This was our last stop after a long day of eating and drinking all over downtown. I'm glad we decided to check it out because it was super fun. Some of the games were free while others you had to pay for. They had super retro games like Tetris and Super Mario Brothers as well as pinball machines and air hockey. The cocktails were fairly priced and tasted decent. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you are in the area. Oh and there wasn't any cover charge!

a table with drinks and snacks

incredible bartende poor guy doing the job of three WITHOUT hesitation, or any complaints. Flawless. nothing but respect what a great place for parents to bring their kids and actually relax. this bartender though! above and beyond. give this man a raise!!! (No he didn't over pour, perfect count)

It's okay. Decent pinball selection and a few good video games. Staff were nice. Patrons were bizarre and unfriendly.

We were seated accordingly but were then moved to the back of the room where no one was because our friend laughed too loudly. When we inquired why...we were told the comedian was too sensitive. WHAT? We are incredibly easy people. Docile, easy, etc. we asked the "worker" and he stated that the comedian is literally too sensitive and will walk off the stage if you laugh too loud and that they need to build contacts to build their business. One positive, the onion rings were good. So come here for that?... Zero points for me. I will NEVER be back here. UPDATE: I was approached by workers who stated they saw my review and said we were no longer welcome.

We decided to pay premium ticket prices, and upon seating we were ushered to the far back where no one else was. We were not given an explanation other than our friend had a loud laugh. (Not heckling, just a naturally loud laugh) We felt wronged due to the fact that we were a group who wished to buy drinks, food and enjoy a comedy show; however, at the end of the night, we were told that the comedian would not appreciate our friends laugh and would walk off the stage. (Odd behavior and not fitting for a comedian.) Apparently, the comedian was very sensitive and made us recluse to the background. This was a very disappointing experience. All our friend did was laugh. No refund offered btw. He does have a deep laugh, but so what. That is the point of comedy. The fact that he was asked to sit back in the very last row, is not fair and allows me to write this as a less than a star. I would never recommend this certain spot to anybody who wants to have a good night on a weekend. I wish I could give less than a 1 star review. I'll never go to this club again. The atmosphere is dark and not very classy where you wait for the show to begin. Finally, they ushered us into a room that was more appropriate, however not much better. Seriously, Less than one star. Do anything but go to. Get a pizza. Stay home. Just avoid this place with the "ownership." We weren't offered refunds for our premium tickets when we were put to the back of the room. Worse, the owner or manager came back once our friend posted a one star review. No joke, he came over and said, "She just gave a one star review kick them out." Well, that's not the only one star review buddy. Treat your patrons better and don't single out and embarrass them. Not once did they attempt to make it right.

