Service was great tonight from Eden. It was a slow night (Sat night) and we are thrilled because it is off season again! My kosmic pizza was insanely delicious per usual. The crust is just the best with this recipe. It's coated in pesto. This is my fav and I LOVE IT. The red wine sangria was very good as well. Loved the mint for garnish. I don't know how they make it but it's fruity. Hubby always orders pep and mushrooms and loves his as well. Pizza came fast tonight. We love that the pizza is always made exactly as it is as before. Consistency is key! We love coming here as locals but it is usually very, very busy.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain, but if you're in the mood for pizza with a twist, look no further. They have so many delicious pies, with all kinds of different toppings and combinations. They have more than just pizza, but that is always my go to! The crust is like no other, and the toppings... oh, the toppings! Whether you're a fan of classics like pepperoni or adventurous with choices like truffle oil, there's something here to satisfy every palate. Pro Tip: If you can't decide which specialty pie to get, chose half of 1 and half of another, so you get the best of both worlds. One of my all-time favorites is the Holy Shiitake! But wait, there's more! Mellow Mushroom boasts an impressive array of beers and cocktails that perfectly complement the savory goodness of their food. Now, onto the service. The staff at this St Augustine location was top-notch! We had a large party, and they went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and catered to. Finally, let's not forget the ambiance! Mellow Mushroom's funky atmosphere adds an extra layer of fun to the dining experience. It's vibrant, it's eclectic, and it's the perfect backdrop for enjoying good food and great company.

Quick unplanned easy meal before the Willie Nelson concert. Just two of us, split all. Vibe: Fun, large bar area, seating inside and out. Food: Very good. Against the odds we went without pizza and enjoyed the chicken Cobb salad (large slices of avocado, real bacon, chicken, yummy ranch and blue cheese. We also split the pretzel bites with beer cheese sauce. Drinks: Coke and a peach bourbon drink (good). Important to note that each Mellow has their own special local selections as well- some similar but I always recommend to explore.

Kids couldn't wait to dig into their half cheese/half roni pizza!

Camping at the beach at Anastasia State Park and our dinner cookout plans got derailed when an afternoon thunderstorm rolled through. Remembered passing Mellow Mushroom on the drive in so we thought we'd give it a try. This pizza hit the spot! Hot, cheesy, and oh so delicious! Crust is to die for and I'd definitely try the cheesy bread on our next visit. Staff were friendly and our pizza was out in less than 20 minutes. Place has a funky vibe and my son ended up with one of their "take a trip" tee shirts.

My husband ordered some meat slices as well. When he arrived around 12:15 pm on a Thursday to make the order, the lady at the register stated they are out of garlic knots for the day and that they have to make grandma's pizza as there were no slices available for purchase. This was disappointing as we wanted something where we didn't have to wait for long. The wait time was about 20 minutes. My husband noticed couple of customers who entered the restaurant but then abruptly leave since they didn't want to wait for the pizza to be made. Now onto the pizza, overall I enjoyed the grandma's pizza. I thought it was flavorful and the tomato sauce on it was delicious. The cheese pizza was pretty good too. The slices are big and filling. Overall, if you happen to be in the Flagler college area, give this place a try.

It's not a super big pizza shop, but it has some good seating. Most of the time there is a line out the door. The window is a beautiful thing to look at, you see all the pizza making and all of the types of pizza flavors they have. The slices are pretty large each one is about $9-$10 a slice, and let me tell you its completely worth it. Our favorite is the Genova, which is a white pizza with chicken, ricotta, and herbs. Also the chicken parm is delicious and the garlic knots are to die for; they are hot, soft, and definitely have garlic. Drinks are separate. They have calzones, salads, potato balls and large pizza orders. Its a good place to have lunch or a quick slice. It is definitely filling but worth it, it requires a nap after back at the hotel lol.

So, with that said, it's safe to say we were naive. Typically, we understand that any tourist spot you go to, the prices will be higher than some other spots that are less touristy. However, he we were still expecting cheaper slices of pizza. I mean they're slices and I can buy whole delivery pizzas for the same price they're charging per slice here. Now granted, their prices are also very much within eyesight as soon as you walk in. So, it shouldn't have been such a surprise, but we just ordered what we wanted and thought it wouldn't be that bad. Then, we realized they didn't take credit or debit cards until we got to the register. It was CASH ONLY. 4 slices of pizza, 2 water bottles and a small cup of pepperocinis came out to $53. My husband and I put our cash together to pay for the tab. Yeah, it makes sense to some people for it to be that pricey, but we just didn't expect slices to be that much money. The pizza was good. It's wasn't super cheesy, but the marinara pizza sauce was tasty and not overly loaded on the pie. Honestly, I was hoping the cheese and sauce would've been more fused together in pure delicious harmony, but it was like they heated up old pizza slices in the oven that had been sitting out for a long time. To me, the pizza didn't taste like an authentic NY pizza, but it was still pretty good. The service was decent. You could tell it was the end of the shift for their employees, based on their tired faces and lack of smiling enthusiasm. I guess I had big hopes for this place and it just wasn't what we were expecting out of that whole experience.

The cooked penne was sitting on the counter uncovered, just vibing at room temperature like it had officially given up. The sauce? The Chicken Marsala arrived undefeated in battle against any form of tenderizing. This chicken was not pounded thin -- it clearly lifts weights. I needed a steak knife, determination, and possibly a waiver to cut through it. We shared one entrée and a bottle of wine that tasted like grapes filed a formal complaint, and somehow the bill still hit $65. I checked twice to make sure we hadn't accidentally invested in the business. And just when you think the experience is complete, surprise! There's a debit card fee. We called ahead from the airport and had our order ready in about 30-40 minutes, which was a relief. However, the girl on the phone couldn't give my mother an exact time on when it'd be ready. Really? Her response was "I don't know" to how long two cheese pizzas would take... whatever. We kept it simple and ordered two large cheese pizzas because we wanted to judge the place based on its core products. The crust was thin but held its structure, and still folded easily in your hand the way a good slice should. The one thing I noted (and basically how all overpriced pizza places are) was that there was no seasoning on the crust at all. We're big fans of Domino's garlic crust, so that was a little disappointing. The sauce had a nice flavor to it, but nothing particularly memorable. I'll be honest though. I can't say for certain how much of our enjoyment was the pizza itself versus the fact that we were starving at that point. You should've heard my mom's comments about "I feel like my stomach is eating itself" lol. My mom gave it 2/5 stars and my brother gave it 3/5, so somewhere in that range feels about right to me. It's also not cheap for what you get, so just keep that in mind going in. That said, if you're nearby and need a straightforward pizza fix, it'll do the job.
