Stopped by while road tripping up to Portland. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. I loved the bolognese. There were also some free handmade cards to take. Service was great and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant.

Breakfast at Southpine - A man wearing a hat and jacket is seated at a cafe table, smiling, with a plate of open-faced egg and avocado sandwiches, a mug, and glasses of water.

The breakfast muffins are very tasty and filling. The coffee is pretty tasty and the (counter) service is good. What's more is this is a local business.

I was running errands in this area of town, and stopped in to pick some sandwiches for my husband and I. As well as some chocolate chip cookies! Parking was a little competitive, so I was nervous that the wait was gonna be pretty long. But, it was quick to order and quick to get my food! And, the staff were really friendly. I got the Goat Herder Sandwich for my hubby- with goat cheese, arugula and more! And I ordered the Farm Stand for myself! It was perfect! And, hit the spot. I stole a bite of my hubby's sandwich and that was amazing! And, we both thought their chocolate chip cookies were the best we have had in Eugene. Sorry, I didn't take a lot of pictures today, but trust me it was tasty!

Vanilla latte's - Two white ceramic coffee mugs with latte art sit on a wooden table, with a metal table marker in the background.

Yay! They expanded '. It's a beautiful location & they have grown this past year to having a pick up window too ! Always friendly staff. We loved our choices - the home run potatoes were a bit underwhelming- lacking flavor -my biscuit was perfect tho - not too dry. We love this spot !!!!

This is our new favorite breakfast stop. The servers are all friendly and patient. The bread is phenomenal. I am not vegan but love their carrot "lox's" and cashew "cream cheese". We ended up going two days in a row!

TL;DR amazing coffee shop, foods "garnishes" could have had more to it, seating is plentiful but feels crowded. You know it's a good coffee shop when I am nitpicking on seating. I really enjoyed my visit to this coffee shop/bakery. Some of the most unique and flavorful breakfast food but quantity left me wanting more. The Jewel, with a delicious peppered jelly, is an amazing breakfast sandwich. But for $9 for a breakfast sandwich, I feel like it could have added a second piece of bacon as opposed to the single strip down the middle. It felt like it needed more sustenance to it. Good coffee with lots of classic options and a couple specials There is plenty of seating, which almost is part of the issue. The shop Itself is fairly small and therefore feels a little packed. To be fair, it was a little too cold for the outside seating which I am sure would help it feel much more open

Cold brew and cinnamon roll to go! - Inside a cafe, a wooden table holds food containers and iced tea, with a large window revealing outdoor seating, a tree, and a partly cloudy sky.

The biscuit and gravy tasted great, although they could've been a wee bit hotter temp wise. Bordered on being luke-warm, but the flavor and texture were tasty-though it had a touch of sweetness, which I'm not a fan of. The biscuit itself was great! Cold-brew decent! I drank it black and it was smooth and a lighter blend. I took a cinnamon roll to go, hot out of oven, and it definitely stole the show. The tables filled up fast, but the ambiance wasn't as homey as I prefer-kind of sterile inside. They had a ton of kids working in there with one older guy at the cash register. The owner? Not sure but it reminded me of a church camp kinda vibe. The younger guy who took over register right before I left was definitely friendlier. If you're craving a homemade cinnamon roll then you should definitely try theirs.

Friendly staff. biscuits and gravy - always good, but I noticed it could be served warmer. The few times I've gotten it has been on the luke warm side. Delicious as always, but could be better 4.5/5 Turkey bacon avocado sandwich- solid! Comes with pickles 4/5 ASK for the house habanero sauce 5/5

Southpine is one of my favorite places in Eugene. They have friendly staff, great coffee, and gluten free food options. Highly recommend

"Two scoops" with tuna salad, egg salad, and seeded toast. - A plate features toasted multigrain bread, a scoop of potato salad topped with pickled onions and black pepper, and scrambled eggs garnished with a pickle and tomato.

