I have heard fantastic things about Osteria over the years and decided to try it recently. It is very popular and I can see the appeal for the ambiance, lighting, and overall aesthetic. I will say, I did expect a lot more based on what I had heard in town. We waited for 40 minutes, which wasn't a bad thing, but we're not asked about seating preference. After our waiting time, we were placed along the wall. I recently had knee surgery and this was difficult to navigate for me. My partner is also deaf and we usually prefer to be seated across from each other. I wouldn't normally mention this, as it is my responsibility to ask and seek accommodation, but when I gave my name for the waitlist I was quickly dismissed and they moved to the next person. Also, this is petty, but the host misspelled my name (His name is Andrew). My name is Andrea. Just a weird experience overall. Up next, the service. We were given our seats. What I did not know is that you order via QR code, which surprised me since the expectation I had was that this was an upscale dining experience. I ordered through QR two cocktails (both delicious), their salad, and a pizza. I will say their cocktails were fantastic and I would go again just for those. However, the salad came out well before our drinks (expected since I ordered off QR), and was so salty. There was extra flaky salt on a traditionally, what seemed like, Caesar. Since ceasars have Parmesan (salty) and anchovies (also salty) the extra salt was so incredibly noticeable it almost made it hard to eat. I'm not one to waste, and ate it, but would not order that again. The flaky salt was so prevalent, it was stuck in my molars. I'm going to preface this with I already thought that the salad was salty, which was unexpected. We offered a pizza that had anchovies, which are also salty. If I had know the pizza would have been that salty and had no way to balance it with anchovies acid, I wouldn't have ordered the pizza that I did expect to be a bit salty. The pizza was good, but even for one I was expecting to be briny and salty, between the olives and the anchovies, it was so incredibly salty. I sincerely hope this was a one off, but my god, I felt my blood pressure going up as I ate there. Forgot to mention that we didn't get water until well after the salad came. Our cocktails we had to ask for. This was especially disappointing since we were out for my birthday and we didn't even interact with a server (besides Andrew) who was nonchalant and cavalier the entire time). read more

One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The ravioli was amazing. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked. We also had brussel sprouts, the DOP salad, and the fava bean puree (sooooo good). The burrata was good but not our favorite item. Overall highly recommend this restaurant, it's worth the wait! One downfall, no servers and you order through the app but the food comes out quick and everyone is super nice! read more

Nothing is bad but the wall you sit at unless you are here at 4:35pm to get the chefs table. Pizza is solid but I come here for the pasta and other dishes. Never had anything bad, fast easy to order but do agree, they need a bigger place. The wall sitting thing is cramped and annoying, but food and friends and service makes up for it. read more

This place is good but overrated. Very busy and clean, the speed in food turning to our table is good and the way ordering and serving is cool. The AC is a not enough but overall I feel the food is not the best. The pizza had hardly any anchovies. The Bucatini was very cheesy and salty, it was kinda heavy (we selected it looking for a light option) and the Burrata was on the dry side (Usually very creamy and soft). Suggestion: The crispy bread served with the Burrata has no flavor, a good alternative could be some of your pizza dough. read more

Osteria has such a charming vibe, perfect for a date night or a girls' night out. The drinks were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We started with the burrata appetizer, which was creamy and fresh, and I'd definitely recommend the meat taster plate (salumi) for anyone who loves a good charcuterie board. The squid ink tagliatelle was fine but a little overrated for me--I've had better elsewhere. The pizza, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious, though a bit on the oily side. Prices are a little high for Eugene, but honestly not bad compared to similar spots. Really delicious food in a semi-casual yet upscale establishment. You order and pay off a QR code at your seat and everything comes as it's ready (host suggested to not order dessert with meal as the dessert could come out first). A beautiful meal, and a very hip space. We were seated at the Chef's Table, so we got a front seat to the action. Mostly that's fun, but that does mean that while eating dessert I got a big noseful if pork ragu being plated. Depends on your personal pref. To the food- perfect Neapolitan pizza, charred and chewy with simple toppings of tomato and mozz. The fried sage was a nice touch. We also had the chicory salad, which had a surprisingly bomb anchovy dressing. I mopped it up with my crusts. I love amaro, and they had a nice selection, so I tried two. The Amaro Delle Sirene ", from Washington DC of all places, was fascinating, kinda port-like and weird. My affogato for dessert was perfection, as was Mo's panna cotta. Ya gotta scan the menu QR code which is permanently affixed to the table, practically bronzed there. then as QR codes do, this pull sup their menu: which if you can manage it -my device would not load the menu. Had to have my dinner guest do it. Then you scroll around at these tiny icons and descriptions - duh it's on a phone, then, click your items; then enter you CC info, have that run through a test $1 charge before they make your food. INSANE. Gauche. Tacky. I asked the waiter why they have waiters what their job was...Because as far as I could see it consisted entirely of teaching people how to us the ordering app. - After we placed the order my dinner guest asked for a certain dish to be served first... The waiter Then told us that the items come out of the kitchen in the order we select them on the phone menu!!! Oh My Nellie. (So much for teaching diners how to order...what do the waiters do exactly...? Why would they be tipped exactly...?) And. So. Because my phone wouldn't pull up the ordering process - my dinner date was charged for the dinner! - Yes, I Venmoed them immediately after - but - come on. The atmosphere is uncomfortable: hard metal straight back chairs, bright lighting... This was my first time coming to there brink and mortar area, they also have a food truck around town, both are fantastic. They have the iconic DOP white pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant. The service was great they were very helpful, even one of the servers came out and sat down right next to us and showed us his favorite items on the menu. They have inside and outside seating. I would recommend this place and I would have to say this is my favorite place for pizza in town. read more

