Wow! This food is insanely delicious! As we knew that we would be passing through Eugene yesterday, I started looking up restaurants. I was enticed by the pictures of fresh salads and wood fired pizzas. We ended up getting a few pizzas, a couple different pastas. They were all so flavorful (not salty) the texture of the gnocchi was so soft and absorbed the flavorful sauce. We were all blown away. We used QR to order, and were advised to order in waves. Drinks first. Everything came out promptly, even though the restaurant was pretty full. The last few days we ate at some incredible restaurants. Cold Springs Tavern in Santa Barbara, Nepenthe in Big Sur, then we come to Osteria DOP and all agreed the food here was unmatched. The best. For driving many hours, I liked that the atmosphere was casual, but it still looked modern and nice. read more

Their food really does live up to the hype. The pizza has a perfect airy, charred crust with just the right amount of crispy and chewy. The pasta was a nice al dente and had a good coat of sauce. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, the food came relatively quickly! The restaurant has limited tables, so expect a wait! There are also bar seats and seats that face a wall. There are QR codes at tables to scan and place your order, and the waiters that bring/bus food were super friendly. All and all, Osteria DOP was a great experience! i came here for the first time about a year ago and ordered the mushroom pizza (and another one too), and honestly it was the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Since then, I haven't even bothered trying any other pizza spots in town because this one just hits every time. I've been back multiple times and always try to sit at the chef's table so I can watch them cook...it's such a fun, unique experience. Everyone who works here is super friendly and chill, which makes the vibe even better. I also love how they do the ordering system!! you just scan the QR code to check out the menu and pay. There aren't really servers, but it works perfectly for this setup. It does get busy, especially on Saturday nights, so expect a bit of a wait. But it's a small place and 100% worth it. We happened upon this restaurant while passing through the area, having no idea that people wait in line for entrance, which lucky for us wasn't needed on that Tuesday night not long after 5pm. The service was great - every time I looked up for someone I was asked what I needed in a friendly way. All order was on the smart phones, and that went better than I'd seen anywhere. Drinks were delivered in a couple of minutes. Pizza was delivered in barely more time than that. We had the Salsiccia, which had what I like to call a "nice burn" - spicy enough to leave some heat in my mouth but not overpowering. The broccoli was nicely crisped, the sausage quite tasty, and the chili oil did a great job of providing that aforementioned kick. Unique experience where the Pie Maestro is crafting artisanal pies in a wood fired oven right in front of you. It's an order as you go place, scan the QR and pick from an online menu. They are ricky ticky quicky with everything but the pies. So order your pie, then your apps & drinks. Apps & drinks literally came in 1-3 minutes of ordering them. I screwed up and selected the deep fried Olives, I don't like olives...but they were delicious. I ordered the burrata app, the others liked it, I found out I don't care for burrata. The orzo & cheese balls were great. The salad was phenomenal. Their crust is amazing, and the care they take in curating the pizzas comes through in the taste. High end toppings and tons of flavor. Delicious food beautifully presented and plated. Kind service with a smile. Really enjoyed the salad with the lemon vinaigrette. The pizza and pasta were delicious too but would have asked them to hold back on the extra salt (sea salt?) on the pizza. I liked the restaurant ambiance overall but seating along the side as a party of two with our backs to the rest of the patrons is a little off putting. I've had Osteria DOP on my "visit in Eugene" list for a while and was pleased to visit when I was home visiting a few weeks ago. My sister had been curious about it as well so we stopped in to pick up dinner after the First Friday Art Walk. The restaurant was busy--all the tables inside were taken and their outdoor seating was claimed as well. They don't take reservations or anything and supposedly they sometimes have lines forming before the restaurant even opens! We were going to take and run anyway and once we placed our order it was about 20 minutes until it was ready. We ordered a variety of things since we were taking home to others and to get a sampling of what they have to offer. We got the Suppli, which are risotto balls... but the breaded olives looked great too (next time!). The Agnolotti is something I'd never heard of before and looked so good, so that was next on our order. We also got the Puglian pizza, and some Zeppoli to finish. Everything was perfect. My favorite were pizza and the agnolotti. I would get any of the stuff again but definitely those two. Next time I really want to try the Patata pizza. I am so glad they're in Eugene and can't wait to come back. I was afraid the bill was going to be like $125 but it was half that, thankfully. No parking--you might find street parking around but there's also the parking garage basically across the street. And the downtown station for LTD is only a couple blocks away as well. Finally got to check out this popular spot--and overall, it was a great experience! First off, the customer service was top-notch. I really appreciated the attention to detail, especially the helpful explanation on how to order. I don't mind using Toast for table-side ordering, but it can definitely be a bit tricky. I was able to navigate the menu, make my selection, and place my order without issue. However, my friends had some trouble with the app and weren't able to place theirs until about 15 minutes later. Luckily, their food still came out shortly after mine--so no big disruption there! Now, onto the food. I'm a huge fan of Calabrian chilis, so I was super excited to see a Calabrian pizza on the menu. I'll fully own that I didn't read the entire description closely, but I was a little disappointed to find that there were no actual chilis--just chili oil. Unfortunately, the oil was pretty heavy-handed, which left the crust soggy and caused the cheese and pepperoni to slide right off each slice. Flavor-wise, it was still delicious, and the pepperoni ratio was spot on, but the structure just didn't hold up. That said, I'll absolutely be back to try a different pizza. I really enjoyed the vibe, the service, and the overall experience--just didn't love the pizza I picked this time. read more

