I do love the ambiance of the old train station turned Electric Station. Very nice. Overall this visit was much improved over prior visits. They gave larger portions than before (still not as large on the main course as competitors) but filling none the less - especially if you order the Meat Lovers dish. I love the Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter over spaghetti noodles. I have never found this dish anywhere else. So good! They have upped their game with a larger salad & gave us more than one of their small loaves of bread to share between the 5 of us. That may have been to compensate for the slower service due to a huge influx of patrons in town for a week long track meet. And our portion of Spamoni was larger too. So much improvement from when they first opened & you got very little of anything! read more

Downgrading. The food was great. Tha ambiance is exceptional. There are numerous rooms to dine, each one with character. However..... I get the vibe that the Eugene location newness has cooled down and now reality sets in. Spaghetti with meat sauce is going to cost right under $20. However certain days, they have discounted this. Thats a good thing. Arriving at 6:45 on a Friday after being seated, with menus, it took a waiter 15 minutes to come back and take our order. Then worse....it took another 15 minutes to bring the soup. So we all finished out soup and bread, then all of us, out of conversation, resorted to social media to fill time. The Spaghetti finally came 40 minutes after being seated. The vibe I get is not enough wait staff? However looking through the other passenger car I saw waitresses who spent much time casually chatting with co-workers and customers. It could have just been an off night. Maybe we get the new guy who is still training? Maybe not paying helpstaff enough compared to the competition? We will be back. This location makes a great Spaghetti Factory. Umm. Not sure about this one. The restaurant is so cool. With the old train cars and that whole vibe. Love the ambiance. We walked in on a Thursday evening. It looked like the restaurant had been slammed earlier, but it was not busy when we arrived. Regardless, we were seated in the bar area after a 15 minute wait and when we asked if we could be seated in a better location, we were told that since we didn't have a reservation, we would need to eat at the bar area. Again. No area was full at this time and several other people were eating in the train cars. We ordered our food and it was delivered rather haphazardly. Since this is a three course meal deal, it seemed like they didn't have the timing down, but should have. It's probably 90% orders like this. Bread, soup/salads, entrees, ice cream. Not too complicated. Still, our bread came after the soup/salads. And oddly, our entrees came almost immediately. Sadly, they were lackluster. It's spaghetti factory, so I wasn't expecting Michelin star quality. But watery sauces, and very bland. I was disappointed all around. Ice cream was fine. Since this was likely the last time I will be in Eugene, I probably won't have the opportunity to return to old Spaghetti Factory. And that's ok. I hope your experience is better. I've gone to many Spaghetti factories in multiple states and I have to say, this one was my favorite so far. From the ambiance and decor to the service and food, I left in awe. I love how the dining area were inside actual trains. What a treat! It made my experience here feel so fun. My regular order is the half clam sauce, half mizithra cheese. It came out hot and tasty. We went to have lunch the bread was good my pasta was ok was not real Hot , my husband ordered a sausage with his food he didn't get it I finally had to get up from table and actually stand by kitchen and ask someone by then his food had got cold and he had started eating some of it but the whole point to have the sausage with meal . The service the waitress was friendly but we felt like we were not getting good service as far as asking if we needed anything I had to wave her down to get napkins and another time to get refill on water .for the price I thought waitress would of taken the sausage off the bill since it took so long and I had to get up to find someone to get it I felt disappointed on experience . We tried The Spaghetti Factory on a whim, after our first choice restaurant had a line out the door. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow from the very beginning. When we arrived at the hostess stand, the language being used was clearly inaudible, no eye contact. We did not have a reservation, but were quickly provided a seat in the bar. Unfortunately it was right next to the bathroom hallway where children were constantly running by, making the experience chaotic and uncomfortable. It was difficult to get consistent service. When the waitress finally brought a glass of wine, she spilled about half of it. The spill created a slip-and-fall hazard for another server who fell hard on their knees, yet she offered me the half-full glass or asked if I wanted a different one rather than immediately replacing it. That moment really reflected the overall lack of attentiveness and professionalism throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the food quality did not meet expectations for a restaurant in the market district -- it was comparable to something you might receive at Denny's. We had dinner here tonight with my son and his girlfriend and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. We had a reservation at 5:30, and although the restaurant wasn't very full yet, we were seated in the main hallway right next