I thought the nail tech was really nice, but other than that, I was disappointed by my overall experience here. I found the communication around the design complexity (and corresponding cost) misleading, between when I was first describing the design, and when the cost at the end didn't match my expectations. However, I could have spent more time clarifying and I don't think this was intentional. In terms of outcome, I do wish there was more attention to detail. I've never intervened when getting my nails done before, but in this case I did have to ask for some adjustments in areas that didn't look or feel clean, and there was dried gel I had to remove from under my fingernails. I wouldn't say the stuff is normally a big deal, but at this price point, I would have hoped for something above average in some aspect (either the outcome, attention to detail, soaks or other things for the overall "salon" experience, etc.). At other salons I've been to, I was happy to pay more because I left really happy with the result and experience, but this time it didn't feel worth it. read more

I dropped in at 11am and was paired up with Thuy, also known as Kim. I had came in with some p beat up nails, as I like to use my hands. I came in asking for an acrylic fill. She fixed my broken nail, and didn't file it to the stub. She kept the length of my natural nail, as requested. At this point, I was like, I wish I could bring Thuy back with me to the Bay Area!! I asked for a sheer nude, #25 to be exact, and later showed her a design I liked online. She's so skilled and my nails look amazing. read more

I looked for salons that allowed me to make an appointment online and this one let me make it via Vagaro. The nail salon is located inside Sola Salon Studios. I loved their service along with my manicure and pedicure. The only thing I saw was that foot file/callus removal was not included in any of the pedicures. Nonetheless, I will definitely be returning here! UPDATE: I had to come back and change my rating. The same day of my dip powder manicure, the nail on my index finger came off. I called the salon right away and got booked for a quick nail fix 2 days later. Today (3 days after original dip powder manicure), 2 other nails suddenly came off while making breakfast. This has never happened to me and I usually get dip powder. I liked the service at this salon, but the quality is just not there. When I went back to get the index finger fixed, the nail tech didn't check the other nails to see if there was something off, or if another nail needed to be fixed. I can't keep coming back for them to fix each nail either, it's just not convenient. read more

My nails were in really bad shape when I walked into Marigold. In the process of moving I had broken all of my acrylics and ripped some of them off, leaving my nails super fragile and paper thin. Ivy and Mimi were very gentle with removing the remaining acrylics. Ivy did a great job with my new gel x nails. She took her time and paid great attention to detail! Mimi did my pedicure, which was also great! Both Mimi and Ivy were so nice and seemed to be genuinely happy, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. My experience at Marigold was top notch and quite honestly the best experience I've ever had at a nail salon. Others also stopped by without appointments and early for appointments during my time there and both Ivy and Mimi were polite and accommodating to all of their guests. This place is mediocre for nail place. I just needed my nails to be done because they were a little naked upon traveling. Convenience is key, they were located right under the Resident inn, making it extremely easy to access (an elevator ride away), hence why I picked this place. The price is a little steep in my opinion coming from California, $47 for gel basic nail manicure. They did not soak my nail or clean inside its nail, they just trimmed, cleared the edgesm and did what they did with the nail, end with some warm towel wrap. I like the result and how my nails, looks, treatment wise I think its about the same. The furniture were cute, and there was cafe music being played. The other girl had asked the customer if they wanted anything to drink, but nobody asked me anything, and I was actually thirsty. I ended up asking another lady if they had water bc she came to me half way to try to get my info for their system? It was a bit confusing, but I mean the nails came out cute, but my under nail was a little dirty, and i really wish i had/was able to soak my nails to moisten them. There isn't really parking around the area, but its walkable. No accessible bathroom as it is a small shop, hidden and shared with other beauty hall salons. read more

I checked online and saw builder gel was $45, so I called to confirm. Bella told me it would be $55, so I booked. At the appointment, she was rude when I asked for a shape fix, ignored me, and got aggressive. They spoke about me in another language, clearly laughing at me. When it was time to pay, the price was suddenly $110. I questioned it since Bella said $55 and removal was $15. Another woman jumped in saying they don't even offer builder gel, contradicting everything. I paid but won't be coming back. Totally disrespectful and dishonest experience. They give bully vibes.. instead of being mean to someone who is paying for a service try to take the time to refresh your breath. read more

My 1.5 week poorly done Gel X set from another city started lifting and I had to find a salon in the city ASAP as I was visiting my friend for the week. Now I'm tempted to move to Seattle to just get my nails done by Ivy. I have never seen someone pay so much attention to detail and technique. First off, the entire salmon is very intimate, it can only fit 4 guests at a time. Ivy was extremely gentle with removing my old set and shaping my new one. She wasn't rushed and asked for my input throughout the entire appointment. My new set feels so secure, but still really light. She absolutely killed it on the daisy design on my ring finger. I'll be back soon just for Ivy. Cannot recommend enough! read more

