Big City Gaming and Home Team Kitchen- 4 stars…read more Big City Gaming is a Sports Bar in Eugene. I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam. I am a huge Warriors fan and sad we lost Donte yet he is going to the Knicks. Cool atmosphere with screens for sports and games such as shooting basketballs in the hoop etc. Recommended for sports night!

Started with beers and a southwest egg roll order. We ordered because the server said it is running about 30 minutes for orders. The egg rolls came out and they were good. Our food arrived a little earlier than we were told. My wife and I got a perfectly cooked junior hamburger. Others got the southwest fiesta salad and the queso burger. Everyone liked their meal. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

He hasn't quite nailed consistency yet, but it's clear he's trying. After my original experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to return. But I happened to see him advertising for a new chef not too long after, and I figured that was a good time to try again. I still love that he supports other small businesses, like the butcher shop next door, the bakery across the street, and my favorite brewery in Corvallis as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing small business supporting each other. I have a complete love affair with their tacos every Tuesday, and my inner fat kid craves them constantly. Friday, my husband and I went in for the prime rib special. It is a 12 ounce prime rib, baked potato, and chowder or salad for $25. We also enjoyed an amazing beer from Block 15, which is like my favorite brewery ever. Service is great, I've never had a complaint there. The owner is always there working, everybody working works. The owner and chef both bring food out if the bartender is busy. It's clear nothing sits and waits. Everything is everyone's job, and I have huge respect for that. I am really glad I decided to give Twisted Duck another try, because every experience gets better and better, and I'm always happy to see a small business growing and becoming very successful.

That is the whole point of the sandwich; there's no point to getting it otherwise. It's a HUGE pet peeve of mine to have to check the bag when picking up an order, and I usually forget to do it--as was the case this time, and only when I was home and my sister asked for the jus did we find it was missing. So she then had to go pick up the jus, which was a 20 minute round trip so the sandwiches were cold by that time. I have to say that I was a little surprised that they didn't even offer an extra side of fries or anything for this issue. And it was lucky my sister was here and offered to go pick it up because I would not have been able to pack up my toddler to return to the restaurant for that. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good, as we ordered that for an appetizer. Mom had the fish and chips, and while she said they were fine, she also was surprised that they didn't have a lot of flavor. She was expecting a better batter. They have a children's menu, which was a surprise because when I had originally been looking at their menu online I was expecting to have to order a full entree for my daughter. It was only when I placed the order--which I had to do online; it seems like they don't take orders over the phone--that the children's menu was revealed. I was really looking forward to giving this place a shot and I left a bit underwhelmed. I may come back if circumstances dictate, but I won't make a beeline to return.

Yum was all she said between bites. We were very impressed with the food. The beer I selected was just what the doctor (J) ordered. I simply love a WC IPA! I picked up a six-pack on the way out;) Oh and I believe they have a back section for parties or overflow. You really can't ask for more. FYI, road trip adventures:)

Last time we came for brunch, we noticed the eggs Benedict no longer has the amazing Parmesan-crusted potatoes. The hollandaise is still decent and the focaccia bread is great, but losing that crispy crust was a big bummer. Today's visit for our usual wings and nachos was even more frustrating. First, they no longer offer ground beef for the nachos. We were told we could substitute steak, but that literally doubles the price of the dish. We opted for chicken instead, which was a steep $7 extra for maybe two ounces of meat. When the nachos arrived, they looked like low-effort, homemade oven nachos with just melted cheddar on top. The whole thing was fused together into one giant sheet of chips; we had to break it apart and manually pile the toppings back onto the chips ourselves. It was really weird. The biggest letdown, though, was the wings. It used to be a solid order of six traditional flats and drums. Today, we paid $14 for just four pieces, and they weren't even wings--they were frenched chicken thighs. Subbing a completely different, lower-quality cut of meat without telling the customer is false advertising, and they turned out dry. Plus, the sauce has changed from a traditional Frank's-style buffalo to a harsh cayenne sauce. Between the wings and the nachos, today's total came out to $34--and $40 with a tip. Paying premium prices for dry thigh meat, overpriced add-ons, and a block of fused-together nachos makes it really hard to justify coming back. I'm not sure if North Fork got bought out or what, but I really don't see a point in returning.