to the kitchen -- not exactly a relaxing spot. It took asking four times before we finally got water, and we also had to ask for bread. A couple of our pasta dishes came out lukewarm instead of hot. Used dishes kept piling up on our table without being cleared, and to top it off, they ran out of martini glasses around 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. One of the margaritas even had to be remade. Service overall was extremely slow, and they were already out of Toscana soup by 6 p.m. -- which seems odd for a weekend dinner service. Maybe it was just a bad staffing night, but from what we experienced, it didn't feel like a one-off situation. First of all I'm a legit fan of this restaurant chain. I spent years going to the Portland location, it was one of our favorite places. We were so happy to have our very own in Eugene. The OES location is perfect. The restaurant is beautiful and is being well maintained. However the service is lacking. I was there with a large family group (we had reservations, they knew we were coming) on a busy weekend with proms and the annual marathon. Our server was wonderful but there was no possible way she could keep up with the tables she was assigned. The dinner took way too long, especially with 3 little kids. My husband brought meatballs home because they were not ready until we were leaving. Overall a disappointing experience. We will try again but I hope the managers are keeping an eye on these reviews so they can fix the problems. read more

I came in here last night with my husband, as we were celebrating our anniversary. We walked in and it was a ghost town. The manager asked if we had a reservation. Looking around, this seemed like the dumbest question imaginable, given it was abundantly clear nobody was knocking down the door to get in. I can't say I had high hopes from the start, based on this. Our waitress was Julie, who was fantastic and super helpful. She checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. She was easily the best part of this experience. We ordered drinks and the toasted ravioli for an appetizer. Which were both good. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and my husband ordered the spaghetti Vesuvius, both with minestrone soup. Soup was actually really good, and perfect on a chilly evening. Only complaint there is the noodles sat in the soup, so they had no texture whatsoever. If this were me running a restaurant, I would make the soup minus the noodles, and add the noodles to order, so they weren't mushy. My fettuccini came with chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli. It was all bland and the chicken had a mushy texture to it. Definitely lacked the basic salt and pepper, which always annoys me. There was salt and pepper at the table, but I'm not into paying someone to assemble my food and me season it. I can stay home and do that. My husband's spaghetti was good. I liked his too, so I'm pretty sure I just ordered the wrong meal for myself. Dessert was tiramisu and ice cream, which was good. No complaints there. Decor-wise, they've done nothing to change the building/decorations/ambiance since the Oregon Electric Station closed. They just slapped the Old Spaghetti Factory logo on the door right next to the Electric Station logo. So it doesn't feel like they fit in. It's almost like the Spaghetti Factory is a guest/pop up restaurant borrowing the Electric Station's kitchen and dining room. This was three star food with five star service, which is why I'm calling it a four star rating. There was nothing egregiously wrong with it, I just dislike chain restaurants in general. Would I return? Probably not. It just wasn't my favorite meal I've ever had. Definitely not the worst, but there's nothing to bring me back. I'm not craving it, not wanting to try other things on the menu, nothing. It was a forgettable meal, to be perfectly honest. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience here the other day! They generously offer a birthday special if you sign up for rewards, free classic pasta entree. I tried a duo combination pasta and my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana. Honestly the pastas were super tasty, super good value too. Comes with sourdough bread, minestrone soup or salad with a pesto ranch, then dessert at the end. All that for about $20 each entree, very good deal. We will be back again to try some other flavors. To our satisfaction, we found there is plenty of three hour parking in the lot next to OSF. We walk in and are immediately greeted. We found the Hosting Station service friendly and elegant. We were offered a choice of seating and decided on an open booth table with chairs and bench. The seating was spacious and very comfortable. The dining area itself is very roomy and the lighting with decor makes for a pleasant intimate atmosphere. We ordered our drinks and appetizers. I opted for the Blackberry Italian Cream Soda in a souvenir glass to go with the one I got from the Corvallis OSF. I found the Blackberry Italian cream soda to be a very clean and refreshing drink. Perfect for cleansing the palate. The Calamari appetizer has a crisp batter and is very flavorful and meaty. The marinara dipping sauce it came with was a nice tomato base chunky marinara with a sprinkling of parsley. The Minestrone soup is spot on with very fresh flavors and packed with pasta, veggies and spices. This is a classic Minestrone that is spicy enough to warm you up on a cold day. The Cheesy garlic bread is composed of sliced baguette that has been buttered and toasted with melted cheeses and a dash of parsley with a marinara dipping