters, and I ended up ordering 4 more Virginicas. Sooooo buttery and delicious. The burger and the squash fondue were outstanding. My friend got the chicken slider and ordered a second one because he liked it so much. I also got the deviled eggs which were solid. I don't like to drink, but I love their nonalcoholic rosé. The wait staff was attentive but also left you alone and communicated that our drinks would take some time. My drink was on the strong side but a nice old fashioned. We were required to pay $10 a person to make a reservation , which is understandable, however for paying the Premium fee to reserve we were given very slow and unresponsive service; It took about 30 minutes to receive our drinks after ordering them. Aside from that, we were served by every single member of the wait staff which probably contributed to the slow service as no one member knew when we were last helped. The flavor or the food was great and everything came out very hot so that was the consolation I suppose. We had dinner here last week. We started with Negroni's which were delicious! We had Burrata salad and Mac and Cheese. Our main was a Po Boy with Dungeness Crab. The Salad and Mac and Cheese were delicious! The Po Boy was not great! Partly our fault as we aren't that keen on fried food and there was more roll than crab cake! The bartender was pushing it like it was unbelievable but it wasn't and I believe it was the most expensive item on the menu. One of our favorite date night spots in town, Party Bar never disappoints. Their cocktail program is always creative and there is something for every palette. This time I enjoyed the Tiger's which was a perfect blend of warm flavors like vanilla with a bit of smokiness from the scotch. Their deviled eggs are always perfection and I definitely recommend adding the crispy chicken skin. Their fried chicken slider is always a tasty bit. Quite a selection of oysters, we enjoyed the Shigoku this time, sweet and not too large. We tried the gnocchi tots, which were fun and different, I especially loved the white BBQ sauce that was like a combo of ranch and BBQ. For our main dishes we got the lamb meatloaf sandwich and the pimento focaccia grilled cheese. The lamb is one of our favorite dishes there, it's consistently a standout part of the meal. The grilled cheese was just ok. I've had a lot of pimento cheese in my life so I was excited to see it on a menu. But the bread was overly buttered and there was a lot of non-pimento cheese that took away from the dish. It was a nice thick bread, but the focaccia component didn't really come through. For dessert we got a mini honey pie and the mini donut bites with passion fruit curd. The curd was excellent and really brought bright flavor to the dish but the donut were way over fried and had a savory corndog taste. The mini pie was excellent though and rich salty honey flavor, it was a unique variation on a chess pie. I've been wanting to try Party Bar for a while now after seeing it on Yelp and reading their great reviews. I called in a takeout order and they were super friendly and accommodating over the phone. The food was ready to go once I got there. It is a bit tricky to find parking around this area especially on weekends. Something to note. The inside was cute, but pretty dark. I was really excited about the cornbread and it smelled delicious. Unfortunately it wasn't my favorite and didn't have a sweet taste that traditional cornbread has. It was also 7$ for a very small portion. If you like a more savory bread than you may like this but otherwise I would skip it. The kale salad I got was delicious though. The dressing was amazing and I really like how they used breadcrumbs instead of croutons. Overall, this spot was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here and it is on the pricier side. read more

We were recently (Feb. '23) visiting Eugene for the first time and ended up at Party Bar on the recommendation of friends. Mark, the owner, greeted us reservation-less folks on a busy Friday from behind the bar near the front of the restaurant (where he was multi-tasking to an impressive degree: shucking oysters, taking care of bar customers, recommending and serving wine). He and chef-wife Tiffany had us seated at a table in less than 15 fifteen minutes and--assisted by their kitchen and floor staffs--proceeded to blow our minds. The combination of menu quality/creativity, beverage and wine options, and ambiance in this Eugene eating place is extraordinary. (Make sure not to miss Party Market & Wine in the back of the restaurant, and with a separate entrance: a fantastic wine shop full of unique European and Oregon bottles. Mark's Saturday afternoon wine tasting we went back for just added to the whole experience.) Needless to say, we can't wait to return to Party Bar the next time we're in town. Everything here was phenomenal! I was shocked this place wasn't packed and equally shocked to realize how many times I've walked past this place without realizing it existed! We started with the house sparkling and house red wine. Both tasted amazing. They had a nice selection of oysters - 5 different kinds. We tried the summer stone, blue pool, kusshi, and oishi (they were out of the Kumamoto). The oysters were extremely fresh! I also loved the habanero hot sauce to pair with them. Then we got the deviled eggs with smoked salmon pastrami, honey melon salad and albacore tuna tostada as starters. Everything tasted so good! I loved the textures and flavor profiles in the salad and the aioli that came on the tostada. For the main course I got the fried chicken plate and I was not disappointed! The chicken was cooked to perfection. Extra crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. The macaroni with breadcrumbs was amazing, my only complaint is I wanted so much more (I'm a macaroni fiend)! It's that's good, just a wonderful plate overall. Then we finished with the donuts and basque cheesecake. The cheesecake texture was very soft and fluffy! The passion fruit, strawberry and roasted hazelnuts gave it a unique flavor. The donuts were fried little balls that came with passionfruit curd and raspberry jam. The presentation of everything was great. The ingredients were top notch. The vibe of the restaurant was laid back, but staff was still ultra attentive. I liked the array of plants they had displayed in addition to the twinkle lights. It created a nice intimate setting. This place is amazing. It's hard to find a restaurant where the owners really care about where every single ingredient is sourced. Where almost every item on the menu is hand made in house, we're talking sauces, breads, sausages, pickles, etc. the drink and wine menu is off the charts good. The ambiance and general vibe are great too. But let's get back to the food. Best burger in Eugene hands down, locally grown beef on a house made brioche bun. Add bacon and pimento cheese... yes please! Part of the menu is truly seasonal. I've been to party bar a lot over the ten years or so that they've been open (it started as a cart) and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal here. Party Bar???? Not sure how this place got it's name, but there definitely wasn't a party vibe nor a party in my mouth after finishing dinner. No partying was found in any form whatsoever. First off the place is small and gets pretty crowded. We sat at a table against the wall and were in pretty close proximity to our neighbors. The server took forever to take our order and then we NEVER saw her again. A couple other people ended up bringing out our food and drinks (which also took a long time). We had hot toddies, which were good and they came in a cute little mug. The food on the other hand was so disappointing. The shrimp plate came out with no presentation. It reminded me of something you would get at a diner in the 1970's. It contained around five shrimp and some of them were not completely deveined. So gross!!! I love cleaning out shrimp poop during my meal. The black garlic bread was almost inedible. I'm not sure how you can mess up bread & garlic, which are two of my favorite things. It was utterly bland and dry. So basically the food and service sucked. The atmosphere and decor is meh. I'd keep walking past this place when visiting downtown. read more

This place was despicable and disheartening. I will never attend such establishment again. In fact, when I ordered my food (mufaletta is what I ordered) I asked for no mortadella, but was promptly told that it was not possible to remove the meat. The reasoning? The sandwich was premade. My waiter reassured me that the sandwich is far better when it is rapped up and sitting for a few days. Furthermore, I received my food, 5 minuets after my dining companion. FOR PREMADE FOOD?
