How can one turn down homemade ice cream? Not me! I had a single scoop of banana caramel in a cup…read moreand I think I will never have a banana ice cream anywhere else but here. The ice cream here is so creamy and full of natural flavor. In my ice cream, you can taste the fresh vanilla, bananas and the super gooey caramel sauce. Yum!

There are certain places that don't just serve food they serve time itself. Prince Puckler's Ice…read moreCream is one of those places. I'll never forget my grand adventures here as a teenager. We're talking early 80s... a whole different world. You had folks still hanging on to the 70s like it owed them money bell-bottoms, wild personalities, and people that were just downright funny without even trying. I swear, half the entertainment wasn't even the ice cream, it was just sitting there watching humanity stroll by in all its glory. But let's not get it twisted the ice cream absolutely hits the spot. This is that soul food for the student grind. When studying runs too long, when the day's been rough, when the Oregon heat sneaks up on you, or when you just need a little reset... this is the place. Scoop after scoop, flavor after flavor, it never lets you down. And being right there by the University of Oregon? Come on. There's just something about grabbing a cone on campus that feels right. Timeless. Like it belongs there. Customer service has always been solid, the vibe is iconic, and the whole place carries this charm that refuses to fade. Some things change over the years... this place just keeps being exactly what it should be. Five stars. Always has been. Go Ducks !!

Was recommended this place and finally came on a rainy afternoon! Despite the cold and rain, there…read morewas still a line for icecream inside. The interior is well-decorated, bright, and clean. When you walk in, there's a spot at the side of the store where you can buy some cute merch. The guy at the counter was very patient with us while we sampled a couple of their unique flavors. The menu can be a little overwhelming on your first visit since there are so many unusual flavor combos to try. We ended up deciding on a split scoop of lavender and honey with bleu cheese and pear (surprisingly so good!!), and a split scoop of strawberry balsamic black pepper with snickerdoodle. The honey lavender is smooth and didn't taste perfume-y at all. The bleu cheese and pear has a great pear flavor mixed with some small chunks bleu cheese - doesn't sound like it'd work well, but we loved it. The snickerdoodle flavor is strong and has soft chunks of snickerdoodle cookie in it, so the lavender and honey balanced it perfectly. The guy did get part of our order wrong, we had originally asked for a split scoop of snickerdoodle/strawberry balsamic and got snickerdoodle/honey lavender. But, it wasn't a big deal since honey lavender was a flavor we liked anyways. We ended up just buying a pint of the strawberry balsamic to go and finished it within a few days. Really yummy! A good place to satisfy your sweet-tooth cravings and more unique than your typical ice cream shop.

While we were on the wait list for dinner across the street at Gianni's we decided to walk around…read moreand take a look at the other stores in the area here by the UO campus. I had the intentions just to browse until I saw their cheese cake brownie. I had no idea what Gianni's had on their dessert menu and I didn't care to wait and find out. I chose that before we went to eat, and we had dinner I dug in and it was love at first bite. Since I'm not a coffee drinker I never step into small cafes on my own or look around to check out pastries, but I'm glad I made the exception here.

Sweet Life Petite is the mini-version of the original Sweet Life. This one's located on Campus…read more(well, not technically on campus but like right by campus). It is indeed pretty small; there's an "in" door and an "out" door so and since the line can form pretty quickly. They're pretty fast though, so even if the line is close to the door (which it was once when I visited) you'll still be out within about 10 minutes or fewer. One of my favorite things from Sweet Life are their morning pastries--specifically, their cinnamon roll and the lemon cream bun. Both are amazing, and whilst the cinnamon roll is my personal favorite, if you have to choose get the lemon cream bun. It's different from something you've tried before; you can't get one of these everywhere and it's amazing. Their tiramisu is good too, and the some of their other cakes. Check out their specials--there's always something good to choose from. This location has no dedicated parking, just a few spots on the street (shared with Prince Puckler's, the pizza place, and other businesses around). There's a lot of outdoor seating, nice for warm summer evenings.
