I bought 20 feet of wire at a price of $ 133 . I need another that did not have and told me to go to a electric store down the road, i went there and got the part i needed, then asked them what they see the wire for it came to $ 42. I went to take back the wire to Lowe's in Heath they would not refund me the money because they said that have a policy they can't take back cut wire. The funny thing is they had an area where they were selling cut wire, so at some time someone got a refund. I said I was done with them and would be going to Home Depot, they don't care, and I do spend quite a bit of money in the last few years. read more

This Lowe's location is OK. It's a big box hardware store, so they have just about everything you may need. It's hard to find staff if you have a question and it's in an older part of town. I don't always feel the safest in their parking lot and you often see panhandlers. Probably my best visit there was when I went with my dad and we didn't have to ask for help, he just zoomed up and down the aisles and threw whatever I needed in the cart. And the folks at the paint counter were very nice. They are pet friendly, so I do like to take my dog there on occasion for a sniff, but I really do prefer the Hilliard or Polaris locations - this one is just closest. read more

Truly the most frustrated I've ever been with a company. We went in to talk about the process of getting some carpet because we were renovating half our basement. Was told to get any type of price estimate we needed to have a measurement done and then they would send us a breakdown. We schedule the measurement and they come out 3 weeks later. A week goes by and we haven't heard anything. Suddenly I start getting calls and emails twice a day asking if we are ready to order. I call back and say we never got an estimate. Guy says he'll send it again. A week goes by, no estimate, and the calls/emails start again. I respond, again asking for the estimate. This time he sends it. It's 100 sqft bigger than the contractors who are doing the rest of the reno. I ask about this and am told they measured correctly and that the reno guys were probably undershooting it to give me a cheaper estimate. Now my spouse is out of town and I tell the guy I want to wait until she's back (I tell him the day she gets back) before I complete the order. Calls keep coming. Finally we go into the store to order. They try to add a $90 "furniture moving fee" and I explain there is no furniture because its being renovated. They eventually get a manager and have the charge removed. I'm told 1-2 days before a call to schedule installation. I wait 4 days, no call. I call again, they say somebody in the store needs to send it to the installation team, and the rep promises to make sure they get that done in 1-2 days. I wait 3 days, no update, so I call again. Am told the same thing. I wait 3 days again, am told they made a mistake and have to order "an additional 720 sqft of carpet" which is bigger than the original measurement. Rep can't explain why they have to order additional carpet that is bigger than the already big measurement. I wait 30 minutes for a supervisor who says they are only order 60 sqfeet more because the pattern won't match otherwise. I explain that the drywall was recently installed so the sqft has only gone down, they say they can't do anything about it but make a big deal out of how they aren't going to charge us for the extra 60 sqft. I ask for a estimate for how long it will take to order this and get to installation and they can't tell me. I've never left a bad yelp review before but had to create an account just to make sure this doesn't happen again. read more

I really enjoy shopping at Lowe's and because of that, it's usually my go-to whenever I need something handy. I've been making more trips than usual lately and Yelp recently pointed out that this location of Lowe's is the closest to me. Instead of driving all the way to Easton, I've been stopping by here... although I'm not sure I'll continue to do so. This location is placed in an odd spot, right off of 71. It's a little difficult to reach but once you're there parking is easy. The first thing I noticed is it's appears to be a little smaller than the other and the staff here isn't anywhere close to as friendly as the other locations I've been to in Columbus. I am accustomed to someone greeting me, plenty of educated staff around to assist if need be, etc. That is not the case here, at least based on by past couple of experiences. It was almost like the staff was avoiding me, instead of going out of their way to help out. Whenever I did track someone down to ask a question, they didn't have the answer. I appreciate this location due to how close by it is, but they could definitely improve their customer experience. Hire more staff, train them better, whatever you need to do. On the up side, it was clean and organized and checking out was a breeze. read more

