Definitely top 3 best pizza in Eugene it's expensive but definitely worth the price the ranch is amazing

I like going to Papa's for their weekday lunch buffet - great value and nice salad bar. But... yesterday I ordered a large vegy pizza with extra artichokes and spinach. When I got home I was so disappointed because the $4 extra for the artichokes and $2 dollars for the spinach making it $48 and change was such a poor deal. Must have been a beginner cook because the bell peppers, red onions and spinach were still raw and there was no cheese on the top to hold the ingredients down. The usually crisp crust was soggy and the toppings were falling all over your lap when trying to eat the slice. Total amateur presentation. read more

The pizza here is actually SO good!! We love a nice crispy crust. A fresh, stocked salad bar is so appreciated and amazing!! Guy at the check-in could be a bit less abrasive, however, the lady who is going around cleaning stuff up is very friendly and helpful. We do love a visit here when we come to town! Went here with my bf a few days ago, a large pizza was 42 dollars. We got half teriyaki and half vegetarian. The pizza was lukewarm and the chicken on top was inedible. The chicken was also gray, cold And tasted like it was boiled. Very nice staff and gave us a whole extra pizza because they messed one up but the pizza still tasted the same. The toppings were not cooked on the pizza and were thrown on top like a salad. Probably wouldn't come here again especially for the price. read more

I love this place, I wish they had the pizza bar on the weekend but I completely understand why they don't. We always hit the salad bar, tons of toppings, well supplied, fresh, and tended to. There isn't a ton of ambiance, and not a ton of service, and the pizza is very crunchy, but you're going to need to have some extra sauce added or you're gonna need to have a dipping sauce or something to top the pizza with, such as ranch. I love Papa's because of their taco pizza. Growing up Papa's Pizza was our go-to pizza place (probably because it may be the largest chain in Eugene and was closest to my grandparent's home) but it wasn't something we had all the time because pizza is kinda expensive (still). I've grown out of the Hawaiian pizza phase, and though I'll have pepperoni, the taco will always be what I order and I can't wait to get home to have it. Beef, refried beans, lettuce, tortilla chips, and tomato and I'm sure it sounds like an abomination but will always be my favorite. I have found one place in Chicago that has a taco pizza, and it's terrible, so I only get it when I'm home. If you order it for delivery, they'll put the tomato on the side so that it doesn't soggy everything up. read more

For a mom and pop pizza shop this place takes the cake. We randomly decided to try it because we heard they had a back area with video games and a play structure. It did not disappoint, I even played Jurassic Park! It had a fun ambiance like going to a kid zone but still had an adult dinning feel in the eating area. This review is for the West 11th location. The pizza I got at this location was subpar. I ordered a large Beast to go. There was a hand full of square chunks of fat, possibly from the bacon? The bottom had uncleaned burnt pieces stuck to the bottom of my pizza. One side of my pizza was burnt. The worst part was the worker tossed my pizza into the box and smashed the lid down on the pizza. The pizza stuck to the lid and when the lid was opened, two pieces ended up falling on the floor. One of the best, and I say that because of the Sauce and the crust. I'm writing this from NYC after reading the Washington Post's article on pizza nationwide. Yes I love a good NY slice, but it's really about the sauce. And having grown up in Eugene and even worked at Papa's, I compare all pizza to the sauce at Papa's. If you're not adding herbs/ spice to your sauce, it won't have much flavor at all. And the crust at Papa's is pretty amazing. Thicker than NY but the crunchy bottom and yeasty flavor really is a perfect match for the "the sauce". And what else? The cheese. The cheese is tasty and most importantly Fresh. Of course if the the cheese is old, it'll be like chewing bubblegum. Which is really the only complaint I have with Papa's, which is if you try and do a NY cheese pizza at Papa's, tell them to Not add extra cheese. They end up trying to compensate for no toppings with extra cheese, and it's jut too chewy, like silly putty. Once again, with every slice I get here in NYC, I compare the sauce to Papa's, in my mind, the best! My question is, what type of pizza do you describe Papa's as? Tonight's order is a medium pizza half mama's with light sauce, add pineapple (.75). Half teriyaki chicken. So delicious! crust is not too thick- just right for us! Cooked perfectly. I had a d birthday discount and coupon for $10 off. When I received my credit card statement I was charged over $81 for one large pizza!!! Which was over $60 too much. I don't think they're the cheapest, nor even the absolute best, but they're consistently very good and have been a mainstay in the community for birthdays/fundraising events and overall pizza happiness all of my days. I'm pretty sure nobody makes a better taco pizza (if they replaced them white tortilla chips w/nacho cheese Doritos I'd say nobody beats them.... but then there's roaring rapids pizza) and their bbq chicken pizza kicks azz too. We recently moved here and are so grateful for Papa's Pizza! The kids absolutely love the play place. I've been able to stay for an hour and a half and read a book while my kids have a blast. Though I'm good at ignoring noise so the average person might not be able to do that. The pizza is sooooo delicious. Like, some of the absolute best in my opinion. My whole family loves it. The downsides are: it's pretty expensive and the wait can be long. However once after an exceptionally long wait the employee gave me a coupon for a free pizza of my choice next time! Pizza is just water ever, frozen pizza is honestly better than this place. My partner is allergic to dairy so we got the vegan cheese and I know there's no comparison to normal cheese but it was just yucky. They pizza was so dry needed twice as much bbq sauce. And it's kinda lame that there bbq chicken pizza just comes with that. It needed pineapple And onions to be a true bbq pizza. The salad bar was great that's where the two stars come from. Made a pretty solid salad from it, best thing of the night hands down. Although it needed a protein in it, maybe slice ham or something. Ranch was great!
