Mango Mango is a HK-style based dessert place that opened up back in 2013 with their huge emphasis on their mango-styled desserts whether it is regarding drinks, mango juice desserts or tea. The place is decorated with nice miniature decor on their shelves, along with gray cushioning seating and light bulbs hung above and along the sides of the walls. Upon visiting this place with a friend just a while back, I must say that their treatment of customers were extremely baffling. When we walked in and were seated, we were not asked what we would like to order. Not only that but because the workers were too busy chatting, it took us at least 5 min to get their attention and place our order. The mango mango combo that we purchased all in all wasn't too bad but slightly messy in terms of the placement of fruits. When we were finished with our order and asked for the check, once again, the workers were too busy communicating to realize we were finished. All things considered, this has been a terrible experience and I don't think I would ever consider coming back here. read more

First off off, this place deserves a 3.5. I ordered a combo B from the menu with my sister and mother and our order came fast. I just wished their tapioca was fully cooked because there were at least 2 tapioca that was not cooked. Also, one of their tong sui has grapefruit on top which really didn't match the taste. Personally, I like grapefruits by itself instead of it being placed in my desserts. I really did enjoy their ice cream thoguh since it was sweet and smooth which gave the tong sui some creaminess. Their Mango pancake thing was yooo decadent. I mean, it was good but I mostly tasted whipped cream in there rather than the Mango itself. I guess its because I'm not a hugr fan of whipped cream. I just walked in to get two drinks for take out, ordered the drinks D.01 and D.09 on the menu. When the orders came out, it look different. Apparently, the chick who took out our order said she heard E.01. Not only did she NOT look sorry, she didn't even look up at us address the issue of an unsatisfied customer. I have been to this location multiple times, tried their "delivery" option, given them several chances, and they still fail to impress me. In Person- The first couple of times, service was fine. It has been downhill since then. To recap my last visit there, I sat down around 7:45pm. We ordered 2 hot desserts, 1 cold dessert, and a tea. Waiting till 8:30 before questioning where any of our orders were. Meanwhile, other tables had already been seated and received their orders. When we finally asked the wait staff, they told us that their hot desserts take some time and their kitchen hadn't been working properly. Fine, we didn't mind waiting a bit longer, but that doesn't explain where our tea was. After finishing our tea and sitting around for a bit longer, out dessert was still nowhere in sight. No apology, no dessert, nothing. Paid for just the tea at around 9:30pm, and clearly did not leave a tip due to our lack of service and food! Was then harassed by. A tip is earned, not required. I am not one to tip poorly by any means but it was just so horrendous that I could not muster myself to leave one. Delivery- IT IS NOT A DELIVERY SERVICE. I used the Seamless app twice to order from them. First time, I picked it up from their location as it was on my way home, dessert was ready when I got there. Great. Second time, I chose the delivery option, which charged me an additional 2.50 on top of the generous tip I was already giving them. After about 45 minutes of waiting, I called them to find out that my dessert had been sitting there but they don't deliver. If you don't deliver, then don't advertise on Seamless with a delivery option. Simple as that. They ultimately gave in and found someone to deliver my dessert to me. By then the ice cream had melted, and my hot dessert was lukewarm. All in all, this place is an absolute abysmal. There are many other dessert options along 8th Ave or 86st to better suite your needs. read more

I've never had their food.. Guess why??.. because they have never delivered it to me.. I decided to order through GrubHub.. the estimate was an hour.. fine.. after an hour and fifteen minutes they gave me a call that they dont have a delivery driver and they didn't noticed the delivery on time.. seriously?? How did you guys confirmed the order without noticing it? Anyways. They offered me to pick it up.. no I'm not that stupid.. you dont respect me? I dont respect you neither. I called grubhub to cancel the order and then I called them back, to tell them that I'll pick up the order. They are still waiting for me as I'm writing this review. 10 minutes after they closed.. I'm sorry for any other employee that had to stay but not the one that was working on my order.. I am working in a restaurant and I know how things are working on restaurants and on GrubHub, Seamless, delivery.com etc, but dont do that. The dessert was meh. I have been to the Chinatown location numerous times, often ordering similar desserts with "snow white juice" aka coconut juice. So of course, that's what I ordered here. However, there is a slight difference in taste/texture.. it feels a bit watered down with additional coconut pulp. The coconut pulp tasted very artificial... like chewing on foam or maybe it's just me? Service: I don't understand the need for servers. Long story short, my group ended up approaching the servers just to place our orders. When our desserts arrived, we ended up waiting for spoons -- it turned out they forgot. Fine, fine, fine... but, should I still be paying tip on top of this? Personally, I think it would have been a lot more efficient to just order and pay over the counter and help ourselves to utensils and whatnot. My overall experience was eh... 2/5 and an additional point for the lovely interior design, so 3/5. read more