Definitely the overall favorite from our visit to Eugene (and the whole town knew it, because we waited a little over an hour for a table despite arriving right when they opened at 5pm). No reservations, so walk up when they opened at 5pm to either get seated or get added to the waitlist. It's a small, cozy spot serving up handmade pizzas, pastas, and more. Casual service (order off the QR codes) but delicious food. FOOD RATINGS: - Montanara pizza (5/5): This was the best pizza I've ever had! The lightly fried dough was a game changer, and the smoked mozzarella leveled this up from your typical margherita pie. Bursting with flavor and just so chef's kiss. They give you scissors to cut your own slices, but I ate the entire thing. - Rigatoni (4/5): Basic but elevated and delicious nonetheless. This took a while to come out (the pizzas are quick in comparison), but was worth waiting for. Simple tomato sauce, al dente pasta, sausage, and creamy burrata. Loved it! read more

Overnight stay in Eugene for a work trip and found this place on Yelp. Arrived around 8:30 p.m. to a packed house. Wait was about 40 minutes. Food and bev came out pretty quickly after ordering. First time here... impressions: Fava con cicoria - funny smell but interesting taste. Smashed Fava beans with some sort of greens, maybe turnip? And olive oil and a bit of spice. Bland but salty? Tastes good with the crispy toast and really grows on you! Glad we tried it. Margarita pizza - a bit too much "wet" tomato sauce so cheese and mushrooms rolled off. Otherwise good. Calabrian pizza with added anchovies and olives - per my husband, the anchovies made this really tasty! Parking on street and since we arrived at 9pm on a Thursday, there was no waiting. Prices were fair and you order off the app so bring your phone. There wasn't much to see at the chef's table as they were pretty much cleaning up for the night. A definite four stars! read more

