I hadn't been to Blairally in years! Live music on a Thursday night, count me in! I went to a show The Gold Souls, $10 at the door or online for $8. I actually went alone, yes I had a fantastic time! Being a single woman out at a club alone in Eugene in this area of town. I actually felt super safe and had no issues! The venue, everyone was super chill and the vibe was on point. I had so much fun dancing the night away and met a lot of great people. It wasn't that crowded and the bartender was great! Checked make sure I was good on drinks through out the night. So glad I went. I was apprehensive based on other reviews about safety being alone. I didn't witness any predatory behavior towards women at all. I'm not a big bar person but it's fun to go to places with activities to do. I like playing the pinball machines. There is a wide variety of pinball machines from over the decades. I find the old ones fascinating. There are also a bunch of different arcade games, but I'm not any good at those. We like going in the summer when they have music outside. This is a regular haunt for me and my friends & We particularly love 80's night every Friday night. I've only ever had great nights here and even days when I come to just play arcade games and drink a Coke. The staff is quick and competent. I appreciate their patience so much, they're all really great at Blair so show them some love by tipping your bar tenders and picking up your empty's! My husband and I love coming here on date days where we go out Eugene and come here eventually to play games! Would give it five stars but a lot of games last time were out of order and there are definitely some improvements that could be made. Lost the dark moody atmosphere, games are inexpensive and the bartenders have all been great to me even when creepy people try to both me they're very kind to help discreetly. Let me start with I love (loved) this bar. Been coming here for years and it's honestly the safest place I've had in the Eugene area since moving here in 2020. The bouncer is the problem. Sadly, the reason I won't be returning in the future is this bouncer. I can't tell if he's homophobic, transphobic or straight up misogynistic. He wears a vest with patches, black pants, and a receding hairline. The last 3 Friday nights I've attended he has straight up screamed at and threatened my friends, denied entry to multiple queer presenting people (of age might I add) and been extremely aggressive towards queer presenting patrons. He has consistently harassed women and queer presenting people. This is a problem and it needs to be addressed. The bar doesn't seem to care about this issue which is extremely upsetting considering the demographic of this area. Don't go to this bar if you're queer or a woman. If I could leave less than a one star, I would for the customer service and treatment we received. A couple of my friends and I arrived last night for 80s night. The bouncer checked our IDs and bent all of them in half, leaving my girlfriends with a permanent crease. This is her Montana State-issued driver's license and REAL ID, which is needed for domestic flights. We tried to resolve the issue with the bar staff, and the person we were told was the manager and he laughed in our faces when we asked them to cover the cost of a new one. Excessive damage to a real ID renders it nearly useless at airports. We were first just looking for an apology but were told to blame the state of Montana rather than their bouncer bending it fully in half, closing it in between thumb and pointer finger. We came back asking for compensation, and the manager laughed at us and said it was Montana's fault again, even though it was their fault that her ID now has a permanent crease and would not be accepted at TSA because of the lack of readability. This is a very hip Barcade in downtown Eugene that I highly recommend all ages to come to for fun while drinking. I came here with my in-laws on a cold day in hopes of finding something fun to do. And I found it! Little did I know that Blairally would be full of so many old arcade games that the older folks would be into. They have tons of games some of which use physical activity, such as ski ball and a bowling game. My personal favorites are pinball games, which they had a plethora of and that was all I needed. I love this place. It's the perfect dive bar, there's vintage games and well priced drinks, they have awesome bands and fun events like the wrestling put on last night that was an absolute scream. But more importantly, from the perspective of being a woman, the bathroom experience is top notch. Why? Because it's easy to access and not shoved in some creepy corner, it feels safe, you can draw in chalk on the stalls and every single time I've ever been there the women in the bathroom are fun and sociable. That tells me the crowd that goes into this place is fun all around, looks out for each other, is highly tolerant and accepting, really diverse, and knows how to have a good time. They took a chair from a disabled person. Age discrimination and indifference runs high at this once fun place to dance. I've been coming to this venue for many years