Gluten free The Boot

Hands down the BEST pizza I've had EVER!!! I can't believe I've never tried Mezza Luna Pizzeria before. The Boot has harmonious flavors that make all your troubles go away! It's that good! Must try if in town!

The pizza at Mezza Luna is truly exceptional all-around, but one of the things they do especially well is their crust.  It's impossible not to love it - mostly chewy and part crisp, thin, but with enough thickness around the edges to satisfy die-hard crust cravers :-) Not only is the crust exceptional, but the toppings can be described with just one word: WOW!!  Digressing to a few more words, at Mezza Luna you'll find a long list of creative toppings, all made with fresh, quality ingredients.  You can specify exactly the combination of toppings you want, or opt for one of their pre-configured speciality pies. Tip: Their lunchtime special of a slice and a salad is pretty tough to beat :-) The prices here are surprisingly reasonable given how delicious their pies are.  I found myself wondering how they make a profit, but then I realized that given how popular this place is, it'd be pretty hard not to ;-) Because "Man does not Live by Pizza alone", they also have a very comprehensive selection of beers to drink with your pie. On the off-chance that you aren't up for a whole pie, Mezza Luna offers their pizza by the slice as well.  Each day they have five different kinds (one pepperoni, one cheese, and three other rotating "surprises".  All the pies which can be purchased by the slice are displayed in a glass case up front.

nice place, nice ambience. i love the addition of the glass bricks, like i looove glass bricks so bonus points. pizza was good, service was quick. cute little pizza spot.

Horrible old slice not even 1/4 inch thick. Gross.

Huge bummer ...this was my favorite pizza place for years but they keep serving up crap. Not sure what's going on but the location in Springfield isn't good anymore either. They had a guy that made the best pizzas and we haven't seen him in ages and every whole pie we get now sucks. It's also strange the ingredients don't seem as high quality. I literally just ate the last slice of pizza I will ever eat from this place. I think the picture speaks for itself.

Garlic-Bread Knots

Cheap and delicious food, pizza by the slice, great service and great little indoor seating area! Probably about 10 tables. Great for a rainy day.

The fruit and nuts salad was nice. Pizza is better elsewhere. Ordered garlic knots and took 65 minutes to be served. What?

Both my self and my wife have spent extensive time in Italy and know Italian quarantine very well. So we were quite interested in trying this location based on many of the reviews a the menu. This is my verdict. I ordered the LASAGNA DELLA CASA, and the Tiramisu for the desert. First the lasagna, I read the Yelp reviews on this establishment prior to ordering. For the most part the reviews were good. I read two reviews that claimed that the sauce is canned. After tasting the sauce I can guarantee that those who are claiming that the sauce is canned clearly have a pallet that is fit for judging can dog or cat food. When it comes to real cuisine they have no clue of what they are talking about. I can guarantee the sauce is hand made. Even with it being take out I can tell you that. The lasagna was very good. The sauce was outstanding, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the Italian sausage is amazing. It has a perfectly balanced flavor with a wonderful flavor of fennel, not over powering yet its presences was very enjoyable. Overall for take out I was impressed. I will definitely be returning to this location to try this dish again in a dine in experience. Now for the Tiramisu. I have eaten this dessert in Italy at some very high end restaurants. As far as the Tiramisu at Beppe & Gianni's, it is on par with the best that I have eaten in some of the best Italian restaurants in and throughout Italy. And absolute symphony of wonderfulness. Let me remind you this was a take out order, that being said I am looking forward to returning to this location for the sit down experience. When I do that, I will take photographs of the cuisine and post them. It is not fair to an establishment to take pictures of takeout. When I went into the Restaurant to pick it up, I saw the plating and it was outstanding. The takeout box just doesn't do it justice. I highly recommend this location.

