The staff were sweet and quiet, which I didn't mind My pedicure turned out great, but my gel manicure was rough - it was still tacky hours later, and had a messy streak on my thumb that I didn't notice until I got home. It turns out that my nail beds had taken a beating as well - two toes and a finger had small cuts to heal from being pushed too far from the finger. I did see the owner doing another appointment that looked fantastic, and they fixed another girl's peeling dip nails for free, but the fact that her dip peeled after one day makes me think the quality here is hit-or-miss. Avoid this place. I wanted to give this place a try since it's close to my house. Big mistake! I wanted cat eye on my nails and they gave me some weird glitter nails, covered with what was supposed to look like cat eye but ended up looking like a line straight across all my nails in the same direction. I've stopped coming to this salon because I noticed that my nails were becoming more thin and weak. I used to get dip nails with tips because I cook and clean often at home and my natural nails (free edge) would always tear. I would get them done as a way to strengthen them/avoid pain, more so than for looks. I noticed over time my natural nails becoming weaker and thinner. I think this is likely due to the preparation and removal methods (extensive filing and peeling off old dip/tips with a spare tip to reduce soak off time). I get that they're a staff of two and can get quite busy (though I always called ahead for an appointment) but after I experienced a very painful split halfway through my nail bed, I decided to take a break and let my nails rest. That was a while ago and now my nails have fully grown out since the damage and are surprisingly healthy and strong. I've also changed up my nail care: - "nails are jewels, not tools"; trying to avoid using my nails for peeling labels, opening things, etc. - using jojoba oil on my cuticles at least once a day I've done more research on different types of nail services and am going to try Japanese gel and Apres Gel X in the future at a different salon, rather than dip. read more

This was my first time at this salon. I called in advanced to make an appointment but when I arrived to the salon, they seemed very surprised. They didn't have an available nail station so they did my nails half of the time in the spa chair and the other half at a nail station (when one became available). Additionally, they did not clean my nails before putting on the acrylic nails, while old nail polish was still on my nail (which is still visible after getting my acrylics on). Lastly, the length and shape of my nails are either not even or crooked. I've been getting my nails done for many years at varying places but this spa has left me with the most disappointing experience. I would say the prices at this spa are very reasonable, however it seems you might be losing quality with the price point. This was my first time trying the salon. I was looking for a place that did dip powder nails with tips. Getting my nails done is a special treat i give myself for special occasions like Christmas. I booked a week in advance, and followed up with a call to confirm a few days before. Yet there was still confusion when i got there at opening. I've had dip and tip done before. Love them for their durability, and long lasting quality. The woman who did my nails seemed to be rushing and failed to notice that 2 of the tips were slanting at an angle. They weren't busy and there was plenty of time. I mentioned it multiple times, but she just filed them more at the same angles. Also the dip finish was jagged on the edges and i ended up filing the rough ended down at home. It's been 4 days since i got them done and the polish has peeled up and off of 4 of my nails..... its not from filing, they came up from my base/cuticle of my nails, where i noticed extremely uneven top coat polish that didn't seal down or cover the polish. I'm not normally one to leave reviews, but to spend close to $70 for a service and have to now go try to get another top polish done to fix it for the holidays kind of sucks. I rarely get my nails done due to cost, and was hoping that they would turn out like some of the photos shared on the profile. read more

Don't come here. I saw the gooreviews on yelp and tried calling for an appointment and no one got back to me after 3 calls. I walked in and one of the women took me (not the owner). Here's where things went wrong: She cut two of my fingers while trimming my cuticles. I asked for a gel manicure with white polish. The polish application was sloppy, and when I pointed it out - BEFORE putting my hand under the LED light, she told me to cute the polish and she would clean after. You can't clean after without cutting or filing once the Polish is cured. I listened to her and cured the polish and of course it looked terrible and she couldn't fix it once cured. So I told her I was unhappy with it and she took off all the polish with the drill, burned two of my finger nails in the process. I asked for a different technician and another girl came out and did my nails. She also did a mediocre job, and after the nails on my left hand didn't cure properly and the base coat was lumpy, she used the drill to sand down one nail and just painted the white polish thickly over the other nails to try and cover it up. The owner saw that I was unhappy and that the quality of the work was terrible. She took $5 off my bill and threw in a 5 min massage. Today I have an infection in the cuticle that the first technician cut and nails that look like they were painted by a toddler. Avoid this place and go anywhere else. read more

