Went there twice on a recent trip to St Augustine, had to go back since it was so good!! Lobster Mac and cheese was fantastic, great pizza and pasta, and great appetizers! Service was great both times, the vibes/ambiance were fun, very Italian and beachy. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!!

    American Pie

So I was out with my three littles (all under 5 yo), and wanted to grab lunch. Pizza was the decision for the day. We had a medium cheese pizza and also ordered the American pie. What a great choice. The owner was kind enough to cut the slices smaller for my peeps. They ate the majority of the pie (non crust eaters here). The pie was fresh, hot and delicious. As mentioned in previous reviews, the American pie is a melty cheesy hamburger delight. I had to fight off the littles from eating my Parmesan steak fries! They have highchairs and boosters. Also, the wall paintings and decor helped with "I spy" games while we waited.

A quick weekend getaway before the hectic holidays. I've had the pizza before but wanted a fish sandwich. Checked the menu online and headed over. No wait on a Friday night, but I'm not complaining. We were seated right away, our drink order taken and brought quickly. Our server (can't remember the young gentleman's name), was great. Took our order and refilled drinks promptly. When the sandwich came, I was shocked. I opted for the fried mahi mahi. It was a huge piece of fresh fish. Served on a toasted bun and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries were good but just too much food. If you're close to St. Augustine, make the trek to try them out. We will definitely be back again!

Service was good. Not much conversation. The restaurant itself is definitely a home town, small, decorated by thrifted items including the tables and chairs. I should have gotten pizza. Calamari was beautiful rings, the breading has no flavor so the marinara is a must. I had the Trigger fish special with bacon risotto and a lemon pepper bechamel, and maple Brussels with cherry tomatoes. The server recommended it. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection it did not need the sauce as the bacon risotto polarized the flavor of anything else. I wish the Brussels would have been pan fried, they were more boiled and finished on a pan. I would go back to try the parm chicken or pizza.

I thought we were going for pizza. Most tables had pizza and were raving about it. My husband got the American Pie which is a most unique hamburger. They put a hamburger with pickles, mustard and onions and bake it in pizza crust. My picture shows the last few bites but it was amazing. The fries were also really good and crisp. I had the ahi tuna app. It came with a sweet soy glaze and pico de gallo. I thought it sounded like a strange combination but the pico de gallo really adds something to the ahi and the glaze. I thought the flavor was unique. I eat a lot of ahi and this had great flavor. Service was great. It seems to be a local favorite. Definitely will go back and try some other things.

Definitely needs some updates and touch ups - broken windows, a hole in the wall, paint peeling, etc. The team was all really nice (John was really great!) and it seems to be a favorite with the locals. The food was all pretty flavorless but not bad. We got the scallop carbonara and steak special (NY strip), good portions of both and seemed fresh. Overall, an alright place but probably would be happier somewhere else across the bridge.

So delicious. Best pizza in my whole life! Service was amazing too. Everyone was very kind. Great vibes inside.

This pizza place was conveniently located about 2 or 3 blocks from Vilano Beach. Conveniently, also, there are signs directing you from the beach towards where this pizza place is located away from the beach. It's a small unassuming place. I walked there to pickup a carry out order, so I only was inside briefly. It looked like just a casual spot to have a beer and a slice/pie. I ordered a plain cheese za and my wife ordered 'my wife's favorite' and after hearing her rave about it, I understand why they gave that pie that funny moniker. She loved it! I enjoyed my plain pizza also. (Pictured) They put on adequate cheese with a nice bake - not overdone or underdone. It's a flavorful cheese blend too. The dough is fairly airy; kind of Neapolitan-esque. It held up well and had good flavor. The sauce was good but nothing I found particularly noteworthy about - not overly tangy, sweet, spicy, etc. It simply complimented the cheese and dough. We also each had a slice of a chocolate chip cake; which was very tasty! They seemed homemade for sure! Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the mood for a pizza. Food was prepared as ordered, had plenty of flavor, and ordering/picking up the food was easy - the one gentleman even ran outside to give me one of the slices of cake that we ordered but was left behind. So I'd say they're good people!

