My partner stopped in here today, on Easter, for lunch. We were hoping to sit outside but the patio is under construction and there was a 40 minute wait so we ate by the bar instead. We were seated immediately and were brought water quickly. I ordered the turkey fireside cranberry sandwich with tots and my partner ordered the Carmela's chicken sandwich. We finished with the strawberry cheesecake. The food was all pretty good. There wasn't a whole lot of turkey on my sandwich, so I was wishing there was more. I also couldn't taste the cranberry sauce very much. The tots were good and the ranch they came with was also good. The dessert was a nice way to end the meal and wasn't too heavy. We noticed an....interesting....pattern in the wood carving on the wall by our table. Not sure how they never noticed it before it made it on the wall but there's no way they haven't seen or been told about it since then. We definitely weren't expecting....that! The restaurant was clean and wasn't too loud. They have a good amount of parking in their lot. There are only two stalls in the bathroom so it can have a bit of a line when it's busy. This was my second time going to North Bank. It's a bit pricey but it's a good treat and a nice place to take a friend who is visiting from out of town. read more

Had a Terminator Stout and the Fish and Chips. Beer 5 stars Service 5 stars Food 2 stars Fish and Chips- $24 for two scrawny little pieces of fish. Some shoestring fries and tasteless coleslaw. Coleslaw should have some sugar in it. This had no seasoning and when the plate arrived, I just stared at the 2 little pieces of Fish and though I should have just stayed home an made a sandwich. Have been wanting to make our way to Eugene for the McMenamin's Passport stamps for a while now. Finally got to all 3 Eugene locations and ended at Noth Bank. Easily the largest of the 3 but was pretty empty at 9:30 on a Saturday night. We were able to sit outside on the deck overlooking the river with jacket on in April. Got our 2 free Cajun tots to go and also the Kauai Banana Cabana cocktail and the dragon boat appetizer. It was spiced meatballs with asian slaw in butter lettuce cups...3 to an order. We stopped in for a quick lunch by the river. Despite their patio being under construction, we were able to get a spot at their outside bar. We order the Mystic Burger and Bacon Cheese Burger. The burgers were good despite both being overdone and borderline needing to be sent back because of the char. The highlight of our lunch was our server, Maddy. We came here for our anniversary and the first thing I noticed was food crumbs on the seats and a sticky table. In fact the whole place could use a good scrubbing (dirty windows sills, etc.) The food was just ok and the service was fine. Probably won't return. read more

I had my first Mai Tai and it was supreme. Pork balls in lettuce cups and seared tuna. Both were amazing. We sat outside along the bike/walk path which gave an excellent river view, nice breeze, trees starting to bud, it was pretty much perfect. Service was a little slow. Server never came back to check on us. The food was good, nothing elaborate or standoutish. Pretty basic pub food. The ambience was great. Right on the river, the patio offers beautiful views of the water and bridge nearby. It was a great place to people watch the protest happening that day. Having now stayed at the McMenamins in Bend, we can safely say we're all fans of the eclectic chain of cool spots. We decided to try one for lunch before a hike, and were thankful we did. This one is a restaurant and pub along the river. It has their internal kitschy flare, really cool art, a big menu, and their own beer. They also had a lot of outdoor seating along the water, but it was mostly closed the day we were there. Regardless, they had cozy tables along the windows. We were greeted by nice host staff who seated us at our requested table without issue. Our server was super friendly and welcoming. I had a hazy IPA, a friend had a porter; we all ordered lunch - various sandwiches and salads early in the day. Prices are reasonable. If you're looking for a family friendly and fun place to eat, this is a great option. I hope to visit more locations on future trips. read more

We enjoyed visiting McMenamins North Bank. We sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks. They have all kinds of fun Islandy drinks, as well as a standard full with tap beers. We didn't get a chance to try anything to eat, since we had just eaten. It's quite a lovely area overlooking the river. You can sit outside and enjoy the view. There are also a lot of walking/biking trails that lead to many of the nearby hotels. Our bartender was friendly and prompt. read more

This place was fine. I was staying at the hotel across the street, the weather was miserable, and I just wanted some take-out food. I ordered a reuben, sub turkey, and it was really good. Hot, fresh, flavorful. One of the better sandwiches I've had. But it took forever to order. Apparently only the person working the host desk at the door can place a take-out order or retrieve it when it's ready. I had to stand there super, super awkwardly, twice, while everyone else was helped around me and barely acknowledged me. It was just really slow and really awkward. I love this location - right ON the river, easy parking, always great staff and patio seating with table umbrellas. And they are always willing to light a fire in the fire pits. However... This visit wasn't the best eating experience. My - usually very tasty - salad came with way too much dressing. I'll ask for it in the side from now on. For dessert, the server described what she called a berry ice cream bar, made with bits of something, and with Tillamook ice cream. I expected to get an ice cream bar on a stick, with delicious Tillamook berry ice cream and bits of something good - but was surprised when she came back with a square dessert bar with a scoop of ice cream on top of the dessert, which just kinda made it all soggy. As I ate it, I realized the 'bar' was very soft, and super sweet, compared to similar treats available elsewhere. By the time I finished most of it, I wished I hadn't. Lesson learned - ask more questions :) read more