I have heard fantastic things about Osteria over the years and decided to try it recently. It is very popular and I can see the appeal for the ambiance, lighting, and overall aesthetic. I will say, I did expect a lot more based on what I had heard in town. We waited for 40 minutes, which wasn't a bad thing, but we're not asked about seating preference. After our waiting time, we were placed along the wall. I recently had knee surgery and this was difficult to navigate for me. My partner is also deaf and we usually prefer to be seated across from each other. I wouldn't normally mention this, as it is my responsibility to ask and seek accommodation, but when I gave my name for the waitlist I was quickly dismissed and they moved to the next person. Also, this is petty, but the host misspelled my name (His name is Andrew). My name is Andrea. Just a weird experience overall. Up next, the service. We were given our seats. What I did not know is that you order via QR code, which surprised me since the expectation I had was that this was an upscale dining experience. I ordered through QR two cocktails (both delicious), their salad, and a pizza. I will say their cocktails were fantastic and I would go again just for those. However, the salad came out well before our drinks (expected since I ordered off QR), and was so salty. There was extra flaky salt on a traditionally, what seemed like, Caesar. Since ceasars have Parmesan (salty) and anchovies (also salty) the extra salt was so incredibly noticeable it almost made it hard to eat. I'm not one to waste, and ate it, but would not order that again. The flaky salt was so prevalent, it was stuck in my molars. I'm going to preface this with I already thought that the salad was salty, which was unexpected. We offered a pizza that had anchovies, which are also salty. If I had know the pizza would have been that salty and had no way to balance it with anchovies acid, I wouldn't have ordered the pizza that I did expect to be a bit salty. The pizza was good, but even for one I was expecting to be briny and salty, between the olives and the anchovies, it was so incredibly salty. I sincerely hope this was a one off, but my god, I felt my blood pressure going up as I ate there. Forgot to mention that we didn't get water until well after the salad came. Our cocktails we had to ask for. This was especially disappointing since we were out for my birthday and we didn't even interact with a server (besides Andrew) who was nonchalant and cavalier the entire time). read more

Nothing is bad but the wall you sit at unless you are here at 4:35pm to get the chefs table. Pizza is solid but I come here for the pasta and other dishes. Never had anything bad, fast easy to order but do agree, they need a bigger place. The wall sitting thing is cramped and annoying, but food and friends and service makes up for it. read more

The pork, beef, lamb & ricotta created such a perfect moist bomb of flavors in your mouth. 12/10! Highly recommended!! 5+++++ stars!!! Padrón Peppers - the fried peppers were mild enough and the lemony and garlicky salty bread crumbs sprinkles provided the perfect balance of texture and flavor. 5+++ stars! Suppli - loved these little fried balls of joy. The risotto was seasoned well and the gooey smoked mozzarella inside was amazing. They reminded me of a more flavorful arancini. 5++ stars! Bucatini - a cacio e pepe at its best. Perfect amounts of pecorino, grana, and black pepper. Solid dish. 5 stars! Ricotta Gnocchi - everything you want from a beef ragu. The tender beef paired well with the soft (not really perceptible) ricotta gnocchi. Absolutely delish. 5++ stars! Margherita Pizza - kiddo approved! The tomato sauce was one of the best I've had. Subtle spices and not too sweet. And yay fried basil and quality mozzarella. 5++ stars! Calabrian - again with the fantastic tomato sauce. The spicy calabrian chili and spicy salami provided a pleasant medium hot taste. I would had liked a few more spatterings of ricotta and smoked mozzarella, but you can only fit so many toppings I suppose. 5++ stars! Zeppole - hot fresh doughnuts are always a crowd pleaser. Like a cross between a donut hole and beignet. Less cakey and pillowy though and more dense and chewy. 4.5 stars. Super efficient ordering process and delivery. And we love when we have control of getting our own water! We thought this was a pizza place, but it is sooooo much more than that. Best Italian food in town. This place is good but overrated. Very busy and clean, the speed in food turning to our table is good and the way ordering and serving is cool. The AC is a not enough but overall I feel the food is not the best. The pizza had hardly any anchovies. The Bucatini was very cheesy and salty, it was kinda heavy (we selected it looking for a light option) and the Burrata was on the dry side (Usually very creamy and soft). Suggestion: The crispy bread served with the Burrata has no flavor, a good alternative could be some of your pizza dough. read more