Well, someone called but she is in Raleigh, NC. I am in Columbus, OH. I am beyond frustrated, getting the runaround, cannot seem to get a refund. Even the woman sounded frustrated because she said, I can't come to Ohio to measure and we're in Raleigh, NC. I explained, I had no idea I would get a call from someone in NC. Ordered a refrigerator and stove . I paid for delivery and install. I had to buy a water line and gas line that I did not need so they would hook it up. After they brought them in the house, said they don't do install. They made a phone call and then got in there truck and left. They scratched the handle trying to get in the door before they removed them and had to see it when they put it back on. Came in this afternoon to grab a few for home improvement projects for my new house I'm moving into next month. Unfortunately, I wasn't not greeted when i came into the store, but they were really busy. After all, it is Saturday. We all have the same idea in mind, right. I could not really find any help so I was left to my own devices. I hardly come here and when I do I wanna hurry out. It's too much, because I wanna try all the projects I see on HVTV, and let's face it, I can't afford to do that. LOL! I did happen to find a young lady to ask a question about an item. She pointed towards where it could be, but I basically had to guess for the rest. I wish that she could have maybe guided be to the aisle a little more. I eventually found it and was on my way. My rating is based completely off of customer service, the lowes itself is fine in my opinion, never had an issue with inventory or anything like that. If you need something delivered, go LITERALLY anywhere else. I bought an oven and needed it delivered and old one taken away. Lowes delivery extended my drop off time the night before this delivery was supposed to happen from noon-3 to 10-3, fine. The driver called and left a message saying he would be at my house in 45 minutes, I was going to make it in time! I called back to confirm I'd be there ten minutes later. By that time the drop off before me had canceled and they would be at my house in 5. I missed the drop off by 10 minutes...again fine, I wasn't available that's on me. My issue is that trying to reschedule, or get anyone on the phone to help reschedule has been a nightmare. It's been 5 days after the missed drop, I've left 2 messages and no one will call back. Not only that, I think it's odd that no one from lowes reached out to initiate the reschedule. I will absolutely recommend this store to anyone who needs something that they can manage on their own but otherwise I'd look elsewhere. read more

At Lowe's Thurs night. I counted 8 clerks (4 n one group) talking to each other, no customer n sight. Saw 4 others walking around, 1 working w a customer & a clerk on her phone at check out. I made eye contact with each, none offered to help or stopped sHooting the s***!with one another. After 15 min wait, the 1 clerk working with customer finished with them helped me. An online way to find a part would b faster & Lowes could lower prices by firing folks just taking up space... After reading all other posts, it's clear staff r AWOL while collecting their pay. I don't like doing review updates. You'll notice I have almost 500 reviews and less than 20 updates. Sometimes I'll see people who only have 100 reviews and like 15 of them are for the same place. They just keep updating after every visit. This is either highly narcissistic, to think that people really care about each visit you take to this place, or just a poor understanding of what a reader wants. That said, there are times when something happens that changes your opinion of a place enough that you need to say something more. At Lowes on Silver Drive, this experience occurred on Black Friday this past week for me. I went in with a pretty clear understanding of what I wanted. I wanted to check on vacuums, as mine broke recently, get some paint, and buy the materials for some shelves I'm putting up in my kitchen (they will act in place of wall cabinetry, as it will save me hundreds of dollars and give the kitchen a quasi-commercial feel that I am shooting for in my design. Normally, or at least in my past experiences (which are many, note the check-in count), it can be very difficult to track down an employee here, and even more difficult to find one who doesn't just usher you into the direction of some aisle without much in the way of real help or guidance. This was so not the case on Friday. First of all, a man who has to be the most well-versed paint expert I've ever encountered guided me through my paint selection process. I've bought paint here before. Never have I had so much insight and assistance given to what base was the right one for me. I explained that the room in question had already been primed, although this was a while back so it was marked up a bit. I explained that I needed something that I could wipe down, so as to minimize the damage of my dog's ever-present slobber. I gave the most basic guesstimate of the dimensions of the room. With this information, he was able to guide me to a base that includes a primer in it to make sure the marks didn't show through, a semi-gloss so I could wipe down slobber, and an estimate of how many gallons I should need for the room. Best paint buying experience I've ever had. And I learned something. Then a lady, who is crazy knowledgeable about windows and doors (she's helped me there before), saves me $10 by explaining that there is essentially no difference between these two different kinds of wood, given the job (the shelves). After that, another employee helps me pick out the right size mounting hardware for my shelves, given the dimensions of the wood. And if that wasn't enough, I found a crazy deal on a new vacuum for just $39. A great day of home improvement shopping, even if I dropped a few hundred clams. read more

