Jackalope saved the day after getting treated real bad at the train station across the parking lot. We were supposed to leave at 7:45am but were delayed until 12:45. Had a 5 hour delay waiting for the train and thankfully Jackalope opened at 10am. It was a Sunday so we grabbed a good breakfast (bacon cooked PERFECTLY) and played free pool while drinking mimosas. Had the place pretty much all to ourselves. Bartender was nice, food was good, if you are traveling Amtrak and they screw you over at least you can drown you sorrow at Jackalope. PS - The guy at customer service at Amtrak was very nice and did help us out a lot after chatting with him. Please be nice to customer service representatives. read more

Honestly wasn't expecting much foodwise from this place, but it wasn't half bad. Got my order to-go and started with the Steak Tips on Garlic Bread, which was okay. The flavor mostly came from the garlic bread whereas the meat itself was pretty bland and spiceless. Don't think I would get this again. I really liked the sammich I got, the Southwest Turkey. This is one of the few sammiches I would actually continuously pay money for. Lots of flavor and they picked the perfect bread to pair with all the flavors. Unfortunately, I got a side salad and there was actually a hair sitting right on top (can be seen if you zoom in on the picture). Great little bar and grill by the train station in Eugene. Ample outdoor seating as well as a good amount of room inside. They have a decent bar menu with excellent appatizers to choose from. They have a good selection of burgers and sandwiches to choose from as well as salads, soup, chili and some decent entrees. They have a full bar and a really good beer selection. read more

For about a decade now the Jackalope has been one of my favorite bars. The blackened sockeye entree has been not only one of the tastiest dishes around, but also one of the greatest values. ($16 today) Just had it again for prolly the fifteenth time. Took 5 minutes to prepare and it was perfect. Fish served over slaw with a nice sized side salad. Bar food that is more healthy than 96% of anything else one can find- and especially at this price point. read more

This place is hopping! We came on a Tuesday and both the upstairs and downstairs were pretty packed. We got the pork and chicken tacos that were on special and were not disappointed at all. The tater tots were also very good, freshly fried and the chili on top was perfect. Their menu had all sorts of bar food that is sure to be satisfying. Their beer selection is okay, not the most extensive but at least a couple of options per style. Are the bartender's looking for a fight? The most confusing business of all time. They don't like you, they want to kick you out for no reason, they are very aggressive. How does this make money? I got serious "poor" vibes from the staff, which is probably why they act they way they do. Looks like I'm not the only one on yelp with beef. However, if you do like to get into verbal altercations with little to no effort, simply order a beer at this location! They may not like something about you or the people you are with and all of a sudden they own the entire Amtrak station, the street, and if you can even look at their building you are a criminal. This is definitely a dive bar. Small and closed in, a lot of people pile up in here. The bathroom is gender neutral and not well cleaned. Cute var space however. My past two train travel trips have included a stop at the Jackalope. I ordered a Frisch burger to go, thinking surely they could make burger in 30 minutes. The previous trips the food took a while and I thought I had planned well enough in advance. I told the bartender I had to leave. I watched her ask the cook if my food was ready. It hadn't been started, yet. His body language gave off a "I really don't want be here" vibe. I'll find a different place for food on my trips from now on. read more
