Best acrylic set I've ever had. They shaped them perfectly and their color selection was amazing. They're also super clean and well organized which made for an easy and fast experience. I went early on a saturday and it wasn't too busy. They were very friendly and helpful. My only complaints might be that the foot massage portion of my pedicure was too short; like, less than 3 minutes long. Though she did use oil and hot stones on my legs which was quite relaxing. Also the foot bath water started out very hot but halfway through he turned it to cold water and that wasn't so great. All in all it was amazing service for the price. For a regular pedicure and a full set manicure I paid 86$. It was on the higher end but my nails look great and they really took their time! read more

I work nearby and stopped by during my break for a shellac manicure and spa pedicure. Everything was fine and the new owner was very nice. A few days later my one of my shellac nails already started to chip. I let the owner know, she didn't remember me from just a few days prior and asked skeptically if I had originally got my nails done with them. She agreed to fix my nail and to my horror, grabbed a used nail file out of the trash to smooth the chip. She didn't take all of the polish off, only the tip, applied more polish, baked a few times and sent me off on my way. The next day the entire tip started to peel off. I ended up going to a different nail salon to get it fixed. read more

I've been here twice, but I will not be returning. Both visits, I got a full set with shellac. Both times I went on a weekday afternoon and there was barely anyone there. I'll cut to the chase: (1) First experience was great, aside from a question about my hand tattoo which felt a bit inappropriate "So what does your mom think about it?" (No I wasn't in there with my mother, nor had I mentioned her at all.) It felt a little judgemental but I didn't mind (these kinds of things just come with having visible tattoos). (2) My second experience made it clear that this was not the place for me, as I experienced more direct judgement. I've been going through some hard times and I had decided to get my nails done as a self-care act, and I chose a yellow color because it reminds me of happiness and brighter days. I was fully aware that yellow on long square nails wasn't going to be asthetically pleasing, but I didn't care because the point was what it meant to me. After he gets done shaping the acrylic, he tells me "The color you chose is not good-looking. Your nails are so pretty right now, it is not a good choice." I was so taken aback that I laughed in disbelief and didn't know what to do. Looking back, I wish I had told him to do the yellow anyway, but instead I said "um... ok maybe just a clear coat then?" This was also a bad choice because the acrylics weren't opaque enough to cover up the glue and the ends of my natural nails, but he agreed and so that's what I ended up with. Often I will ask the opinion of the stylist if I am indecisive, but I definitely didn't ask for it in this case, so I left feeling a bit insulted and disappointed with the result of my nails. I never post reviews, but my experience here was so awful that I had to share it. The lady who did my nails started off great - she took extra care to remove my previous dip nails which took almost an hour. But when it came to applying my new coat of gel, she was very sloppy and paused mid coat multiple times to answer phone calls from her son. I asked her twice to make sure that she was painting my entire nail up to the cuticle but she brushed off by repeatedly saying "I know, I know." She clearly did not know, because my nails look a mess and are already chipping just three days later. I would not recommend this place. read more

I am not a fan of this place. Yes, they do a good job and use quality products but overall, am not happy with my experience here. Before getting a pedicure, I asked Catherine if I could get half off since I was only having one foot pedicured (the other is out of commission). She agreed so I sat down. Pedicure was going well. Manicure went well. Michael asked me to pay beforehand (which is standard). My total was $35. I told him $4 for tip and he quickly rung me up. I asked him if I could get half off for the pedicure as we agreed upon. He started laughing and said, "Oh thanks for reminding me." Then Catherine starts yelling at him in another language. Just because I don't understand your language, doesn't mean I don't understand the context. At this point, Mystique and I were texting each other about what they were saying. It was pretty obvious. Still laughing, he says, "Well you sat in the chair and used water and got a pedicure so we're only giving you $5 off." YES, I sat in the chair for HALF the time. Don't blame me for filling up enough water for two feet when I specifically told you I only need one foot done today after agreeing to charge me half price. Aaaaand he's still laughing. Yeano notfunny. Knowing it was not worth pushing, I let it go. He gave me $5 cash (aaaand he's still laughing). Basically, I only got $1 back since I gave them a $4 tip. That's like going to a bakery and paying full price for half a croissant. Or getting half your hair dyed at a salon and paying full price. Get my drift? I found their behavior shady and disheartening, especially on Christmas Eve. When you say something and then do something different it doesn't leave a good impression no matter how great your service is, how quality your products are, or how clean your facility is. One star, because my nails look pretty. Seems like they value a couple bucks more than customer loyalty. Since I'm not interested in being lied to, I will not be back. read more