My review is on my recent trip to look at the plant section. I was impressed with the customer social distancing and mask wearing. Additionally, on the radio there were reminders. I did notice that the line to check out was very long as there was only one check out in the garden area. When the staff switched and the new person showed up without a mask (it was around their neck) many people, including myself went inside to check out. Selection and prices were great. Overall good experience. Please wear a mask if you are able. read more

This place is hit or miss, even on the same day with the same people. First of all, you never know if you'll be able to find anyone if you need help, and if you do, they will answer your question while walking away from you, clearly with more important things to do. Maybe it's Lowe's, or maybe it's this location. But they just didn't have what I need. That's often true of Lowe's- they have more decorative stuff, less heavy duty hardware. There's a fair amount of that too, of course, but when I get into complicated projects I usually end up having to go to Home Depot. This location seems to have less useful stuff than usual. It is the closest big box hardware store to me, so I stop by if I'm on the way to work, but I usually leave disappointed. Plus, customer service seems almost non-existent. Lowe's is doing nothing to enforce that either their employees are wearing their masks correctly or the customers are wearing masks AT ALL. They had the privilege of being completely open during the lockdown and their business model has been able to withstand the brunt of the pandemic much better than any other industry. On September 17th, 2022, I purchased and picked the following Microwave at a local Lowes: "Whirlpool 1.9-cu ft 1000-Watt Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking (White)". It was ordered online. Had the intention to install it in my kitchen which has a basic over the hood exhaust fan. Let the unit sitting in my garage for a few days, since -- like most people -- I often don't have time or willingness or inclination to install such a thing right away. Then found out that the electrical wire for the microwave was not present (house is relatively new, so I assumed it had the proper wire since it had an extra breaker in the panel labeled kitchen with no active circuit connected to it). Then, after about 2 weeks, I found out that the proper wiring was not there. Never opened the Microwave, and it was sealed in its original packaging/box. It would never have occurred to me that there would be problem in returning it, but in any case (wanted to make sure in order not to waste my time and trip) I called Lowes explaining the situation and was told that I could go to the store and return the appliance. Once I arrive there was told that the never opened Microwave bought about two weeks ago could not be returned and that the return window is of 48 hours. 48 hours? Really, in 2022? Heck I could have bought a similar microwave at amazon and have returned it in over 2 months afterwards with no questions asked even after having opened and used it and whatnot (not that I do such thing, but it is known to be done); and amazon would even gladly have paid the return shipping cost. For that type of situation to take place with a large retailer in 2022 is almost surreal and really bizarre. It is particularly more bizarre whence one takes into account the fact that it is not a plug and play device that you simply unbox, plug and test it right away (at least for basic functionality). I have bought things at amazon almost a month ago that I haven't even unboxed yet due to time constrains and willingness to do so. Glad Amazon has great customer service that will accommodate your situation even after the time return window has expired (which by the way is very robust to begin with). I particularly don't like to buy things at amazon due to the political leanings of its leadership and the massive concentration of economic power in a single company; but unfortunately, often, one does not have many choices considering how bizarre the alternatives may be. Guess, the only thing one should buy at Lowes -- if anything -- is lumber and plywood while Lowes is still around. read more

Lowes is a good company but unfortunately this location is poorly run. The location is outstanding, in the middle of Columbus right off 71, but that may be its saving grace as the only big box home improvement store in central Ohio. They have a good selection of products, lumber, appliances, and a seasonal garden center. They have a large parking lot and they seem to do a good job of keeping it cart free. The bad, getting help. Management has no idea what to do about staffing or hiring knowledgable employees. Why have employee call buttons if no one answers them. You should not have to wander around for ten minutes to find an employee on the floor and then wait another ten minutes for them to find someone from the right department to assist you. If management is going to hire anyone that can pass a drug test that walks in the door, you need to train them for the department that they work in, stop putting the plumbers in the electrical section, and put the ones who know nothing on the registers instead of in the tool department where they are unable to answer the most basic questions. Make sure you lock your doors and secure your valuable is the parking lot. Despite having employees in the lot, they don't keep an eye out for trouble and the security officers stay inside unless they have to step out to make a phone call. read more

