My son and I visited during a very stressful week of travel. We were missing our own fur babies and had a wonderful experience, both smiling when we left. The lounge was clean, peaceful and full of thoughtful touches for cat lovers. The cats were playful, gorgeous, friendly and well cared for. The "lounge" is not really a lounge with food and drink per se, the same experience can be had at Greenhill for free rather than 12.00 or 15.00 depending on if you book in advance... there is no food or drink served, only bags of chips and bottled drinks. The place is extremely clean, no smell and the cats are well cared for. The owner however is a nightmare. Michelle is the most UNWELCOMING person and a deterrent to visiting this place. She has a manic energy and is a complete control freak and outright rude. She'll give you a long list of things you cannot do, like wake the cats up, scratch their belly or hold a cat wand toy too high. they have fewer rules at Disneyland. You know your perception of weird cat lady? She's that! Honestly if I found a cat I wanted to adopt I'd think twice before wanting to deal with her as a liaison for the rescues. She's totally off putting. Once you're in the "lounge" she'll eagle eye you by coming in and sitting at a table and watch you interact with the cats, even though there is a huge glass window and she can see everything from her front desk. It's very uncomfortable and I did not have an enjoyable time. I was previewing this business in hopes of bringing friends here, but I'll pass. Short: SPRINGFIELD. CAT CAFE LOUNGE. ONLY THE 2ND CAT CAFE LIKE SPOT IN ALL OF OREGON. ANIMAL LOVERS GO GO GO! I've always thought Springfield and Eugene would benefit from having a cat café especially since there's a lot animal lovers and there's a lot of places to do. but the variety of things do, is much needed for the area. I thought it would be great especially from a mental health advocate point of view too, stress free for people to enjoy. [Location, Space & staff] I really love that the space was clean and well organized. it wasn't too small of a space. staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. I also love the fact that you can adopt the cats which is great so they could find homes. I really love the location because it's not too close to Autzen but on the familiar road to! I think the location is nearly perfect, as there's plenty of space to park. I definitely think it's so worth it to visit and spend an hour with these cats. I definitely am interested in the frequent visitor pass! [Drinks & snacks] Springfield Cat Lounge offered a few local beverages which I appreciate. They also had a variety of snacks, which I really loved since it's very inclusive for different dietary needs. I particularly love the Boba tea protein bar!! Never seen anything like it! [Merch] Shirts blankets tote bags and other cat related items or souvenirs are available to buy and in plenty! Also has local art and jewelry! I found most items were reasonably priced. [Note about rules] Only one thing I was not entirely happy about was when I saw there wasn't a reinforcement of rules, in the cat lounge area. Particularly the rule of not waking up any napping cats;about halfway into my visit, A couple came in and they were just waking up all the napping cats which I didn't appreciate. Part since it's a rule that was told by staff and I felt bad for the cats as they were napping, and then somebody put their hand in front of their faces.. [Events and more activities!] They offer doing knitting and occasionally other activities for an hour some part of the weeks, as part of their weekly events. So far, it has been the same price as a regular visit admission, which I really love! Overall, definitely looking forward to being a frequent visitor and keep on supporting this wonderful amazing local business!! Note the only other cat cafe in Oregon is in Bend. It's quite disturbing to see that you wrote negative things about "the owner" and claim that I was rude to you when I've never met you. We welcome people with disabilities at the Cat Lounge every single day, please retract your inaccurate review. This is absolutely amazing how they totally dismiss their behavior of what I Said " I was told that they don't think someone who can't keep their body movements to their selves shouldn't be around animals or even be around animals" Gavy 25 years old has a disability which I can't control my own body movements because I have tremors that run through my body sense I was a little kid who as I was born with this disability " So I'm definitely don't recommend this place for anyone who cares enough about cats or animals should know that Greenhill Humane society is a Free source for spending time with cute cats and animals and they don't disrespect their customers what so ever. Also I have to say one more time For someone with disabilitys sometimes we can't control our body movements so sorry but you guy's have just lost a bunch of customers. Fun concept, but the owner/manager is a little stressful. Clean facility, great kittens and cats. My son's girlfriend booked a visit for the family and after many of us got over holiday bugs, we finally were able to enjoy my Christmas present. So 8 of us filled up the room. My daughters and my son's girlfriend had been before, and they said that the rules had gotten much stricter. No picking up cats. We went at a time where they were all napping, so hard to interact with them. Got a few to play. My youngest (19) found a laser pointer and picked it up and the manager was pretty abrasive "where did you get that - did you bring that with you. You can't have that in here". She explained she found it on the shelf and the woman said "Oh, we only allow that the last hour of the day, put it back." The tone made several of us feel like it was a little rough considering. I don't think I'll go back. Cats are fun, the new gal they were training was super nice, but the manager or owner (unsure) set a tone to the place that made me go "no thank you" read more