American Pie Burger with fries and a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat

One of the very few restaurants in Vilano Beach. Looks like they are known mainly for their pizza. But they have a burger, wrapped in pizza dough, called American Pie. This is a unique creation. I asked the owner about it and he wanted to combine their pizza and self-proclaimed great burgers. I like the concept as I've never seen it before. So I went with it. It's possible the burger was already cooked as I saw they cook place it in the over, prior to wrapping the dough around it, and it was in there to warm it up. It was already dark. A left over patty perhaps? Not sure. Anyway, fresh dough wrapped the burger, with some mustard, onions and pickles and then placed back into the oven. After cooking, it is then cut in half. And it was steaming. The dough was cooked perfectly. The burger could have used more seasoning. But it was fine. The cheese was melted perfectly. I was pleased as a whole. It came with some fries, which were topped with parm. These were crispy and hot, as well. Oh, and for me, the best part? They had Sam Adams Cherry Wheat in bottles. Probably my favorite beer. Give this unique item a shot. I think you will like it.

180 Vilano Grill & Pizza is right before the Vilano Beach Fishing Pier and we stopped here for dinner before a boat road through St. Augustine! It's a small, family owned restaurant -- they can't store big freezers in the restaurant, so everything is made fresh, including the pizza dough. I had just had pizza the evening before so I regret to say that I did not order pizza, but my sister ordered the pizza called "My Wife's Favorite" which we found is now actually "My Ex-Wife's Favorite" haha! But good thing they kept it on the menu cause my sister loved it! I went the pasta route with the Carbonara, but I don't like scallops so I asked if I could just go chicken instead. I was a little confused when it arrived with penne noodles and not the typical spaghetti noodles. The penne was slightly over cooked so I ended up not finishing it, but I tried my sisters pizza and had the fried mozzarella so all was well. The service was great -- we felt right at home and had a great time as a family eating at 180 Vilano!

My husband ordered some meat slices as well. When he arrived around 12:15 pm on a Thursday to make the order, the lady at the register stated they are out of garlic knots for the day and that they have to make grandma's pizza as there were no slices available for purchase. This was disappointing as we wanted something where we didn't have to wait for long. The wait time was about 20 minutes. My husband noticed couple of customers who entered the restaurant but then abruptly leave since they didn't want to wait for the pizza to be made. Now onto the pizza, overall I enjoyed the grandma's pizza. I thought it was flavorful and the tomato sauce on it was delicious. The cheese pizza was pretty good too. The slices are big and filling. Overall, if you happen to be in the Flagler college area, give this place a try.

It's not a super big pizza shop, but it has some good seating. Most of the time there is a line out the door. The window is a beautiful thing to look at, you see all the pizza making and all of the types of pizza flavors they have. The slices are pretty large each one is about $9-$10 a slice, and let me tell you its completely worth it. Our favorite is the Genova, which is a white pizza with chicken, ricotta, and herbs. Also the chicken parm is delicious and the garlic knots are to die for; they are hot, soft, and definitely have garlic. Drinks are separate. They have calzones, salads, potato balls and large pizza orders. Its a good place to have lunch or a quick slice. It is definitely filling but worth it, it requires a nap after back at the hotel lol.

So, with that said, it's safe to say we were naive. Typically, we understand that any tourist spot you go to, the prices will be higher than some other spots that are less touristy. However, he we were still expecting cheaper slices of pizza. I mean they're slices and I can buy whole delivery pizzas for the same price they're charging per slice here. Now granted, their prices are also very much within eyesight as soon as you walk in. So, it shouldn't have been such a surprise, but we just ordered what we wanted and thought it wouldn't be that bad. Then, we realized they didn't take credit or debit cards until we got to the register. It was CASH ONLY. 4 slices of pizza, 2 water bottles and a small cup of pepperocinis came out to $53. My husband and I put our cash together to pay for the tab. Yeah, it makes sense to some people for it to be that pricey, but we just didn't expect slices to be that much money. The pizza was good. It's wasn't super cheesy, but the marinara pizza sauce was tasty and not overly loaded on the pie. Honestly, I was hoping the cheese and sauce would've been more fused together in pure delicious harmony, but it was like they heated up old pizza slices in the oven that had been sitting out for a long time. To me, the pizza didn't taste like an authentic NY pizza, but it was still pretty good. The service was decent. You could tell it was the end of the shift for their employees, based on their tired faces and lack of smiling enthusiasm. I guess I had big hopes for this place and it just wasn't what we were expecting out of that whole experience.

The Chicken Marsala arrived undefeated in battle against any form of tenderizing. This chicken was not pounded thin -- it clearly lifts weights. I needed a steak knife, determination, and possibly a waiver to cut through it.
