Went Ford dinner clam chowder night and I was shocked how awful it was, very fishy, no potatoes the cook must not feel good because I offered $100 to my waiter for the recipe and he flat refused but I took 2 bites tonight and almost puked. I got a fish sandwich, which I get alot but tonight there was some weird thing in it that I couldn't bit through. The waitress was too worried about her husband and 4 kids to help the packed restaurant and hungry customers. I'm so very disappointed. read more

Decided on a whim to meet co-workers here after work on a Thursday evening. It was a fun place, restaurant on one side and bar on the other. Co-workers had fun and had a good selection of drinks and food. Everyone was super friendly. If you're looking for a fun place and enjoy getting to know people this is the place. It's a ways out of Eugene/Springfield but it's worth the drive. Especially for the change of scenery and people. read more

It's a homey little cafe-style mom and pop restaurant with a full bar on the other side. Mama and I had an appetizer and shared a burger and fries. Plenty of food. We had 2 Bloody Mary's each. The BM mix is good... flavorful... not too thick... we liked it. The pour was average (nothing generous) but, the price was average, as well. I'd try it again... order something completely different. I ordered my biscuits and gravy for pick up and they said it would be 15 minutes. Their online menu said a Full Order was $6.50 and a half was $4.25. I was charged $10.50 for a full and was told it will be a little longer. I proceeded to wait a total of 45 minutes for just an order of biscuits and gravy. When I got home to eat it they gave me a half order and the biscuits tasted expired and undercooked. I will never be going back again and you should take your business to a professional place and not a podunk watering hole. read more

My husband and I found the Marcola Roadhouse on YELP and took the beautiful drive down Marcola Road to check it out. The beer was icy cold and reasonably priced. Our sweet bartender Julie brought me a sample of the delicious soup of the day, Beef and Rice (which I ended up ordering later...I'll explain) I'm one of those nuts who never orders anything as it is on the menu, Julie didn't blink and eye and got my order perfect! The staff and the regulars were so friendly we ended up spending the better part of the day there! For breakfast I had the biscuits and sausage with sausage gravy on the side and 2 over medium eggs (cooked perfectly) on top of the biscuits. Hubby had the Chicken Fried Steak ala carte and both our choices were delicious! For dinner we shared the Chicken Piccata, which came with a baked potato, steamed broccoli and the yummy soup I mentioned earlier. All of the food was hot, flavorful and came in a very generous portion. But the highlight was the people. We will be back! read more

This place is a must stop if you're ever in the small town of Marcola. With a tavern in the rear and a quaint restaurant in the front, they've got it all! Speaking of, did someone say patio? It's through the bar wnd complete with cornhole, ring toss and new this week karaoke. The owner carol is a complete gem, she bought during a pandemic and has done nothing but bring it to life! The drinks were all 10/10. Our table of three tried out an Irish coffee(hot), a dirty slippery nipple(iced) and a pina colada(blended) and across the board delish! I ate one of the local beef burgers and it was nothing short of mouthwatering. Our waitress Julia was wonderful and made us feel right at home! Will defiantly be retuning! We accidently found this place. We were in the area photographing the Cover Bridges in Oregon and didn't want to go to Eugene for lunch so we tried the trick of following a small trickle of High School students seeming to be bringing back food for lunch. They led us to this place. The outside (old closed gas station) does not reflect the nice comfortable interior. Our waitress was nice, friendly and helpful. Perfect for an enjoyable lunch We had one of the Best Reuben's in the Northwest and I loved it. NW Reuben's are usually a joke (coming from New York - I know a good Reuben) and this one was decent. My wife had the homemade Tomato soup which she enjoyed. Actually the HS students were going to the place next door - a small grocery store - but if this place was to add a non-Drinking section (possible covered outside) - they would win them over with the hamburgers and fries - just a thought. read more

