Fast and friendly staff, super yummy and reasonably priced food, and a fun crowd to watch the game with!

Today my fiance took me here for lunch for my first time. He's been there quite a few times and I was not disappointed. The place is clean and comfortable, plenty of tvs for watching all your favorite sports, outdoor seating available, quick and friendly service and the food was fresh and tasty! Will definitely be back! read more

I move Sam's and a LOT of people in Eugene do too!!! It's always busy. The food is good, especially Friday's prime rib dinner. Breakfast is my favorite. Get the breakfast burrito, it's yummy. There are TVs everywhere and the bartenders are so great they will turn it to whatever you want. It's definitely a Duck bar which I love. The thing I think sets Sam's apart is their service. They seem to be well staffed and everyone is super friendly. read more

Sports bar with tvs at tables in addition to the big tvs! It was the perfect place to catch a WNBA game while on a road trip. Service was friendly. Typical bar fare. Really appreciated that it wasn't overly loud so we could chat comfortably while watching the game. read more

We have been going to Sam's Place for 15 + yrs. Since the change in ownership the food has really taken a dive, primarily since the cook for years left. Just had breakfast there again today , the flat iron steak was rare( ordered medium rare) sent back, still bloody rare. The medium egg was crispy around the edges and browned on the back( to me a brown egg is a burnt egg) . the scrambled eggs were cooked great but, the request for cheese was forgotten! Seems like 3 strikes, YOU'RE OUT!! The service was great, the atmosphere is good, but what's a bar without a GOOD cook- mediocre! read more

Haven't been to Sam's place for years! The remodel that they have done over the years is nice and clean. I can't believe my favorite chef is still there Diane! She is the best! The bartenders were really nice and they do tableside service there as well. I definitely recommend heading over there when you're in the area and getting a chef salad! I'll have to come back to try some more food. read more

I came in here for their Friday clam chowder special. It was pretty good to be at a bar. I would recommend it to someone looking for a deal. The service was great, nice and very helpful. They did a remodel inside which looks really nice and definitely looks better than it used to. read more

plenty of tvs and a good menu. Anything you order is good. nice atmosphere. The prices are reasonable too.

We love Sam's Place! You can tell that the people who work there work together very well and love their jobs (or they are faking it very well lol). Even when it's packed they are attentive and happy. The food is amazing! Especially their Philly Steaks. The lemon drops are perfect and I am a critic when it comes to my lemon drops. It's always a great experience! Thanks for all your hard guys and gals! read more

At this point with all my reviews if you haven't come into Sam's for their food you are missing out!! Ordered fingers steaks, with 2 sides- salad & fries. And a crispy chicken wrap with pepper Jack cheese & fries. Delicious. Always great food. Filling and full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Service was good today. Our server was so kind and personable it was nice! Enjoy this spot a lot. For drinks and/ or a meal. Can't go wrong. read more

Their smoked prime rib on Friday night is so good and the portion size is crazy. It comes with a salad and baked potatoes with all the fixens. The bar tenders know how to create excellent beverages that are not over the top with liquor or watered down to where you feel cheated. A bonus they also have is a humidor with a decent selection of cigars along with a covered patio where you can step out and savor your stogie. They also have TVs everywhere for all of your favorite sports. This place is a Eugene treasure. read more

I flew to Eugene for the weekend to attend Colorado-Oregon game. My cousin took me to this excellent place to hang out. It sure has its touch on its best BBQ type Dives. The server has done her job!! I had this amazing prime ribs. Of course it was smoked flavor. I ended up couldn't eat it all. It was twice its size than what my tummy could take. Sorry guys I had to take what's left in a box and ate it for breakfast next day!! It still has smoked tastes left in it. lol!! Anyone visiting Eugene, Oregon. Be sure to stop by and take chance for their Smoked flavored ones!! read more

My husband and I really wanted to go out to breakfast on a Sunday morning but it was a million degrees outside. So the hubby suggested we go to a place that offers a pretty good breakfast and also happens to have no windows. Normally I would find that to be a very odd suggestion but on this particular day it was a genius move. Sam's Place has a very casual vibe. Their mimosa was served in a pint glass. (still yummy though). The walls are covered with TVs airing whatever sports are playing at the moment. They offer the standard American breakfast options like omelettes, eggs with meat, biscuits and gravy, etc. I ordered their veggie omelette and I was actually surprised at how good it was. And I can say that they are very well air conditioned. This would be a great place to have a hangover breakfast at. Would it be weird to say that I may now be looking forward to my next hangover? read more

We loved Sam's on a recent trip to Eugene- it's a totally local, kinda dive, but recently upgraded Super cute backyard area that feels like Florida Great burgers n beers! read more

I've been coming here for years. Since Jim sold earlier this year, Sam's has made a complete dive to the bottom. Recently, I got the French dip, and it was 1/3 of the portion. Today, I got the Sal Jackets, and again 1/3 of the size and portion they used to be. Both items at a greatly decreased size, and increased price. The size of the jackets are the size of a large oyster.Unfortunately, I have to find a new place to call home for Oregon and NFL games. So disappointing. read more

Very good service. Food is always on point. Don't pass this place up!!! Great outside area.