Starlight Lounge: Where Eugene's Secret Broadway Rejects Serenade You (And It's Weirdly Good)…read more Gave the Starlight Lounge a whirl last Sunday for their karaoke night. Expectations were set somewhere between "drunken caterwauling" and "mildly painful nostalgia." Color me... surprised! Let's cut to the chase: the *talent* here. Eugene, who knew? Several performers weren't just "good for karaoke," they were legitimately, bafflingly excellent. Like, "should probably be charging admission or at least bothering Broadway agents" levels. One individual in particular possessed the kind of voice that makes you wonder why they're belting show tunes in a dimly lit Eugene bar on a Friday and not, you know, on a stage where people pay actual money. It was impressively non-awful. Actually, scratch that. It was great. Shockingly so. Drinks? Perfectly serviceable. Major points for the extensive non-alcoholic menu. They seemed genuinely willing to de-booze pretty much anything on request, which is handy if you're the designated listener to Eugene's hidden musical theatre gems. Staff were friendly enough, didn't seem phased by the slightly goth-adjacent vibe the place cultivates. Points for atmosphere. The singer's area wins for comfort - actual couches you can sink into while contemplating the life choices that led that phenomenal voice. The DJ deserves a medal. Actively prowling the darker corners of the bar, gently coercing the shy into public performance? Effective. Almost concerningly so. They offer food (didn't try it, smelled... present), and there are the obligatory video gambling machines for those who enjoy losing money slightly more efficiently. Now, the rating. 3+ stars.*** Why not higher? Look, it's a solid experience. Friendly, talented, comfortable, good drinks (alcoholic or not). But it's the Starlight Lounge, not the Met. Manage expectations. It's a pleasantly nice hidden gem, truly. Emphasis on gem but also on hidden and possibly on the faint scent of... well, I didn't try the women's restroom this time. That particular adventure, and its potential to swiftly terminate an evening "May or may" not determine if one needs to head home cause she's unable to use a disgusting toilet) is reserved for my next visit. A critical data point, one might say. Overall- Surprisingly excellent karaoke talent (seriously), good drinks (booze-free options aplenty), comfy vibe, proactive DJ. Minus points for existential questions raised by the talent pool's location and the looming bathroom inspection. **3+ stars. Good job, guys. Keep it up! P.S: it was ass FREE less the drinks etc... SCORE! 3 out of 5 = Good Job Helping hands; improve and attract more customers. 1. Partner with Downtown Hotels: Drop off flyers/promo cards at hotel concierge desk highlighting your surprisingly Broadway-level karaoke and extensive mocktail menu - perfect for tourists looking for unique, non-club nightlife. 2. Advertise Themed Nights in "The Weekly": Run simple, recurring ads or event listings for specific karaoke nights (e.g., "Showtune Sundays," "80s Power Hour") in Eugene's free weekly paper - targets locals planning their week. 3. Leverage Social Media Snippets: Post short video clips (even just 15-30 seconds!) of your best singers (with permission!) on Instagram/Facebook; yes even facebook. Showcase the talent & vibe - proof beats description. 4. Promote Mocktails Specifically: Add a dedicated "Zero Proof Stars" section to your drink menu/online & mention it explicitly in ads. Eugene's health-conscious crowd will notice. 5. Offer a "First-Timer" Perk: Give a small discount on a well drink or mocktail to anyone the DJ recruits to sing for the first time. Lowers the barrier, rewards participation. Good luck & I have faith you will continue to make wonderful cherished memories.

I have never met you and was not at the lounge when you came in, so I apologize no for what happened and I'd be happy to talk to you about it more. Please call me at the lounge or email me anytime to discuss an interaction with one of my employees. It's quite disturbing to see that you wrote negative things about "the owner" and claim that I was rude to you when I've never met you. We welcome people with disabilities at the Cat Lounge every single day, please retract your inaccurate review. This is absolutely amazing how they totally dismiss their behavior of what I Said " I was told that they don't think someone who can't keep their body movements to their selves shouldn't be around animals or even be around animals" Gavy 25 years old has a disability which I can't control my own body movements because I have tremors that run through my body sense I was a little kid who as I was born with this disability " So I'm definitely don't recommend this place for anyone who cares enough about cats or animals should know that Greenhill Humane society is a Free source for spending time with cute cats and animals and they don't disrespect their customers what so ever. Also I have to say one more time For someone with disabilitys sometimes we can't control our body movements so sorry but you guy's have just lost a bunch of customers. It's not only about the service of the cat lounge but it's also the people the front desk who continually make very hurtful comments and certain stuff about people with disabilities such as myself I felt very hurt and disgusted by the way the person at the desk was treating me and my group I was there with my group home manager and DSP and the lady was continually making some very hurtful comments by such as oh you shouldn't be touching the cats you know because you have don't smack My cats like that's not okay I wasn't trying to smack the cat I wasn't trying to hurt the cat my tremors in my body sometimes I can't control them so sometimes I have to like try not to do anything it's just it's my tremors I have a disability where I can't control my body movement so to have a woman come up to me and be like you shouldn't be touching a cat if you can't control yourself in fact you shouldn't be here at this place even coming in here is not okay you shouldn't be here not only that but making certain comments or rude rude looks including that or a cat threw up everywhere and I walked in and I kind of felt gross and icky and I felt like her whole attitude towards us as customers wasn't very appropriate or respectful if you're going to be a person that owns a building such as a place for people to come interact with animals or even just to come into your store and enjoy but the fact is this lady had no freaking respect for anybody that came in she was very rude very disrespectful she in fact was just disgusting when it came towards the animals I felt like the cats could have been in a better situation so yeah I'm just going to say I do not you just lost a bunch of people that are no longer coming back to your company I hope you understand what you did was not okay that is plain and simple freaking messed up you shouldn't be a owner at all not only that but just being disrespectful to people that are coming in to help your cats get homes and treating them like s*** is not okay it's not it's not okay you lost so many customers I hope you're happy with that.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!
