I went to this salon for the first time and was disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. There were many dirty food containers around my nail tech's station which I tried to look past but then she dropped a tool on the ground and continued to use it on my nail. I should have said something but was too shy in the moment since it was near the end of the service. I should have l spoke up because the next day I got an infection on that same finger she used the dirty tool (picture of proof included). A full set was $160 with tip which I would consider luxury prices for a place that was definitely not giving a high quality service... I will not be back and regret coming here. read more

I thought the nail tech was really nice, but other than that, I was disappointed by my overall experience here. I found the communication around the design complexity (and corresponding cost) misleading, between when I was first describing the design, and when the cost at the end didn't match my expectations. However, I could have spent more time clarifying and I don't think this was intentional. In terms of outcome, I do wish there was more attention to detail. I've never intervened when getting my nails done before, but in this case I did have to ask for some adjustments in areas that didn't look or feel clean, and there was dried gel I had to remove from under my fingernails. I wouldn't say the stuff is normally a big deal, but at this price point, I would have hoped for something above average in some aspect (either the outcome, attention to detail, soaks or other things for the overall "salon" experience, etc.). I dropped in at 11am and was paired up with Thuy, also known as Kim. I had came in with some p beat up nails, as I like to use my hands. I came in asking for an acrylic fill. She fixed my broken nail, and didn't file it to the stub. She kept the length of my natural nail, as requested. At this point, I was like, I wish I could bring Thuy back with me to the Bay Area!! I looked for salons that allowed me to make an appointment online and this one let me make it via Vagaro. The nail salon is located inside Sola Salon Studios. I loved their service along with my manicure and pedicure. The only thing I saw was that foot file/callus removal was not included in any of the pedicures. Nonetheless, I will definitely be returning here! UPDATE: I had to come back and change my rating. The same day of my dip powder manicure, the nail on my index finger came off. I called the salon right away and got booked for a quick nail fix 2 days later. Today (3 days after original dip powder manicure), 2 other nails suddenly came off while making breakfast. This has never happened to me and I usually get dip powder. I liked the service at this salon, but the quality is just not there. When I went back to get the index finger fixed, the nail tech didn't check the other nails to see if there was something off, or if another nail needed to be fixed. I can't keep coming back for them to fix each nail either, it's just not convenient. read more

