I popped in on a Saturday night, not knowing what to expect. It ended up being a fun and lively place with quality food and drinks. There was loud music playing, mainly old school hip-hop, though it was pleasantly loud, not annoying. There's a covered patio with a pool table, and then another pool table inside, along with some games. One TV was tuned to sports, the other to Australian pro-wrestling. The crowd was diverse, primarily 20s and 30s, with a smattering of 40+. A good amount of people but never too many, and overall a laidback and unpretentious vibe. The bartenders were nice and efficient, with a selection of 15ish beers on tap. I thoroughly enjoyed my mozzarella sticks and my buddy loved his Texas bbq burger. The food was made with care and didn't take long to come out. I appreciated the big parking lot. I'll be back at some point! read more

My husband and I are longtime fans of The Good Times - we live in Portland but come to town often, and we always make a point to stop in. We've been regulars for years now, and it's been one of our go-to places because the vibe is usually welcoming and laid-back. Almost everyone here has always been nice, friendly, and easy to connect with. That said, I feel like I need to be honest about a recurring issue with one staff member - Heather. The first time we ever came in, Heather asked me to move from a spot at the bar, saying I was "blocking" customers from ordering (which, okay, I moved, no problem). But not even 20 minutes later, a guy (that clearly, apparently to be her's friend) sat in the exact same spot and wasn't asked to move. I didn't say anything, but it definitely felt inconsistent. Fast forward to earlier today... We were at the bar (quiet at the time, just us), and we ordered a drink. When Heather asked for the name on the tab, he gave his and joked, "C'mon, you don't remember us?" - Just being light and friendly, because she has seen us many times. Instead of a simple "Sorry, I don't remember," or even just a shrug, she snapped back, "I'm a human, not an AI," in a very rude manner and kept going on with this awkward energy. Eventually she said something like "Sorry for making you uncomfortable," and honestly? We were just confused at that point. After that exchange, my husband tried to get her attention for a second drink and was totally ignored for over 30 minutes. He tried multiple times, and she just never checked in or looked our way. That part was pretty frustrating. We've never felt like a burden to any other staff here, and as regulars, it just felt off. I don't like to leave negative notes about people, but this isn't a one-off moment anymore. If you're in customer service and having a bad day, it's okay to step back - but randomly treating people who support your bar like an annoyance isn't it. Had horrible service tonight. I came in with a group of people, younger 22-23 year olds everyone's IDs were checked and let in , but when we went to order out drinks they said "they couldn't serve 3 of our 7 people. I'm not the type of person to claim racism, but the three people that were denied where all minorities, while the other for of us were white. It seems as though it was either racial or they have no faith in the way they check IDs. Will not be coming back that's for sure. read more

