After tipping these young girls at the register (prematurely) they were rude and unhelpful when an order was made wrong, speaking to me in a condescending way in front of my two children. For $48 for two bowls and a smoothie this is unacceptable and unwelcoming for the Oakway Center culture, where all other established businesses emulate kindness and integrity. read more

Decided to try a juice cleanse and Nekter offered a two and three day cleanse. Decided to try the three day as why not go all in. I ordered online and it took about 3 days as they didn't have the products in stock. When it arrived it came nicely packed in a cooler bag and each juice was numbered in drinking order. My biggest disappointment is that all 18 juices (6 per day) came in a plastic bottle, hoping that will change as it was a lot of waste. The juice was great, everything from #1 being celery to #6 being an almond milk and date drink. Honestly I couldn't drink all 6 juices in a day as I was so full, I never felt hungry and each one of them had their own unique vegetable/fruit blend and flavor. I had great results after the three days both physically and mentally and look forward to incorporating more juice in my life. read more

I'm pretty excited that a smoothie bowl place opened up in this part of town! I went to try out a smoothie (because I had a free coupon) and it was pretty good. I ordered the Mango Delight and added greens and pea protein. Their extras/add-ins are $1 each, which I think is a little pricey. It would have made my smoothie over $8 for a 16 oz if I hadn't used a coupon! But aside from the price it was a good smoothie and I will for sure be going back to try a bowl and their Health Nut smoothie. I will re-review after I've tried more menu items! read more

This location wasn't too busy on an early Saturday morning but the staff was friendly and I couldn't decide which açaí bowl I wanted and this one came highly recommended. It was perfect, fresh fruits on top and blended perfectly, no random frozen chunks of anything in it. My mom and I walked in at 11:15am, three female employees turned and looked at us, didn't say hi or smile, then just turned back around and kept to what they were doing. When we went to order there was minimal engagement from the woman taking our order, no smile, and we could see how annoyed she was that she had to be there. We ordered two small smoothies and a protein bowl, totaling about $30. The smoothie was fresh of course, but it wasn't memorable or so full of flavor that I could die for another. I would rather have Jamba Juice. The music was blaring inside that we had to all move outside because we felt like we were all yelling at each other while sitting in there. Oregon sucks at smoothies. I don't know why. It is a mystery, but this is the one place I've found that seems to be able to blend something to actual smooth. The flavors are good, the place is clean and leaves you feeling like you've done something morally good buying 'health food', which works well for a smoothie bar. The parking is decent and it's next door to all sorts of fun little shops and amenities making it a good locale if you're out and about doing that sort of thing. Down side? The prices are a little high, but considering where they are located, they do fine so I don't blame them. The smoothies are heavy on the sweet side, I prefer a beverage that doesn't taste just shy of ice cream, but I get most people prefer it and they're definitely a crowd pleaser. I typically get a smoothie when I want a throat soother or a pick up from a hangover or a late night and it definitely fulfills those parameters. read more

We were in search for a light lunch after our (relatively) heavy breakfast. Maybe a smoothie would work. We searched ahead on our road trip and found Nekter. This place did the trick for us. We go the Pink Flamingo, the Berry Banana (forget the official name), and the Acai (also forget the official name). These hit the spot! The Acai didn't have a ton of flavor, the berry banana was heavy banana (not mad about that at all!), and the Pink Flamingo was pretty great. Nekter is kind of the millenial Jamba Juice. Good ingredients and healthy whole foods going into bowls, smoothies, and juices. The stuff is expensive, of course. But tasty and healthy. I will pay more for a clean place and good ingredients, like any good millenial would. My parents, Boomers, would probably like Dairy Queen much better. I have to say that the vegan chocolate ice cream is AWESOME. Tastes stupendous and is a better deal than the smoothies in terms of cost. Poor customer service! I ordered a freshly squeezed watermelon juice with no ice and what I got was a watery tasting and looking drink! When I told the staff about it they became argumentative and said they didn't make a mistake and I was wrong! However, I got the same exact juice the day before and it tasted like watermelon! Also, during Covid 19 they should be more cautious about customers health and spreading germ but the young girl who was making the drinks was touching everything including all the surfaces and giving hugs to visitor friends and made peoples drinks with the same pair of gloves!!!! Also, while people were waiting in line the young guy made drinks for his friends, took the drinks outside and gave it to them while paying customers are waiting in line! Just came in and my boyfriend asked the difference between the peanut butter bowl and the peanut butter smoothie form expecting to know the differences of what's in them and the employee said "well ones in a bowl and you eat it with a spoon" with a *duh* attitude. I then pointed to the large poster of the hot pink colored drink in the store and asked for that, my drink is dark purple with tons of chunks of berries inside and hardly even blended. I am excited to have Nekter join Oakway to give some healthy, quick options in this area! The other thing I really appreciate about Nekter is the ingredients- nut based milks, fresh fruit/vegetables, and not tons of sugary juice additives which many smoothie places add in. Options include smoothies, juices, acai bowls, grab and go juices, and dairy free "skoops" (ice cream substitutes). Everything I've had has tasted delicious, particularly the Popeyes's Acai smoothie and the Tumeric Sunrise. It is definitely pricey, but I feel like the ingredients compared to other smoothie/juice places help justify it. I really wanted a big dose of veggies and figured I would grab a green juice at Nekter. We found a spot right outside but theres limited street parking so you might have to park in the large parking lot close by. I ordered The Greenie juice which has parsley, spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, lemon, and apple. It wasn't too sweet from the apple which I liked because I try to stay away from fruit juices and too much sugar. The staff was friendly and our drinks were ready in no time. You can even call ahead and have your order ready for pick up. The only thing I wish they had was an acai bowl with more green options. I would have ordered one but they were all fruit based and they didn't have a low sugar option. I also tried the Health Nut smoothie that by boyfriend ordered and it was pretty tasty. It has peanut butter, banana, cashew milk, pea protein and agave nectar. I don't think it needed the agave but it was still good. The prices are a little steep so it will probably end up being more of a treat than an everyday thing for me personally. Two parts to this. Their juices are bomb! A bit pricey at $8.60 for a medium juice but I don't mind paying that for the juice. Their bowls on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. Their prices are higher than most places. The bowls are pretty basic and remind me of Jamba Juice. I'm probably just used to the varieties that are offered elsewhere. Franchises vs. small business owners always have that type of affect of me. Maybe because it's a franchise from California idk. What caught me a bit off guard was the fact that they decided to open up their first location in Eugene instead of Portland. Eugene is a town that is known support local businesses and being located in Oakway center means they are catering to a certain type of crowd because their rent must be insane! Acai Bowls started from the ground up, for the locals from the locals. Keeping the price down so that everyone can enjoy it. Acaí Banana Berry Bowl was amazing! i didn't know something this healthy could taste so good. The bowl was so big it was more than I could eat. i think nekter juice bar is a fun place to go but it is pretty expensive. i'm pretty sure most of their ingredients (or all) are organic, which definitely racks up the price but for me it is a splurge. they have samples and the overall vibe in there is like a rich lululemon-wearing 30 year old which i don't really mind lol. it's right next to barre3 and lululemon so it makes sense. anyways it's really yummy and worth stopping in but it's not really a regular thing for me personally. read more