The reviews were promising compared to the other nail salons closer to where I was. I called in about an hour or 2 prior coming in to ensure they're willing to take me in and/or have time to get my nails did. They said yes, asked how long will it take me to get to them I told her I'm only about 15 min away - walking distance. She said to come right away so I made my way to their salon. Really appreciated them being so accommodating aside from the nail job that was done. I'm particular how I like my nails to be cleaned or polished like how everyone else i presume. I tried to let her know couple things that seemed off to my liking ex. the bubbles and couple fingers that i feel needed more polish, I said it in a nice way though. Not sure if she was tried or whatever but Idk then on she seemed to be annoyed, tossing my hands aggressively. After that I knew I didn't want to come back because the way she reacted to what I said. Her name started with an M, I forget her whole name. But look at the results. you can still the bubbles under the light - look at it closely & the back of my fingers were not fixed. Of course, I still paid for the whole thing because that's the right thing after all the work done & the fact that I paid more than usual with the same type of design. I just wished my request weren't dismissed, after all it's my nails & have to look at it! but it is what it is, still made it work. I did wanted to like this place since they seem to have regulars who they conserve with. You can tell they have a built a good relationship with them but yeah not for me after this experience. read more

I was traveling for work and stopped by the salon because I wanted to try something different. I got my first ever set of gel X from Sammy. I told her it was the first time I've ever had anyone handle my nails, let alone put a full set of extensions on top of them. She was super patient and was really meticulous and making sure that the design was super even and even cleaned up my cuticles and made them look so amazing! I live in San Francisco and wish I could fly up to come see her every time when I get my nails done ! She made me feel so comfortable. I've been getting my nails done professionally for a few years and Marigold Nails is the best nail salon I've ever been to. Ivy is extremely friendly, professional, and above all else, is excellent at what she does. The setting is spa-like which I appreciate after visiting so many turn-and-burn style nail salons. She has a fantastic color selection and meticulously helped me pick out the color combo I was looking for. She also helped repair my damaged nails and gave me the most beautiful set of fall-inspired gel-x nails. I'm happy I've found such a fantastic nail salon! read more

Horrible experience! I booked a dipping ombré and transparency in pricing was not there! $105 is absolutely ridiculous. They charge to remove whatever you have on your nails. I have NEVER paid for that as it has always been included in the service. Then they used dipping powder for the base and gel for the white ombré. It's already discolored and it's been only 4 days! It took over 2 hours and it does not look right! I was traveling and would recommend you ask for all the charges before receiving a service here. Customer service was not a strength as the entire time I was there, the staff spoke in another language and not with customers. Disappointed for sure! read more

I didn't want to review the quality of the service because the staff seemed friendly enough but staff aside, the quaity of their Gel Manicure is the worst I've ever had. The gel ($90+ service not including my pedi or tip) has completely LIFTED from one of my nails (meaning it is seperated from the fake nail). This means the tech did not properly apply or prep my nails. I've never had this happen before and I've been getting gel nails for over 24 years. I felt uncertain about getting them done because I asked if they could do the shape of my current nails as a fill in (They said no because they didn't have time due to high volume of customers waiting. Mind you I made an appointment and they accepted it over the phone, not sure why they should impact my service if they are overbooked) but I said fine. Then I asked for acrylic (they had already removed the gel from my previous service) and they told me they could only give me gel because it was "previously gel" which I've never heard before, especially considering that they already removed the gel from my nails. But I said fine as I was in Seattle for a concert and really didn't have time to book another appointment elsewhere. I had the nail tech complete 3 repairs (meaning she took everything off the 3 nails, this includes the thumb in the photo that lifted) and to leave the shape of the rest untouched since they couldnt make them like the rest of my nails. She started on my right hand and began to shape the nails I requested to be untouched. I stopped her from doing this on my left hand when I noticed. Not even my nails that I had them do a fill in on in SEPTEMBER has lifted. The nail set laid by the Seattle tech just a week ago is lifting. I don't understand. I still tipped for the service and truly wasn't going to leave this review but a couple days ago I noticed smudges under my nails to find out that it is becuase its completley seperate from the gel on top. Again, this is a first, I am from Chicago and never had my nails seperate. So I have to speak up. I would have rather been turned down for the service if it couldn't be completed properly. I don't live in Seattle so I can't even get a refund or get them fixed. Oh well. But yes, this be a great salon for natural nails, but not for medium-long acrylics/gel read more

