A convenient spot in a great location. I originally wanted to go somewhere else, but after seeing that they had a wait, I changed my plan and decided to try Cafe Yumm. It turned out to be the right choice for me as I was not too hungry, and did not want anything big or greasy. Cafe Yumm has many healthier options. I tried teriyaki chicken bowl which came with avocado, nori, edamame, carrots, cabbage etc. It was so tasty. I wish they offered different sizes like other bowls. This is a great spot for some quick food. We stopped at Trader Joes, then went here for some lunch. I got the "wrap it" (burrito) and everything comes with a delicious sauce. Most places charge extra for avocado these days, but it comes with every meal unless you ask for. Took parents to late lunch Friday 9/5 Food was good, issue upon ordering: 2 cashiers trying to serve customers were being berated by Jade (off duty staff). Jade was unprofessional yelling at the 2 cashiers. I finally told Jade to stop, that there were customers here. Jade finally stopped, once i confronted / intervened. It had been a while since I had my favorite item here, the Southwest Salad with grilled chicken. I was craving something fresh and healthy, so this was an easy choice. Unfortunately, the salad is not how I once remembered it, especially when it comes to the meat portion and the cut of the meat. There was just a small scoop of square-cut chicken. I recall in the past receiving a hearty portion of well seasoned chicken cut in a strip style, which was a reason I always loved this salad. I requested to add cauliflower rice and olives this time, but they forgot to add the standard pepitas to the salad. The avocado was skimpier than what I've received in the past. I ordered a grilled Yumm wrappit (cafe Yumm burrito) for take out. The guy on the phone made a point to say that he would make sure it was grilled. When I got home, I found the burrito was half the normal size & NOT grilled. The contents tasted old & it contained more rice than usual which is extremely disappointing for something that costs $9. Love love love cafe yumm. I've been eating it for years now. I stopped in yesterday and was happily greeted and customer service was great. It seemed like all the employees were friends with each other and just having a good time doing their job. However, I was disappointment that my yumm bowl wasn't filled. I asked for no sour cream and no olives, yet usually I when I get my order from the delta oaks location it's not more than a quarter of the way empty like it was at this location. I wanted to go back and complain, i just didn't want to put the employees in an awkward position. I just feel a little ripped off. In the past when I have gone to this location the service was very welcoming, today however was some of the worst treatment that was received. I am recovering from a surgery and to help me feel better my husband decided to get me one of my favorite things I told what I wanted and asked him to please remember to tell them no Yumm sauce however when he brought it to me there was Yumm sauce all throughout the dish he went back in and asked them to remake it and because he had forgotten his mask in a hurry to get me the right dish the cashier looked at him in disgust and said "I'll do it but really I shouldn't even be serving you cause your not wearing a mask" absolutely horrible and petty behavior over a mistake that they made, what's worse is not only was it on the receipt but the cashier even read back the order. read more

This is a staple of the Oakway Center and one of my favorite parts about going there. The staff here is attentive, polite, and professional. Between the Yumm sauce and jalapeno sesame salsa, I'm addicted to this place. I love Yumm bowls! I like ordering them from Cafe Yumm or buying their Yumm sauce and making my own at home. I recently tried their Smoky Yumm Bowl and I loved it. It wasn't spicy to me and had a nice smoked chili flavor. I like to order with a side of corn chips. This location at Oakway Center is nice because you can eat inside or outside. If it's a sunny day, it's nice to sit outside and the kids can run around and play in the grass while you eat. Oakway often had nice music playing outside and it's generally a laid back and family-friendly environment. read more

I'm not a vegetarian. I like my meat. And yet, for some reason, I can't seem to get Yumm bowls off my mind! The first time I came here, I wasn't super impressed. A healthy veggie and bean bowl with all the fixins, topped with a unique sauce? I guess. But then the strangest thing happened. I started craving Yumm bowls, craving that Yumm sauce. I don't know what it is. My mother in law mentioned a similar experience with Yumm bowls, and shared that she read some research about how people actually crave the nutritional yeast that is part of the Yumm sauce. As a loyal customer to Cafe Yumm at Oakway, I cant keep ignoring the complete lack of attention to preparing an order. Every time that I go to cafe yumm at Oakway, they mess up my order and put the wrong thing in. When they haven't messed up my order, I have founds bits of plastic or the skin of an avocado in my bowl. Sometimes they even add stuff that I don't want in it and try to up charge me, such as for extra avocado that I don't want when I asked for somethin. I purposely have to drive an extra two miles out of my way to go to the Delta location, and they are amazing because they get my order right and haven't been careless enough to put things plastic in my bowl. If there was a lower rating then one star, that's what I would give. My sister was also going and trying to do a group order and they just hung up on her even though they were supposed to be open for another hour. - annoyed and unsatisfied customer. read more

