    Steak diane

Just spectacular. The food here is quality. Every bite full of flavor and full of love. The desert platter is impressive. The ambiance and service are enjoyable. I liked seeing local art on the walls. The front room seems a little more casual, and the back room a little more upscale. The bar area is small. In the past I have come for apps and cocktails and the flaming coffee drink looks really good! The cocktails are very unique and tasty. The wine list is simple with a great selection. It was fun seeing the owner in the dining room preparing the steak Diane to order. This is definitely a date night worthy restaurant. Definitely worth the buck you pay.

Menu online prices do not match in person. $7 dollar dessert (small slice of cake) from a 3star sounds fare but 10$ nope.... Not cool get the ol bait and switch. Manager did nothing but say it should have been changed our mistake. Just hope they revised by now....

Just had some friends in town and decided it had been too long. What a great evening at Cafe Soriah! Service here is outstanding starting when trying to get a reservation right through desserts. My wife called and received a prompt call back and was able to take care of us with last minute notice. The meal started with calamari and Caesar salad with some really nice cocktails. Chef Ib was indeed at the table side preparing steak Diane that was incredible! Our waiter was spot on just made the whole experience better. The outside patio was perfect on this 80' Eugene day.

    Baby Trio (Hummus appetizer)

One of the only places in Eugene where I feel like I need to dress up, in a good way. We especially enjoyed the hummus appetizer (baby trio) and drinks. The entrees were solid, but a little spendy. Next time, we might just do drinks and small plates.

    Awesome margarita!

One of those places that withstands the test of time. Classic Mediterranean dishes with a NW flair. However they are famous for their margarita which was really good. My mom and I shared the Baby Trio with baba ganoush which had tons of flavor, hummus that was super smooth, fresh dolmades and pickled vegetables. We also shared the Lamb Tagine that was delicious. Full of spices and cooked until it was melt in your mouth texture. The only thing I didn't entirely love was the side of vegetables. They were fine but paled somewhat in comparison to everything else. Nice wine and cocktail list and a comfortable bar.

Great experience top to bottom. I wish I had taken more pictures. I would describe the menu as pan-Mediterranean fusion, but in this instance I don't use "fusion" as a pejorative. Rather, these are Middle Eastern flavors optimized for the Western palette. We had dinner with my in laws. We started off with calamari and a baked feta dish. The appetizers were solid, but I wouldn't call them innovative. The main course was a different story. My curried prawns were a balanced mix of curry flavor, tomato, and savory mushrooms. My wife's mushroom goulash had a stroganoff texture but was heavy on dill flavor, served over tagliatelle. Father in law's lamb tagine was excellent, cinnamon and raisin, tender lamb chunks. Wasn't crazy about mother in law's curried eggplant. I'm usually don't pay too much attention to the dessert menu, but this is where our dinner really passed into 5-stars territory. I love how they bring around a tray with all the desserts available so that you can visualize your sweet treat. The rice pudding was one of the best desserts I've ever had in a restaurant. Cardamom, orange zest, pistachios crumbled on top, served chilled. The pecan pie was great, as was the sponge cake with cardamom and syrup. All in all, this has been my favorite Eugene meal so far. From what I understand their menu changes often with lots of specials. I'd definitely come back.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

I also got their colcannon. It was great! Creamy and delicious. I ordered their brown gravy too because I like gravy with my potatoes and it was hearty and a big side for the price. All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!

The new public house is pretty much behind their original spot, overlooking Coburg Road. We sat in a booth with very tall walls that felt very private but I don't feel like I could tell you the vibe of the rest of the restaurant. Since I was sitting in the back of the booth, I could only see two other tables that were along the windows and the traffic going by in the dark. Next time we'll ask not to sit in a booth so we can see more of the restaurant. Our server informed us that the public house was split into two sections. We were in the full-service restaurant part and there was a more casual (order at the counter?) section by the front door for people that just wanted to grab a beer and sit at a communal table. Our server was excellent. Not the typical Eugene service from him! He answered our questions about the beers and brought us tastes and had all the answers ready about the food. They were out of two things (understandable at such a new spot) but I noticed that they had already changed their menu a few times in the few short weeks they've been opened. Yay for seasonal menus!! Our party went super basic and we all ordered the Butter Burger (the butter is mixed into the patty so it helps the burger caramelize) which came with fries. We also split the grilled potato salad(served chilled), which was a good sized portion to split with our group of five. My kiddo got the wings (sauceless) and fries. We'll be back to try more of the menu items and sit at a table without walls.

The beer I tried Minute After Midnight was very good and thoroughly enjoyable. Now for the downside. The food. The Butter Burger resembles a regular McDonald's hamburger, the patty is grossly over seasoned and completely unenjoyable. As shown in the picture the bun was burned on the inside and the outside. It was very unpalatable. The Pretzel was large and warmed through nicely however the overall quality of the pretzel was that of a common bulk discount store. They placed four very small slivers of cheese on it that did very little to improve the flavor and appearance of the pretzel. That being said the mustard dipping sauce was very good. The French fries were spot on and very enjoyable particularly with the garlic aïoli that was served with the unimpressive hamburger. And finally let's get to the Delicata squash , unfortunately I will spend the rest of my life trying to remove the taste of that culinary disaster from my taste buds. The appearance of the dish is a complete disaster the aroma is as repulsive as wondering into a public bathroom shortly after someone spent far too long blowing up the toilet. I made the mistake of tasting it, that left a mark. The texture was the best thing about the dish with as poor as the texture was. The flavor was so putrid that I had to spit it into a napkin. It was a totally unpleasant experience. The ambience was warm and inviting. It would've helped if they had a section where kids could be, so the noise does not bother the customers that went to an adult location like a taproom to enjoy an adult beverage. I do believe this establishment does potential. The servers are amazing and the beer I tried was excellent. They do however need to fire whoever has created the menu and the recipes. The food is truly a crime against humanity. I truly hope they can get the quality of the food under control. I would be willing to give them another try if in fact the menu and food is corrected.

A Beer Club has been on recent lists of best beers bars in the country. From the outside it seems like just another bar in a commercial plaza, windows and bright lit beer signs in the windows. But inside it was quick to see why this place is special. To the left are fridges filled with amazing bottles and cans from mostly local breweries. The selections here are special ones, not what you can find from these breweries in a normal grocery store. There's even one door blacked out that's for members of the club, a curated selection of even more amazing things. The interior is bright and well lit, with the walls covered in bottles collected over the years. The bartender George was friendly and welcoming to my group; their tap list is also fantastic so we were able to pick and choose whatever we wanted in flight sizes. There was another employee that explained their beer selection and showed us a phone book sized binder filled with more selections! The special treat was the two gentlemen at the bar trying special bottles, who gave us the generous leftovers to enjoy and taste. I could see this place easily being a usual haunt if I lived nearby. If you're a beer fan in Eugene, this is a must-visit stop!
