This place had good reviews so of course with us being foodies we had to try it. First off the cocktails were well made and the focasia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar they bring out was great. We both ordered a dish with claims and pasta. It was delicious and very savory. We will definitely be back to this place.

The vibe is a bit like a Mediterranean beach house I suppose. The service is friendly and helpful. The kind of place where they have the complex specials memorized. You might want to make a reservation, but at 5:30pm on a Sunday night we had no trouble getting a table for two. You can sit outside on a shady patio, or inside. Acoustic ceiling features helped dampen noise. It's a nice place for a romantic dinner. Foodwise, I really enjoyed my Bistecca, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The Lemon Lavender mocktail was good but nothing special. My husband really liked his Tagliatelle Bolognese.

I reviewed this restaurant maybe a couple years ago now. I felt it was time for a new one. I had friends in town from afar and decided to take them out for a birthday dinner. Two of us ordered the same thing - it was the orchiette puglesi. I may have spelled that incorrectly, but basically it's these little ear shaped pastas with nice spicy sausage pieces of sundried tomatoes, and broccoli rabe (like broccolini but slightly bitter) in a delightful light sauce, probably butter based. The pasta was cooked to my perfection, al dente. Both my friend and myself ate every bite. You'll see the photo attached. The other person in our party had the meatball appetizer and a Caesar salad. He was very pleased with both. So you may ask, why only four stars? Two reasons. The first being our red Cabernet Sauvignon wine was rather chilly. Both of us prefer our red wine at room temperature. It still was a delicious wine. The other reason was because one of our desserts, a pistachio ice cream with a of caramelized top, was very, very frozen and icy. The tiramisu, on the other hand and a chocolate mousse were very delightful. Service was excellent and attentive. We enjoyed our evening tremendously and it is certainly on the list of my favorite restaurants. Another issue is the difficulty in parking. The spaces are so very close together if you can even find one. Despite being there on a Thursday evening, even the street parking was full. I don't think the restaurant can do very much about that so it's really not fair to criticize them. I guess it's just to put it in your awareness of parking can be difficult.

Epic meal experience! 4 of us sitting down to a meal, each with our own dietary concerns and everyone was thrilled! WIN! We made a good attempt to try as many dishes as we could and everything was fantastic! Our server really knew the food and the wine list and took great care of us! We even had limonchello and coffee after dinner. The restaurant has an "outdoor patio" that is enclosed along with an indoor space. We sat outdoors and we're completely comfortable. We will certainly be back for our next Italian fix!!

My friends and I sat at the bar here last night and let me just tell you, it was a front to back 5 star experience. They've changed their menu recently and this was my first time trying it, they've definitely upgraded the food in taste and presentation! Starting off with delicious complementary focaccia bread (an upgrade from the average baguette in my opinion) with balsamic and olive oil. Next was the Caesar salad, which is not your typical Caesar salad, it was elevated and honestly...the best one I've ever had. I couldn't stop going in for another bite. Then came the main event- the Halibut, it was tender & buttery, resting in a delectable Parmesan foam. We finished off with their crème brûlée and tiramisu, which were beautifully sweet. Every bite of this meal was savored. Hats off to the chefs, seriously impressive. Not to mention the service! All the staff is so friendly and attentive, they made sure every one of us was happy with our experience. The drinks were very good too! Especially of note, was their espresso martini. Again, the taste was above average. This restaurant may seem pricey to some, but trust me it's worth the splurge. You're paying for the utmost quality in all aspects of a dining experience. They have a lovely ambiance that will whisk you away. You will feel loved and cared for no matter who you are or what the occasion is. This meal will stick with me until I'm able to return...can't wait

First time trying this place. Parking is quite tight especially with a 5 month baby. However, the waitress was very attentive, my water was never empty, and the food was delicious! They even had gluten free options for me. The pasta was al dente and creamy. Will be going back again!

I've lived here for around 5 years, and another 15 years up in Salem and this little restaurant is a gem in every respect. I've been to Rye at least 4 times since moving here. I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's. I think this was my fourth trip there and all four times I felt thoroughly satisfied in every way.

I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town.
