Not the best bubble tea I've ever had, but also not the worst. The service was ridiculously slow and I nearly walked away just because of it. The girl was taking one drink at a time and waiting until it was completely done before getting the next order. The Rabbit Hole lost a star for this. I ended up getting their limited time Blueberry Lavender Tea and a Taro Bun. I didn't taste very much blueberry in my drink; it was mostly lavender. Not sure if it was made properly if I'm being honest. The taro bun was good, but nothing special and I wouldn't get it again. I used to visit rabbit hole frequently years ago when it was at its older location across from Safeway. My go to was the rose milk tea which always hit the spot. Unfortunately, my experience at the newer location was a disappointment. We ordered a matcha milk tea and rose milk tea, both were bland and effortless. Yummy snacks, delicious bubble teas with customizable sweetness (50% sweetness was perfect for us, the strawberry milk tea was the best we've ever had - including drinks in NYC, SF, and HK - and actually tasted natural, and the mango yakult tea was perfectly tangy and fruity), friendly service, nice decor, comfortably low key atmosphere, and lots of board games. I've gone here twice so far, once after caving in and deciding to take a look and get a drink, and another time while waiting to do my laundry. The drinks are very good, and while I don't have any lactose allergies myself, it's a great spot for anyone that has allergies to lactose since all their drinks are dairy-free! The service is fine, I haven't run into any issues and all of the employees I've talked to so far have been kind. The only thing I would warn people about is the heat, it was very hot the second time that I went there. Then again, it is right next to a laundromat which probably contributes to it and I obviously don't blame the employees or owners or anything because there probably isn't much they can do about it; it's just something that may get overwhelming for anyone with temperature sensitivities. Absolutely the worst bubble tea I have ever had ever in my entire life. We ordered 4 drinks and none of them tasted good. They all tasted like heavily melted ice diluted drinks. No tea flavor no milk flavor, no fruit flavor, no any flavor, none. I don't even have words to explain how bad they were, just 4 cups of ridiculousness. We were all genuinely shocked on how bad the drinks are given the reviews looked really promising. We ended up throwing away our drinks. $22 bucks down the drain. The girl who took our drink order and made our drinks seemed to be really confused so I am not sure if she's just new and unfamiliar with the drink recipes or whatnot but I will not return to spend more money to find out. This is hands-down the best Boba shop in Eugene! I always make a pitstop here when driving through town. The tea is freshly brewed, the pearls are sweet and have a perfect chewy consistency. I visited Eugene for a few days and I really enjoyed their milk tea with lychee jelly! Great tea flavor and it's definitely one of the best in the area. I would not recommend their egg waffles personally, it did not taste like the typical Hong Kong egg waffles. The waffle batter was more Americanize in my opinion. You know, of all the boba places we went on our trip to Oregon, this was probably one of the better ones. the lady at the register was sweet and easy to understand, and the green tea Yakult reminded me of Happy Lemon's which was a nice taste of home because I was missing quality boba tea. the one thing that threw me off a bit was the straws. WHO LEAVES THEIR STRAWS UNCOVERED? But after the initial shock I was in luck because I keep straws in my car but it felt a bit unsanitary. Overall the tea was pretty good, we didn't get any milk tea but the yakults were good. Staff was nice, it was kinda just the straw thing that threw me off. read more

The shop is adjacent to a laundromat (where the bathroom is) with a door connecting. Again, quirky but cute. Service: Very good; friendly, patient. Drinks: The boba teas we ordered were fantastic, and customized to our tastes/restrictions. Aside: Some places (I'm lookin at you, Quickly) will try to pass off lactose-free cow milk as dairy-free (we have an allergy), but they knew better here. It's nice to be in a time when there are plant-based milks that are so good and readily available that they can be used by default without complaints :) Food: OK. I love that they have one or two bao bun selections. There was some confusion on the vegetarian options; the menu offers either a curry or a rice bowl. The server said only one of those was available--a rice bowl with dumplings--and though we couldn't get a good read from the server as to what exactly those were, we'd take anything. What we ended up getting was a microwaved Trader Joe's Vegetable Biryani. Not what I expected (was hoping for something made in-house), but I love biryani, and the TJ's version is fine. Tapioca pearls are usually perfect and the egg pudding is good as long as you pick an earthy or floral flavor rather than a fruity one that'd drown it out. 4.5/5 for the drinks, 3/5 stars for the setting, because it always feels sticky and musty in there but that might be partly because it's connected to a run-down laundromat. Always a friendly place and quiet. Just avoid the weekday afternoon schoolkid rush. read more

