Had some good drinks at this bar in downtown Eugene. It was one of the few things good. Jameson's is cramped and full of some loud ass knuckleheads. Can be a good place to watch a game in the afternoon. The bar gets totally super crowded later and it takes forever to get anything from the one bartender they have, if you get any service. Better to go here earlier anyway. It's got happy hour. This is every day from 12 to 7, and includes playing free pool. A good way to get drinks cheaper. It's about $8 for whiskey at regular price. First time here and we wondered what to get. Hmm, if only there was a hint. They have cheap ass beers to top shelf liquors. Basically there's something for everyone. The crowds make for lots of waiting and not much room for hanging. Good place as far as cocktails. It's pretty cramped, and some things need to be fixed. The worst place around here for using the bathroom because the door won't lock, so ladies be careful of the frat boys thirsting. read more

BOUNCERS SUCK This place claims to be queer friendly, it's not. Some group told the bouncer that a "group of transgenders" were using the bathrooms so he had to come investigate (we talked to the bartender and she said that was verbatim what was said). The entire "investigation" was just walking in on me using the bathroom. Despite all my friends telling him no, our friend is in there he's just using the bathroom. ***!!!ASSAULTED BY BOUNCER!!!*** Worst bar experience of my life. A bouncer got physically violent with me for using the wrong restroom. Without trying to talk or listen to me he put my arms behind my back and pushed me throughout the bar telling me not to resist or he'll "PUT ME TO SLEEP" Then tried to throw me to the ground outside of the bar. This place is TERRIBLE. I walked in with a pride hat on and they wouldn't let me in! This bouncer discriminated against me so hard. He let two of my friends in and then saw my hat and claimed we were all drunk and had to leave. It's kind of surprising for Eugene, Oregon. You would think we were in some town in Alabama or something. This place SUCKS. Which is unfortunate cause it's so cute. The bouncer needs to get more training or maybe just fired for being a clown . This is a great dive bar. It seems that a lot of people tend to come here to pregame. Weekdays tend to die down around 9ish. They have plenty of space to play pool, gamble or even hang out outside on their patio. I enjoy the atmosphere here. It's very relaxed and chill. Great place to hang out with friends or watch the game. The bar is pretty big and they have a big couch seating area. They will occasionally have a tasting going on as well. They have a full menu which gets delivered to you from the food cart across the steet so the food is always amazing. Great spot! read more

My wife and I visited after attending a night of theatre nearby - we sat at the counter, and were impressed by the service from the bartenders and bar back on a moderately busy night. More than all the normal reasons to enjoy the good vibes of this bar - one of the bartenders (a jovial guy in a thrasher hat) responded almost unilaterally to every request with a hearty, "hell yeah, brother!" I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The bouncers are so incredibly rude. They kicked my friend out, saying she was "too drunk" when she wasn't. We went back the following weekend hoping that experience would be better but it wasn't. They threatened my friend, telling her she would be arrested if she came back since she asked them why she was kicked out the weekend before. I will never go back and I highly encourage nobody else to go. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. This place is a joke and the bouncers are ASSHOLES. read more

Came here on a late weeknight to have drinks with friends. It was one of the few options left that was open after 10pm that wasn't too divey. There was very few people because again, late weeknight. I wouldn't be able to provide an accurate description of how it is on the weekend but it has the space to host numerous patrons. Street parking. Clean environment in comparison to other bars. Has a couple pool tables. Plenty of seating at the bar or booths. There's also an outdoor patio area. Friendly bartender who was helpful with selecting a drink. Limited wine options if that's what you're going for. Decent selection of microbrews. Had a blackberry cider that was great, not too tart or dry. Went to the bar to get an extra drink with some friends after a work night out. I placed a shot glass on top of the bartenders stack, and the stack fell, which broke multiple glasses. I would have been happy to help pay for the broken glass, but the tender (glasses, skinny white guy) had an aggressive attitude and horrible service and kicked us out of the bar (only because of the glass.) Will never buy from the bar or recommend again. Go to any of the bars downtown instead. read more

