Been here twice. Both times there has been fights. One was at 5:30 pm and the other was at 8:30 pm. Wtf......looking to have a good time and then everything was ruined. Drinks are strong which in my book isn't a bad thing. You get your money's worth. Our food was mehhhh, it was also after one of the fights so that could have been why. This place is pretty interesting. You don't walk in the entrance on Ivy street, but you walk around the alley. The building was an old theater so it's pretty open. It's also pretty bright in there. The drinks are priced pretty reasonably. I'm a local beer drinker, so having Ninkasi on tap and a decent selection of 22's makes me happy. I've only ever been pretty late, so I've only had their fried food. You can't really mess that up. It's always been crispy and hot. The only thing that puts me off about the place is the ever changing hours. I understand if it's not busy closing, but it still kind of sucks when you wanna shoot some pool and have to drive all the way to Eugene to do it. I hate gay hate. I hate that this is all I was able to experience at this bar when I attended, on Saturday night. I am a New Home Owner in the area and I am a gay male. So the bar should include an accepting atmosphere and really gear up to try and catch up with the 2020's. Thanks sincerely your neighbor from two block down. (No joke). Get a more peaceful and accepting vibe; and I'm definitely not spending a cheap buck here again. After passing by this building for three years my wife and I decided it was finally time to see what they had to offer. Service was good. Shannon was our server. She greeted us warmly and made sure all of our orders where to our liking. The building didn't smell old or like smoke. The bathrooms were cleaner than I had expected. The quality of food was decent. Our food was just mediocre, and the service was the worst, by far, that I have ever, EVER had. The waitress (or bartender... Who knows?) didn't come over for at least 15-20 minutes after we arrived. Then, she gave us menus and took our drink orders, which she forgot. When we reminded her, so he brought them. She delivered our menus, and it was at least another 15-20 minutes before she came back. I watched her go out for a smoke break in the meantime. When she finally took our order, she forgot half of it when she brought it out. All in all, we were there over an hour for sub-par good and shitty service. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

It's a bar with food, so 21 years old and older only. Breakfast tasted great and hit the spot! Plenty of choices in the burger, sandwich, salad, fish n chips categories too. Who knew? From the outside on Ivy Street is looked kind of out-of-biz. By happenstance I drove up the street on the backside of Bugsy's and found both their parking lot and that they were, indeed, open. Hours; M-Th 11am-midnight, Fri & Sat 8am-2:30am, Sun 8am-midnight. They tell me they have live music on the weekend starting at 9pm. read more

I have had lunch here a few times since working in Junction City. It's a bar, that has bar food. It's A-OK in my book. The Food: The Reuben sandwich is very good, served hot and maybe a little soggy, but if you love Reuben's you gotta try this one! Salads seem to be freshly made with good quality ingredients. I don't think they are premade, as it wasn't ice cold when I took my first bite. The veggies are crisp, the dressing is average, fresh boiled eggs and freshly cooked meat (chicken, bacon) for toppers. Swiss Mushroom Burger left me wanting. Everything was great except for the beef patty itself. I think it's just a frozen 1/3 lb. patty, flavorless. But the other ingredients brought it together well. Bathroom: Cold and clean Service: I have had great service every time I go in. Sometimes There is a little wait depending on the lunch rush. Specials: They always have a unique special for lunch. I have yet to try any of them, but they always sound yummy. Last time I was in they had large wings with 3 sauce choices for 75 cents each. This place has the potential to be a decent bar to hangout at. However, they need to seriously reconsider their management and how they treat their customers. Last night, I went to Bugsy's with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. We were having some drinks and shooting pool, having a pretty good time. 2:30am came around, and closing time was announced. However, it was the way that it was announced that did not sit well with me. The main bartender actually shouted across the entire bar, "I'm not paid anymore to like any of you, so fuck off." Seriously! I was so bothered by that statement that I ended up saying to the guy that he's not going to get a lot of returning customers by telling them to fuck off. He laughed and basically brushed me off. If you hate your job, get a new one. Don't take it out on people who are looking to have a good time and aren't causing undue stress on you. Bugsy's is a place that defies traditional labels. It's really not a dive...not exactly a neighborhood pub...not so much a theme bar...it's just one of a kind. Colorful murals depicting 1940s-era Hollywood starlets reach up to the impressively high vaulted ceilings. The floor is covered in carpet, which in and of itself is unusual for a bar. Carpet is more "casino" and in fact, Bugsys apparently offers a no-cash blackjack table which on the night of my visit was hosted by a dealer rocking rhinestones and K-Swiss. Ordering at the bar seems to be the way to go, but the pleasant bartender or server will run your food out to your table. Our tasty steak fries--complete with ketchup and ranch dressing--had a surface temperature of about 450 degrees, leading to several incidents of first bites followed by "Oh my GOD these are hot!" Bugsy's has a full bar and you can't really go wrong with beer. For our group, cocktails seemed to be a bit more hit and miss, with tequila concoctions scoring higher marks than vodka mixtures. If there isn't live music playing, you can kick back at Bugsy's with some food and beverage and watch your fellow patrons engage in testosterone showdowns and ill-advised lapdancing. If that doesn't strike your fancy, fortunately there's Big Buck Hunter as a back-up. All in all, this is a fun place to hang out with friends for a night out in JC. read more

