This place never disappoints. Creamy and delicious Thai ice cream with choice of 3 toppings. My favorite is the matcha strawberry Nutella or the Oreo strawberry. Yum yum yum. There is also option of freshly warm crepes with fresh fruits and your topping of choice.

$8: Banana Chocolate Truffle crepe
Ashlyn K.

I decided to check out J-Petal around 4pm on a Sunday. The shop has ample seating for a dessert shop (8-10 small parties) and was about half full when I arrived. One positive is that they have free WiFi! I was stuck between ordering the Thai rolled ice cream or a crepe, but I settled on a Banana Chocolate Truffle crepe ($8) (banana, homemade chocolate truffle, almond, caramel, nutella, chocolate ice cream, whipped yogurt, chocolate custard cream, pocky). They have unique combinations that tend to be more fruit heavy. I got the banana chocolate one because it seemed to be the sweetest. Even though they list so many ingredients, the only things I could really taste were the banana and the chocolate ice cream. I've had the Japanese-style crepe both in Japan and other places in the city, and this one was the hardest to eat. It's so bulky and you need a spoon to eat it. The crepe itself was well made. Overall, I don't think $8 justified a very simple tasting dessert. Presentation was also average. I think I made the wrong choice and will try to come back and try the rolled ice cream to see if that is worth the hype!

the crepes here are alright but i wouldn't pay like $11for them. the workers here move fast even when they're busy but sometimes they do skimp out on the topping. the interior is also really long and huge. overall it's a pretty good place to get crepes, ice cream and milkshakes.

Place is clean, spacious with plenty of tables and chairs. The menu descriptions for crepes and ice creams are very small to read though

This was my first Thai rolled ice cream expectations and I did come in expecting to be wowed. Rolled ice cream is a fairly labor intensive process that involves creating a thin layer of cream on a freezing "skillet" and then using a spatula to roll it up. It was certainly interesting to watch. We ordered the Green Hulk. The green tea flavor was overwhelming in my opinion. The person sharing it with me said the banana flavor was overwhelming. Either way, the flavor balance was a bit off. The toppings were fun but not all the freshest or tastiest. Overall, the idea is cute but the flavors were really not great. I will go try other rolled ice cream (perhaps at other venues). The staff were cordial and the space was decorated nicely. In fact, we were commenting on the nice lighting fixtures and wall furnishings as we ate.

Was around the neighborhood and decided to check out this place. Thai Ice cream here is much cheaper than in the city and they offer a good selection of flavors and toppings. The Thai I cream does come with 3 free toppings and whipped cream. The ice cream wasn't bad. It would've been better if they broke the fruits more so the ice cream would be smoother. I would probably come back to try their crepes :)

Somehow tasted so bland

Savory shrimp crepe was a little bland and somehow tasted a bit artificial. The free soup was a nice touch on a cold day but again, tasted a bit artificial. I would pass on this place for lunch, but maybe as a dessert crepe would be better?

Love everything about this place, the service and the flavors. You get such a variety of different topics to pick from

Love this place. Everything looked so clean and they were really nice. I have been there a total of 3 times during the past two summers and once during the winter I also live pretty far from this place so it says a lot of good things about JPetal if people are traveling in the winter to get some ice cream.

My friend and I went to J-Petal the other night. It was my first time going there. The place has great presence. The neighborhood is very cute and J-Petal was very inviting and pleasant. I got the Cookie Monster rolled ice cream, my friend got Tokyo Sakura. Both delicious! It was a great little stop!

By far one of the best Thai ice cream I been here a few times and I always say I will try another flavor ice cream but I always order a Cookie Monster it's one of the best ones!!! You can't go wrong with it lol. The Japanese crepe are always amazing! Friendly staff and everything they use is fresh!

I recently moved from Brooklyn to Queens and I have to say this is what I miss most, I love their crepe desserts every time I go I have to visit, a plus is you get a stamp card and at your 10th stamp you get a free one, only down side is on my pregnant days my husband took me there since I craved them and a few times even though they went supposed to be closed for an hour more when we got there they would be set up for the night and not taking any more orders, still yet I love taken so much I won't take a star away for it. I have my very greedy personalized crepe so it could normally be $12.00

Haru W.

The staff are so nice and welcoming and you get to watched them make the ice cream. I didn't have to wait long for the Thailand ice cream. Also love the fact they let you choose 3 toppings, don't worry they have various kind of toppings for you to choose from.

We ordered one strawberry and one strawberry banana crêpe. They were filled with strawberries and bananas, and the outside was drizzled with glorious Nutella, which is a hazelnut chocolate sauce . The texture of the crêpes were absolutely perfect and that was the part I was most craving. I also loved the Nutella part. The banana and strawberry not so much as to me that didn't really have much of a taste, but maybe that was because the rest of it was super flavorful and over powered the fruit. All good and definitely satisfied my crêpe craving, but next time I would stop by to enjoy their desserts in person. The Kunafa looks particularly wonderful and has definitely peaked my curiosity.

Having a dessert spot in the neighborhood that is open late night and is serving flavors of our culture is nothing short of a dream come true. Not so great for my weight loss goals, though haha. Thank you, Moose. I came in here, and the place was absolutely buzzing, with groups of people enjoying their late night desserts- a testament to how much we needed this spot to just open and thrive and exist. I don't personally like cream Kenafa so I haven't really tried anything off their menu yet, but the Dubai chocolate crêpe is really calling out my name, and I am just going to bite the bullet and try it one of these days. I did go in to sample their Dubai chocolate. As a chocoholic, I am on a low-key search for the best Dubai chocolate bar in the city. This bar did not disappoint. The filling to chocolate ratio was perfect. However, I do feel that there is an over balance of crispy kanafa in the filling. I think it could use more pistachio cream and be a little on the runnier side. Can't wait to come back and try that crêpe. Until I am able to make that trip back, do stop in and enjoy a sweet treat in this cute little dessert shop. It's also Palestinian owned so you know you are supporting the right people and the right cause while satisfying that sweet tooth craving. What more could a customer ask for?

The ice cream is incredible--rich, flavorful, and tastes homemade. The mango is a standout, and the brownies are honestly next-level--warm, decadent, and just a step away from a perfect lava cake. They've also got amazing cakes (including a fantastic carrot cake) and a great selection of treats that keep you coming back. What really makes this place special, though, is the owner, Peter. He's always welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind. He greets customers with a smile, takes the time to say hello, and creates an atmosphere that feels both personal and inviting. The staff deserves just as much praise--every single one of them is amazing: professional, friendly, funny, and kind. I've known many of them over time, and they consistently go above and beyond. Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate.
