Laughing Planet is a great little restaurant, one of the first I frequented in Eugene. They have low prices and a great kids menu. Right now, Laughing Planet is one of several restaurants in Eugene that are giving free meals to those of us who lost our SNAP benefits to to our greedy unlawful president. Laughing Planet is a favorite in our neighborhood and we get take-out there a lot. I usually order their Cheese and Pico quesadilla. Several times recently I have gotten home with our order only to find a very small layer of cheese on it, some of the tortilla without any at all. I recently asked them about this and was told that they had been told to cut back on the cheese on their menu items. I can understand doing that on an item that has other ingredients, like a burrito with beans, etc. But one expects a normal amount of cheese on a "cheese" quesadilla that only has pico with it. I wanted a salad for dinner and this place peaked my interest. Very good choice on my part. The menu is big and the selection is plentiful and the prices are very fair. I have never had sumac before and the gal taking the order got me a sample to try. It was uniquely tasty so I ordered the kale sumac salad. Very good choice on my part. It was delicious! I also ordered the Bollywood bowl because I just love Indian yellow curry. That was also a very good choice on my part. As much as I wanted to order the massive cookies, I just didn't have any room. Amazing!!! Stopped in on a road trip. We are vegan so it's always such a treat to find GOOD QUALITY VEGAN FOOD!! Laughing Planet was a winner. Took my family here to eat. The employees were nice but unfortunately the food was off the mark. I ordered the Thai bowl and it was overly acidic and spicy. Was like eating pure tang. My kids did enjoy their burritos. What concerned me more was there was an individual absolutely spun on meth who kept coming in and out of a store. My work very closely revolves around such people, and they are absolutely unpredictable. This person also was handling all of the water cups that are left out for the customer. Disgusting. Staff never addressed this and was super casual and okay with it. Eventually this dude left the store and a tweaker female came in to use the restroom. Apparently this is normal? Difficult to choose a favorite because they do an excellent job on all salads. My favorites are Sumac Salad & Highway to Kale. You can add protein if you choose. It is a very laidback cafe with patio dining. Also exceptional Margaritas. read more

Staff was very nice, food is pretty reasonably priced, and I love that they have a symbol for vegan food on their menu! I got the Kbbq bowl with tofu and there was hardly any rice or tofu. and the bbq sauce is more like a sour spicy sauce.. not "bbq". as you can see in the photo it's just a big soupy bowl of water. I want to start with saying that the food is EXCELLENT. But as prices went up the portions got smaller and I started coming less often. I was on a somewhat spontaneous road trip and we got hungry, so I whipped out my iPhone and did a Yelp search for vegan options near-by. The promise of burritos sounded wonderful, so we chose to head on over to Laughing Planet. (We were both pleasantly surprised to discover Eugene had a good number of vegan options!) We were both intrigued by the mention of plantains and sweet potatoes in the Che Guevara burrito, so we got two of those $4.95 burritos. (Good price, I think!) They were a little spicier than expected and definitely delicious. I could have easily consumed a few of The Farm-Boy Tim smoothies. They were delicious! I love fruit and this smoothie had plenty of it, so I think it was hard to go wrong with that smoothie option (or most any other). We loved their compostable straws and that they care about sustainable practices. The only weird part was when someone (a staff member? a random person?) placed a dinosaur toy on our table for a little while and later someone else asked if they could take it. I understand having toys available for kids to play with at a family-friend joint, but randomly placing it on someones table seemed really odd. $10.75 for a burrito and a fancy, healthy juice. I was surprised by how good this place was... and friendly, and fast, and filling! They had multiple hot sauce options, including my favorite: tapatio! But after asking for the medium salsa on the side, I regretted not keeping it in there because it was might tasty. I would've taken some home if I had been allowed to do so. The juice is why I didn't give Laughing Planet 5 stars. It wasn't horrible by any means; I just didn't fall in love with wit what I ordered. It was a cucumber, apple, kale, ginger, lemon juice. More ginger and lemon than anything else. Spicy and too foamy. I tried the chicken burrito with pinto beans, chicken, brown rice, jack cheese, and pico de gallo on a wheat tortilla. I was told that this is one of their stars, and it did not let me down. On my way out, I saw someone had the quesadilla and that looked good too. Parking is really easy because there's a lot. Great food and community vibe, terrible at volume of music blaring in our ears, right now sitting here. Cashier said shed turn it down. Didnt happen. Cant get away from speakers anywhere inside. Family left bc too loud, as I was coming in, overheard them say, "Ya it was too loud last time too." Hoping info gets to the right person. Love coming here. We dont all like super loud noise. Maybe its a generational thing. Will keep coming and feel complainy about inability to consider noise level limits for some customers. read more