McMenamins is always consistent and good but never great. I was really impressed by their seasonal honey mustard chicken sandwich though and Cajun tots always hit. The service was ok. When the server asked if we want avocado, we said no but she put them on anyway, both my partner's burger and my own, and charged us for them. Also, $14 for a mimosa is crazy. $7-$10 is the usual price. It should not cost as much as a cocktail. read more

My sister, my daughter, and I decided to go here because of a friend's recommendation. When we got here, the ambience was amazing. I love the decor and the location is great right on the river. We were sat down next to a window and the night was perfect. I ordered a Italian style salad. My daughter got a cheeseburger and my sister, they enjoyed the sandwiches, but tater tots and fries were a bit salty. I loved my salad it was perfect. Our drinks were amazing!! Ambiance is really nice, lots of cool little lights, windows, and dim lighting. Apparently there's a nice view outside (we were seated inside). Our waitress was friendly and super helpful when I asked about popular meals here. I ordered the kalua pork plate. The mac salad was really really bland which was disappointing, but the kalua pork and pineapple sambal were good. Not a fan of the soy sauce on the rice because it made the rice soggy. The proportion of meat to rice was off; I think with the saltiness of the kalua pork, it needed to be balanced out with the rice but there wasn't much rice. On the other side, my cousin thought her burger was average tasting. Her boyfriend thought the fish and chips were good but for two small pieces for $22, he didn't think it was worth it. I have very mixed feelings about McMenamins. On one hand, this location is awesome. You can't beat being on the river. Another positive is that a family member with gluten sensitivities can always find a reliable meal here. However, for the rest of us, we find the food to be very overpriced for the quality and the quantity and the overall variety of food is disappointing. There's typical pub fair, which is fine but always overpriced. When McMenamins does have seasonal specials or limited time options but they are never actually very good and seem like they come frozen and are quickly heated in the kitchen. I keep wanting to give McMenamins a chance, but I'm nearly always left disappointed and feeling like I wasted money on a lackluster meal. read more

Always a great experience here! The decor is so cute and it feels very cozy. The servers are attentive and check on you frequently, and the most important part; the food is always so good! This place is perched next to the Willamette River. Gorgeous location. Worth the wait to sit on the patio on a nice day, but the window seating is also just beautiful. Unusual cocktail concoctions, many rum based. I chose an apricot margaritas, one of their adult slushies. So fun! We had only appetizer food, which was very good. I took off a star because the service wasn't great. It was friendly but mostly absent. Finally had to chase someone down to pay the bill, and even then they couldn't be bothered. I hope to visit again in the future and find that maybe it was just an off day for them. read more

Im bummed out every year my hubby and I come to north bank for the rubys birthday because I love love the ruby Royale and look forward to enjoying it . We ordered our food which the Ruben was delicious we shared it . The waitress was great and energetic. Of course the decor is so cozy and unique like they all are and after we were done I wanted to take a 4pack of ruby Royale home once again something I look forward to ONCE a year and waitress came back and said they didn't get any ?? Whhhaatt?? It's rubys 38th birthday and they didn't plan ahead and make sure they ordered it . She said wouldn't be there until Tuesday I was very disappointed This is why we came in so hope I Get a response back on this situation. Seems like poor management . The Mushroom Grilled Cheese promised rustic comfort; instead, it offered a lukewarm betrayal. The bread, though toasted, bore only a faint crust of butter--more suggestion than indulgence--and the cheese within remained stubbornly unmelted, clinging to its shape like a memory of better times. The cremini mushrooms, meant to be the sandwich's earthy heart, were undercooked and pallid, their flavor lost between two timid slices of bread. To add insult to injury, an unwelcome strand of hair lay curled against the grain--an unappetizing souvenir of carelessness. Accompanying the sandwich were fries that might once have been crisp, now languishing cold and limp on the plate. They arrived as though they had endured a long, lonely wait under a heat lamp that had long since gone on break. Cocktails, too, betrayed their promise. The martini--ordered "shaken hard, extra dirty, with an ounce of olive brine"--arrived in a glass that had merely been nudged, its clarity unblemished by brine, its warmth unmarked by vigor. The whiskey sour, burdened by a charge for egg white, offered only a token whisper of foam atop a sour spirit, as if the egg itself had forgotten its role. Outside, the setting by the river might have lent enchantment, if only the patio had been equipped for human comfort. No heaters, no flicker of candles--only mosquitoes, industrious and insistent, reminding one that nature need not be tamed to be hostile. In the end, McMenamins North Bank serves a masterclass in unfulfilled potential. Here was a meal that arrived with ambition but collapsed under its own neglect. The food was terrible. Frozen fish and fries. Dumped on a plate. Two small unidentifiable lumps of deep fried mush and a gigatintic pile of cold fries. Well, hadn't been here since before covid, it was a place we loved to take out of town visitors. It's got a beautiful outside seating next to the Willamette river and the inside is very eclectic, funky and fun. Todays visit was very disappointing as far as the food quality, a shock to say the least. The alleged hand battered fish was overcooked and looked like hand pulled from the freezer, chips (french-fries on both orders) were heat lamp warm. My burger was cooked ok but the toppings (onion/peppers/schrooms) were very sparse, the bun was dry (like out of the package for a while type dry) Service was just ok, was the start of the dinner crush.
