I stopped by here the other day, this bakery has been on my list of places to try in South Brooklyn for a while now. I remember having their cream filled bread from their location in Manhattan and really liked it and figured I will come by here and check out more of their offerings. The spot is pretty humble on the outside, they have some seating inside, and a huge selection of baked goods. I will say they offer some really unique things like milk bread in different flavors with different fillings of cream like taro, matcha etc, and I really particularly enjoyed their baked pastries in the front with so many varieties to choose from. The cakes did look very expensive though, I wouldn't really go out of my way to get a whole cake here. I got myself a variety of three macrons and a prebaked pastry with feta cheese. I found the prices here to be a little insane, for the amount of stuff you are getting. The rose macaron was delicious. I really tasted the flavors coming through, the chocolate was not my favorite, it was just not chocolatey enough. I will say the macarons have a good bite to them and are made well but flavors can be hit or miss. The feta cheese pastry was crispy and buttery, but it could have used a little bit more filling. I think for $7 it was way overpriced. Service was friendly, the cashier was quick and efficient with the order and courteous but I really do think they need to knock down the prices a little bit. I was always happy to have a TLJ by me. My family and I love their coffee and their bread. The cakes can be a hit or miss. Sometimes, I feel like they're unexpectedly overly sweet, sometimes fine. Sometimes drier than other times. Sometimes, perfect. This specific chain, though -- do NOT come in the morning if you need to rush anywhere because it's so slow...I don't know if being understaffed is to be blamed or just them having newbies take care of everything. read more

Terrible experience both in customer service and in the food. I ordered a custom birthday cake of mango and peaches and not only were there zero peach in the cake the four pieces of mango they out in a 19 inch cake was tasteless and bitter. When I ordered the cake the person who took my order was incredibly rude and when I picked it up the employees were all standing around on their phones, getting their attention felt like asking for a favor. Whole experience was absolutely terrible and I don't think this is a representation of the brand but definitely of this location. Came here last week to buy some bread for breakfast. It's been awhile since I came by just for the breads as I usually call in for birthday cake orders. I really love their loaf of butter cream bread and wish it was a larger loaf. Their buns are abit pricier than Chinese bakery but their quality is great. Korean bakeries are on a different level from Chinese bakeries. I wish they also have the ice popsicle like their Midtown branch in Koreatown. I would come more often and buy the ice pops. read more

A great French/Asian inspired bakery chain! I was happy to see one in this area as well. I dropped by to grab some pastry treats late afternoon - the location was not busy at all. I got some macarons and a loaf of their sweet potato bread. They have a selection of very diverse and unique breads/pastries. Most of their pastries were gone by the time I arrived, so definitely come early so you get the most variety to choose from! I have had the mango cloud cake in the summertime from another location - an extremely tasty cake that I recommend if you want some cake! The only Korean bakery near my apartment and this became my go-to place for my iced coffee kick. Ecstatic this place carries La Colombe sponsored coffee as this brand is my new favorite coffee place. Way above Starbucks, Blue Bottle Coffee and Dunkin anyday. Not the biggest Tous Le Jours compared to the Manhattan branches but it's really small, quaint and quiet for any local Brooklynite. Like the specific popular selections of cakes and always carries the signature cloud cakes. If I need to sit down and enjoy a quick sweets and coffee time fix, I'll come here. Staff is super friendly and gets a lot of foot traffic. Only downside is all the baked goods disappear from here super quick by late afternoon everyday. In the past two years, my family has been celebrating birthdays with cakes from here, and they haven't disappointed! I've tried almost all of their cakes, and my favorite has to be the mango fresh cream cake. Their cakes itself are always so moist and soft, but the mango cream is the best: creamy and smooth mango flavor that feels so light that you can easily eat a lot of cream without realizing it. There were two instances where in between the cake layers, slices of really hard mangoes were used, which really ruined the overall bite of cake. Understandably, mango isn't always in season, but to use unripe/dry mango... -.- The downside of this TLJ is that their pastries are quite limited, possibly due to Covid-19. Every time I come here, it's the same selection of pastries available: the croissants, the full size mocha cream/matcha cream bread loafs, the blueberry cream bread, occasionally the yuzu pie, and some croquettes. For instance, they don't have the lovely fruit tarts/danishes that I love from the Ktown location, and I can't remember if I've ever seen it pre-covid. read more

This mother's day, I ordered the pistachio rose cake, and although it looks beautiful, I was very disappointed by the taste of the cake. The rose on top was hard rather than soft, and the cake itself did not have much taste. A cashier told me they do not take orders for cakes to be picked up the next day. What the hell?? It was 4pm! If ordering a cake a day in advance was not possible, then put up a sign. I get it, it's not the cashier's fault that their boss cannot accommodate orders a day ahead of time, but damn, give people a warning. Also, TLJ need to control the customers for this social distancing! I turned around and there was a customer right behind me, literally right behind me that I collided into. She was practically breathing down my neck. No joke, she was so close it felt as if she was trying to pickpocket me. No social distancing observed, which makes this place unsafe. $45 for this birthday cake that the strawberries on tops grew mold after two days in the refrigerator at home. The cake tasted rancid after only two days in the refrigerator at home. Is this Quality Control on their part? We ordered this a week Before the very special birthday and were obviously given an old cake from the showcase. They refused to write happy birthday with a name for the birthday, and said "we don't do that" The fruit on top was not given a glaze and was old. We wasted our money. We should have known better, because our experience shopping on 86th street in Bensonhurst is that we are consistently sold low quality things with no customer service. We went in to talk to the manager and showed him the picture of our purchase, and he became belligerent and defensive. He raised his voice and proceeded to embarrass us, yelling at the innocent cashier in mandarin and waiving his hand at us dismissively. He was extremely rude- refusing to do anything, and even refuse to replace the cake with a fresh one. We will be filing an official complaint with the Better Businesses Bureau (BBB), and we will contact the business owner directly. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone, Lest you want to be humiliated and taken advantage of by the horrible manager. And we will certainly never return to this deceitful and horrible place unless the matter is resolved. read more