I am giving one star because the price for basically a rice bowl is outrageous! It's mostly rice, with a couple of tablespoons of toppings and sauce. I added chicken and assumed it would be a small dietary portion of 3 ounces (which would have been fine), but it was less than that. Chincey. A Yumm Baby bowl.Well there is supposed to be extra Avocados.I got the exact same amount with a regular yumm bowl there was no extra. No napkin as requested. It's getting 5 stars for the food because the food IS GOOD!!!! I always order the Original Yumm Bowl with no olives and light on the Yumm sauce. It's delicious! Brown rice, avocado, cheese, tomatoes, black beans, cilantro, sour cream. Yummy!!! It comes in 3 sizes, but usually the medium is filling enough. Their giant chocolate chip cookies are good too as are their turkey paninis. The gal who took our order seemed a million miles away from the register and messed up on my sister's order, twice. Which is a little bit impressive since they weren't busy at all. Anyhoo, we finally got it all worked out. Parking is easy, unless it's busy and then finding a parking spot close will be a little trickier, but not impossible. Just make sure you have an umbrella if the idea of getting wet doesn't sound appealing to you. read more

Pros: - Lots of vegan/vegetarian options - Natural, organic ingedients - People evidently like smothering their healthy food in fat-laden nut sauce, so if you like that sort of thing, this is where to get it. (Or save some money and guzzle some cheap satay sauce straight from the bottle!) Cons: - I know many people love it, but I'm not a fan of the Yumm sauce. I found it too sour, and just the few tablespoons in a medium bowl add 300 (!!!) calories!! That's as much as a cheeseburger! - Shocking amount of calories. Might as well have a burger, fries and a milkshake, because a medium original bowl contains over 800 (!!) calories and most of your daily allowance of fat. I'm a fan, but my daughter dreams about this place. The Jasmine rice Yumm bowl is pretty filling, and completely vegan without the Deluxe toppings (cheese). Okay, so I did not go to cafe yum for the longest time because I did not care for the original sauce, I went once and did not care for it. Then somewhere I tasted their garlic sauce and buy it and use it often. Today my husband and I took our daughter there before she headed up to Portland. I ordered my large bowl with Garlic sauce. To my surprise they said they do not offer any other sauce but original!!!! really. They gave me the option of buying a jar of garlic sauce.... LOL, what a great marketing plan. This is my fave yumm by far. I adore the outdoor seating area and the staff is always chipper. I must admit a another contributing factor is that I can go get an ice cream at Coldstone when I am finished:) As always, Yumm is always on target and I like that. You know you are going to get a yummy filling meal while there. My fave item is the edamame yumm, more protein for the buck. Don't forget to pick up your jar of sauce to take home. This food is honestly super, duper boring. I added a ton of rooster sauce to my food just to give it some flavor. When I visit my family in Oregon I always love trying different places I haven't yet been to. I grew up in Eugene but currently live in San Diego and I love going out to eat when I'm "home" but hadn't yet made it here in my food adventures. I honestly will not be wasting my money here again and if I want a fat salad with tofu I'll continue to hit up Market of Choice. The bowls are great. I've only ever gotten the Original Yumm bowl, but it's so good that I don't need to order anything else. I've even gotten the Yumm sauce and tried to make my own bowls, but they're never as good as the original. Service is also usually very good. Staff at the counter is always pleasant and the turnaround on my order is fast. I almost dinged them a star on price, as I have many friends that think Yumm is overpriced. But I think you've got to consider what you get. It's relatively healthy fare, and I feel full after my bowl. So I think it's worth it. Yumm sauce is my life so I'm obviously a huge fan of Cafe Yumm. I have gotten many items off their menu but I have narrowed my favorites down to Yumm and Greens and the original Yumm bowl with no cheese or sour cream. I know yumm sauce isn't the most healthy condiment, but I'm a huge fan of veggies, rice and beans and it's nice to season it with the sauce. They did not pickup their phones even though take out is only ordered over the phone or in person. So I had to go inside and wait ten minutes after calling 4 times. Then they filled my bowl only 3/4ths full and I asked for no olives yet there are olives on my bowl. I paid for a medium and there is probably less food in here than a small gets. After a long morning I just wanted to enjoy a solid bowl but I guess that is too much to ask for, sad. read more

I am visiting from out of state. A friend who lives here took me to grab a bite. The whole experiences was relatively disappointing. We ordered and while we were waiting we heard a guy ordering the ginger cookies. He mentioned that he heard they were really good. We divided to split one so I ordered it. It was $3.50, so I hand the cashier $4. She gives me a quarter back. I ask the price again and she says $3.50. I say I gave you $4 and you gave me a quarter. She didn't seem to understand the problem. Eventually I did the math and she gave me correct change. Everyone working at the place seemed miserable. When we got our order we clarified that the sauce was on the side. The woman who had just boxed it seemed unsure. When we got home we discovered the famous cookie had not been put in the bag...annoying. The food was mediocre, the jasmine rice was totally undercooked.