My nails were in really bad shape when I walked into Marigold. In the process of moving I had broken all of my acrylics and ripped some of them off, leaving my nails super fragile and paper thin. Ivy and Mimi were very gentle with removing the remaining acrylics. Ivy did a great job with my new gel x nails. She took her time and paid great attention to detail! Mimi did my pedicure, which was also great! Both Mimi and Ivy were so nice and seemed to be genuinely happy, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. My experience at Marigold was top notch and quite honestly the best experience I've ever had at a nail salon. Others also stopped by without appointments and early for appointments during my time there and both Ivy and Mimi were polite and accommodating to all of their guests. This place is mediocre for nail place. I just needed my nails to be done because they were a little naked upon traveling. Convenience is key, they were located right under the Resident inn, making it extremely easy to access (an elevator ride away), hence why I picked this place. The price is a little steep in my opinion coming from California, $47 for gel basic nail manicure. They did not soak my nail or clean inside its nail, they just trimmed, cleared the edgesm and did what they did with the nail, end with some warm towel wrap. I like the result and how my nails, looks, treatment wise I think its about the same. The furniture were cute, and there was cafe music being played. The other girl had asked the customer if they wanted anything to drink, but nobody asked me anything, and I was actually thirsty. I ended up asking another lady if they had water bc she came to me half way to try to get my info for their system? It was a bit confusing, but I mean the nails came out cute, but my under nail was a little dirty, and i really wish i had/was able to soak my nails to moisten them. First off, the entire salmon is very intimate, it can only fit 4 guests at a time. Ivy was extremely gentle with removing my old set and shaping my new one. Her name started with an M, I forget her whole name. But look at the results. you can still the bubbles under the light - look at it closely & the back of my fingers were not fixed. Of course, I still paid for the whole thing because that's the right thing after all the work done & the fact that I paid more than usual with the same type of design. I just wished my request weren't dismissed, after all it's my nails & have to look at it! but it is what it is, still made it work. It took over 2 hours and it does not look right! I was traveling and would recommend you ask for all the charges before receiving a service here. I didn't want to review the quality of the service because the staff seemed friendly enough but staff aside, the quaity of their Gel Manicure is the worst I've ever had. The gel ($90+ service not including my pedi or tip) has completely LIFTED from one of my nails (meaning it is seperated from the fake nail). This means the tech did not properly apply or prep my nails. I've never had this happen before and I've been getting gel nails for over 24 years. I felt uncertain about getting them done because I asked if they could do the shape of my current nails as a fill in (They said no because they didn't have time due to high volume of customers waiting. Mind you I made an appointment and they accepted it over the phone, not sure why they should impact my service if they are overbooked) but I said fine. Then I asked for acrylic (they had already removed the gel from my previous service) and they told me they could only give me gel because it was "previously gel" which I've never heard before, especially considering that they already removed the gel from my nails. But I said fine as I was in Seattle for a concert and really didn't have time to book another appointment elsewhere. I had the nail tech complete 3 repairs (meaning she took everything off the 3 nails, this includes the thumb in the photo that lifted) and to leave the shape of the rest untouched since they couldnt make them like the rest of my nails. She started on my right hand and began to shape the nails I requested to be untouched. I stopped her from doing this on my left hand when I noticed. Not even my nails that I had them do a fill in on in SEPTEMBER has lifted. The nail set laid by the Seattle tech just a week ago is lifting. I don't understand. I still tipped for the service and truly wasn't going to leave this review but a couple days ago I noticed smudges under my nails to find out that it is becuase its completley seperate from the gel on top. Again, this is a first, I am from Chicago and never had my nails seperate. So I have to speak up. I would have rather been turned down for the service if it couldn't be completed properly. I don't live in Seattle so I can't even get a refund or get them fixed. Oh well. But yes, this be a great salon for natural nails, but not for medium-long acrylics/gel read more

Overall, Marigold is a great place to get your nails done. I found this location about a year ago and really liked the chill vibes that it presented. Unlike other nail salons that are constantly busy and loud, this space is more intimate and relaxing. I usually do gel nail or natural dip service and love how Mimi does my service. The price point for the service was worth it, in my opinion. My nails always lasted 4 weeks with Gel and 6 weeks with the natural dip. I got pedicures here every 3-4 weeks usually too, no issue. All had been going well until as of late. The last few appointments I had would be switched to a different technician day of. While I understand giving individuals a chance, I like going to the same person as they know what I like already and understand my nails. The last pedicure appointment I had, whomever I was switched to, seemed to have a difficult time at certain parts of the appointment. For pedicures, I always get the one with extras in it in order to relax. One of the parts was not included. Also, one of my toe nails was cut diagonally, the cleaning tool digging too far under the nail, to the point it started to turn red. I had to conclude the appointment and took care of the filing at home myself. The point that determined that I would no longer return occured at my most recent appointment. They switched the technician again, which concerned me since this appointment was for my finger nails. They had the receptionist apparently take my appointment. I arrived at 4 for my appointment and it took her over an hour to remove my gel dip. This is the natural gel dip and never has it taken more than 15 minutes when others do it. On top of that, because she was the receptionist, she was expected to take all the phone calls in my appointment. I was a bit frustrated. I did decide to cancel the appointment asking them to just take the gel off and that I would file and shape my own nails at home. I paid for the service in full and did not skip on paying. Again, great nail salon, vibe, and results if you get the nail techs that know what they're doing. At this point, I will be looking for another nail salon due to my most recent 2 appointments. read more

Poor work. I mean I showed the picture how I wanted and they did completely different. Very patchy and they applied 4 freaking coats of polish because the color was not right. My advice: do it at home if you are choosing this place. My husband told he would pay 5$ for the work. Express manicure was also very average, not sure but I think they usually push cuticles and clean, none of that was done. Online booking did not work, so I had to call and book an appointment, they did not note down gel removal. Overall, very haphazard and unsatisfactory.