sauce. The Garlic shrimp fettuccine has a nice mild spice. The shrimp is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor with an almost crisp like freshness to it. The garlic sauce is creamy and smooth with no graininess. The fettuccine is cooked to a nice al dente. The Sourdough loaf was very hot and crisp. The loaf was fresh and steaming hot, a perfect complement to the creamy sauces in abundance on our plates. The New York Cheesecake is smooth and comes with a strawberry purée that is very flavorful. All in all we found the service friendly and welcoming, the seating was updated and very comfortable. After the bad experience I had here a year ago, I thought I'd give it another try since I really like the spaghetti with Mizithra cheese. Unfortunately, the service in not any better. Actually worse and the food was worse. Small portions. Ratio of sauce/cheese to noodles was way off. Noodles were overcooked and mushy. Most disappointing of all was the bad service. Our server had an attitude that no server should have. She clearly hated her job. We asked for nothing but she couldn't be pleasant and she never checked back with us. Wow! This place blows the Olive Garden out of the water. We went for a late lunch early dinner and I'm glad we did. It was busy when we left and overheard the waitress stating this evening all the reservations were full. The food is out of this world. I got the meat lovers meal, spaghetti with meatballs and Italian sausage and my wife got the chicken fettuccine. There was so much (portion size) that we couldn't finish. The Italian sodas (she got cherry I got blackberry) are amazing, as I have never had real Italian soda before. The restaurant is very beautiful, old train cars (assuming they are all like this) and the staff is extremely friendly. The food was delicious and everything was a 3 course. You get bread, soup or salad (we both did salad which were absolutely amazing) entre and dessert. The ice cream tastes like it's not your run if the mil ice cream. The hostess kept telling us 'only a few more minutes' and strung us along for hours, otherwise we would have left. To start, we had reservations and showed up 15 minutes prior to check in. The restaurant had our reservation listed for an hour earlier even though we had confirmation texts with the time I booked. A technical glitch and they were still able to move things around and get our party seated close to our reservation time. We knew with it being marathon weekend, the restaurant would be packed and anticipated food wouldn't be super quick but our experience was awful. We got seated around 6:30 and ordered almost immediately. An hour in, our food was still no where to be seen. Our waiter kept telling us it was 5-10 minutes away. By 8:30, we asked that they just box up the food when it was ready. We finally left with our food around 8:45. The manager did comp a couple of the meals but the food was not great. Noodles were greasy, missing sauce and even the very simple kids butter noodles with parmesan was missing the parmesan. If we had been told at seating this was the expected wait time, we would have gone else where. I have a feeling our order got misplaced as the table that was seated just after us had dinner, desserts and paid their bill an hour before our food even came. Then another table seated an hour after us also received their food before us. The food was amazing as usual. I had the managers special my go to. Also tried a couple new appetisers. Every bit of food was delicious. I've never been to this location, but I've been to a bunch of others. It's our family restaurant for party's. The "host" seated us in the bar and was pretty rude. I did not want to sit in the bar, I do not drink. They weren't busy either. We waited 10 min and the waitress came for our order. She did not come back to the table once. About 35 min later our salad arrived with the appetisers. We cleared everything and then had to flag her down for bread. Her reply was they don't give bread if you buy appetisers. What? Bread please! The meals were awesome, so good not a drop was left. The thing is we got there at least an hour before closing. The location was not busy. We had gone to the Oregon Country Fair the whole 3 days, this was the last day. We walked 10 miles that day. I did not eat, I had water. The kids ate a small meal. We saved our appetites for Spaghetti Factory. We were so looking forward to it. I will not eat here next year. To Whom it may concern, last night I had the pleasure of eating at the historic Oregon Electric Station now owned by your company. We where greeted by a young lady who asked if we had a reservation. kidding we asked do we need one as the waiting area was empty. she stated we just like to ask as we are very short staffed and we need to find a server that can accept a new table. she sat us and we are in a location where 3 other tables are full, but at the end of their time there. young lady came and took our order and apologized for the wait for her to make it to our table. we asked if things are OK. she shared that they are very under staffed with only one bar tender 3 servers 1 cook and a few bussers. when we walked in I counted 3 small tables in bar. large group West room. our area 4 tables across the way looked to be the same 3 or 4 tables maybe total meals 70-100 plates. way to many for 1 cook if in fact that was all that was back there. time for us to get meal from order was maybe 35 - 40 minutes. she apologized comped us the cheese bread and one beer. we ate and boxed what we didn't. waited for young lady to return for payment. she never did so we walked up front to