Wow, this has got to be one of the best lunch values in town: "Two Scoops", which allows you to select your choice of two salads--potato, green, coleslaw, chicken, tuna or egg for $8. For two dollars more, you can add a couple slices of toast, which again has some options. I ordered the tuna salad, the egg salad, and the seeded toast. Everything was delicious and clearly made in house. In addition, the service is friendly and efficient, and the environment is pleasant.

This is a really nice lil cafe in a part of town that is missing a place like this! We got both sweet and savory options, along with some coffee. Both of the pastries were great, but the biscuit open face sandwich was really unique and a fun breakfast option. One star off though, because everything (the food and the place itself) was COLD! The front door was open, making us not want to stay very long because we were chilly! And, similarly, I wish the pastries were warmed up. The soft boiled egg was cold too, which was a bit odd. Maybe better in the summer!

Nice little bakery with unusual foods. The people were very interested in that frequent this restaurant as well.

Don't skip this part when you drop by. A friend warned me that Saturday market was happening so parking might be difficult but the 30 minute and one hour slots in front of the bakery are very helpful. I ordered a 20 ounce Matcha with water, a 20 ounce iced black black tea infused with vanilla bean -- it's incredibly refreshing! -- and one of their amazing freshly squeezed orange juices. It's a bakery to be sure but don't let that fool you: the beverages here are just THAT GOOD. One drink doesn't feel like it's going to be enough... and in my experience, it's usually not. There are staff are all very helpful...there but today one young woman stood out fif only I could remember her name!) but she has glasses with hair tied back and was going through the line taking orders to ensure that customers were greeted and welcomed and had a chance to place their orders in advance. Their jalapeño biscuits are outstanding -- don't skip the honey butter... it deserves to be slathered on -- and if you're looking for comfort food, try their banana bread loaf or their zucchini bread. One more thing that I find really wonderful here: at 2 o'clock there espresso goes on sale. Yes. You heard that right. So for those of us who feel that coffee should happen all through the day... This is your place for an espresso deal.

Palace Bakery (now known as Palace Coffee Roasters) is has been around Eugene for decades, but I've…read morenever actually been here until recently. When I was growing up we didn't really visit bakeries, I don't drink coffee, and my mom was a black coffee only sort of person, so not really much need. Whilst visiting Saturday Market I stopped in with my tired, grumpy toddler to get her a hot chocolate. I got myself one too, and it was excellent. The whipped cream especially was nice; I am positive it's made from heavy whipping cream and it was so yummy I just wanted to eat some whipped cream. I know my kiddo enjoyed hers, especially if the state of her face and clothes was any indication. I've had a lot of hot chocolate, including from Mindy's in Chicago which many like to claim as the best (it's good, but honestly a bit too thick for me), but I think Palace may have the best. The secret is that they use ganache for their hot chocolate. It's the ganache that they sell in the shop, so it's easy to acquire. The staff member mentioned that she likes to dip strawberries in it, and she said they keep it in the fridge and it stays good for a while. I'm not sure I'll pick some up this time since we're heading into the warm weather months, but we'll be getting some (or having my sister send some) as we move into autumn for sure. I will say that if you get hot chocolate you will need to check work--TWICE I asked for whipped cream, at two different visits, and they didn't put any on (though they left space for it, so either fill it with chocolate or add the cream please). I was planning to get a maple bar here, but when I saw them changed my mind--they didn't look particularly appetizing. They had several other pastries though so it was an easy swap out for a kouign amann, my favorite pastry, and a marionberry strudel. Both were great. The marionberry strudel was particularly special since marionberries are more tart blackberry variant native to Marion County, Oregon; marionberries are rarely found outside Oregon, and if so not much beyond the border states. It was overflowing with marionberry and hit the spot, and my little one was a fan too. There was a good amount of seating, too, spread across two rooms. There's an entrance both from the Park Street side and Pearl; on the west side you'll get to see the bakers hard at work. They had some huge breakfast burritos that looked really good, but since I wasn't heading home immediately we took a pass on them--this time. Parking is street only, though it's not unlikely that you'll find parking on Pearl, Broadway, Oak, or Park.