Dude. doooood. $35 for a shellac FRENCH manicure? that's meticulously crafted by quite possibly the cutest, nicest, most soft spoken asian man in the entire universe?! uhhmm, what's not to love? My frenchie came out gorgeous and the salon was clean and tranquil. For once, I didn't get cut and didn't bleed due to rough handling of my very busted fingertips (hey, I work hard yo!). I was in and out in under an hour with a solid set o' nails. Perfect way to treat yourself. I hope MC Nails sticks around in the area, as they seem very hard working and dedicated to their business! So, totally my fault for not reading the new pricing in TINY print on the sandwich board outside the salon but OH WOW have they raised their prices since they re-opened. My gel mani and pedi were $85 before tip... talk about sticker shock. The gel mani alone was $37 (a $12 increase). I totally get needing to purchase cleaning supplies and protective gear but in chatting with multiple friends, and their salons have raised prices about $3 to help cover those costs. I love this salon and drive out of my way from my new house to go here but, unfortunately, I will not be going back. If you can justify a $37 gel mani, I would highly recommend! read more

From previous reviews, I was looking forward to having an hour to myself to get a great shellac mani and pedi and to decompress for the day. I sat down in the salon after making an appointment and the woman who was providing the pedicure was being fairly aggressive while prepping for the pedicure. Meanwhile, the gentleman started on my manicure, he didn't clean any of my nails up, he left them uneven and didn't even address the cuticles at all. I asked him about this and he said he would finish them at the end. I've never heard of someone shaping a nail after the shellac has been applied. I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time, it was meant to be an hour of my day not spent stressed out from work but instead it was awkward and weird. After the mani and pedi was completed, I thanked both of them and proceeded to pay with my debit card and was told flatly that they didn't like to run cards and told me to walk to Safeway to get cash. I was certain he was kidding or was making a joke, I asked him if he was able to process cards as I was staring right at the credit card machine right behind him. He raised his voice and again told me to walk to Safeway to pay him in cash. I was honestly shocked, I proceeded to follow his orders and returned to pay the couple, received no receipt. I communicated to them that as a first time visitor this was an extremely negative experience. When I made the appointment over the phone, there was no mention that they didn't run credit cards. I would absolutely never return and I'm amazed that there are such positive reviews. My manicure is extremely flawed, none of my nails are even and it cost me $75 total when my regular salon Lovely Nails charges $50 for an impeccable shellac mani and pedi. I haven't had a pedicure in over two years so was really looking forward to treating myself. First off, the women who did my feet, she looked just exhausted over worked I felt really bad and guilty she had to work on my feet, we had to repeatedly tell them we wanted paraffin wax when she understood it was like she was pissed she through the towel down and did it. Then the other lady, maybe it was the owner, she had short black hair a little younger maybe in 50s then the other lady. She painted my toes and in the end one toe got smudged on her because i lifted my foot and she got so mad she through the towel down and was like you lifted your foot. This has happened where the toe gets smudged at the end several times, but never have I had this reaction. She went to go check a customer out and the lady even said you look stressed. Needless to say I will never go back. I left a 20% tip on top of all this because I can imagine this type of work is not fun, but I hope management reads this. Definitely understaffed, everyone felt it in there, the tension was high, also could use some air ventilation. The good news is I was happy with my feet, they did a good job. read more