The french fries were delicious and the service is great. Super and friendly staff. The burger has great combination of flavors, but patty itself is a hockey puck. I got the recommended Bacon Blue Burger. I think if the burger came out you juicy, not overdone, it would have been pretty good. Very dry. I really like the atmosphere. I actually really like this place. Sort of an interesting location being where the 99 meets the highway entrance right at the edge of downtown... parking entrances on either side. First time (a couple years ago) we visited was taco Wednesday. They were delicious. I also got finger steaks that night but I wasn't terribly impressed with those. We knew we liked it that night but then didn't go back again until this week. Darn it we should've. I really enjoy the food here. Environment is really a bar. But the booths for eating are nice. There's a patio that is well used in nicer weather. Sports on TV's throughout the location. Darts, pool, etc are available... I like the variety of appetizers. We got fried zucchini this time but they have tots, fries, hummus, fried mozzarella, mac n cheese wedges, mini chimichangas, nachos (which I hear are fantastic but I couldn't eat by myself and no one else wanted with me). Fried zucchini are crispy... small little things kinda like fries and were very very good! Dad got the Hog burger this time and it was fairly disappointing. Only it did have all the toppings (burger, ham, pulled pork, bacon and cheese) just was short for all the toppings lol the flavor was awesome so that's good... we just expected it to be an inch thick lol Mom good the French dip. It was tender, has great flavor and a good portion of meat. The au jus had a bit of an onion flavor which was yummy. The side salads with both that and the burger were fresh and a pretty good portion. The blue cheese dressing was good as well. I got the philly cheesesteak... primarily because they use the cream cheese as is properly done in philly. Iasked for mushrooms which they happily added. I wish there was more, I wish they put mushrooms on it automatically, and I wish they had a cheese sauce not sliced swiss cheese. The meat was the same for this one. It's like prime rib I think. Thin sliced. I got tots... and they were delicious. I also got an order of mini corn dogs to go. Those were great too. Service was fantastic from both the chef, who brought out our food, and the server. She was friendly and upbeat. It was very busy so once we wanted to order it took awhile to get assistance again but just know it's a bar and so if people are ordering and needing drink service, they will be served first ya know? Every single time I go there for a few drinks, they magically come up with a number or tack on a mighty hefty tip for themselves. My bill plus tip was around $40. By the time it goes through, it's up to $65-70. They're crooks, so ask for an itemized receipt or ask to see the screen. Every. Single. Time. I've gone in there at happy hour, ordered two $4 beers, and tipped $2. The next day, it was a $24 purchase, not $10. ​Try to go out for a good time, and they'll rob you blind. They even took out the dart board in favor of Video Poker. Avoid this place and you will be better off than wasting your money on this once cherished venue. Good Times is my favorite watering hole hands down. I know this is my 3rd re-review, however they deserve the 5th star. The drinks are always on point, the service is immaculate, we're always greeted by our first names, they know our drinks, they know HOW to make our drinks, and this goes a long way in the service industry. I feel like a dick for not giving them 5 stars sooner, because to me, they're one of the few 5 star bars in the Eugene area. This concludes my 3rd re-review, and this one will more than likely stand for quite a while. They've been bulletproof the past 9 years we've lived here, and I cant see things changing for the worse any time soon. We ordered the Thai chicken wings, and the teriyaki chicken skewers. Oh yeah, my guy always gets a chicken wrap. He loves it here. So my opinion of the skewers were just ok! And I chowed down the wings! They were some quality wings! I really wanted another flavor that they had on the menu, but they were out of it. This one was pretty good for this wing nut! Two stars until the waitress got off shift and didn't mention it....then just one star. So let's see.... I had trouble finding anything that sounded decent on the menu. I persevered. I had a 25 dollar groupon and planned on using it. We ordered the aloha bowl, the pot stickers (with chili pepper dipping sauce and Asian slaw) and the chicken Skewers (with Asian slaw). This put us at 24.75. After some wait we are informed they are out of Asian slaw. I got egg drop soup and tots instead. The food is served...Wrong bowl but quickly remedied once pointed out (table swap), no spoon for the soup and no dipping sauce for pot stickers. Haven't seen the waitress since we were told about the lack of slaw. She's at the bar having a beer. Off duty. So what happens now? We are out of water and I was waiting patiently to ask her for soy sauce. Fill your own water and the bartender gets the soy sauce...duh. The bowl was cold. The potstickers were dry and the sauce tasted like sweet and sour. The skewer was just OK. Egg drop soup was Almost like chicken noodle ( had celery in it). No waitress ever took over for our table. Went here for the first time yesterday. There weren't many people, which I'm sure was due to the holiday weekend. I would consider being a regular here. It has a good vibe. Very spacious. The outdoor area is great. My bf and I went here around 2pm, and we were warm enough with our light jackets and the heaters above. Bonus points for having multiple table fireplaces. There were at least six TVs outside, too. Perfect for watching sports. There was also a pool table outdoors. The indoor was good, too. There was a pool table and jet pong arcade game. There were a few video lotteries as well. I forgot the exact specifics, but the bartender said that happy hour is all day basically on Sundays when football is on. The women's bathroom has only one stall, but it was clean. Just a typical bar bathroom. We didn't try the food but the menu looked like it had a fair amount of choices for a fair price. Good Times is a sports bar. Nothing less, nothing more. On our way down to the coast for a long weekend, it was time to get some lunch and we decided to stop in Eugene. One friend had been here before. He knew where it was and we really didn't want to waste time looking for a place to eat. A few beers were ordered and the menu was perused. I decided on a French Dip. Not sure why. Can't say I was even in the mood for a French Dip, but I hadn't had one in a long time and wanted a burger or a wrap less. The menu is dominated by sandwiches. Your usual suspects. The meat on the sandwich was a bit dry. Guess that is what the au jus is for. Pretty inexpensive though at $6.25 so that lifted this sandwich up a bit. There is better food to be had in Eugene. It is a college town. If you are near here, you'll get a standard meal. If you want to explore around town more, the payoff should be better. read more