Marigold Salon is a life saver! I called during my lunch break today to see if they were able to fix my nails. I had my nails done at another salon in Renton and they did a terrible job. So thankful that Marigold was able to get me in last minute. Everyone was extremely kind and the salon was clean. Special thanks to Kim; she listened to my concerns and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. She totally delivered! I left excited to come back in 3 weeks and made my appointment already online. I was in town for my holiday Christmas party. I looked around the area and called a few places. Most were appointment only and no space for a walk in. Marigoldnails took me right in and did a fantastic job!! I was so impressed with their service and quality work. I didn't get the ladies name who did my nails. She was an older lady. She took her time, cleaned my cuticles, which is a rare thing when getting acrylics done, in my experience. My nail shape was exactly what I wanted! Overall, Marigold is a great place to get your nails done. I found this location about a year ago and really liked the chill vibes that it presented. Unlike other nail salons that are constantly busy and loud, this space is more intimate and relaxing. I usually do gel nail or natural dip service and love how Mimi does my service. The price point for the service was worth it, in my opinion. My nails always lasted 4 weeks with Gel and 6 weeks with the natural dip. I got pedicures here every 3-4 weeks usually too, no issue. All had been going well until as of late. The last few appointments I had would be switched to a different technician day of. While I understand giving individuals a chance, I like going to the same person as they know what I like already and understand my nails. The last pedicure appointment I had, whomever I was switched to, seemed to have a difficult time at certain parts of the appointment. For pedicures, I always get the one with extras in it in order to relax. One of the parts was not included. Also, one of my toe nails was cut diagonally, the cleaning tool digging too far under the nail, to the point it started to turn red. I had to conclude the appointment and took care of the filing at home myself. The point that determined that I would no longer return occured at my most recent appointment. They switched the technician again, which concerned me since this appointment was for my finger nails. They had the receptionist apparently take my appointment. I arrived at 4 for my appointment and it took her over an hour to remove my gel dip. This is the natural gel dip and never has it taken more than 15 minutes when others do it. On top of that, because she was the receptionist, she was expected to take all the phone calls in my appointment. I was a bit frustrated. I did decide to cancel the appointment asking them to just take the gel off and that I would file and shape my own nails at home. I paid for the service in full and did not skip on paying. Again, great nail salon, vibe, and results if you get the nail techs that know what they're doing. At this point, I will be looking for another nail salon due to my most recent 2 appointments. read more

Poor work. I mean I showed the picture how I wanted and they did completely different. Very patchy and they applied 4 freaking coats of polish because the color was not right. My advice: do it at home if you are choosing this place. My husband told he would pay 5$ for the work. Express manicure was also very average, not sure but I think they usually push cuticles and clean, none of that was done. Online booking did not work, so I had to call and book an appointment, they did not note down gel removal. Overall, very haphazard and unsatisfactory. I am worried how I am going to remove all these coats of polish. read more

I called in to see if they had time to remove 2 acrylic nails from my toe. The person on the phone repeated my request to me, and I said "yes I have acrylic on my big toes." She goes on to laugh and then say, no, we don't have time today." That was extremely rude and unprofessional. What exactly was funny about my situation? There was no customer service regarding the call and I would never want to do business with a company that does not consider what a potential customer/ client could be going through. It pains me to write this review because I have been going here for years…read more I got a gel manicure last Friday. The front desk girls were nice. The initial first half of my appointment was fine. Things shifted towards the second half of my appointment. I accidentally dipped my hands back in water after my nails were filed and buffed. The tech I was working with (Lily) seemed visibly annoyed with me. I felt very awkward for the rest of my appointment. After that happened, she was weirdly pushy and abrupt with my hands while curing the gel nails under the LED light. That wasn't even the worst part. During the gel application, I saw this girl wipe her cleanup brush with extra alcohol directly onto the granite countertop, then use the same brush directly on my skin to clean the excess gel on my hands. I have always seen techs here use a paper towel (or another white towel) for this. I was so grossed out. To top off this experience, the hot towel and hand massage at the end of my appointment was super rushed and not thorough at all. So disappointing. I hope this was a fluke, but sad to say I will probably be going elsewhere.

I found the reviews here on Yelp and immediately knew this was the place. She was so warm, friendly, and communicative - and responded right away to my inquiry. She got me in so fast, and I could not be happier with everything. Her space is *pristine* - I have never seen a nail space so clean. I'm talking hospital-level clean. It is so clear that she is passionate about what she does, and her skill level is next level. She shaped my short, natural nails perfectly, and even identified some high stress areas (I work with my hands) and filed in such a way to reduce future breakage. We did a beautiful semi transparent pink polish that complimented my undertones, and she suggested a subtle French tip which I absolutely love. The end result is a super subtle, super beautiful "my nails but better" look that I adore. My only gripe? - that I live in Philadelphia and she's in Seattle and I can't see her every two weeks. Seriously the best manicurist and esthetician I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. And I can't wait to book with her again the next time we're out this way.

I've…read morehad five appointments there since late November, and every single time my polish has chipped in less than a week. This week just put me over the edge. I had my nails done five days ago and I noticed chipping on my right hand three days ago and now my left hand today. I've mentioned the issue at each return visit, hoping we could figure out a better solution, but the outcome has been the same. I've never had this problem before -- not at my previous nail salon in Seattle and not in all my years living in LA. So this has been especially frustrating. I'm currently only coming here because my longtime nail salon (Nice Nails) of nine years temporarily closed for remodeling. I'm counting down the days until they reopen in March. I truly wish I had a better experience to share, but consistency and longevity matter -- and that just hasn't been my experience here.

I did see the owner doing another appointment that looked fantastic, and they fixed another girl's peeling dip nails for free, but the fact that her dip peeled after one day makes me think the quality here is hit-or-miss. Convenient location, but I wouldn't go back.