now. Though I haven't been back since the monthly soul night moved to a new location, and now, I understand why they left too. Out of nowhere, two staff men started to remove tables and chairs from around the dance floor. The staff men offered no alternatives or options for us to keep our coats and drinks while we danced on the dance floor. When I told the man that I was disabled and needed at least the chair to rest on, without skipping a beat, he said, "too bad, it's gotta go," without even offering to compromise or remedy the situation. They just spitefully told us to remove our things or we will be thrown out. I called him an uncompassionate a$$hole. He turned around, grabbed my drink and threw me out. Great place with great folks working there. I personally don't hang out there much because it's very loud and happening on a Friday or Saturday night, but that's just my personal preference. Everybody seems to be having a good time, I've had fun dancing there, folks were friendly and I trusted that if I ever had an issue w somebody there that the staff would take care of it. Great addition to the neighborhood, I'm happy they're here and people love them, so five stars even though I myself rarely choose to go there. As of recently, Blairally now concocts hard liquor creations! This place was awesome when it just served beer (and I'm no beer enthusiast), but it's infinitely more awesome now that I can indulge in a delicious drink before conquering PacMan. Don't hesitate to ask for drink recommendations; the bartender is extremely knowledgeable, and suggested a ginger ale type of alcoholic beverage that tasted exquisite. I'm definitely ordering it the next time I visit. If you work closing shifts like me, or just have a hectic day schedule, you'll love the late hours here. The last time I stopped by was around 10:00 on a Sunday night, and the place was still poppin'. Nakasi brewery is right next door but at 11pm already closed on Friday so I assume that's the reason for the crowd. They had a row of free pinball machines, and $4 beers! Blairally is a great "vintage destination" for lovers of 1960-1990 arcade gaming and music. My wife and I came here to celebrate the passing of a friend and the atmosphere was just what we needed. The games are great and have an ample pinball selection. I do wish they had some more arcade games but I'm sure they will always be expanding. The have galaga and super Mario Bros so I was occupied nonetheless. But these aren't why I gave them 4 stars. They're menu is legit. Essentially everything bu their pizzas is 5$... FIVE bucks for bar food in a small dive and it's not just fried this and that. Not to mention $1.00 tacos on Taco Tuesday. It was awesome. Food quality is what you'd expect but for the price and where you're actually at it's not bad at all. We spent 20$ on games and 45$ on food AND drinks. 7 drinks and some tacos with tots. The other amazing thing is that their games aren't marked up. 25 cents plays every vintage game in the bar. The only arcade bar I have been to to top this place is the Coin Jam in Salem. You wouldn't know what was there or even that it was there if ya didn't know it was there (am I makin sense here?) *There was a good 20? games (which isn't bad for a start up), but they were all cramped in a very small space. You get a tourney rollin. It's gonna get sweaty. Now, don't get me wrong, I love grown sweaty men BUT we need full control over those joysticks and buttons. Things could get slippery around there.. Best pinball action in Eugene right now! The Location isn't exactly completely open to the public right now, except for select nights like the Last Friday Artwalk, but it is growing steadily every week. Their collection of vintage arcade games is incredible, and it is quickly becoming the superfun place to be in the neighborhood. They will be hosting pinball tournaments that will rival those in Portland. Their machines are in tip-top shape--even a couple pinballs from the early 70s. I'm not a huge fan of the Whittaker (sorry if I spelled that wrong) neighborhood.. over the years it's been dangerous but recently I was told it has been getting better and it's the 'place to be.' We drove through the area and found the Blairally Vintage Arcade and immediately was curious, the location of the building is near a few popular breweries, and the building itself was interesting. When we walked in it was a lot larger than I had expected, there were so many arcade games and it was a bar. It was daytime which I had seen kids there, I liked that they allowed kids there. I'm not sure but I'm assuming come evening at a certain time nobody under 21 is able to come in. There were mainly pinball machines of all different kinds which were awesome to see. The variety of all vintage games were awesome. They were only .25¢ to .50¢ and we came across a lot of the games that already had credits in it. I found this place on Yelp, desperate to make my husband's big birthday something to remember my 49, going on 10 year old. I left a message and Chief was on it, text me, we even went over plans, made it happen and they were as great as the location! The games were awesome!
