What can you expect from a take-out place that is mostly all about Italian ices and ice cream? My family was ordering sweets, and I wanted savory. Let's just say that my expectations were not high. But this is NYC... They have a small savory menu of some things including crepes. I ordered the Caprese Crepe: basil, mozzarella cheese, olive oil, and tomatoes. My crepe did not spill while eating it from a takeout container, which is a feat in itself. And, the crepe was delicious! So much more delicious than a caprese sandwich. I used to love this business. When it first opened the value and flavors offered were fantastic. Over the years, the value as well as the customer service has declined, and the store, quite frankly, looks disheveled. Every year, when this location opens, the options that aren't available are scribbled over with white window pen and faded writing shares notes on what's missing and toppings available. The prices have gone up every year for the past 3 years, although portions are slightly bigger than before I still don't think $4.75 for a small and $6 for medium is great value, especially for ice. In regards to flavors what's offered does taste good, but my favorite flavor, chocolate mousse, hasn't been available since July 2024. A summer must, especially in this heat. This location has all the unique Uncle Louie G flavors that customers know and love. There is no parking lot nearby so you'll have to find street parking. This is much easier during the evening hours. During the day, parking on the Avenue gets crowded. Great for social distancing - Just walk up to the window and place your order, and take it to go. Uncle Louie is an ice cream stable, this is what I know growing up. I love their ices and ice cream, today I tried the soft serve and it melted as it was being handed to me. Not the biggest fan of the soft serve. Husband loves the vanilla cherry ice cream, and ices are pretty good. They only open during the summer season, and hours are quite unstable, but every time I see they open I have to pick up their ice cream. read more

Soprano spumoni - this ice cream flavor say it all. The thought crossed my mind to boycott it because of the name, but then realized how badly I wanted spumoni, no matter what the hell they called it. It could've been "slap my bitch up spumoni" and I still would've gotten it. There appears to be no cup size difference between a small and a large; and they said size matters pfft! There have been many ice stands in the neighborhood over the years but this one seems to be the only franchise that has stuck around They serve all different types of ice, cream ice and ice cream. They put corny nameslike "holy cannoli" or "nypd blue" which i never use when ordering. The prices have gone way up over the past couple of years (just like everything else, right?). I paid $11 for a quart of peanut butter cookie dough which wasn't filled and just simply not worth it (see pics). Robbery!! I purchase this same ice cream ALL THE TIME from the other Uncle Louis G's in the area (which are surprisingly cheaper for their quarts) which they ALWAYS FILL to the top. The ice cream is delicious but this has to be the absolute worst establishment - possibly super cheap owners I presume... They are open at the strangest hours and customer service is bleak. Tried to return this crap after getting home to realize they ripped us off but they were closed. If you didn't have enough, why not just tell the customer?! Trust me, go to either the Bay Ridge, Sunset Park or the one in Cropsey. They are ALL terrific. I won't ever be going back to this location. read more

This newly opened ice cream franchise in the lovely neighborhood of Dyker Heights has satisfied my sweet tooth and craving for good ice cream. I have been here twice and have really enjoyed my one scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip. The other night I had wanted a little bit of hot fudge and it made my mint chocolate chip evenly more heavenly. They are reasonable, friendly and only a take-out style place. They are open late too and have many different varieties to choose from, it is only hard ice cream and ices but when you're walking in my neighborhood, its a must to stop on by. The other flavors that are tasty are Maple Walnut, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, I did try the Peanut butter Cookie dough, but it was a bit too peanut buttery for me. They also are Kosher certified which is nice touch for all the people who are Kosher only. They have many other locations too so just check out the link and visit the one near you. read more

To start...This ice cream is very good. But it's not worth the money. I would recommend just getting some Ben and Jerry's. when I went a couple months ago, the service was a mess. This location is not closed - although it should be. The young lady who was working the counter today 6/8/2021 approx. 1:30pm was rather rude and extremely unprofessional. 2 small ices for $3 each were ordered. Sugar Free Lemon (that tasted like pure chemical) and Pina Colada. The lemon was horrid and when the young lady was asked to please dispose of it she rudely pointed to the garbage pail and told us to throw it out, it was requested not to be charge for 2 ices since it tasted like pure chemicals and it was thrown in the garbage to which she replied that's like you getting a "free ice". After both of the ices were paid for and a few spoonful's later a long hair was found in the midst of the Pina Colada ice -which caused me to gag and it had to be thrown out. So much for wasting $6.00 on ice. I will never go there again. I hope the manager / owner of this establishment teaches this young lady to be professional and courteous to customers. It could be detrimental to his/her business if she continues to be rude to customers. read more

I am giving this place 2 stars not because of the product, but because of the price and customer service. I got the chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and my friend got the chocolate dream ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. I tasted both and both were tasty. Here comes the not-so-impressed part...firstly, I asked for a large and got a small. Then, the total for these two very small ice creams was over $8. I wasn't thrilled with the fact that I got the wrong size but even more unimpressed by the prices here. For the amount of ice cream, it's really too much. Overall, I can admit that the ice cream is really good, but so is Ben & Jerry's - and a whole pint of that is under $6! read more

A trip to this ice cream shop is perfect on a hot summer night. A small cone with two flavors is plenty of ice cream and so very decadent. I got the cheesecake and dulche de leche combo and was in heaven. There may be other locations in the city, but this is my local Louies and it has got some serious heart! read more