I'm still a fan of this independently owned little place, but I've been in a lot since my first review and Im a little less impressed. The bobas are still good, but it often doesn't feel so clean and there is often a very, very long wait after you order. There isn't any attention paid to the shelving unit by the tables and it's a bit of a junk show now. I'd love to see recyclable or compostable cups being used. Id also love to see more emphasis on exotic teas but I understand the milk tea must be much more profitable. I'd love to see RH stick around town but some improvements are warranted. read more

I found this boba shop on Yelp while my boyfriend and I were exploring Eugene. Read some good reviews and it was close by, so we decided to go in. The location is kind of hidden. It's next to a laundromat and parking is a bit of a challenge. The staff are very nice and friendly. The shop itself is small and can only seat about 15 people. They offer milk teas, fruit teas, and food. You can adjust your sweetness level. The boba (pearls) has a nice soft, chewy texture - it wasn't hard and it wasn't overly soft. They definitely know how to cook the boba correctly. I ordered the Strawberry Fruit Tea with Boba and half the sugar - it was delicious! Nice strawberry flavor and not too syrupy. I didn't think I could find good quality tea out here, but Rabbit Hole surprised me. I also ordered the Egg Waffle and it was tasty - soft, sweet, eggy flavor. I like this place a lot and I'm glad there's good boba shops available in Oregon. *** There's a restroom in the laundromat next door. Definitely the best boba in Eugene! Just make sure you ask for less ice in your drink so it doesn't get watery. Also, if you're not lactose intolerant, I recommend getting an "earl black tea latte," which is the traditional "milk tea" but with real milk instead of customary dairy-free creamer (the creamer is very good too, though). They have a wide variety of teas and flavors that they can serve however you want, and it's hard to go wrong here. Sweetener can be ordered on a "percent of normal" scale; I like my boba very lightly sweetened so I ask for 10% and it's perfect. Definitely give this place a try! The boba is always fresh (unless you come within a few minutes of close, then it's sometimes slightly hard which is understandable), and the drinks are consistently good. read more

We had to get an item that could be OK for my family member who is lactose sensitive. I normally don't have an issue finding a space to bring my laptop and get some work done. A friendly staff member recommended I try to hot honey milk tea. I was skeptical of trying a hot drink but I'm obsessed with it! They use a non-dairy creamer and mixture of the house black tea and honey. Randomly came upon this place and decided to give it a try. There was a lot offered on their menu; drinks and some baked goods as well. They had a sign with what seemed like recently added drinks so my sister and I tried them. They were good; nothing amazing but the girl behind the counter was sort of slow. She was the only person in there and there was a couple in front of us who had already ordered and it took a while for her to finish their order. Might go back and try again as she may have been new. Totally miss the vanilla rooibos red tea here. I haven't found anything nearly as good anywhere else. I had a couple of other teas here that were marginal. However, the customer service is very good. One of the employees has a very loose mask on - it keeps slipping down and exposes her nose. I want to say that it's probably not easy wearing a mask for hours in retail and I'm not sure if I would personally be able to pull off wearing a mask for hours without getting extremely uncomfortable... So maybe the owners could leave the front door open for some ventilation? Another employee is a hipster who looks like a homeless guy. That's the thing with the West Coast, particularly Seattle, Portland, Eugene, and San Francisco. I was really excited to try this shop, and was so, so disappointed. The matcha milk tea I got was really bitter, and the red beans on the bottom were grainy and in tiny, crumb-like pieces. The boba were still warm from cooking, and led to a disappointing, lukewarm drink. I ordered tiramisu, and it was frozen solid. Being previously frozen is fine, but I couldn't enjoy the cake in that state. The menus are confusing too, as they are really busy. read more
