We were going to dine in, but the staff said the orders will take about 2 hrs due to the dinner rush, so we just got a couple of slices to go. Great customer service. They only had the Fungus Among Us available, but the staff said the pepperoni was about to be out of the oven and made sure it would be ready for us. I appreciate that. I enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. It is a bit salty, but they have good pepperonis, and a crispy crust that was neither burnt or soggy. This is the place I would like to come back. I got four slices on my way out of town. They were so hard. The staff spent time looking for who got some other slices so maybe that's why but when I got them they were so hard it was not edible for my family. I would not go back. They didn't even look good sitting in the glass. It was a mistake I didn't leave. I regret it now. Loss of money and have a three hour drive with bricks. All my family keeps saying is it's crispy. We ordered an 18" Fungus Amongus for pick up. Side note, if you order through their website directly, you save a couple dollars vs. ordering through Yelp. It was ready on time (took about 30 minutes from placing my order online to pick up). The pizza survived a brisk 10 minute walk and was still warm enough that we didn't feel the need to heat it up. Mushroom fans, the Fungus Amongus is a MUST. The flavor of the mushrooms came through nice and strong, and it coupled well with the garlic and olive oil. The spinach and feta (a classic pairing) also complemented the pizza really well. The spinach was crispy, which juxtaposed with the softer textures of the mushrooms and cheese. Ultimately, their flavors were on point. I only gave 4 stars because there were a couple of huge bubbles on our pizza that pushed all the toppings off (maybe that couldn't have been helped) and I've got a personal preference for a slightly thicker crust. We put down the whole pizza between two of us, and I was still a little hungry after - disappointing after crushing a $30 pizza. They sell pizza by the slice in their restaurant for $4-5 (I can't remember if I could have ordered by the slice for pick up), but if you're a big eater like me, know that a single slice won't be enough. read more

I've been to Slice a couple of times and ordered a whole pizza for delivery once. Every experience has been a positive one. The dough is delicious and the toppings are plentiful. There are generally four options available when you go in person but you can also order your own whole pie. Every time I've gone in person there has been a vegan option which is nice to see. The backyard area has a stage for live music which can be loud and overstimulating, so I prefer eating inside where it's a little less loud. Street parking on both sides means you can usually find a place to park unless it's peak dining hours. The people who work there are pretty cool and chill, they know the regulars and can handle them when they get rowdy. The bathrooms are typical of a bar, with cool graffiti on the walls. Slice is quickly becoming a regular spot for me to get a quick, cheap, and tasty bite late at night. I really have no complaints about it! read more

Customer service was phenomenal! They really care about their customers. The place has indoor seating, soda machines, and a bar. Didn't order anything from the bar, just the food. We ordered the Cheesy Garlic Bread, slices of their: Margherita, Cheese, and Funghi pizzas. We also got to try their ranch and Caesar dressing - Caesar dressing was yummy! Family friendly with a well stocked bar, go figure! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. These slices are huge! I got the barbecue chicken pizza and it is awesome! The barbecue is mild with a little zing to it, the chicken is moist with fresh chopped onion on a thin crust. We also got a margarita pizza with very fresh basil ribbons sprinkled on after the pizza was cooked. We got an additional pepperoni slice. The kid loved it enough to where he hit me up for another slice. I reached out to the restaurant directly via email to try to resolve the issue with my order and request a refund, but they have not responded. I gave them a solid week. I ordered a pizza, 2 sides of ranch, and 4 drinks to my hotel August 3rd through Yelp. I pre-ordered a few hours before the delivery time as I was at a concert and wanted the pizza to be ready at the hotel for when we got back. When my order arrived around 11:45 PM, the driver arrived with a pizza box with the four drinks and 2 ranches piled on top of the box. I asked him if there was a bag and he said he had asked your restaurant for one and was told you didn't have any. He said the drinks and ranch were rolling all over his car because of this. I felt terrible for him that he had to deal with that. And in addition, the front desk person at my hotel had to help me carry everything to my room because a bag was not provided. Upon receiving my order I also noticed that the drinks were incorrect. I requested the grapefruit San Pellegrino, I received orange pomegranate. I tried one and it was disgusting and we could not drink them. In addition, the pizza itself was a mess. I don't think it was fully cooked. The dough was raw and slimy in the middle and the mushrooms and peppers were raw and the ham was in huge odd chunks that were cold. It seemed as though a pepperoni and sausage pizza was made and they forgot to add the other ingredients and threw them on after the pizza was quickly run through the oven. This was a really bad pizza. We ate the crust around the edges that was cooked and threw the rest away. I would have called immediately to request another pizza, but you were closed by the time I got the pizza to my room and open (which was tricky without a bag). I was incredibly dissatisfied with my order and we ended up getting snacks and drinks from our hotel lobby because we were left hungry. We left Eugene the next morning before you opened again or else I would have come in to speak with a manager in person. I really feel like your closing crew phoned it in with my order. read more

Pizza's back in the Whit! This pizza is good & legit! I sound a little excited! Okay, I am cuz we got pizza back, the pizza is delicious and this place feels pretty cool. Think New York style, thin and foldable with a chewy, yeasty crust. Light sauce, a good amount of mozzarella but not too much and mine was layered with a lot of little pepperoni. This tastes good. They're friendly. The person behind the counter thought to ask if I wanted parmesan and pointed out that she got me a big slice, which she did. She thinks my sweater is nice. I am not immune to flattery. It just feels cool and comfortable inside, with warm light, wood beams and wood floors and a comfortable vibe. I will be back. read more

As of the day I am writing this review, I am considered fully vaccinated according to the CDC. Which means I am allowed to no longer wear a mask in most indoor spaces. However, I am still not quite comfortable strutting around town exposing the bottom half of my face. Until I am full comfortable I will continue wearing a mask and visiting establishments that have great backyard seating, like Slice. Used to be my fav spot in town but they've definitely significantly reduced the amount of cheese and quantity of toppings per pizza since they opened the downtown location. And I don't think I'm overreacting because I've been going here since they replaced the pizza research institute. It's like they're literally just serving dried out pizza-shaped cheezits now. For example, I used to eat the slices 100%. Just crumbs left on the plate, y'know? Since several months ago I find myself chugging water and struggling just to make it to the beginning of the crust, and I'll leave the crust because most of the pizza slice is just... bread. With a barely 2 atom thick layer of sauce and cheese on top of it. I cannot emphasize enough how it feels like I'm eating a giant crusty pizza shaped cracker with a paper thin glaze of sauce and cheese. It bums me out because like, yeah, they just took over the downtown Eugene slice location. Is this the result of becoming a chain? Sacrificing what made you special? I'm sad, man. I don't think I'm gonna find myself at Slice anymore after a night out in the Whitaker. We've had Slice several times in the past few months, and I have to say it's my favorite pizza in town. Prices are comparable to my other favorites (Sys and Mezza Luna), so they are a bit more than your chain pizza places, but the pizza is significantly better. I love the crispy pepperoni they have, and the crust is delicious. They put on a decent amount of toppings too. The salad and cheese bread are worth trying, and we usually end up with one or both. One thing I love is that in addition to the usual pizza toppings, they have some weird ones. Lasagna pizza and they recently had a chicken and waffles pizza. I didn't try that one, but I would! They have a pizza by the slice option that I like because of the family wants one kind of pizza, I can just grab a slice of what I want.