I was going to just go to one of the cheap nail salons near my house, but it had been ages since I got my nails done, so I decided to treat myself. This salon is GREAT. 1. Most meticulous manicure I have ever received in my life. My nails are immaculate. My hands have literally never looked better. My manicurist spent an hour getting my nails perfect. He was treating them as if he was painting the Mona Lisa. 2. The hot stone foot massage is just as good as everyone here has said. Brilliant. 3. The place was well decorated, perfectly clean, didn't smell like chemicals, didn't have an obnoxious TV blaring. What a great place to spend the morning relaxing. Beautiful, calming and clean place. I am glad I tried this place. The reviewers are so right! I had an appointment and waited for a while to get my nails done, but I I wasn't in rush. I didn't mind to stay and enjoy the massage chair. Both technicians are very nice and caring. Definitely will be back. It's my new usual place from today. I think I found my new nail go-to. Yes, I scheduled an appointment since most reviews I read said there are only the two of them working so walk ins aren't always taken. My nails turned out perfect and they had the color I've wanted in chelac which the other salons I've gone too didn't have. I get them really short, and they actually made them as short as I wanted which most nail salons don't like doing since its hard to paint with the chelac the shorter they are. MC Nails is a very sweet little shop. They do not have their own parking, but that isn't a big deal because it is on the same street as a Safeway parking garage. I love the color selection and that you are handed actual examples of the colors. I was looking for a shellack polish for my natural nails and they did an excellent job. The reason I am only giving four stars is that I asked to have a heart painted on my ring finger and a design of their choice painted on the other hand pointer finger, but the sweet little lady that works there did not understand what I was asking, so I ended up with a cute flower design instead... not a big deal, but still not what I asked for. I went in for a pedi/mani, and it seems like I paid for less service than those who came in for just one or the other. Having only two people working makes it hard to get the personal attention that some other shops give, but if you are just looking for a great set of nails then MC Nails is a great choice. UNIMPRESSED! I read through all of the reviews and was expecting the 4+ star service that most people give this place but unfortunately had a very negative experience and have to share. Read on: I came in to get a manicure and both technicians were busy with others. I was happy to read a magazine and wait while they finished up with their previous clients but they insisted that I have a seat at the first work station. I waited for a while before they handed me the nail color wheel, finishing up with the other clients. I was looking for something neutral and ladylike, so I chose a very pale pink. The woman came over to me and got the nail color I had picked out and placed it on the table and then scrubbed off my previous nail polish and then practically scraping the entire top layer of my nail off, as the man continued working on another client. The woman cut me in three different places, blood appearing each time. OUCH! At that time, three people walked in wanting a manicure each. The man quickly pushed the client he was working with out the door and then came to work on my manicure as they got started on the first of the three that had just walked in. Before the man started working on me, he insisted that I have another "prettier" pink, indicating that the color I had chosen was ugly. The colors didn't seem too different so I figured what the hey, even though I had really wanted the first color but he seemed very insistent so I didn't argue. The man rushed through the manicure, and before I was even dry, rushed me to pay and out the door. I didn't like the color he had chosen and as I looked at my nails for the rest of the night I couldn't get over how sloppy my manicure was. Now, weeks later, my nails are in terrible shape. I have had to cut my nails down to the skin because my nails keep splitting. Thanks, but NO THANKS. Never again. read more

This place is new and super close to my home, so I had to check it out. What's better than a nail salon RIGHT THERE so you can get your nails done with basically zero effort? I came with two girlfriends, so there were three of us to the two people working that day. It ended up being okay; they were pretty good about giving each of us attention and switching between us so none of us were just waiting around. Two of us got pedicures and my other friend got a manicure. I wasn't paying attention to how the manicure worked, but I LOVED the hot stone massage that came with the pedicure. And, of course, the massage chairs (what's a pedicure without a massage chair, right?!). It was interesting because instead of having a ton of nail polish on display, you choose from little color swatches. I thought that was kind of cool and a good way to see what the colors might look like on my nails. This place is obviously new, and it's very clean. I think our pedicures were $25 each, which is pretty standard. And it's been a few weeks and my toes still look awesome, so I'd definitely recommend these folks. read more