Premise: if I hadn't found a feather (really f*cking weird find) in my sweet potato fries this would have been a solid four star rating. We went to Good Times tonight for the superbowl and it lived up to it's name. Great drinks specials and friendly service from the bar staff. $3 drop tops were consumed...$1 off for service industry folks on Sundays making them $2. Hell yeah for me! We ordered lunch, Jae had nachos and I had a southwestern burger with sweet potato fries. My entree was tasty (minus the mystery feather) and Jae enjoyed her nachos. Neither were extraordinary, just typical bar fare. We sat on the porch next to some heat lamps and yelled at the t.v. for a few hours. We made some new friends and "good times" were had by all. The bar was well staffed and even had folks taking orders and clearing unused food/drink stuff from the tables. My only complaints were the feather and the old t.v.s. Stopped in here for some food and a few drinks when we were heading up to Autzen Stadium for the Cal/Oregon game and "Good Times" (womp womp) were had by all. Honestly, there's nothing particular that really stands out about this place. They do have a LOT of beers on tap, which is always a major plus. I had an Apocalpse IPA (wanted to try it at the bar we came to before here but they were tapped out) and it was delicious. We ordered nachos and cheesy tots and the tots in particular were delicious! They weren't on the menu, but two of the girls I was with asked if they still made them (they are both from Eugen) and they do. They're not tots covered with cheese, but STUFFED with cheese. Yum. The nachos were good as well. We had a large group, and service was a bit slow. However most of the booths are right by the bar so it wasn't a big deal to order drinks from there when our waitress was busy. read more

a day agoNEW I am choosing to stay as anonymous as possible while posting this review due to the fact that I was a regular customer at Good Times. I am fully aware "the bar scene" has it's fair amount of illegal activity but to my surprise this particular employee I have witnessed on several occasions, without any regard to discretion, willingly accept small ziplock baggies containing a white powder substance from various customers. As I previously stated I was a regular customer until I made the decision to bring my family members from out of town to Good Times only to be embarrassed when we all witnessed this bartenders illegal behavior. I would hope this kind of behavior is not the standard Good Times has for itself but given the lack of regard he (the bartender) had for anyone else in the vicinity says otherwise to me. On that note there have been several situations more recently were I have felt my safety and the safety of others was in jeopardy which the drug deals made by this bartender only adds to that fear. Perhaps Devin or Dave which it is could take his illegal business deals elsewhere maybe that would change the new crowd of people that seem to frequent the establishment. I realize this is simply a yelp review and nothing will probably come out of it but I will be sure to let my friends and family know the dangers of visiting the business. read more

Good bar to catch a Duck game. The place is crawling in flat screens, and it gets packed with sports fans. Stick with the beer. They don't pour drinks right. It's frustrating trying to get drunk off of cocktails while you watch them under-pour every time. It might help if they remember your face, but they're not helping my desire to return any.
