[rating this place as avenue.] my friend played a show here and I ended up getting there late, after 10p.m. Since there was a live band they were still serving a full bar and a select menu of pizza by the slice. The location of the venue is perfect. There is street parking and if the street parking is full there are two lots within a block that only charge if there's some huge event. The acoustics are amazing, I haven't heard better sound in a venue since I can remember. It let me really enjoy soul vibrator, a seven instrument funk band that knows how to jam. I really appreciated being able to take in all of the sounds and music. It was like listening with thousand dollar headphones. And that was true regardless of how full or empty the venue was. The full bar was nice as well. I had a slice of the pesto pizza, I would like to try this place when they're actually serving the purpose of serving pizzas. It's probably pretty good. There's also a coffee shop in house but I wasn't able to try it as it was too late.

I really really wanted to like whirled pies more. I've heard good things. The garlic pinwheels were very flavorful. Would definitely recommend. I did feel however the dough wasn't proofed enough. A little undercooked with a burnt bottom. I preferred the bites that were burnt actually. The marinara was under seasoned and had no depth. Very basic, under salted tomato flavor. Went ok with the garlic whirls. I ordered the yell "o" pizza with olives. The dough was flavorless, with a light chew. The center was saggy by the time I got it. I would ask for the pizza cooked well done if I were to order again. Just really was underwhelmed. I am curious about their moonshine sauce and Stromboli. So I will likely order again.

Fun venue! Nice rotating tap list. Quality pizza at a good price. Regularly have local arts performing. Recently I visited while POW wrestling packed the place out and it was a blast! In the past I've been to concerts and spoken word events.

I'm about to say something that could be considered controversial. When it comes to downtown Eugene locations that offer pizza by the slice, I prefer Whirled Pizza. Their pizza tastes fresher, I enjoy their veggie pizza because it's packed with flavor thanks to their pesto sauce. My husband and I split their Artichoke Flower, artichoke dip surrounded by little pizza dough petals for dipping. Just a huge carb bomb but after a few brewskies it's exactly what the body needs. I only ever visit Whirled Pies if they are having an event or show. I have never came here just to eat and chill.

There's a lot to say about Whirled Pies, but lets start with this -- This is my favorite pizza in Eugene. I've only sampled the various vegetarian slices here, but they always make me pause after the first bite and say "wow, that is special". Maybe it's the slightly chewy cheese and the crisp flavorful dough, the aroma of the fresh basil.. I really appreciate the use of seasonal ingredients like zucchini and chantrelle mushrooms. Creative options keep me coming back for more... They also have a great local beer selection that rotates often... it's not just the usual stuff you see everywhere. Besides food, Whirled Pies also serves a venue/event space hosting a lot of local and touring bands, comedians, benefit shows, open-mics....It's a large space with lots of seating throughout the venue. I've been here for various events and always had a great time. They also host free events which cater to the community and help empower kids. Did I mention the giant mural on one of the walls? It's worth checking out. This is a great place to grab a bite before walking over to a show at WOW Hall. Definitely stop in and show some support to this great community asset!

The pizza and salad were both good, but the $6 delivery fee was not mentioned until I received the receipt.

Wow! This food is insanely delicious! As we knew that we would be passing through Eugene yesterday,…read moreI started looking up restaurants. I was enticed by the pictures of fresh salads and wood fired pizzas. We ended up getting a few pizzas, a couple different pastas. They were all so flavorful (not salty) the texture of the gnocchi was so soft and absorbed the flavorful sauce. We were all blown away. We used QR to order, and were advised to order in waves. Drinks first. Everything came out promptly, even though the restaurant was pretty full. The last few days we ate at some incredible restaurants. Cold Springs Tavern in Santa Barbara, Nepenthe in Big Sur, then we come to Osteria DOP and all agreed the food here was unmatched. The best. For driving many hours, I liked that the atmosphere was casual, but it still looked modern and nice.

The pasta was a nice al dente and had a good coat of sauce. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, the food came relatively quickly! The restaurant has limited tables, so expect a wait! There are also bar seats and seats that face a wall. There are QR codes at tables to scan and place your order, and the waiters that bring/bus food were super friendly. All and all, Osteria DOP was a great experience! I will be back to try out more items from their menu.

And Track Town Pizza... well, that place doesn't just serve slices it serves time itself. Let me set the scene. I'm posted up at the Hayward Inn, a stone's throw from the sacred ground of Hayward Field. Every visit, no matter how many years pass, there's a ritual: lace up the memories, walk the same streets, and end up right where the legends linger under the warm lights of Track Town Pizza. You walk in, and there he is... Steve Prefontaine... staring down like he never left. Not just a photo more like a reminder. Now here's a little flavor for the soul: Track Town Pizza opened back in the late 1970s, built right in the heartbeat of what folks call "TrackTown USA." It became a hangout for runners, students, dreamers anybody chasing something. And yeah, over the years, plenty of local characters passed through bartenders, staff, regulars who became part of the story. Guys like Steve Fontaine? They weren't just pouring drinks they were part of the era, part of that gritty, analog Eugene vibe. We're talking decades back now roughly 30 to 40 years ago when this place felt like a clubhouse for the track-and-field faithful. But for me, this isn't just history it's personal. When I was younger, I didn't have much... but I could run. And like a lot of kids trying to find their lane in life, I found mine looking up to Prefontaine. The way he pushed, the way he talked "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." That stuck. Still does. So every time I walk into Track Town Pizza, it's not just about grabbing a slice it's like shaking hands with that younger version of myself. The kid who believed grit could take you somewhere. And let me tell you the pizza? Still hits like a victory lap. Old-school, no nonsense, loaded the way it should be. No gimmicks. Just honest, legendary pies that have fed generations of runners and late-night thinkers. So yeah... five stars doesn't even cut it. Because this place isn't just my favorite spot near campus it's a time machine. It's a shrine. It's a reminder that dreams don't die, they just wait for you to come back and visit. And every time I'm in Eugene, I do just that.

Like if the pizza gods held the Olympics and awarded gold medals for cheese, crust, and pure happiness, this place would sweep the podium. The crust? Perfect. The cheese? Glorious. The toppings? A majestic avalanche of deliciousness. One bite and I briefly considered moving to Eugene and building my entire life around being within a 3-minute radius of this pizza. Honestly, if aliens landed tomorrow and demanded to know the pinnacle of human achievement, I'd skip the pyramids and just hand them a slice from Track Town Pizza.
