The location is convenient, near the discount area of Easton. The store has been getting more and more crowded with displays and that's annoying. Not as bad as Burlington though. The prices match the nearby Marshall's and TJ Maxx, obviously. But you can find some deals. I always check out the pet area for treats and toys. You can also find Darn Tough socks sometimes. Horrible service. Associates chatting in the middle of the isles near the restrooms would not move. Not one (2 men and a woman) asked if I needed anything. I had to go to different isles to get around them. At check out 2 cashiers of 3 walked away, one did not come back, and left their lights on while there was a line of 5 customers. I've been a customer since Sierra Trading Post was catalog based and my mom was making purchases for me! When I was in the outdoor industry and needed new gear, STP was one of the first websites I'd check for gear. Even when my wife was an employee at a competing outdoor retailer (where I got a discount) I was still shopping online at STP. When I found out they were building a brick and mortar store here in Columbus I was beyond thrilled! As it is part of the TJX companies it still means that the store is a gamble when it comes to brands and sizes found. However, it makes a great starting point as you can easily search their site to see if there are other sizes, colors, etc available. Don't have a tiny pocket computer (aka a smart phone)? There's no need to fret! In store they even have a kiosk where you can search their online stock. My only real dislike of the physical store is that as of right now they do not accept the countless coupons that come to my email address. This may change soon as an employee recently told me that they would start honoring them. Until then, I will still order the bulk of my purchases from the website so I can use the frequent STP coupons. With the store so close it's super easy to return to the store with no hassle. This is extremely helpful when ordering shoes online as some outdoor brands use variations of European sizing that allow for greater fit specification. Recently I ordered two pairs of a boot to see if they would work for my job. Having a low volume super narrow foot they did not but, with the painless returns it was no problem. Mix bag of outdoors items. First time to Sierra, so I didn't know what to expect. I will admit, the store reminds me more of an outlet, per se, but not totally. New clothing was up front, several racks of clearance toward the back. Anywho, I did find a pair of Keen hiking boots for my trip to Costa Rica coming up in two weeks. I've never owned a pair of hiking boots (I prefer urban jungles, thus a sturdy pair of awesome walking shoes are my go-to), so I like that Sierra's prices are more inline with what I was looking for, as opposed to REI. read more

I will NEVER EVER spend another dime in this store or any others affiliated with it. I spent $300 two days ago and went today to return 3 Items that totaled $57....a pair of shorts, pair of pants and a dress, due to sizing. I had my receipt, they took the shorts and dress and scanned them no issues...then the cashier couldn't find the pants, so he called another associate for the pants, she couldn't find them either, so they called the manager....and he could not find them on the receipt. He asked if I had another receipt and I said "no, I purchased them all at the same time." I suggested maybe they rung up another item twice? He scoffed. I was on my lunch break so I said "it's ok, just give me the pants and receipt and I'll deal with it later, I'm on lunch". The manager then refused to give me the pants back and stated LOUDLY in front of the cashiers, a vendor, and the other customers, "YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THE PANTS, SO YOU CANT HAVE THEM." Insinuating that I STOLE the $16 pair of pants and then tried to return them after spending $300! Everyone within earshot was staring at me like I was DJT and just grabbed someone by the lady parts!! I was so humiliated I just got my return receipt and left in tears. When I got back to the office I was STILL so upset that my co-worker called and made a corporate complaint. I used to get their catalog, and often got things from it- decent selection of reasonably priced items. I was surprised to see this when we were shopping nearby, so we had to stop in. Baby K liked the stuffed doggies in canoes, etc. It's in part of the old Dick's space, not really recognizable once you get inside since it's been redone. Not as large, of course, since it shares the space with two other stores, but if you need outdoor gear this is still a decent place to come. Clothes, tents, shoes, etc. Friendly service. We didn't get anything this trip, but I'll be back when I need something. It's odd that we have several outdoor stores so close by. This will be the first stop for me, since they have a decent selection and tend to be cheaper than the others. read more

I have shopped online with this company for years and always thought the provided high quality goods at affordable prices. In addition they always provided fast shipping with consistent status updates. That is until they merged with TJ MAX. My current order is 6 days old and still does not reflect that it has been received by UPS. WHEN I reached out to the customer service group they said because I live on the East Coast that would be a common occurrence. I live in Central Ohio. While I like the products offered I am beginning to think we are better off with Cabela's, Bass Pro or even Sportsman's Guide. At least they don't make up silly excuses. read more

I've been an outdoor enthusiast for most of my life- resulting in me geeking out about the best handy gear out there. Let me tell you- it gets expensive! I've been shopping online with STP for over 10 years now, so I was stoked to hear we got our very own store in the bus. What I like most about this place is the wild selection of items- from camping to backpacking to kids and dogs. I also really appreciated the customer service. The employees were approachable and friendly, but not in your business. One even noticed I was carrying my weight in items, and he got me a basket. The items were pretty well organized, but I had moments of feeling like I was "rummaging" through everything. That being said- the deals are worth the effort. I would highly recommend. read more