Holy smokes! This place hit the spot on a Thursday evening. We were in town to visit my son and tour UO the following day and everyone was starving. We lucked out and managed to sit at the wall bar, 5 in a row. The staff were very accommodating considering how busy it was. We did things family style which was a bit tough considering the seating arrangements, but thankfully, we weren't too disruptive to the other diners...I hope! Recommend the Puglian and Tre Carne pizzas, Ravioli and Bucatini, AND the deep-fried and breaded Macaroni Carbonara. The other thing I really appreciated was having carafes of water and a filling station close at hand. Not sure if it was self-serve, but it was very nice not to have to bug the servers for refills. read more

This restaurant is so good that I had to go two days in a row because I couldn't get their food out of my head. The restaurant doesn't feel like anywhere else in town. One of my favorite spots to sit is at the food preparation counter. Watching the chefs work adds another layer of appreciation to the meal, making the experience even more immersive. The speed at which the food comes out is remarkable. On my second visit, I was able to enjoy a full three-course meal with a cocktail and still be in and out in under 45 minutes. The quick service doesn't compromise the quality one bit--everything I've ordered has been fantastic. The quality of the ingredients really shines through in every dish. There's a noticeable attention to detail that adds depth and complexity to the flavors, something we don't see often enough. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites, and I can't recommend it highly enough! read more

We got there early because there was 4 of us and it's a small place. But we didn't have to wait long and sipped a cocktail while we waited. Sat at the chef's counter which was such fun. Got to watch all things I'm going to order next time being made. Pasta! We got an order of polpette (meatballs) that were sublime. Perfect texture. 4 per order which was perfect. We ordered 4 pizzas which I don't remember the names: One with mushrooms that were so savory and full of umami depth One of the fried pizzas - delicious but definitely heavier The sausage and peppers why cch was super good And a classic margarita (sp?) which was perfection. Our return visit to ODP went very well. Sitting at the chef's table was fun and the young man making salads/apps was very friendly in sharing about the food he prepared. All I can say is WOW. In town for business and had a fantastic experience there with my colleagues. Eugene is very lucky to have a place like this cause there's not many in the country. A Naples trained Pizzaiolo. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, including salad DOP, Calabrian Pizza, gnocchi, Bucatini, cannolis, suppli, meatballs and a unique dish of fried olives, all of which were outstanding. Came by Osteria DOP to have some pasta pre-half marathon and apparently 100 other people had the same idea since there was an enormous line by the time I got there at 5pm when they opened. Restaurant is cute inside and food is good! It's kind of a mix between fast casual and a sit down restaurant since you order and pay through a QR code, so there's no real interaction with the staff there. The best thing we ordered was the naturale which was basically just their pizza dough. It had such a great chew and texture to it. We also got the suppli, rigatoni, and paccheri. I found the paccheri to be too fishy for me but my partner liked it! I enjoyed the rigatoni but I'm a total sucker for burrata. Suppli was good too although note it is one piece per order! read more

