They got me set up with a pretty nice bow and got the entire thing for me to get shooting that same day.

Eddie Bauer - Another customer's shirts (and packing slip) mailed to me

Eddie Bauer is a retail-store chain that has hundreds of locations across the country and sells…read moremerchandise such as clothing, footwear, accessories, home linens, and outdoor gear. It has a couple of fulfillment and customer service centers in the Columbus area, including this one. For years I have been a customer of Eddie Bauer. For previous purchases, I experienced no problems. With my most recent purchase, however, the business mailed me another customer's five shirts and packing slip (with the other person's order number, name, mailing address, email address, and partial credit card number). The package had a label with my name and address on it, so Eddie Bauer and not USPS made the mistake. Eddie Bauer mailed me zero of the shirts that I had ordered. I spent about 30 minutes chatting with a customer-service bot and then an employee to try to obtain a prepaid return label for the other customer's shirts and a full refund for my shirts. I would have preferred that the chat be much shorter. The employee said that I should receive both the return label and full refund in 72 hours. I did receive the refund but not the return label. Weeks later the other customer emailed me that they had received my shirts and packing slip, and we will now spend our personal money to ship each other's shirts. Geesh!

Alas, the return policy is no more, having degraded from "lifetime" to "one year", with caveats. I'm sure this change reflects customer abuse of the previous system, so I don't really blame the company; however, it does make them less compelling. My real issue is with an order I just placed. I ordered a pair of fleece-lined winter pants, which arrived today. I pulled them out of the bag, pulled them on and immediately noticed a smell - a combination of strong perfume and, well, someone. It seems that I got a used pair of pants. Likely, someone just tried them on and they were reshelved, somewhere, or, perhaps they are a previous return via mail. Who knows? What I do know is that when I pay these kind of prices for clothing, I expect to be the first to wear them - failing that, someone could at least give them a sniff before reshelving them for resale. If I wasn't allergic to whatever the hell the previous wearer bathed in, and was not currently developing a rash along one quad, I may not be so miffed. But, here we are. Customer service was friendly, but difficult to understand, once we went off the normal script. I am left sending them back, and hoping the replacement is more sterile. One more incident like this and I'll be looking for a new company top purchase from.

I would avoid this merchant at all cost. I purchased two products and one was sent broken. I…read morecontacted their main number numerous times and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that she was on break. "Out to lunch." "Left for the day." "Call back tomorrow." I left my phone number for a return call several times. The manager is Leigha Lautzenhiser. I was denied her name by the people who answer the phone. They just wouldn't tell me. It wasn't until after I received a return shipping label that I did a search for her name and found out her position with the company. It took over a week to get a return shipping label for the damaged product. Once I got it, there was not one single area of communication from the manager. No phone call. No email. All that showed up was a return shipping label. I sent in the device and after the tracking number showed receipt, I called to see what the status was. I called their Ohio retail number at 602 615 2709. There was no answer during normal business hours, so I left a message. I waited for a phone call. Two days passed and no return call. I was forced to file a paypal dispute and after that, I got a return phone call from Leigha, the manager from the number 602 615 6237. I explained that the item was damaged. I expressed my concern over not being communicated with. She did apologize but acted as if she knew nothing about the phone calls and emails. She obviously did because the return shipping label was sent from her. I understand this is military surplus. I know it's used. But the device I received was obviously permanently damaged. This whole ordeal could have been prevented if she would of just taken my phone call. Instead, you call a number and get Liquidity services and they give you the run around. After I discussed this with the manager, she couldn't tell me when I'd get my refund but estimated 6-10 business days. Said I'd get full price plus tax returned. The next problem I've had is that the business charged me tax. I don't live in Ohio. I purchased the product from another state over the internet and they don't have a Nexus or retail presence in my state. So why sales tax? According to Ohio state law, they are not required to charge the tax. So, either they are changing tax to out of state customers and padding their profit margin or they are collecting tax for the use of sales tax. My question is, where does the money go? My state? Or theirs? I have filed two complaints both with Ohio and my state to answer this question. When I called and asked them to refund the tax on both the items I purchased, they refused to do so. So, ok. If you are charging tax, you have to be accountable sending it to my state which is where the intended use of the product will be. I doubt they are doing this. Buyer beware. You may get your merchandise, but if you have any problems, it's a nightmare. If I don't get the refund, I'll update my review.

I went in today to do a return of items I bought at a different location. I walked around…read moresearching for shoes in every section. They had extra tables of shoes in the main aisle down the middle of the store as well. I'm assuming because school will be starting soon. They seemed to have plenty of sizes available. Even the clearance racks were full. I couldn't find any shoes but wanted to use my reward coupon so I bought a couple packs of socks that were on clearance and still BOGO 1/2 off. If my kids didn't have so many socks already I would have bought more since they were so cheap. So if you need socks for back to school or in general and you're in the area you should stop in. They sell lunch bags this year too and had some really cool ones which are included in the BOGO 1/2 off sale. If you're really looking for a good deal they have some backpacks, last season/year models, on sale ONLINE and still included in the BOGO. Enough sale talk.... I'm giving the store five stars because of the good deals, because the store was packed with shoes and was still clean and organized, and because of the service. Both ladies working today when I was there were friendly and helpful without being pushy. My return and purchase was super easy. I'd definitely return to this location.
