I figured it is time to update. We come here pretty often for breakfast, a quick lunch, some times dinner, but mostly the first of the three. The service is always on point here, and even the patrons all get along well. Even if you don't know each other. They all treat each other like family most of the time. Especially on game days. On the weekends starting Fridays they have the eggs Benedict, which I like to order some times. They are really good here. They also have a good prime rib breakfast special some times. I can't remember the day that falls on. The ham breakfast is also really good, and also another one of my go to's. For the lunch's I like the steak bites, or their sandwiches. Also they have great chicken. I always hear how good their pizza is, but I am never in the mood for it when I am here. But I know soooo many friends, that love it, and my kids (grown) do too. I like showing up on prime rib night once in a blue moon. It is pretty decent. You can bring your kids (young) under 21 until 3:00 pm I believe. We have met my Son, and Grandson here for breakfast. We ordered a XL / giant pizza and expected it to be much bigger. I'd compare it to a pizza joints medium size- so heads up if you think you're actually getting a huge pizza. Overall the toppings on the pizza were wonderful, some bites had so much cheese it was an unpleasant glob. The crust was undercooked so was soft and had no crunch throughout. Flavor was good though. We ordered hot chili / bbq wings & hot buffalo wings and they were meaty and delicious. Great flavor and juicy. Definitely suggest getting their wings. Good and quick pickup time. Filling and plenty to enjoy as leftovers. Only celery served with wings. No sauces unless asked and no ranch offered. read more

This place actually serves a great breakfast. Good size portions & good value. They open really early too which is nice. I wish they would update the billiard side of the bar by investing in updated lighting, pool sticks, and open up the space by moving the lottery machines to the outside wall instead of smack dab in the middle like they currently are. I've received a mix of stellar service here and less than stellar and it all comes down to the staff working the bar. This is the last good bar on the far west side of town and I'm grateful they are here. The scene can vary greatly, but generally it provides for some entertaining moments :-). read more

When you think of Bar food you'd likely get mediocre food. Not here! I have been going here for the last 3 years and I have yet to have anything but GREAT tasting food. For a little dive bar I have always loved this place! I ordered steak bites and crinkle fries and they didn't disappoint! Still as I remember them from years ago. Does take more of the customers effort to get a drink even on a very slow day like when I was there. I do love that they have updated the back patio a bit and now have propane fire spots and plants. Very disappointed. Was hoping to get a good pizza but it feel short. I don't like to complain about the food but the pizza was dry, hardly any sauce and hard to eat. Mozzarella sticks were great. Chilli was mediocre at best, very thick. I will give them another try, because I know how food varies with cooks. But we'll see. read more

Charming dive bar on the far west side of Eugene, it has a great menu, lots of options and all of them are damn good. I'd highly suggest the finger steaks if you're in the mood for finger food. The pricing is very fair, you're getting quality food for great prices. The drink prices are average edging into the low cost end so you can get quite far with some pocket cash. The bar is a little basic, they have all your necessities, a little of everything but if you're shooting for a very specific brand or a drink with specific ingredients, they may not have it. There's a really different dynamic going during the day versus night. Definitely worth checking out both. Friday / Saturday are karaoke / dance nights so that's a really fun time to come. read more

Family Owned, with a bonhomie staff from the Owners to the newest employees. Great Venue for watching the Game from a Mexico-Brazil World Cup Fixture to (Something a little more their pace) a Monday Night Matchup with the Raiders hosting the Broncos & Everything in between. Solid Patio & Various Bar Game Options. They even sell Kegs to go, how titular of them. Personally I enjoyed a couple Dragonstooth Stouts from Elysian Brewing & a Bacon Cheeseburger with the Fixin's on a sesame seed bun with crinkle cut fries. A Grade. If your looking for a cool dive bar to watch the football game at this is the place. It kinda seems like the Cheers of Eugene. The staff is super friendly and the food is not to bad. The only thing I didn't really like was how dark it is inside. It's like a dungeon. So if your into vampires and want to avoid sunlight at all cost this is your place. read more