I had the best pedicure of my life at MC Nails today. Everything was perfect. I chose my color from the color rings that were given to me and things proceeded as usual for me until the awesome leg massage. I thought to myself, "This is a nice touch." I hadn't asked for an upgraded pedi, but I had been running around all day, so why not! As I was thoroughly enjoying my massage, the friendly nail artist took a couple of stones out- they just sort of appeared. I wasn't expecting it. She careful placed a circle of lotion on one stone and then placed the other stone on top. She then separated the stones and began massaging my legs with the stones. I thought I had died it felt so good. After my stone rub-down, she placed the stones under the arches of my feet. They actually kept my feet well-positioned as she applied the polish. Sometimes getting the right angle for you and for the nail artist is a bit tricky. The stones facilitated good positioning of my toes for her and comfort for me. She did a wonderful job painting my nails. While my nails dried, I watched people walking by through a wall of mirrors. It was very peaceful. After ample time had passed, the nail artist brought over some of those paper thin flip flops for me to wear out. I had inadvertently worn my gym shoes (I came direct from the gym). She took great care to put the disposable flip flops on my feet. Then she handed me a bag. I was a little surprised. She had bagged up my socks and sneakers to assist me. How nice and accommodating is that? I think my toes look great! I think the people there took great efforts to make sure each detail is executed well. I think the place is clean, bright and comfortable. I was shocked to be the only person in there. I kept thinking to myself, "What am I missing here? Why isn't this place packed?" When I went to pay, I was dumbfounded that the pedicure was $25. I thought for sure with the leg massage and hot stones I would pay a premium. As I was checking out, I gave the man a big compliment about my experience. He was very pleased to receive the compliment. He also offered the information that they only use supplies made in the USA. He specifically pointed out that none of the products they use are made in China. I am not up to speed on the USA versus China products for this field, so I have no opinion about this. I am only passing along the information. Maybe this is a factor for you. If I had to offer up a con, the only thing I would mention is that the volume on the phone is too loud. It has a shrill ring that disrupts an otherwise harmonious experience. This was my first time to MC Nails. I will be back and look forward to more experiences like this one. I decided to come to MC Nails after reading some rave reviews. I called ahead to make an appointment and was glad I did. They were pretty busy for only having two people on hand. I had the Michael do a gel manicure- purple french tips. He was so careful and meticulous as he made each tip perfectly straight. I was incredibly impressed. I also appreciated that he didn't buff my nail surface with a file before using the gel. I noticed my nails were in much better shape once I took the gel polish off because of this. The manicure lasted about 2 weeks and cost $40 (a bit pricey because of the french tips but worth the splurge). I would definitely recommend this place! read more

The first time I came here, my experience could have been better - it was more expensive than they quoted me, took longer, and they pressured me to pay with cash. But still, my nails looked nice. I decided to give them another try. I went in for an acrylic fill last month and it was just me in the salon. The husband and wife switched off during my session twice, which was annoying and weird. The whole thing took two hours. First, he scolded me (?!) for going to the "wrong place" to get my acrylics done the first time and said he was going to fix it and just globbed extra acrylic on top. Didn't even file it down underneath, it was uneven and crooked and looked plain ugly. I recently got engaged on vacation (yayy!) and when I returned to Seattle I was in desperate need of a manicure before going back to work to show off the ring :) I read through lots of reviews and based on a combination of price and good reviews decided to try MC Nails. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon and they seemed fairly busy for the middle of the day. A woman started on me but moved to a pedicure station to help another client, so I was finished up by (who I assume was) the owner. The employees weren't big talkers (not great at English) but that was ok because I just wanted to relax. I'm telling you ladies, this is the best shellac manicure of my life! He took a great deal of time shaping my nails to perfection, making sure my cuticles were on point, and then painted my nails like they were little pieces of art. He even had a little paint brush that he used to carefully get any stray polish off my skin. Like other reviews say, they have about 30 different colors of gel/shellac to chose from...I've never seen another salon carry close to that many! I'm writing this review 9 days later and my nails seriously look as good as when I got them done. No chipping, dulling, or peeling yet, and I have not been careful with my nails! For only $30 (plus a tip), I am in love with my shellac manicure. I have spent twice that much at salons for less than or equal to this level of perfection. I will definitely be coming back for a pedicure and more shellac manis! read more

I'm not sure yet if I will give this place another try. I walked in this evening to see if they had time for a gel pedicure. Fifteen minutes later they did so I ran a couple quick errands and came back. My complaint is that I was charged $40, but there wasn't any hot stone massage, scrub and so forth. On the website there's nothing stated about a simple pedicure with gels being that much or a different service. I've paid similar and these other steps included. I asked about it and was told those aspects aren't included, gels take more time, and next time tell them so they can do. My next question was what will it cost for both? They didn't really have an answer and stumbled. My conclusion is that because I was the last client of the night my service was shortened. Both folks working were very nice and courteous to us. The place is very clean. The actual shaping and gel application itself is great. They didn't charge me to polish my little girl's toes, albeit it was with her own special kid polish we brought from home. For that it was ok to pay what I was asked to and I did leave a good tip as well. read more
