We've been going to MF for breakfast for many years after the Freedom Festival Parade. After waiting in line 30 minutes, with 3 adults & 3 hungry children, we were told they were out of bacon and it would be 30 minutes more to get our food. At 40 minutes we asked the cashier how much longer it would be. They said they filled that ticket. Our food was delivered to the wrong party. We were then told they were out of milk and eggs and they could not fill our order. wow really poor management understocked understaffed unimpressed new tradition in 2022! read more

Surprisingly disappointing Tonight went in after a long absence of visiting this restaurant. I've been coming to Magelby's for more than 40 years (mostly their other locations). Ordered the fish and chips, two halibut dinners and kids chicken tenders. The bill cane to over $60. It surprised me. I paid with a credit card and then asked for a detailed receipt but was told "we don't provide those kind". Really? Isn't that the law? Heaven help you if you need to expense a meal and can't provide a detail receipt of what you actually ordered. I asked how much the halibut was and they didn't know as it is listed as "market price". I added up my other items and concluded I was charged about $20 for each halibut dinner. After some insistence they finally looked it up and it was listed as $17.50. They couldn't explain the discrepancy as to why I was charged so much and without a detailed receipt, I was out of luck. To add to the bad experience, there was no ice available and the famous magelby's rolls were about the size of 50 cent pieces and hard and chewy. See the pic below. Definitely the smallest and worst I've had. I can't blame the people working here as they seemed nice enough but had no idea what was going on. The owners bear responsibility for a lack of training in so many aspects. Is this place even still owned by the original people? If so, Doc would feel ashamed and his picture is on the wall here. Magleby's Fresh - Micro small bread sticks. - American Near Me - Lindon, Utah

This was such a disappointment! Had the halibut, which is usually (at other Maglebys locations) excellent. The fish itself was good, but the taste of the breading and the presentation were nothing like I have had previously. Watery mashed potatoes, one tiny breadstick instead of the usual two, and completely inedible vegetables: ice-cold cooked broccoli, raw carrots, and the rest of the mixed veggies were barely room-temperature. Worst, the veggies were laced with dozens of bitter bits of burned matter - not even sure what they were! We waited a long time for the order to come out, and then they had to correct getting the wrong sides. Not sure if their cook(s) don't know what they're doing, but this was the worst restaurant meal I've ever had! I will never go back to the Lindon location. read more

Apparently this is a well-known Utah restaurant but I've never eaten here before today. So glad that I did. I asked the guy at the desk to recommend something since I've never have eaten there before and he recommended their stuffed breadsticks. The food was amazing. The bread was really really good. Good food overall. And we just ate here as a family and all the workers were moving fast and getting food out quickly. The cooks turn out a lot of food fast. Had the halibut and it was good. Came here after a morning of golf. Always a great brunch spot. We came a little early so we weren't able to get a stuffed breadstick which is the best thing here, but the French Toast with the magical syrup is fantastic. I'd drink the syrup plain. read more

Bad service. When I ordered breakfast they brought us out cold bacon with tons of congealed fat. We asked the worker for new bacon that was warm. He put his hand out, and motioned for us to put the bacon in his bare hand, and walked into the back with it. Then he probably stuck the bacon under a heat lamp for a few seconds, and then put it into a basket and brought it back out. HE BROUGHT BACK THE SAME BACON THAT HE TOUCHED. Ew. It still had tons of layered fat on the back. Never returning. I don't trust them. read more

So it has become somewhat of a tradition to hit Magleby's for breakfast whenever we come into town. So we dropped in this morning and I don't know if they've changed management or what but they don't use white bread for the french toast any longer -some kind of wheat bread. And the breakfast burrito that I loved so much last time I had it is totally different - very plain. The bacon was over cooked (dry and crumbly). Then the utensils. To top things off, they gave us these little kid flimsy plastic utensils that almost seemed like a prank. Anyway, I've always said that you could put Magleby's syrup on cardboard and it would taste good, today I put that theory to the test, which is why I gave today's meal two stars instead of one. read more

Always such a great experience here. Tonight our large family stopped by for dinner after seeing A Christmas Carol at the Hale Center Theater. The staff was so kind, and very quick at serving us wonderful food. We had a great dinner. We will come many more times. Bread..Yummy bread! So when I walked in to this establishment you can clearly see the kitchen which is a mix of a grill and bakery. Not really sure if you would call this place a deli. Tried the pasta with Alfredo and chicken. The Alfredo could use a little more seasoning and the pasta was not well drained which made for a soupy plate. I also had their stuffed bread stick. OMG...this was tasty! Stuffed with sliced ham and mozzarella, topped with your choice of Alfredo or Marinara sauce. It also came with a side which I had the tomato pesto soup. The soup was rather lack luster and didn't really do anything for me. But yeah...the bread was on point! read more