OK. Scrap that last review! They USED to make a good burger. I dont know if I got the wrong one or what, but whatever they're slinging now is junk on a bun! Bluh... That's just a side note...onto the real "re-review"... It was a wet, cold morning in Eugene, Oregon. In fact, it was the day our mighty Oregon Ducks lost to Stanford. We woke up at 7am and I really wanted to watch game day. We had no kids, and my wife had a moment of brilliance. "Let's go watch Game Day at the bar", she said. I couldn't get ready any quicker. After calling NUMEROUS bars, nobody opened until 9am. When Game Day ends. Finally I called The Keg recalling they open early for breakfast. TOUCH DOWN!! Called them and they were up and runningwith Game Day on the TV's. We showed up and I about shit myself when I seen 20+ people in this place. I've been here a few times, and i've never seen more than 5 people, 2 of which were me and my wife. I guess breakfast is where it's at when it comes to The Keg. You know what I really wanted? Ice. Cold. BEER. BUT...I went with a bloody mary instead. Waitress asked, "Do you want it really spicy?" "Oh Yeah!" We replied. One would think you would spice up a bloody mary with tobasco or a touch of some fresh horse radish (i can make a killer bloody mary mix). The Keg's idea is pooring 5 tablespoons of black pepper into the glass. I kid you not, 1/2" of pepper settled on the bottom of the glass. We had to drink the Bloody Mary's from the top, that way we wouldn't suck up tons of pepper. Yeeeeesh. Onto the grub. I was so happy to be watching Game Day, I could let the nasty drink slide....besides, they had 10 barrell apocolypse on tap that I was eye balling. All I really wanted was some hashbrowns, eggs and bacon. The waitress was set on me having the special. Chicken Fried Pork Loin with taters, eggs, toast and gravy. I REALLY didn't want it...but she was pretty damn pushy, so I said F*** it and went with it. It was horrible. It wasn't chicken fried....it was deep fried. They used something similar to "Pride of the West" batter...I know since i've used it enough to fry fish. I ended up scraping the batter off and the gravy was NASTY. Officialy the NASTIEST gravy my tongue has tasted. It was REALLY thick, almost like it was thickened with too much flower. I had two fist sized piles of gravy and batter scooted to the side of the plate that I didn't eat. My heart thanked me of course! The bacon was the shining moment. THICK, tasty huge slab of bacon. OK, I get it. So the next time (if ever) I come here, I'll get a 10 barrel and a plate of bacon. Hell, sounds good to me. For a few drinks and breakfast it was $15. I guess the price reflects the quality. read more

What Happened To "The KEG" ?? We have been going there for years. This was on our route going home so we would stop here 3 or more times a month cause sometimes you just don't feel like cooking. All of a sudden the food took a serious turn downhill (3 visits in a row) ? WTF ?? We used to get a good sometimes excellent ,consistent food/service experience at The Keg. Well yea, it's a pub, so what, they used to really have great food, decent portions and a fair price. My expectations were based on years of going there and enjoying my meals but now days I only go there when I have to because someone else wants to go. I am bummed ! read more

We have been searching for a great breakfast place and we have found it. Even though it is a bar you can take your kids to the restaurant side in the morning. While enjoying a yummy breakfast you can watch a football game or talk with the people sitting beside you. Everything on the menu is amazing my favorite is the eggs Benedict and their southern style one. They have Mickey Mouse pancakes and French toast dippers. Their bloody Mary's are a perfect pairing for any breakfast choice. The staff is great and the atmosphere is fun. As far as bar food goes, the keg is pretty solid. I've yet to hate a meal there yet... unless I sat too close to the speakers on karaoke night. The staff have always been great, and I enjoy a few items here regularly. If you like taco salads, burgers, and chicken fried steak... I'd recommend giving the keg a try. read more

I've always loved The Keg. It's just a good old fashioned bar and grill. They have a great staff and great food. I work nearby and come here for lunch a lot. The Chefs Salad is ridiculously large. My love and I will share one and be more than satisfied. The Sub Sandwich is huge and again can be split with both eaters being satisfied. The Keg Burger is the size of a dinner plate. And the toppings are always fresh. I always feel welcomed when I come in. The place is always clean, even when busy. If your headed to the coast it's the last stop out of town, I can't think of a better place to start your trip off with a wonderful Bloody Mary. read more

Saturday nights are always a great time! But I will never pay cash again, bartender Danny didn't give me change after buying two cheap drinks and handed her a $20. With the help of the other bartender I confronted her multiple times and she only gave $2 back and still kept a generous amount. During the multiple times of trying confront her she tried to ignore me and kept at the other end of the bar! I have been going here for years with excellent service. However recently things have changed. I went in for breakfast with my son and he ordered his eggs over easy they were closer to over hard. Next visit I ordered bacon and eggs over easy with a pancake order came out with two eggs and bacon and a pancake with no hash browns I asked my server where the hash browns were and he proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered. Thought I would give them another chance for dinner since they have really good french dip sandwiches. I went to the bar to order the bar tender acknowledged me until someone else came up to the bar after me and she proceeded to serve him before me.
