It has been many years since I had last been to Shooter's. Perhaps 7-8 years. I didn't really remember it, but I wanted to check it out again as I don't live too terribly far away and I wanted to take my wife out for St. Patrick's Day. We went around 7:50pm. It wasn't super busy. The area around the bar was full, a couple booths had people, and maybe two of the tables had people. My wife and I saw two open booths, but one of them had dishes that needed to be cleared, so we took the other one. It was sticky, sadly. It is possible they had just cleared it before we arrived, but who knows. There were two female bartenders. It took about 5 minutes before anyone said hello. I had already gone up and gotten us menus. When someone did stop by, she didn't know the specials. We had looked them up, but had a question she didn't know the answer to. She left to look it up. She came back 4 or 5 minutes later amd by them we were able to bring up the specials on our phone (reception is bad there). We were able to place our orders. Ambiance is fine, but looks more dive bar-ish than the photos on their site. Photos show a lot more light in the room than it has. Food was okay.Took about 20 or so minutes. I got a burger. Ketchup there isn't very good, but burger was cooked well. My wife got cheese quesasillia. We make them at home in a fraction of the time. My wife did get the special drink that came in a special cup that we took home for St. Patty's Day. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. There wasn't anything compelling to bring me back, either. The drink my wife got was fine (she enjoyed the plastic take-home cup). Food was so-so. Really, there just isn't anything that sets Shooter's apart from anyplace else. The ambiance isn't special nor particularly inviting, food is basic for the price they charge, and the service is... serviceable, but nothing stellar. If someone suggested to go back, I would go, but I'd lower my expectations as it is rather run of the mill in my opinion. read more

I Had a fun night at Shooters! The band was seriously good . Honestly, they were loud, maybe a bit much for how Cozy it is? But the vibe? Totally Eugene: everyone was super friendly and kind. Really nice that the owner came through to say hello and welcome us; nice personal touch. Must mention... the tables could've been cleaner. Some were a bit sticky and needed some wiping. The Biggest downside was accessibility/ stairs; They're really steep getting up to the second floor. Also, the smokers area appears to be on this same stairway (yikes) I had to charge through the heavy smoke. With that being said. These stairs actually meant a couple friends/veterans; one on crutches and one in a wheelchair could not come up and join us. That really bummed us out. Would be wonderful, if they could figure out the accessibility thing someday, even just a ramp. And of course the obvious of taking out the smokers area on this stairwell (perhaps remove the butt cans & sign to stop this ) ?? Just a suggestion..... This place appears to have reliable food and priced fairly; (I will be back for that prime Rib)! The only downside., No desserts offered. It got me thinking.. I really appreciate how many Eugene restaurants source desserts from local bakeries. It's such a great way to support the community (major morale booster!). Would love to see this spot jump on that bandwagon." If you're into gambling video games, it's a neat little tucked away spot; Huge plus: FREE parking in their shared lot! Seriously, after dealing with parking fees everywhere else downtown this summer, that was a major win for us. Also, FREE cover; charge m, with these trying times this was an extremely pleasant surprise. Overall? Solid spot for music and hanging out, if stairs aren't a problem for your crew. I've been here for booze before, but it was the first time for a meal, and it was great! I went with the steak fingers and requested an off menu horseradish type sauce and cook delivered. Fries were very delicious and crisp-worth coming back for. I paired with a pinot and couldn't have been happier! Disregard the numbers on my food, I was celebrating my bday. Interesting experience! Definitely a smaller space, but still has all the amenities of a regular bar : one (non-operating) pool table, bar and table seating, slots, touch tunes (which we decided to interrupt the stream of Nickelback and country with WAP... too good), and of course table service. I did find it a little strange that no one greets you or really acknowledges you once you walk in, and there are no signs to tell you what to do,(especially in the time of COVID), so we took a seat after scoping out the place for a minute. After sitting down we were welcomed with an immediate, "Can I get you a round of something", which is nice! Once we got our first round, we ordered from the very reasonably priced menu and were served big ol' servings-- I mean my burger was only 8.50 and it came with a COPIOUS AMOUNT of fries. Their chili was decent, the meal was good. They were accommodating of my allergy which is awesome! I chose to give 3 stars for a couple of reasons, none of which are bad! The food was good, the table service was nice, but we were only approached when our drinks were empty (makes sense, but no food check-ins). The atmosphere is a little dull, the place is filled with obvious regulars, the environment is much more small-town dive bar, and I could see how this would be unappealing to younger generations or newcomers (like ourselves). My husband and I think it would be a nice spot for calmer evenings or a mellow date night, but it's definitely not for everyone. Their selection of liquor is fairly basic and limited, but the drinks were good. Overall it wasn't a mind blowing experience, but it was nice! We had fun and we're served good food, the best part-- we could actually hear our conversation without the loudness associated with the downtown scene and we didn't break the bank getting a nice buzz on. read more

