I was glad to try another food establishment out in Monroe. I have been to the other's, and while one of them is more higher end, and the other a dive/ sports bar they are great I wanted to give Benny's a shot. I have read many reviews online, and happened to be in the area around dinner time on a Saturday evening. We showed up at the right time, it wasn't quite packed yet. After we sat, a lot of locals started packing, in, and out. Even though they were so busy, the service didn't lack one bit. The women were on top of their game, and we had excellent service. The pizza was delicious, and had an amazing crust. I think we had the Benny's combo with pineapple added, and no onion on half. I took pics, but only after slices were taken. First - Monroe is a beautiful little town, surrounded by some amazing farmland and vineyards. Benny's is a very comfortable gathering place located in the middle of this cool little town. Second - the service was excellent. Super friendly wait staff and very attentive and prompt. Third - the pizza - Benny's Combination - was some of the best I've ever had. And I used to make pies for a pretty kick ass pizza place in Northern California in my younger days. The crust was just about perfect, light and crispy. Great combo of meats and fresh veggies. The Italian sausage was especially notable, I thought. Plus, a great marinara sauce! The salad bar is classic, too! Old school, buffet-style with a huge variety of fresh vegetables, side salads, and even Jello salad! Just like the old days, pre-COVID! I think the smaller salad order cost only $6, and my wife and I were both able to make very decent sized side salads to accompany our pizza. We both ordered a pilsner, which was a cool, crisp and outstanding pairing for our meal. I had read positive reviews about this place, and it was definitely worth the drive... about 20 to 25 minutes from Corvallis. We'll be back! read more

We've driven through Monroe, Oregon several times and have always passed by Bennys Pizza Joint because we weren't hungry. Yesterday we said, we're hungry so let's try Bennys. I'm so glad we did! We pulled into the spacious parking lot, which was also handicapped accessible. There were covered tables and chairs outside, but since we were ordering to go, we didn't sit outside. Plenty of seating outside however. We walked up to the door and as soon as we entered, we could smell so many fresh items, as well as the pizzas cooking. Inside was beautiful with large seating areas and is also handicapped accessible(huge plus for me). There's a pretty good sized, covered salad bar. I could see 2 choices for your main lettuce, spinach was in a tin under the cover, olives, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, Roma tomatoes, peppers, pickles, carrots(if I remember correctly), cottage cheese, fruit, bacon bits, sunflower seeds, walnuts, then your dressings. We made our salads while we waited for our pizza and breadsticks. We both received pretty large to go containers for our salads(in photos). By the time I was done filling my box, I could barely close it. When we got up to the counter we I first told the lady that we're in the locked running car with the ac on with dogs in it(we could see my car and the pups from inside through the huge windows), if anyone asks. She then asked us if we called in an order, we said no, she asked if we knew what we wanted, we said no we've never been here before. She said, oh okay, welcome in and handed us 2 menus. There were so many different choices for pizzas. We did a 1/2 & 1/2, pepperoni and the other half Spinach, feta, artichoke hearts(extra artichoke hearts), olives and cheese(asked for thick or pan crust). We also ordered the cheesy breadsticks and since they didn't have to go cups for drinks, we bought a bottle of Pepsi and a bottle of Dr. Pepper and the 2 salad bars. It took the lady a little bit to enter in our order and she apologized and said it was her 2nd day. I told her she didn't have to apologize and told her I never even would've known and that she's doing a great job(which she was). A lady(maybe the owner/manager)? Was helping her when she needed it and we were both greeted with a small town friendly smile(which was very nice as we'd never been there before)! There was a little arcade with a few games in it in a little room off to the left of the counter. The ladies restroom was very clean and supplied, with the exception of the toilet seat covers. When we were sitting watching my car and waiting for our order, I noticed they serve beer, wine and there's a sign that says, now serving cocktails. When our order was complete, the lady that took our order, she brought it to our table all boxed up and smelling fantastic. We said our goodbyes and headed out. I say ladies, because they had no name tags on, nor gave us their names. When we arrived at our destination, we opened everything up, we were pleased with everything, with one minor exception. We asked for thick or pan crust and the crust was very thin. We didn't mind because the pizza was so good. The sauce wasn't overbearing, but was just the right amount and it complimented the other ingredients well. The pepperoni slices were huge, the artichoke hearts(and the extra) were really big as well and they didn't skimp on the extra. All in all everything was great! Will definitely go back the next time we're in the area! read more

This place is so awesome! I lived in Monroe when the population was about 550 people (it isn't a lot more now!) and there were no restaurants. We have been to Benny's multiple times now and keep going back. The food os great, the service is friendly and prompt. What else can you ask for? Best. Pizza. Ever. Decidedly high grade toppings, and you can order by the slice for variety. The choices are so hard to pick from! The spicy Hawaiian and the pepperoni have been hard for us to diverge from to try their other slices. Their salad bar is also one of the best around and a nice selection of beverages on tap. Probably closer to a 3, but the staff is friendly and I like that you can order a custom slice. That's unusual, and while I didn't take advantage of it it's a cool option. It was ready when they said it would be, and it was easy enough to order via telephone for pickup. So that's why I landed on a 4 instead of a 3. As for the pizza- it's average. I couldn't taste the pepperoni at all. The crust is fine, nothing spectacular. It tastes fine, but it's far from the "best pizza I've ever had" from other reviews. It's a good option if you are in the JC/Monroe area and don't want to trek into Eugene. I'd probably try it again, because maybe it was an off day. read more

Came here based on reviews and just wanted a basic pepperoni pizza. The salad bar was good with lots of choices. The pepperoni pizza was more like pepperoni flavored cheese. Pepperoni had Ben cut up and was mixed into a whole bunch of cheese. Then it looked like it had been baked to brown the cheese and served. The crust was barely done.