This is my favorite cafe to study for the LSAT. It has good lighting and the wifi is really fast. Unfortunately, due to the whole lockdown, items are take out only. The positive aspect of this whole social distancing is I finally bit the bullet and I signed up to take LSAT in June and July. Originally, I wanted to take it in April; however, it is given online. This time I just ordered the strawberry cake and the simplicity of the sponge was great because everything was lightly sweetened and fluffy. The only thing I'll knock them on is the value of their whole cakes. They're expensive for what you get. A flavored sponge cake and whipped cream. ------- This is really. 2.5 star review, but i dropped it due to the extra $5 i paid for mush. i requested a custom cake order; the blueberry yogurt cale BUT designed like the green tea cake. the aesthetic was better and i was going to use it for pictures. i made sure to ask if it was ok and he spent time checking in with the kitchen. great, everyone said yes. i paid extra for the macarons on top, and the small cake comes out to be approximately $39. I come and pick up the cake and while it's designed like the green tea cake, i notice they cut a joel in the middle of the cake. i am confused. So the green tea cake has a whole in it bc it is a chiffon cake and needs the height. this cake is not a chiffon cake and doesn't need the height. they just made a hole in it for no reason when i had just asked for the frosting and glaze to look like the green tea cake. However, i write it off and a communication problem and just take it home. Now when we eat it, the cake tastes fine but not $39 worth. BUT the worst part is that the extra $5 i spent on the two macarons was completely wasted because they were so incredibly soggy. it was actually gross. Despite the French name, this cute bakery gives me Korean vibes. All the tables were filled with customers like it was a Starbucks. It's definitely a place I would chill at, sip some coffee, and much on pastries while it's raining just for the aesthetics. The cakes here are on the slightly expensive side by a buck or two compared to my local favorite Rimini Pastry Shop. I tried ordering a cake here via phone but I had to pay through phone too. So I came to the store instead to place my order. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about ALL the cakes they had. They have two green tea cake options. One had fruit in it (cloud foam) and the other was just green tea inside (chiffon cake). Both only had size #2 which serves about 6-8 people and were $34 dollars. One slice of cake was about 5 dollars. I don't know about you, but to me that's a pretty expensive slice of cake. Rimini's might not have the same TYPE of options but it's delicious and it's on the more budget friendly side. However, this is not to shame Tous Les Jours in any way. I love what Tous Les Jours has, from the vibe to the INTERESTING options. Overall, I would definitely come here again to order a cake for SOMEONE ELSE. So I don't know why my family decided to get another cake from TLJ After that mango cloud cake I wasn't really looking forward to this strawberry cloud cake... Don't like how the cake base is BRIGHT CORAL pink. Sorry but I just get really turned off by artificial coloring. My mom was saying maybe they colored naturally. As far as I know, beet juice and freeze dried strawberries don't color things CORAL. Again don't like the naked sides style. The colored cake means the browner outside is this yellowy-pink color. Besides the typical brown color on yellowy-white cakes, I'm not liking this off color. That's why it'd look better to frost the sides and or cut the edges of each layer. The cream is nice and smooth but can be fluffier and richer. I think they added too much vanilla extract. I was getting aftertastes from the creams. A Korean bakery in the heart of Bensonhurst. I love their options because I am so sick and tired of the Chinese bakeries around here. It is the same thing over and over again. Since covid-19, Tours les jours doesn't have the wide selections as they used to. Baked goods in the glass cases are no longer and everything is wrapped for obvious sanitiary reasons. Got the chocolate croissant w/ hazelnut filling ($2.75) and the good ol' red bean bun ($2.00). It was both good. Can't go wrong with red bean... the croissant wasn't so sweet (thank god) and the hazelnut filling was not too much where it oozed out when you took each bite. I advise warming it up a few secs! Anyway, I hate things laden with sugar so this was a good treat for me. I saw the korean cakes on display and I was tempted. The smallest 6" strawberry fresh cream cake is $30. I seriously can eat that in 1 sitting so I decided not to get it. The cake prices are a bit steep for me but I'm living on the cheap during these hard times so I may not be the best person to ask about this. They are open from 8a-7pm "covid hrs". Loveee the cakes from tous les jours, especially the strawberry cloud cake!! It's so good and they have it available in yellow cake or pink cake! I got the pink cake because might as well have it all pink haha along with the white frosting. The green tea latte is here greattt. Soothes my soul and unfreezes my cold hands.