What a gem! Last summer we took a drive out to Shotgun Creek to do some crawdaddin' and stopped here on the way out. We were just grabbing a quick breakfast, and a cup of coffee, but the service was so friendly we decided to stop on the way back as well. Great food, reasonably priced, and Boneyard RPM on draft. I can see why Yelpers dig this authentic roadside restaurant. My daughter gave a big thumbs up for the milkshake made with, of all things, ice cream. Don't drive by it. read more

With it being the only place to eat out in Marcola we are glad we have the Marcola Roadhouse as a option. We've only been a few times but seems like with each time we go they improve a little more. Each time we've gone I've got the fish and chips (COD) and it's always been very well cooked which is important for fish, and the fries are always delicious. My husband gets the burgers and has never once complained. Service is good but could be improved. It gets very busy on weekends and week nights which is to be expected since it's the only eatery in Marcola. It's not our first choice but it's also certainly not our last. I'm wondering when was the last time the Health Department inspected this place. My son and I stopped for dinner. Waited 15 minutes to be noticed. Son asked for a Pepsi he never got. Waitress handed us our menus and immediately asked what we wanted...hadn't even opened up the menu yet. We decided to leave without ordering dinner when we realized the waitress was acting like someone who had been drinking...slurring her words, dropping things on the floor, having a difficult time taking an order from another table. I went there during the opening week and as you can imagine there are kinks to work out. No biggie. Honestly, the food is fine but there is 1 waitress(blonde lady) I don't think is trained very well, perhaps has no experience. She accidentally dropped a knife on my child's arm(no cut), rightly so- freaking my child out. No apology or asking if my kid was okay... heard her say "shit", pick it up, walk away and bring a clean one. Because of how packed they were, we decided not to cause a scene. Because of the convenience factor, we do call in an order to go sometimes. They seem to be doing very well on the portions, flavor and quality. Perfect Roadhouse food. Three meals there so far: cheeseburger and fries for lunch, a prime rib dinner, and breakfast. All three were excellent with well prepared, locally sourced ingredients. Wait staff and bartenders are friendly and attentive. Great local spot! read more

When traveling through Oregon, we like to get off I-5 and take backroads. When doing so a few years ago, we found the Marcola Roadhouse and now take every opportunity to go back. It is the only restaurant in Marcola and is, therefore a local hangout but is also very welcoming to non-locals. Although we only drive through a couple times a year, the staff (especially Kim) always remembers us. We have eaten breakfasts and dinners there several times now and have found the food to be consistently good with huge servings. There are always specials along with the varied menu. It is well worth the short trip from Springfield. read more

This is my second review - a year and a half after my first review. The restaurant has settled in well with new decor, a new menu and, still, great food. The burgers are excellent with fresh (never frozen) beef, and there are several great new pasta dishes on the menu. New salad offerings include a delicious mandarin chicken salad that is more than enough for an entree. The desserts are amazing with everything baked fresh in the restaurant. I am giving one star because I can't give it zero. So let's say the one star is for location. We have been there twice first time was a take-out order and the server did not want to be bothered with me. It wasn't overly busy it was around 5:15 PM. I gave them the benefit of the doubt they were relatively new in just opening. The second time my husband and I went and again it had lousy service. We walked in and waitedabout five minutes. We finally decided to seat ourselves and then waited about ten minutes with the cook pearling out at us. Finally another couple came in and I got up and grabbed menus for us. Then a server came out from the bar area and took our drink order. We then order our food meatloaf and pizza. 39 minutes later she comes and tells us there was a problem with our order the pizza. As I watched my husbands meat loaf sit in the window for another pizza to be made. Then pizza done I watched the cook grab the meatloaf from the window heard the microwave door open and turn on. When we got our food the pizza was gooey and the meatloaf was dryer then dry. When I mentioned it to the server and explain what I saw she said that meatloaf went to someone else. Umm ok . Unfortunately I've been in the restaurant industry management bartender server for many years. I am aware of situations. We will never be back especially after that. I was excited to see the old tomahawk reopen its awesome for our community but with service like that it saddens me. Good luck read more