Shout out to my nail Tech, Thu! She is very sweet and pays attention to details. I am very happy with my nails, as far as the overall esthetic and execution. However, I do want to give an honest review as to why I didn't give the place 5 stars.... 1) They share tools between clients and don't disinfect anything which is unhygienic. Every single tool used on my nails was either being borrowed from an adjacent customer, or had the tell-tale chalky appearance that it was previously used and not cleaned. There's nail debris all over the tools, countertop, etc. As soon as you walk in, this is apparent. 2) There is a tv playing one this and loud music coming from a different source. The noise can be distracting at best. If those two things were resolved. This can honestly be one of the top nail salons in this part of the city. read more

I do not know how this place has great reviews I went here and the nail tech acted like she hated her job she didn't smile once and she removed my acrylic set extremely roughly and it was painful. Decided to try out Sarah's because they had great reviews and are conveniently located to where I work. Thu is very skilled, professional, and careful. I showed a few pictures of what I had in mind, and she absolutely slayed the smoothness and fine lines in the designs with her steady hand. She will recommend services that are in the best interest of your nail health. Salon is clean and you can see the tool sanitation station and they wipe down the stations in between use. They really make use of that small space - note that it is smaller and cozier than midsize salons, but I felt the price overall was very reasonable for the experience and quality of service. I recently had an appointment for a manicure and although I have only had pedicure's here, I thought it would be safe to get a manicure. Well, that was a BIG mistake. Lee-lee did my nails and I don't know what she did but the next day my nails felt weak and brittle. Within a week 3 of MY Natural nails broke. I cut all my nails off. I have had 2 different manicures at a different nail shop and my nails were just fine. IDK what she did or what she used on my nails BUT I will NEVER go back. I even gave a $15 tip (28%) This was an expensive lesson to learn. read more

I haven't been back to Sarah's Nail & Spa in a while, and feel like I need to update my original 5-star review as followed: 1. The main reason why I stopped going was because I started to notice that my nails were getting weak and brittle with every visit. I don't do gel and only get regular manis & pedis, and so after months of coming here (once a month minimum), my nails started getting weak and were white and peeling. I am not sure what exactly happened, but it only started once I started coming here regularly for a few months and I noticed in between polishes. 2. Reading through other reviews and I have to echo a similar sentiment - they need to do better in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. Tools must be cleaned/sanitized between usage and I've seen them re-use tools with newer customers who come in (after turning around a customer who finishes getting their nails done and has left). I definitely started to notice a downward trend once Sarah's became busier (which as a small business, good for them!) and they hired a new worker (who is definitely more gruff) and they started to focus on turning around customers to move onto the next while sacrificing their prior quality and customer care. I'm hoping that they address these issues sooner than later, otherwise, this won't be good for them in the long-run. Until then, now that my nails have fully healed and back to normal, I'm on the lookout for a new nail salon. Revised rating from 5 to 2 stars - 2 stars bc I have some faith that they can bring back the quality, cleanliness, and customer care back! read more

You guys. This place is a diamond in the rough. I'm not an "every two weeks" kind of manicure patron. More of a "for special evens and maybe vacations" kind, so typically when I book a manicure I look for places that LOOK like a spa so I can feel like I'm getting quality products applied to me. Admittedly, this establishment doesn't have the polished aesthetic of a high priced spa-service boutique, but they are probably the most skilled technicians using the best quality products I've ever had the pleasure of benefiting from. Never in my life has a manicure lasted more than 2 weeks without chipping. This one is 3+ weeks with the only tell-tale sign that it's old being the grow out of my cuticles. Granted, maybe I managed to get a unicorn when I happened to drop in, but I most definitely will be choosing this place for future mani/pedi's. Again, it's not a gorgeously decorated salon that makes you feel like you've stepped into self-care paradise, but it's not dirty or uncomfortable either. It's a clean, comfortable (neutral in the decor) salon, with incredibly skilled staff that use high-quality products. It doesn't look like anything special on the outside, and it doesn't seem like anything special when you step inside, but it definitely FEELS like something special after you've let the staff work their magic on you.