DIsclaimer: I'm a new kid in town. I spent the last several years in San Francisco so my vision is blurred and viewpoint skewed. I prefer my bars divey and unpretentious, where my drinks are guaranteed cheap and stiff and I can have a good time without worrying about being judged or well, me judging others. That said, Jameson's is the only bar I've been in Eugene so far and when I first walked in, my instinct was to wrinkle my nose in skepticism. It was too clean, too tastefully decorated; it didn't have 'a smell'. In my head, these were tell-tale red flags that: 1. I will not be able to afford to drink here. 2. I expect to see young patrons with too much disposable credit who yell 'WOOOO' every five minutes to commemorate their weak shot, a titty flash or just their general assholery. Forgive my terribly inaccurate prejudgment. I've been here a few times now on a weeknight and I have been nothing but delighted. In the Ci-tay by The Bay, I would ask for a Bulleit on the rocks and would typically receive it in a standard 'rocks' glass stuffed with ice, tamped down with the ice scoop, and charged anywhere from $6-$9. Maybe, maybe if they liked me or I were at the right place they'd put it in a 'bucket' glass. At Jameson's? So far, my precious bourbon has been tended to me in a bucket every time, NOT heavy on the ice and I'm charged $4.75. Can you appreciate how far 90-proof bourbon goes whilst served in a bucket and not crammed with ice? I'm a cheap date for the first time since...oh. Ever. The clientele is a fine mix of younger and older, no pretentious or obnoxious 'scene' and they all possess an air of pleasantness. Also, the ladies' room is clean enough, there's the patio for smokin' (albeit the fake, plastic tractor seats creak threateningly) and there is plenty of comfy inside seating and spaciousness. read more

I love this bar! It reminded me of Nihon Whiskey Lounge in SF. The lighting is absolutely perfect! The whole place is just sultry and loungey. I was definitely underdressed, especially considering I literally just woke up and left the house -___- The place is huge with plenty of seating area, tables, and pool. They also have an outdoor patio area where you can smoke. It was pretty packed but I was always able to find a place to sit! The crowd really runs the gamut from college kids, international students, and 50 year old men. That is either a plus or a minus to some of you guys but I think it just means its a place where everyone can feel comfortable! I got a vodka coke (I know its a horrible combo but my friend got it for me). It was pretty cheap. $3-4 dollars. Their beers are really cheap too. I wish we could've stayed longer here! read more

Where do lawyers go after passing the Bar? Why to the bar of course! Jameson's has a large demographic of lawyers who frequent during the daylight hours. You can (damn well) trust in a lawyer's taste for picking a bar Regulars are poured well here (and by default, well is poured unless you ask for something different, h'yuck.) I think the pool is free til 9:00 - two tables worth with straight queues. It's right on the corner of batshit and crazy - a lot of young transient types make that corner home during the summer. Plenty of chances to witness an idiotic driver, or a cop making an arrest as well. You might even see someone jump the fence in order to grab a cig butt and then later mock you for being a yuppy. Entertainment, folks. Great bar for grabbing a drink after work, but leave it alone on Friday & Saturday night. read more

Its pretty weak when you sit at the bar for 10 minutes with ou being acknowledged by a bar tender when theres for on staff and its hardly busy. Drinks werent up to par asked for a moscow mule was give vodka and ginger ale no simple syrup so muddling i could of done with the ginger ale and been happy if the bar tender would have at least made an attempt. 1/5 Next drink whiskey sour, tasted like mostly sour mix no cherry of any kind or garnish again low attempt at a cocktail. Alright........This place is O.K. For some reason im not totally sold on it. They have great service for sure, and some limited taps.....but as for last night, they had some good deals (which was a Saturday night). They had 1.00 off wells and micros, PBR's for 1.75, and another special that i cant recall right now. I was trying to yelp it from the bar on my new phone, but i wasn't able to make a draft, so i lost it...!%!^!&@#&$^%$! The place is very dark and RED, the bathrooms are not very practical. I did think it was interesting how they brought in an army of graffiti artists and tagged the bathrooms. Mens room has 1 urinal and 1 toilet. They're about 2 ft away from each other and there's NOTHING blocking the 2 from each other. So that's great.....You walk in to break the seal, and there's some guy with his face 2 feet away from your ass. They do have Mac and Jacks African amber, which I'm a fan of. But I do have to say, they made the WORST margarita I've ever tried in my whole life. I tired my wife's and COULD NOT believe that was an actual drink. It seriously tasted like a screwdriver. I've never seen so much OJ in a margarita. And OJ has no place in my drinks, unless it's a Sunday with champagne! So overall, the help was really nice and friendly, but I just didn't enjoy myself there. read more

Pros: - Good drinks. - Good music. - Cute lighting and decor. It's a nice looking bar in general. Cons - Bartenders and bouncers are kind of hipsters that don't talk to anyone unless they already know them. I felt weird even introducing myself. They are kind of the "don't talk to me unless you want something" and "I'm better than you" type. - Gross bathroom. I like this bar a lot more on the week nights.