pay. she was collecting payment and food for a to go order. We asked receptionist to process our payment she went to the manager on at the time who came over and took our card. He seemed to be very irritated at the fact that he was having to do so. but did and upon his return of processing payment he just sat it in front of us and walked away. I stopped him and asked if he was okay. No thank you no appreciate your business no sorry about the wait. He explained that it was a very tough night and that he was not able to hire enough people to staff. He shared that most people when they are irritated aren't very polite and he just couldn't handle it so he wanted to get us out the door. We took the moment to explain to him that everybody did a good job based on what they had to work with. The food was okay seven out of 10. and that he took on the role as a manager he had a tough job, but he also needed to try and make people feel welcomed. He just did not want to accept that role this evening as it been a very tough day. Is a patron and someone who is in management I do not believe it was their fault they did a good job someone at a higher level needs to focus on staffing training of adversity and building a team atmosphere. They are clearly having to do on their own without upper managements direction. as much as I am sure you're not happy that they shared the understaffing comments as a young person is there only instinct to want us as patrons to understand why things are not going as smoothly as they think we would want it to be. I am sharing this with you now because I think those young people have good intentions are hardworking and they just need that coaching to be better at what they do and to represent the old spaghetti factory in the way I'm sure you would want it to be. But the food is pretty blah....choice a 3 course meal that is not very inspiring. Any way, I had a salad with vinaigrette (couple handfuls of green leaves tossed with a couple croutons and royally doused with oil/vinegar), a pasta and chicken piccata (chicken was a bit overcooked but I have had worse) and spumoni for dessert. I've been to Old Spaghetti Factory once or twice in Portland as a teen, and it was novel then. A friend of mine suggested going here as I think she wanted to give it a try and maybe wanted some spumoni. We ended up with a group of eight going. We were arriving in three groups: Group one was my friend and her mom; group two was me, mom, my nephew and my daughter; and group three was my sister and her significant other. When we got here and let them know we had a reservation but were waiting on a couple people, they said that there were two folks from our party here. Great, I thought group one was still on their way! Then they made some sort of remark about how we said we had eight in our party... like we had put them out or something since there were only six people here, when I had just said we were waiting for people. And the place was practically empty (it was 5 pm) so even if the last two hadn't shown up it wouldn't have made a huge problem with their seating.... Unfortunately, the evening didn't pick up from there. I don't know if the server was the only one there but she seemed super stressed. There was confusion about who wanted coffee (one regular, one decaf); it was the right type but in the wrong color cup; confusion about other drink orders and a bit slow to refill; flipping some appetizers. She got some help from the bar at least once but it was just unfortunate. Not her fault, but it was a bit rough. The food was ok. We ordered artichoke dip and olive tapenade. Both were good but they didn't include enough toasts... I'm not sure if we could have asked for more but the tapenade especially really could use more to start. The bread was softer than I prefer, especially for an Italian place; I'm surprised that for this cuisine it was just served with butter, rather than olive oil/olive oil and parmesan/something else more fitting the theme. I'm a woman gal who likes her salt, but even I thought my dish was salty. I had a chicken dish that came with some pasta on the side. The I think most of the others had similar thoughts about their dishes. The OSF wasn't the worst. I would visit again if someone wanted to, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. There are better places for Italian food in town, and though the service was (hopefully) just an unfortunate circumstance, that combined with the food doesn't make it worth another shot. But the location is good and there's a ton of parking (the lot just east of the restaurant is 3 hour free parking) and street parking as well. read more

My lobster and crab ravioli came luke warm to the table which was disappointing and made it hard to enjoy my meal. I like my food to arrive hot. The server forgot my friend's beverage until the end of the meal, but remembered mine. My espresso martini drink was tasty. The salad dressing was good, but other than that the salad was lettuce out of a bag with some carrot shavings. Probably will opt for a different place next time we are craving pasta. We went here for a Birthday party of I would say 20. They got us all in, seated, and drinks right away. Orders a little slower, not their fault, that is because members of our party trickled in late. Our appetizers we didn't have to wait to long for. They got there super fast while we waited for everyone to show up. Fried ravioli, bread sticks, and artichoke dip. For the main meal I had the lobster ravioli, and my guy had the 3 meat combo. I believe that is what it was. Everything was delicious. They brought out dessert, I was too full to eat