First timer and an outer stater! I highly recommend Sam's Place! Awesome servers and staff and food #nflsundayticket #breakfastspot

Consistent affordable food. (I find the drinks less consistent but the pours are generous). This place definitely has a sports bar vibe with LOTS of TVs and no windows. It is very close to home, so sometimes a great option for an affordable, decent meal. I've honestly never had any food there that I didn't like. But I especially enjoy the potato skin appetizers. Lots of great appetizer options really. We recently tried the fried green beans so we could pretend we were eating healthy and they were delicious. Great place to drop in with friends or watch the game. I kind of wish there were a half star option because I think due to the drinks being inconsistent (service can also be inconsistent, but where is it consistent these days), I would notch it down a half start, but I'm honestly always impressed with their food, so without a half I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and drop 4. read more

Traveling and looking for a nice to place to eat this side of town. The food photos brought me in as I like steaks and salmon. I was delighted with the comfy rustic college town decor with screens everywhere. I really like the table in the bar so I can watch the cooks work etc. The chef happened to be taking photos of the next night's special. When they asked me what I wanted to order I pointed at his dish. He said you can buy this one as it was just cooked:) It was salmon with a creamy mustard sauce partially wrapped in dough. A Salmon "Wellington" if you may. I devoured the salmon, savory bed spinach and potatoes and sipped my well crafted MVP Manhattan. Chris and Kendra at the bar were so welcoming and fun to chat with. Grabbed some cheesecake to go:) Wonderful service (the prices are very reasonable!) amazing food and drinks! Check out their Salmon on Thursdays!! read more

Good food, great service, good atmosphere, but our portions were a little small and the prices were higher than a lot of similar establishments. read more

Nice atmosphere, great service, and many choices on the menu! We will be returning. Great place to watch sports and chill.

I have only been here for breakfast, and Bloody Mary's! They are both quite tasty. I would have to say this is a little hidden gem in the rough industrial neighborhood of Eugene, and if you didn't know about it you wouldn't know it was there. We have gone with friends on a Sunday and let me tell you, they were slammed!! Have patience, enjoy your company, and love the good food!! P.S tip the bar tender! She is awesome! read more

We were very impressed with the food here. The oysters are super good, especially for being a small bar. The booths are really comfortable and they have TVs everywhere for watching whatever sporting event is on. It's kind of like Buffalo Wild Wings but 10000x better food. This is really a hidden gem. read more

Sam's is great in every respect; except the bar stools. A large percentage of Sam's customers are 50+, myself included. Only a small percentage of the bar stools have backs. The backless stools can get very painful after sitting for a very short period of time. Whenever a stool with a back becomes available someone grabs it and drags it clear across the room to wherever they're sitting. I have had to leave several times simply because my back hurts to much to continue sitting on a backless stool. If the owner would at least start changing out the backless stools I think it would be a wise investment in the long run. Can't finish without pointing out that ALL THE EMPLOYEES ARE GREAT. They make a day or evening at Sam's seem like a family event. It's definitely a place "where everyone knows your name". read more

This sports bar won't disappoint, their food is of quality and very well prepared... The owner, Jim, has kept up with updating and is by far the nicest outdoor seating areas in Eugene. He also is a cigar fan and you have a humidor with several options to choose from . The staff is also on top of their game.. I've eaten here with my friends several times ... read more

This bar is the perfect spot to catch a morning game with a wonderful breakfast menu and great service!

I visit Sam's Place from time to time. I met a friend there today for lunch, had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was absolutely perfect. The bun was fresh, the bacon was cooked with just the right amount of chewiness/crispness, the burger was cooked the right amount, the vegetables were fresh. The fries were perfectly cooked, golden brown, crispy and salted to the correct amount. Again, it was just absolutely perfect. The staff there were very friendly and attentive, as usual. read more

I love the food. Tacos are amazing (gringo tacos). Great selection of beer on tap. Plenty of tv to catch the big games !

I must say that this place ROCKS! Great service and friendly atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or just a place to meet up with friends and share a few laughs. I think they've done this sort of thing before, definitely not your dusty corner pub. Keep it real Eugene! read more

Hidden gem. I stayed away for a long because I'm not much for the sports bar vibe and from the road it looks like a dive, but come inside! Rustic, comforting wood work everywhere and warm lighting. Happy, inviting regulars, great wine list, a humidor full of cigars and a heated patio. Check it out! read more

Don't get me wrong, I love a good dive bar but not once but twice there was something stuck to our glass when we were brought our beers the first time was something small but the second was noticeable and gross. I could see it being a good place to watch games but the place is just dirty. read more

Came for lunch...it's my first time here...great little place. Food is ok, I think I just ordered the wrong thing, special turkey mushroom Swiss burger $8. Fries were great and everyone else's food looked great, especially the salads. Lots of people here but no wait. Nice and bright (for a bar) and lots of tv's. I also got some cookies to go, $1.50 for 2, I really liked them. I'll be back to try something else...like prime rib on Friday nights. read more

Went to Sam's late on a Sunday morning October 3rd the service was very poor and slow waited 20 minutes for someone to ask if we needed drinks and menus, the food quality was bad. Super busy this morning and under-staffed early on, but we still received excellent service and our food was delicious and hot as usual!!