I think this place has had a facelift lately and seems a lot cleaner. But unfortunately the food has gotten worse. It was the most salted meal I have ever had. I couldn't finish and I got instant heartburn from the grease and sodium levels. The Au jus was so thick and salty. Bread was soaked in grease, And the beef was low quality. The tots should have been the only salty item. The service always seems to be okay, but never great. I hope River Rd. gets a good bar someday. This is not it. read more

This is a great spot for cheap, and good taco's on a Wednesday night! Of course they are not going to be what you would find from your local taco truck, or authentic Mexican restaurant but they are pretty good and hit the spot. We also meet up with friends on Thursdays and on Thursdays they have a turkey dinner special. Well some times I don't have time to order it, but I love turkey dinner and this one is really good here and homemade. The stuffing you can tell is homemade as well. It also has some cranberries on the side. A perfect meal to share. A friend ordered the chef salad and I think I might have to get that next. That thing was huge! Located on top of a horrific Mexican restaurant is this small little bar. Walking in you can tell at all the patrons looking you up and down that they know your not one "them". It's definitely the Cheers of River Road. When a regular walks in the other customers welcome them like it's a daily high school reunion. As we walk by the glares of regulars we head to the bar to place our order for a late lunch. Hey the location was close and it looked like it might be a good time. The girl working the bar with long brown hair avoids coming to help us at all cost but continues to help the regulars. Strange. We continue to wait a good 15 minutes until finally with a attitude she comes to take our order. Hey it's not my fault you work at a bar. We order two burgers and fries without the bun (yes were those people). After we sit down at a booth we look around to a clientele that is much older, either these guys don't want to go home to their spouses or they were hungry and wanted to catch up with a cold one. After finally receiving our meal, first glance we thought the food looked and tasted amazing and how could you beat the price. However later that day we were dying from regret because we both received a epic gift of food poisoning. Maybe I should of checked the reviews prior and stopped in for taco Tuesday. I only order food Togo from here. Usually it's the Shooters Club sandwich. Classic club but with roast beef added. They load this sandwich up with a ton of meat and cheese. I met up with some friends at Shooter's recently & while I can't say its an exceptional Pub it seems to have found it's charm with a fair amount of locals. The staff were efficient, friendly, & treated newbies like myself just as well as the regulars that were at our table. There is ample seating, the food was really good, and the mood throughout was cheerful/relaxed. It seems to be popular for the locals in their 30's to 60's. They have plenty of big screens to watch games & serve great cocktails & beers. If you want a casual place to chill than Shooter's Pub is a good place to do it on that side of town. read more

Bartender was totally rude, took 15 to cash a lottery ticket, another 20 to order as she walked around talking on the phone. Mind you there is only 5 people I'm here, and my party is 3 of them. Food is pretty good, service is good, plenty of TV's for watching the game(s). Found it odd they don't/won't serve lunch till 1pm on Sundays. I had breakfast before early church service, and went to Shooters afterwards to watch a morning football game, just wanted a burger about 11:30, but nope they wouldn't even take my lunch order until 12:40. I went here and because I have a disability that effects my balance and cannot feel my feet which makes me a little less stable than others they refused to serve me and because my friend defended me they said he probably beat me! Refused to give us any drinks all because they didn't want to look like fools! I will never ever go here again! If they discriminate against people with disabilities then i want nothing to do with this place! shooters is perfectly located close to me so i find myself there often. i'm bias and i'll review subjectively. the food is decently priced and the portions are big. not the biggest draft beer selection. there are plenty of bottled beer choices. when the bartender serves mixed drinks and shots are always generous. plenty of smiles to have with the staff and the locals(me) when it gets busy it doesn't take forever to get served. i've been a patron for at least 15 years and plan to stay a patron. read more

This place licks dog a**. Their taco night is decent, and they offer the common bar fare. But the service here... SUCKS! These folks need to at least pretend to like their jobs. I use to live close by now I don't..after a horrible last three Friday nights at the place closer to me and a very rude experience I had at the place closer to me I went straight to Shooter's last night..always felt very much welcomed and cheaper and much more fun!!