We decided last minute try Osteria DOP and we're glad we did, this was a great little spot to eat!! We were greeted by a friendly host and seated right away. The seating is not necessarily traditional but we didn't mind at all and I think some reviewers need to understand that not all restaurants are going to have tables set up how you like or for big parties but that does not mean it deserves a lower rating. I think it's a cool spot the way it's set up!! The service was fast and the food was really good!! Most authentic Italian we've had in Oregon! Been wanting to try this forever and it did not disappoint! We got the DOP salad, bianca pizza add sausage, and the rigatoni. The pizza was outstanding and so was the pasta. The salad was good but would want to try a different one next time. Service was great and despite some reviews saying the seating arrangement was awkward, my partner and i actually loved it. Glad we got there early we were the 4th family in line but still were able to sit at the chef's table. Angela was phenomenal and walked us through the evening. I am a snob for cacio e peppe and this one is top 3...including international travel....I didn't mind the ordering on my phone and it allowed me to pace the meal as I pleased. You definitely can't put in your entire order at the beginning. I don't know if I would love it as much without being at the chef's table...but...the food was amazing. My wife and I were among the first to enter when they opened so we were able to sit at the "chefs" table which overlooks the kitchen, the part that prepares pastas, salads, apps, and desserts. This was our second time. We love sitting here and watching the chefs work their magic. I'm not very familiar with the ordering process as it had been a while since we ate here. After about 20 min. we checked on our order and discovered we needed a little help getting our order started, no big deal. A couple drinks, salad, appetizer and a pizza. Everything was on the way, the pizza took a while but that gave us time to eat our app. and salad. We were having a relaxing leisure dinner and watching the show. We ordered another glass of wine and the cacio e pepe with bucatini pasta as we were sharing all our dishes. Very salty, would not recommend. As we started eating our pasta dish a waitress or hostess maybe approached us and said "we have a 90 minute time limit, if you're going to order dessert do it now so you can finish and leave". Until that moment we had a good time. The thing is there were empty tables and empty seats right next to us and nobody waiting for our seat. We thought it was pretty rude. Maybe the owner should post a sign that says "90 minute time limit". So for that I give 3 stars. read more

Food was amazing- read website and reviews- this is a walk in- no reservations & when they are full for the evening they are done- give them the correct number of guests- make it easy for all of us so we don't have to hear people complaining or making excuses! Now on the the good part! Place is cute and has seating outside as well. They do have a chefs table which I walked by and was very up close and intimate! Very interesting ordering system for such great food- you can order at a tablet up front or a QR code at your table. Items come out fairly quickly. We started with the burrata - which was delicious & came with toasted bread slices. We ordered 1 Suppli to slip and that was yummy! I would recommend both so far! I got the Rigatoni which was amazing! Al dented perfected! Great flavor! My husband got the Tonnarelli which was also good but I liked mine better! Pizzas looked amazing too! I don't give 5 stars very often but Osteria DOP earns it many times over! Our first time there tonight....Fun sitting at the chef's table, the vibe casual but energized. Staff is friendly and keep an impressive flow. My husband and I shared the gnocchi with oxtail, wide egg noodles with duck, woodfired pizza with buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil, and the seared brussels sprouts (amazing crispy texture!). Everything was so incredibly flavorful, we were very tempted to lick the plates but restrained ourselves. I am a dedicated home chef, so I greatly admire when a place does over-the-top amazing homemade dishes with fresh, local ingredients---and I can just relax and be served for a change! This is probably the best food in Eugene right now in my humble opinion. It's worth the wait. It's worth going back. Get a seat at the chef's table if you can and watch the artists at work. This is legit and delicious Italian food, and some of the closest and authentic since I was actually in Italy. If you can, go in a group and order a bunch of different stuff to share. The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. Really cool atmosphere. Seats overlooking the kitchen add to the experience. But, of course, this is not why you're reading the reviews. The food is fantastic and I really enjoyed my meal. Rigatoni was top notch. Burrata was amazing. The Bosco pizza with mushrooms was among the best pizzas I've had, and as a whole this restaurant serves as the favorite of our Washington-Oregon trip! Highly recommend, keep in mind though--you will have to wait. Come at least an hour before you plan on dining. Do not let this detract from the experience though, it's an amazing place to eat some of the best Italian food in the state. read more

Had the opportunity to go to Osteria and glad we did. The seating seems to be limited and there was a line at opening time, and that is a great sign. My son and I were lucky and went to sit at the bar in the rear where you get to see items being made in front of you and I must say it is very entertaining to see the craftsmanship and detail they put into each dish. We had the margherita and puglian pizzas and a burrata. The pizzas were great. My favorite out of the two was a puglian. The sweet onion was what made it over the top. The burrata was also very good, wish there was more bread, because you get a lot of cheese. The customer service was also great, overall it was a very pleasant experience and will definitely return. read more