I very rarely drink alcohol (I don't like the taste) so I don't venture into Bugsy's often. However, I knew a woman who spent a LOT of time here because they routinely over served her. They over serve everyone. On one occasion I went to pick her up at the time we decided and she was hammered. I could tell within 20 seconds she was drunk. Nonetheless, a female waitress came over and asked if she was done with the drink she had next to her. This woman said yes and a moment later the bartender arrived with another drink even though nobody asked for one. If you have someone who is having trouble focusing and speaking because they are that drunk, you don't serve them another drink. Period. I paid her tab and took her home. Of course we were charged for the drink we neither asked for or should have ever been served. Completely unethical and illegal. On many occasions I have been there with other alcohol drinkers and it is so loud in there you can't hear anyone. You are yelling into the side of your friend's face and they still can't hear you. The bands they bring in are awful. Just loud metal. You can't understand what is being "sang" and electric guitars and drums rule the entire building. The one saving grace is that the dinner menu is not that bad. The burgers I've had there are cooked well and everything is seasoned very good as well. There are bars that have a consciousness to not over serve clearly intoxicated customers. This is not one of them. If you send someone there, you will come back to them completely drunk and the bartenders will continue to serve them because it means more money for the bartenders. It is an unethical place that is going to get people killed and I won't set foot in there ever again. read more

Okay... let me first start I understand the rules of OLCC when it comes to having your ID in a bar. Not a big deal to me or my friend. However, the way we were treated by the woman with the red hair was absolutely disgusting. First off, we just wanted food so since my friend didn't have her ID we just ordered to-go food over the phone. When this woman (red hair) answered the phone, she answered with complete disrespect. The best part was when I went inside to pick up the food and I told her I was here for it... her body language and attitude was not okay. I have worked in the restaurant service for a long time and I know what adequate good respectful service looks like. This was not... I'm sorry but unless you want to be treated with respect in this type of industry especially... your dull one word responses and slamming the food on the bar counter but that just calls for me and my pregnancy hormones to spark at you. My husband and I went there this last weekend with a group from our dance class. My husband and I waited 20 minutes to get a drink from the bar. We watched the two female bartenders walk right past us several times and help others, once one finally came to help she was extremely rude. We stood there quite awhile watching, it appeared that they would blatantly ignore certain customers and we saw many people getting very frustrated. We even heard them bad mouthing customers to each other. I was shocked by their behavior and unprofessionalism. The band was too loud, and when the singer started talking about womens breasts, we were done. My wife and I recently visited Bugsy's toward the end of lunchtime, at around 1:30pm. I cannot comment on the food, as we were never offered the opportunity to order. I stood at the bar for about ten minutes, as the one person behind the bar spoke with two girls who had questions about their order. He disappeared into the kitchen, returned, and resumed speaking the girls. All I wanted from him was a menu, and to ask if we should seat ourselves, order from the bar, or wait for the one person who seemed to be impersonating a waitress. Even though I was standing right next to the girls that the bar tender was speaking with, I was ignored. Totally. The person trying to pass as the waitress also passed right by me at least two times, filling ice tea glasses at various nearby tables, and looking very "hard done by.". She too, totally ignored me. After ten minutes, I had had enough. We left. We are moving to Junction City and could have been frequent customers. But we will not be. Called to order some food online to be picked up while I was at work and to see if they had Philly cheese steaks. (I couldn't find a menu online anywhere). They lady I talked to said yes and told me it was $10.50 (yikes!) I wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on a lunch, so I had to call her back. Finally decided to order one, and hope it lived up to the price I was going to pay. The lady on the phone told me it would be about 15 min. So I hang up, tie up some loose ends at work and head over. You enter through the alleyway and I was a bit weirded out by the lady digging through the ashtrays by the entrance looking for a cigarette, but anyhow, quite a few people were there eating on a their lunch breaks. The bartender was very nice and they had my order ready in no time. I brought my lunch back to work and it was the BEST PHILLY Cheesesteak I've ever had and it had a side of coleslaw. YUM!
