We just used Oregon Wood Fired Pizza for our August wedding and it was a hit! I'll admit, I was a little nervous going in and hiring them for one reason; unlike most food vendors, Gary doesn't do contracts. Instead, communication is mostly through phone or text, and the "contract" is your invoice that you receive roughly a week or two before your date. But my venue coordinator at the time had only good things to say about Gary and his people; they had worked our venue (Mount Pisgah Arboretum) for over a decade. And it's true--they know what they're doing! The biggest reason we went with Oregon Wood Fired Pizza was that they were able to confidently accommodate all our guests' food allergies and preferences. Our gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian guests were all fed, at no extra cost to us, which was very important to my husband and I. After dinner was served, and still the day after the wedding, I had guests raving about the pizza and asking the name of the company so they could get more! A friend and I wanted to have some dinner and a beer and decided we would try Oregon Wood Fired Pizza, well because it's pizza and it was voted one of the best pizzas in Oregon. It was busy and we weren't actually that hungry and wanted a half and half pizza to split between us. The person making the pizza said that it was to busy to do a half and half and that we had to each get a pizza. My friend asked so it takes longer to make a 1 half and half pizza than two pizzas. At this point they were deer in headlights because they really they didn't have an answer. This was the first thing that disappointed me. The second disappointment was the pizza. It was a wet mess. Most of the toppings fell off and the crust was so soft that I hard time picking up my slices. The taste was okay, but not stellar. I think this place has been affected by popularity like a lot of places that are voted best at something and now suffers from serving quantity instead of quality. Also like other popular places they gain a "my shit don't stink" attitude. I would give them another chance, but at $14 a pop... My pocket book tells me there are better options out there, but who knows maybe I might. read more

One of the top pizza joints I have tasted. It's a food cart generally parked outside the Oakshire brewery and pub. Paired with a beer flight from Oakshire, it was the best of combinations. Friendly service and delivery to your table. Had their Sweet Baby James (pineapple, ham, jalapenos), Margarita (mozzarella and basil) and veggie (artichoke hearts, spinach etc.) pizzas. They are flavorful and don't feel greasy at all. The thin crust is likely the best I have had. Good value for money at ~$13 a pie (only one size - 8 slices per). I tried Oregon Wood Fired Pizza for the first time yesterday and it was tasty. Good red sauce, great cheese (and plenty of it), and a very nice crust that is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Their pepperoni pizza uses the small and (IMO) superior style of pepperoni, and it was very nice--not too greasy, not too meaty, but a solid balance of flavors and textures. I had a great vegetarian pizza, too. If you're a pizza folder, this is good folding pizza. Beware--the tips of the slice get heavy and floppy, but that's because they put a solid amount of cheese and toppings on.