I shop at this Lowes at least twice a week, lately for paint. "Don" in the paint department is the reason for this review. It's bad enough that his shirts are too short and I've seen his butt crack on more than one occasion, but he's also not friendly, and not particularly helpful. This evening he topped it off and made me the wrong paint (he did give 10% off to make up for it) however the new can has the paint dye on the rim.. Probably the worst experience a person could have when buying an appliance. Purchased a refrigerator on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving because mine died. Understandable that they couldn't get it delivered by then. No problem. So they scheduled delivery for Friday. Fine. Friday comes and they show up with the refrigerator at the incorrect address. When this is made apparent they absolutely refused to accept responsibility and refused to deliver it to me. "That's not how it works" was their reasoning and said it would have to be rescheduled for the next day. Saturday. It is now Saturday as i write this review and now they claim "their trucks are full" and now it will be Monday. Now all my refrigerated foods have gone bad. DO NOT order fence installation from #loweshomeimprovement. I paid for the fence in full on July 13 & was told the installers would contact me within a few days. It took me calling Lowe's 3 times to get the installer to call me to tell me it would be at least 2 weeks longer. I got a call on installation day that they wouldn't be there until the next day. The next day they installed posts & left. That was 2 days ago. Today the installer parked the truck in front of my house for 30 minutes then left. I have had zero calls from Lowe's or the installer with any type of update. This has been a nightmare. I will never buy so much as a hammer from Lowe's ever again. Good for cutting wood I'm not much for big warehouse stores like lowes and Home depot. I would rather go to a small hardware store since I don't have a house and do not require much of what is in Lowe's. however my hobby of car audio causes me to buy a lot of wood that I have to transport to and fro in my little honda civic. full sheets of wood come in 97"x48" boards: no way that is fitting in my car whole. So i have to get it cut. This Lowe's always cuts the wood properly as I request it. They are usually pretty quick about it too. I usually have a very good experience when buying plants. I will continue to buy plants here but I absolutely will never buy anything else at this establishment. I go in to get a new kitchen faucet and they're all mixed up. I go to the register and it's not the right price so I go back and someone finally helps me find the correct one. I get to the register and I'm purchasing plants and they're all ringing up incorrect prices. Of course in Lowe's favor they're ringing up higher than what they're marked. Then I go to get help and the lady has a nasty attitude. She doesn't Scan my faucet so that it doesn't set off the alarm when I leave the store. When it sets off the alarm she walks over snatches my item and fixes it so that I can go through the door without setting out the alarm. This was the worst experience I ever had at the store with Customer Service and things being all mixed up on the shelves as well as ringing up incorrectly. I will never come back to this location. I will stick with going to the Easton one where I always have good customer service and things are in the right order. I'm giving this Lowe's a three star rating because it seems average. I wasn't disappointed and I wasn't wowed. If you like Lowe's other stores, you'll be satisfied here. Personally, I find the layout a bit confusing, and I always have trouble finding what I need. Lowe's stores are just really big, and I find myself walking back and forth a lot in them. However, since all Lowe's are like that, this one must be average. The employees have always been helpful when I've asked questions. I usually leave with what I need. They do wood cutting in the lumber section. I've used it once, and it was time-saving and very helpful. In the springtime, they have a good selection of seeds and gardening supplies. They didn't carry plain seed starters until May, which was a bummer. I recently went looking for a string of blue Christmas lights, and they only had the pricey, big LED ones. I recently purchased my Christmas tree here, because I believe in doing things at the last minute, and it actually paid off. I paid like $8 for my tree as a result. We stopped into Lowe's yesterday to buy a washer and dryer set during the Labor Day sale. We had to press the service button 2x to get someone to show up in the department. They arrived after 10-15 minutes and were very upfront about not being from that department. Definitely poor staffing during what is a well-known sale weekend. We ordered our appliances to be delivered the next day and confirmed that they were in stock. The CSR told us that they couldn't give us a delivery window, but they would call 1/2 hour before delivery. We hadn't heard from anyone by noon, so we called Lowe's to request an ETA. The phone rep told us it was on the truck for delivery. (We live within a few miles of the store.) By 3pm, we still hadn't heard from them, so we called again. They told us that the CSR had actually sold us the floor model (for the same price as a new set) and not marked it for delivery. We wasted our entire holiday waiting for something that wasn't coming due to bad customer service. We've cancelled the order and will be ordering online from Home Depot. Total crappy service on 2 out of 3 counts. Don't count on the in-store or phone teams to be helpful, knowledgeable, or staffed appropriately. read more