I've been here several times and it's been a wonder experience every time. The space is warm and inviting and the people are so friendly. They truly love cats here. The cats are all super sweet and love cuddling, and they adopt out pretty quickly. There is a big parking lot and a light to get out at, so it's easy to get in and out of. They have punch cards and you get in for free on your birthday (ID required). I definitely plan on coming back many times! read more

Springfield cat lounge is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and I had a blast. All the kitties are very sweet and let you pet them and they're very cuddly and sleepy. You're allowed to give them treats and play with them. They love the treats sometimes too much, but nonetheless, this place was fantastic. The owner was there & she is incredibly welcoming & passionate about her business & doing what is best for the cats. She hired a great staff to oversee everything & she runs an incredible business. We've visited the gift shop and cafe a few times and had positive experiences with the staff, but when we returned for my child's birthday and met the owner, she was very unwelcoming from the moment we entered. We got the rundown of the rules, and followed them all. But we were told we were too loud after my child reacted very reasonably to being scratched when playing with the kitty wand. All of that aside, the visit would've been completely comfortable if the owner wasn't so unkind and unwelcoming. I am so disappointed with our visit. read more

I have been saying for years that I think the Eugene area could benefit from a Cat Cafe. And now here we are! The Eugene Springfield Cat Lounge is the only place in town where you can sip on a warm tea while giving pets to a fluffy kitties. It's $12 per person for a 50 minute hang out sesh with the cats. I can honestly say that I felt this experience to be very therapeutic. Cats are gonna cat, so you have to be mindful and patient while waiting for them to warm up to you. There are cat toys and treats to help speed up the process. But once they are comfortable the purrs are so worth it. I love the entire motivation behind this lounge which is to find forever homes for these cats. This is a great way to mingle and meet the cats before deciding if adoption should be the next step. My only critic is I wish there was more of an emphasis on the Cafe side of the business. The coffee, tea, and snack options are simple grocery store items. I can't help but think how awesome it would be to sit down, do some remote work, sip on a delicious latte, and peer through the lounge window to watch kitties play and nap. In the end, I am a big supporter for any organization that is trying to find homes for animals. I wish them nothing but growth and success. read more

I was very excited to learn that Eugene has its own cat cafe now, and it didn't disappoint! This establishment is very well kept and the employees are very kind! The cats are adorable and friendly, and while they might not always want to play or humor you, there's always another that will. I suggest reserving earlier in the day if you don't want to arrive to a bunch of sleepy cats, because they definitely get tired after a long day of pets and playtime. Also, reservations fill up quick, so definitely book in advance! It's very easy to do on their website. The place itself is comfortable and quiet, with lots of comfy seating for those that just want to peacefully hang out with the cats. The strict rules that you have to agree to before coming in make me feel comfortable and confident that the cats are happy and safe in this environment, and it definitely adds to the cleanliness and peacefulness of the cafe. The food is limited and the drinks are standard to what you'd expect from a cafe, but they aren't the centerpiece so it doesn't bring down the experience.