it. I couldn't even finish my meal. I was bummed, I forgot my left overs. Will be back again some time. Tried a bite of the mushroom ravioli, I think I liked that better than the lobster. The staff is friendly but they always seem to be understaffed causing the waiters/waitresses to be backed up and take a little too long. I am not exaggerating when I say I audibly let out a "YES!" when I saw back in November that an Old Spaghetti Factory was coming to town. OSF is one of those places that my family would go to at least twice a month. We would go for any reason for celebration: graduations, birthdays, Thursdays, Etc. I made the effort to stop in on their grand opening because I couldn't wait a single second longer to get in there. All of my previous trips to the OSF came with a wait time for seating. I was expecting that for the Eugene location but was surprised to be seated immediately. It's going to be interesting to see how popular OSF becomes in the future. If there will ever end up being a wait time. They took over the old Oregon Electric Station which is the perfect spot for them. Every OSF is located approximately close to a train station. They were already equipped with estetic and even the classic train car seating. I am a creature of habit and have been ordering the Mizithra pasta for most of my life. It's just always so good. Do yourself a favor and order the spumoni as your ice cream scoop at the end of the meal. There isn't anything like it. read more

I ate here for the first time the other night and it was great! I believe the old spaghetti factory is a chain. Menu was pretty big lots of options which I liked a lot. Our server was so friendly, great service. Food was pretty quick to come out. Each entree comes with a choice of soup or salad and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. So you are getting a 3 course meal. It's reasonably priced as well. Restaurant is huge and would be a good spot for a big group. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which was really delicious. The bread was also so tasty, it came out fresh and piping hot with butter. Overall, if you like Italian food you will absolutely love this place! Oh gosh where to start. I worked here for a bit when it was OES and it is such a cool building so I was super excited to see a restaurant that would fit the aesthetic go in. It might be a chain but at least it was started in Oregon. We had a reservation for 5:45 and got there on time to a line out the door and some people that were leaving to go elsewhere. When I went to check in I was told it would be a 45 min wait... I clarified even with a reservation and was told yes we took too many walk-ins... We had tickets to a show at the Hult Center as I'm sure many others who were there did being that it's two blocks away. While we waited I looked around the dining rooms a bit to see what was the same and what was different some of the management talked to me a bit and told me some fun facts about where different pieces of glass in the building came from what they'd changed and such. They managed to squeeze us into a booth in the bar in about a half hour. We decided everything we wanted to order asap so that we could make it to our show in time and then waited for quite a bit to even have our waitress show up. When she was finally able to get to us Maddie was a very helpful and friendly waitress! Every entree comes with salad (with a choice of dressing) or soup, bread and some ice cream. We ordered our salad with Caesar dressing not realizing or being told that it would be interpreted as wanting the $2.99 upgrade to an actual small Caesar salad that was probably one of the most soggy Caesar salads I've eaten, it was like they bathed the lettuce in Caesar dressing flavored water and I definitely would not choose to pay 3 dollars more for it. The fresh bread was good but we also ordered the cheesy garlic bread to try and that was nothing to write home about, it was dry like it is made from yesterday's bread. We ordered the garlic Mizithra pasta that has bacon and mushrooms and the Garlic shrimp Fettuccine. The Mizithra pasta came out as just the plain cheese version at first so they had to make a new one with the correct ingredients. While they corrected that we are the garlic shrimp Fettuccine. The menu says it's a garlic cream sauce with hints of lemon, shallots and white wine, none of those flavors came through, not even garlic. The one thing that completely overpowered the dish was spicy, if I had to write the description for that menu item it would be pasta and shrimp with spicy heavy cream. When we finished scarfing that down trying to get to our show in time we were thankful when Maddie walked out with the other dish. This was more enjoyable than the first but without the bacon and cheese it would be very boring although the browned butter is also a very nice touch. Maddie quickly got our check and bagged up our ice cream so we could eat it in our walk to the Hult and we thankfully made it in time. This was a learning experience for us and I'm sure also an evening of many learning experiences for their management and staff. I'm not sure but this may have been their first Friday evening when there was an event going on at the hult center and on top of that there were actually two shows there last night which will definitely add an influx of people to that area. They definitely have kinks to iron out but a busy Friday night may not have been the best time for us to first try it out. I think I'll be back for a potentially quieter week day lunch and hopefully they will have a smoother operation running by then! read more