What to say? They open at 7 in the morning, but at 11:30 they still had yesterday's specials on the board, a fact which was pointed out to my husband when he tried to order one of them. The food was really so-so. The chicken salad was sweet and apparently made with Miracle Whip, which is gross. The salmon came smothered in tartar sauce. (Who puts tartar sauce on salmon?) The egg white omelet was wet and drippy. The bacon was coated in maple syrup. (ewww...) The overriding theme of our food seemed to be sweet and saucy, which is not really what we were expecting. The French Toast at Magelby's are pretty good. Thick slices on brioche covered in powdered sugar, strawberries (supposedly bananas but non were to be seen on my plate) a hefty scoop of whipped cream and a side of cream cheese frosting/syrup. From what it sounds like, the quality has slipped at this location. Our french toast actually came out with no whipped cream, and no bananas. We had to ask for the missing whipped cream and no one said anything about the bananas until we walked up to find out, and they said they were out of them. I don't know. It could be better, and it could have been worse, but it was all just ok. read more

I love the food here. I haven't tried everything that is, but what I've had I absolutely love. The best piece of chocolate cake and that Buttermilk Pie is quite the unexpected treat. The price is great too. If this was only about the food I would give the restaurant a 5, but I don't love the whole cafeteria style thing and I feel like I'm always finding silverware when it's still a little damp (fresh out of the dishwasher or something). read more

We eat lunch here regularly. I really like the selection and have a few favorites. Two things they are known for is the breadsticks and the chocolate cake- they are delicious! Usually busy but not overcrowded for lunch. Minus a star because every time we get back to work after eating there we smell like fried food. Maybe need better hoods? I saw the reviews of others and I was surprised to see the negative comments. I've gone to the Magleby restaurants in Springville, Salt Lake City and Medford. I thought how bad could it be. So I checked it out this morning at 8 am. There were no customers in there. I sat down with two other colleagues of mine and we waited. No one greeted us or gave us a menu. After 15 minutes, a customer came in and ordered at the counter. A-huh, we realized you order your food at the counter. We proceeded forward and ordered. We sat down and waited for the food to come. I ordered 3 servings of white omelette. The food arrived. I took one bite of the egg and it was so oily I couldn't eat anymore. Low quality of food served. I wouldn't come back. read more

Sitting in the lovely Lindon location where I just finished the best chicken tortilla soup I've ever had. The staff are super friendly and easygoing. The turkey sandwich I had was made perfectly (no soggy bread) with plenty of avocado, bacon, crispy lettuce and great couple of slices of tomato. There's WiFi, strawberry & lemon infused water and of course their famous chocolate cake! (I didn't have the cake) all in all I think this Magleby's is a great place to meet up for lunch or even relax with a good book (or in my case textbook) for a solo meal of good ole American comfort. read more

Not sure what happened to one of my favorite places. Food seemed like it's not real fresh tonight. It used to be real fresh and always came out hot and delicious. Stuffed breadstick tasted like it was made early in the day and was just under a heat lamp. Mandarin in my salad (only tried one) tasted like it was soaked in sprite. I think that means fermented. Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the bottomless French toast and wow... There are no words. A french toast done right. Crisp bread, juicy syrup, stuffed with all the essentials (blueberries, strawberries, cream, and bacon). There's about a million options available between the menu board amd the wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. The food is good, but waiting for your meal for almost an hour is a joke. Also, forgetting to bring part of your order out is annoying. We were so frustrated with the long wait, we just boxed it up and ran out the door. If you go try to find a "not busy" time of day. If there is more than 3 cars in the parking lot, find something else or plan on a long wait. Even for the deserts. read more

Food is mediocre at best. Service is inconsistent. We have been a few times over the years. EVERY time there is a problem. This morning, I took my daughter as she loves the french toast. I ordered fruit. Just fruit. They brought everything else but they forgot the fruit. I asked the waiter for it. As my wife and daughter were finishing their breakfast, I finally got up, cancelled it and got a refund. There was another family in complaining about how they finally were giving up on getting their breakfast and were going to leave. The previous time, I ordered a sandwich that comes with melted cheese on it. They left off the cheese. When I mentioned it to the server, she left and came back a few minutes later with two pieces of cheese on a plate. The whole table laughed about how odd the whole thing was.