The bar has 4 seats and there are perhaps 20 tables in Placido's. It's a bit tight and quite busy as it appeared every employee was performing multiple roles. The service was polite and prompt. We ordered smoked chicken ravioli and chicken piccata. The smoked Chicken ravioli was unique, but quite good. The smoky flavor shined through. The chicken piccata was loosely a chicken piccata. Still very good, but with some additions to the traditional expectation of a chicken piccata. It was a good pasta dish overall.

Good start - Focaccia arrives with a very zesty marinara. Nice - The Caesar salad arrives. Decent is the word but lacking any tang from lemon or vinegar. - Hubby's strawberry drop is yummy and kind of stiff. - Pastas come. My Alfredo is very good. It's tan (not Olive Garden white) with flecks of herbal green. I wanna say maybe sage, but that doesn't sound right. - Hubby's carbonara is very, very good. It's traditionally made with guanciale and this might just be that. - I want to add that the ambiance here is warm and inviting. The simple wood tables make it look comfortable. The soft hanging lamps and fairy lights make things warm and romantic. Why has it been so long for us? We will definitely be back.

I was enticed by the pictures of fresh salads and wood fired pizzas. We ended up getting a few pizzas, a couple different pastas. They were all so flavorful (not salty) the texture of the gnocchi was so soft and absorbed the flavorful sauce. We were all blown away. We used QR to order, and were advised to order in waves. Drinks first. Everything came out promptly, even though the restaurant was pretty full. The last few days we ate at some incredible restaurants. Cold Springs Tavern in Santa Barbara, Nepenthe in Big Sur, then we come to Osteria DOP and all agreed the food here was unmatched. The best. For driving many hours, I liked that the atmosphere was casual, but it still looked modern and nice.

Some places try to impress you. Not outdated it's dialed. No gimmicks, no nonsense just consistency that hits every single time. Now let me get this straight the calzones here? Hands down, some of the best I've ever had. Packed right, cooked right, everything balanced the way it should be. This isn't some rushed, thrown-together side item this is the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-bite and go, "Yeah... this is why this place is still around." I'll be honest, I read a few reviews beforehand and thought, "Did something change?" Nope. Walked in and it was exactly what I hoped for. Same classic feel, same solid food, same dependable experience. That's the beauty of Mozzi's it doesn't chase trends, it outlasts them. Value? Strong. Ambiance? Classic, comfortable, no-frills in the best way. Service? Locked in. Friendly, efficient, and they know what they're doing. This is the kind of place families grow up on. Team dinners, birthdays, random weeknights that turn into memories it's all baked into the walls. You don't stay in business this long without doing something very right. So let me make this real simple: If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Eugene this is the place. Don't overthink it. Just go.

I should have looked for street parking. I went on Saturday at 6pm, maybe that's why it was crazy expensive. Gosh, this price was more expensive than parking in Los Angeles. The restaurant was very cute, service was great. Food was very good. However, my lasagna was 1.5" x 4". I guess I got the mini/kids size lasagna. My son got the pepperoni pizza and he liked it. Pizza is pizza, it was good. his roommate got the chicken fettuccine. His portion was very generous and he loved it. The bartender was very nice and I ordered a scotch. The pour was generous and the price was as expected. Once my friend arrived we were shown our table, given our menus and told the specials. So far it was a nice experience. We settled on our choices and waited for our server to return. It took longer that I would have hoped and the restaurant was not very busy. I ordered the Pasta al Limone, my friend ordered the Butternut Squash and Gorgonzola Ravioli. We were then told they were out of the Ravioli. Would have loved to have known that at the beginning. After a few awkward moments to come up with a second try the Fennel and Sausage Rigatoni was the choice. The food was fine but nothing special. My sauce was thick and not expressing any lemon flavor. The pasta was fine but again nothing to write home about. The same with the rigatoni, all of it was fine but I can get fine at a lot of places. Overall, the ambiance was nice, the service was okay and the food was not completely disappointing. That is about it. I would go back if someone invited me but I will not have this on my list of places to revisit any time soon.
