I kept hearing how good it was, and that's not hype- service was excellent, on two visits from multiple people. Selection is pretty darn good for a small local hardware store. It's not tiny, but it's not huge. Lots of options for each thing we needed. Bright and open, nicely arranged, tons of things you need- and don't, plenty of impulse buy stuff set around, so watch yourself. Prices for those, and in general, are maybe a little high, but the location will be handy for many people and you can avoid the hassle and gas use of going to a big box. I have found those products to be very low quality, often breaking after only a season or two of normal use. Neither the shop nor ACE offer any warranty, referring the buyer instead to the manufacturer's warranty. On occasions when I've made a warranty claim, the manufacturers have simply ignored those claims.

This is a true (translate that as "old school") hardware store. This is a store where the staff "knows hardware" and is very knowledgeable. They are very helpful and know where everything is - unlike the big box stores. I would highly recommend this store to anyone with hardware needs.

The store was busy. All the workers were busy. But they all made sure to greet every customer & follow up with offers of help. The building's above 100 years old. It reminded me, while I was waiting, of the small town hardware shops my grandpa & I would hit when we needed supplies between roofing jobs. That was a great memory for me. Those background places in the past gather importance when folks are gone. Small shops navigate the big box waves through specialized products & good customer service. The folks here are doing great work!

In fact, there is an Ace less than a mile from my home that I don't patronize for this very reason. I gladly drive 4 miles to a REAL HARDWARE store. This was my first visit fo Schreiner's Ace Hardware and it is a REAL HARDWARE store. Reminds me of a good old-fashioned hardware store. Winter is coming. But nowhere else seems to have it yet. Anyway, they have a ton. Come down here if you need it (winter 2024.) Every employee was helpful and friendly. They have the usual small hardware store selection of other things. I looked at a couple of things I might need eventually. Prices are a little higher than they will be at big box stores, but they actually had what I needed and helped me get it. This is off my beaten path, but handy today, and I will keep it in mind next time I have a project.

Just recently had an encountered with the "owner" of the store. At least he stated he was the…read moreowner. He was extremely rude and verbally abusive to his cashier at the time of my visit. Next time I come in there I'm going to make you famous on TikTok Mr. "owner". I've been reading a lot lately that the owner of the store is extremely rude and I can say and vouch that those reviews are true! The owner is not helpful He's condescending and unapproachable. If this is truly a family-owned business then that means that the owner is a Zettler, right? I'm curious do all the other Zettler hardware stores treat their customers and employees as rude as this "owner" did? Best to steer clear!!

Exactly what I needed, and at the big boxes you might get slightly lower prices but you're taking your chances with advice (not that there aren't some of these old guys there, too.) Access is wonky from most directions; be careful. All the staff were friendly. Selection is pretty good.