We started with the burrata appetizer, which was creamy and fresh, and I'd definitely recommend the meat taster plate (salumi) for anyone who loves a good charcuterie board. The squid ink tagliatelle was fine but a little overrated for me--I've had better elsewhere. The pizza, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious, though a bit on the oily side. Prices are a little high for Eugene, but honestly not bad compared to similar spots. All menues and service is done through a QR code, so please note that modifications may be hard to do if you have allergies. That being said despite ordering from a QR code the service is fast and prompt. Both the kitchen and bar are situated in very open setting so you are able to see the chefs prepare the food in front of you. Both chefs, bartenders, and food runners work together to deliver food/beverages to guests. We went with a group of 6 and arrived 30 minutes before opening, we were the last group to be seated before the establishment hit capacity and there was still a line forming out the door. If you want to experience the full menu arriving early is a must as they were running out of dishes very fast. From the appetizers, to the entrees, and deserts everything was prepared fresh and tasted beyond amazing. We were in town for the marathon and this was the perfect food to fuel us for our run. If I'm ever back I will definitely be coming here for dinner again! We all ordered different entrees and split appetizers - quite literally everything tasted fresh and well made! One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The ravioli was amazing. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked. We also had brussel sprouts, the DOP salad, and the fava bean puree (sooooo good). Holy smokes! This place hit the spot on a Thursday evening. We were in town to visit my son and tour UO the following day and everyone was starving. We lucked out and managed to sit at the wall bar, 5 in a row. The staff were very accommodating considering how busy it was. We did things family style which was a bit tough considering the seating arrangements, but thankfully, we weren't too disruptive to the other diners...I hope! Recommend the Puglian and Tre Carne pizzas, Ravioli and Bucatini, AND the deep-fried and breaded Macaroni Carbonara. The other thing I really appreciated was having carafes of water and a filling station close at hand. Not sure if it was self-serve, but it was very nice not to have to bug the servers for refills. read more

My wife and I were among the first to enter when they opened so we were able to sit at the "chefs" table which overlooks the kitchen, the part that prepares pastas, salads, apps, and desserts. After about 20 min. we checked on our order and discovered we needed a little help getting our order started, no big deal. A couple drinks, salad, appetizer and a pizza. Everything was on the way, the pizza took a while but that gave us time to eat our app. and salad. We were having a relaxing leisure dinner and watching the show. We ordered another glass of wine and the cacio e pepe with bucatini pasta as we were sharing all our dishes. Very salty, would not recommend. As we started eating our pasta dish a waitress or hostess maybe approached us and said "we have a 90 minute time limit, if you're going to order dessert do it now so you can finish and leave". Until that moment we had a good time. The thing is there were empty tables and empty seats right next to us and nobody waiting for our seat. We thought it was pretty rude. I don't give 5 stars very often but Osteria DOP earns it many times over! Our first time there tonight....Fun sitting at the chef's table, the vibe casual but energized. Staff is friendly and keep an impressive flow. My husband and I shared the gnocchi with oxtail, wide egg noodles with duck, woodfired pizza with buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil, and the seared brussels sprouts (amazing crispy texture!). Everything was so incredibly flavorful, we were very tempted to lick the plates but restrained ourselves. I am a dedicated home chef, so I greatly admire when a place does over-the-top amazing homemade dishes with fresh, local ingredients---and I can just relax and be served for a change! Our return visit to ODP went very well. Sitting at the chef's table was fun and the young man making salads/apps was very friendly in sharing about the food he prepared. A beautiful meal, and a very hip space. We were seated at the Chef's Table, so we got a front seat to the action. Mostly that's fun, but that does mean that while eating dessert I got a big noseful if pork ragu being plated. Depends on your personal pref. To the food- perfect Neapolitan pizza, charred and chewy with simple toppings of tomato and mozz. The fried sage was a nice touch. We also had the chicory salad, which had a surprisingly bomb anchovy dressing. I mopped it up with my crusts. I love amaro, and they had a nice selection, so I tried two. The Amaro Delle Sirene ", from Washington DC of all places, was fascinating, kinda port-like and weird. My affogato for dessert was perfection, as was Mo's panna cotta. This restaurant is so good that I had to go two days in a row because I couldn't get their food out of my head. The restaurant doesn't feel like anywhere else in town. One of my favorite spots to sit is at the food preparation counter. Watching the chefs work adds another layer of appreciation to the meal, making the experience even more immersive. The speed at which the food comes out is remarkable. On my second visit, I was able to enjoy a full three-course meal with a cocktail and still be in and out in under 45 minutes. The quick service doesn't compromise the quality one bit--everything I've ordered has been fantastic. The quality of the ingredients really shines through in every dish. There's a noticeable attention to detail that adds depth and complexity to the flavors, something we don't see often enough. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites, and I can't recommend it highly enough! read more
