It wasn't super busy. The area around the bar was full, a couple booths had people, and maybe two of the tables had people. My wife and I saw two open booths, but one of them had dishes that needed to be cleared, so we took the other one. It was sticky, sadly. It is possible they had just cleared it before we arrived, but who knows. There were two female bartenders. It took about 5 minutes before anyone said hello. I had already gone up and gotten us menus. When someone did stop by, she didn't know the specials. We had looked them up, but had a question she didn't know the answer to. She left to look it up. She came back 4 or 5 minutes later amd by them we were able to bring up the specials on our phone (reception is bad there). We were able to place our orders. Ambiance is fine, but looks more dive bar-ish than the photos on their site. Photos show a lot more light in the room than it has. Food was okay.Took about 20 or so minutes. I got a burger. Ketchup there isn't very good, but burger was cooked well. My wife got cheese quesasillia. We make them at home in a fraction of the time. My wife did get the special drink that came in a special cup that we took home for St. Patty's Day. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. There wasn't anything compelling to bring me back, either. The drink my wife got was fine (she enjoyed the plastic take-home cup). Food was so-so. Really, there just isn't anything that sets Shooter's apart from anyplace else. The ambiance isn't special nor particularly inviting, food is basic for the price they charge, and the service is... serviceable, but nothing stellar. If someone suggested to go back, I would go, but I'd lower my expectations as it is rather run of the mill in my opinion.

Also, the smokers area appears to be on this same stairway (yikes) I had to charge through the heavy smoke. With that being said. These stairs actually meant a couple friends/veterans; one on crutches and one in a wheelchair could not come up and join us. That really bummed us out. Would be wonderful, if they could figure out the accessibility thing someday, even just a ramp. And of course the obvious of taking out the smokers area on this stairwell (perhaps remove the butt cans & sign to stop this ) ?? Just a suggestion..... This place appears to have reliable food and priced fairly; (I will be back for that prime Rib)! The only downside., No desserts offered. It got me thinking.. I really appreciate how many Eugene restaurants source desserts from local bakeries. It's such a great way to support the community (major morale booster!). The decor feels arbitrary and hasn't grown in the 3 years between my visits. The bartop is tiny despite plenty of wide open space in the venue, adding to that empty feeling. But it's the only tiki bar for miles and it has a unique tiki + horror theme that I appreciate: emphasizing creepy mugs, playing vintage Godzilla on the TV, and a collection of drinks named after monsters. They also have custom mugs for sale, which is always awesome to see. My partner enjoyed her Chinese Mai Tai, but my Bride of Frankenstein tasted like light cream. The service was good. They were professional and personable and bantered well with everyone around the bar. There seemed to be plenty of regulars making the rounds in the early afternoon. So if you're in Eugene and want a tiki drink, this is the place to go.

Last time we came for brunch, we noticed the eggs Benedict no longer has the amazing Parmesan-crusted potatoes. The hollandaise is still decent and the focaccia bread is great, but losing that crispy crust was a big bummer. Today's visit for our usual wings and nachos was even more frustrating. First, they no longer offer ground beef for the nachos. We were told we could substitute steak, but that literally doubles the price of the dish. We opted for chicken instead, which was a steep $7 extra for maybe two ounces of meat. When the nachos arrived, they looked like low-effort, homemade oven nachos with just melted cheddar on top. The whole thing was fused together into one giant sheet of chips; we had to break it apart and manually pile the toppings back onto the chips ourselves. It was really weird. The biggest letdown, though, was the wings. It used to be a solid order of six traditional flats and drums. Today, we paid $14 for just four pieces, and they weren't even wings--they were frenched chicken thighs. Subbing a completely different, lower-quality cut of meat without telling the customer is false advertising, and they turned out dry. Plus, the sauce has changed from a traditional Frank's-style buffalo to a harsh cayenne sauce. Between the wings and the nachos, today's total came out to $34--and $40 with a tip. Paying premium prices for dry thigh meat, overpriced add-ons, and a block of fused-together nachos makes it really hard to justify coming back. I'm not sure if North Fork got bought out or what, but I really don't see a point in returning.

It is located in the corner of a lot with a number of other businesses so you may miss it at first, but it's worth finding it! The layout is spacious with a bunch of different picnic tables and seats at the bar. They have a video game set-up as well as board games/cards available to enjoy along with your beer and whatever big game is on the TV. They also had a great selection of beer on tap and a bunch of different options in cans available for purchase. On top of all that, the two owners were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like regulars despite us being a couple of out-of-towners just stopping by. If we lived in the area, we would definitely stop by often but we will just have to make it a regular stop next time we are in Eugene!

The Prairie Schooner Tavern has a very down to earth feel, as you walk in you walk right into the main seating area on the ground level, you will also find a few slot machines and the bar top. The building has an elevated seating area in an L shape that overlooks the lower seating area, at one time the main floor was a dance floor. The walls are covered with amazing retro pictures, you are taken back to the 70's including the wood grain walls. We were greeted right away, by a very friendly staff member, we sat in his usual spot. They have a huge menu to choose from, you will find many burgers, sandwiches, broasted chicken, pork, steaks and seafood. If your in the mood for breakfast they have some great choices. We ordered the Smokey meat,bacon cheeseburger and steak fries. A great tasting patty, perfectly cooked, with lots of pickles and lettuce, the steak fries are huge and amazing. My father in law had the chicken strip basket with a salad, the strips were huge as well as a nice size salad. We enjoyed the food so much we returned for breakfast the next day. I ordered the bacon, two eggs, hashbrown and two huge pancakes. I only had one pancake, I took the other one home. The price of the food was very reasonable. It may not look like much from the outside of the tavern but, its a diamond in the ruff.
