Quality tends to be good, I've never had an IKEA item that wasn't good quality and last. Prices - they're bargain section is really good, they put a lot of items on clearance and for good prices, not just like kinddd of a deal, they really slash it so it goes quick. SO if you like deals, go during the week and often. Layout and product selection is very IKEA, very consistent. Hate that there's not an easier way to get directly to the section you want to get to, but ... there are cut-throughs to skip a section if you can notice them. This was my first visit to IKEA. I was excited because I've heard so many things about them! Allow me to describe my experience; The escalators were out of order (no biggie) so we took the elevator. Upon entering the second floor, it was a bit overwhelming. As we started walking, we got to see the different themes of each area- which was neat for inspiration, no doubt. But the furniture? I thinks it's meant for hobbits. My goodness if I sat on most of them, I'd never be able to get up! Soo low. The couches?They look very cheap and under comfortable for the most part- although the pricing was not . It's definitely geared more towards first apartment/college vibes. There were some end tables that looked decent. The thing that got me was when I was ready to go- I couldn't. The labyrinth just kept going!! My goodness I thought I was going to get rewarded with a slice of cheese once we got out! I know a lot of people love it but it was not for me. Wayfair around the corner was much better. read more

How have I not reviewed IKEA before! This just simply can't be right. I love IKEA! I will add that the only downsides I see are that prices went up around COVID and haven't really come down much and the annoying shift to mostly self checkout. Plus, they discontinued the small IKEA Family member discount, which was a bummer. Customer Service is always good and employees are friendly. I do want to add the quality of furniture is not bad! I feel like it gets a bad rap. It's manufactured furniture but I feel it is decent quality and a wonderfully affordable option for all ages. My partner and I have purchased and assembled countless IKEA pieces. We have our couch (Sleeper sectional, 3 seat w/storage), kitchen table, recliner, desk, shoe cabinet, dresser, and floor lamps, to name a few of the larger purchaes. But we also love all the little items like storage crates, holiday décor, kitchenware, utensils, cups, mugs, clothes hangers, and rugs. IKEA just has it all and you can even grab lunch at the resturant! My favorite part is I love exploring the store and imaging the possibilities and seeing what I can find. I came here to find an inexpensive small table that would be sturdy enough to place a small refrigerator upon it... and that is exactly what I found. However, I had no idea where it might be located. See this item was right at the entrance by the escalator. So I went up the escalator and roamed about. Soon I found this amazing sales associate. She ran back and got the information to where to grab one in the warehouse. There just happened to be a dolly so getting it from the aisle to the checkout was easy. Our hotel was across the street from IKEA and I was excited to end our evening there. On a Monday night, crowds were not an issue on the showroom or marketplace. Even though you can jump into the marketplace area I prefer to walk the showroom and take pictures of items that catch my eye. I hadn't been to an IKEA in awhile (nothing in Louisville). During this visit I was underwhelmed. Items felt too similar to what I'd seen a few years ago and I didn't feel any urgency to buy while I was in town. I also struggled to find artwork I enjoyed in the showroom and left without those as well. I miss my physical print catalog and being able to shop ideas in advance of IKEA visits. This is a true story. I have been here several times. And i still have a hard time finding my way out! Always it takes a while to find what I am looking for. The arrows are meant to be helpful but not so much. The signage isn't either, even though they have a lot. DO NOT follow exit signs believing it will lead to exit. Usually it's the Emergency exit. This last time it took me about 10 minutes to find stairway leading down & out. And no i am not directionally challenged. Yes, There are some good buys here, especially if you are on a budget. Ordered food today at the kiosk after you check out in the marketplace. The gentleman working was very nice and had to do everything by himself. The issue was the katsup pump. Went to put katsup on my hotdog and a swarm of flies came out of the pump nozzle. How gross, they were all over the trashcan inside as well as I threw everything away. As a military family, we move often. Ikea has always been our go-to when trying to make a house home. Their furniture and organizing abilities can be affordable. It can also be very expensive. It's hit or miss. This trip started with dropping off my daughter to the children's area. She normally loves it and I love that she's playing and having fun. The staff is very friendly. The lady working the restaurant cash register had the most beautiful singing voice. I honestly thought I was listening to the radio. She was super energetic. The only thing is she didn't give us our free drinks for Ikea family, even after scanning our card. The food is always good. I gave four because I really wish they offered to-go cups. Maybe that's an American thing, but I love shopping with my drinks. If you want to go drinks, you have to go downstairs to order. The food is yummy, but smaller portions. Like walking through a dream home We have taking multiple trips to ikea usually with a goal in kind of what we want to purchase. On the way back from a trip we decided to stop in to get lunch and shop around. The upstairs still had all the great showrooms that let you dream about designing your own house. I'm am assuming because of Covid and supply issues they had a lot of items out of stock or unavailable. And not as large of selection in certain areas. Also prices have increased since first coming here. The prices used to be super low and now they are mostly average. They do have a lot of versatile items. We decided to eat lunch too since we started to get hungry. We had to wait over a half hour in line just to order food. The have the option to open up both sides of the line but only one was and the line was longer when I left it so I would imagine that some people waiting even longer. Simply epic. Perhaps I'm too used to the crowds and conditions of the Southern California outposts but we had a great experience spending 2 hours at the Columbus location. At least on a Wednesday afternoon, the store was clean, bright, and not overly crowded. They were servicing the escalators but using the elevator wasn't a big deal. They were also working on setting up some new displays -- cool to see the behind the scenes. My sister pointed out it was humanizing to see the employees encountering challenges with some furniture assembly too haha. From there, it was everything you come to know and love about IKEA: stylish products for basically anything you need in your home at reasonable prices. Yes, you'll encounter some universal challenges at any location such as difficulty locating items or discovering what you wanted was out of stock. While this can be frustrating, I've learned to take the good with the bad. I mean, where else will you find this type of scale, variety, and pricing? Lastly: the famous cafeteria and food options. We were still stuffed from brunch but did a lap through the cafe. Gorgeous views, great spacing, and selection. Going to the store is fine but don't do online ordering because their customer service sucks because they keep you on hold for hours and when you request a call back they don't! Delivery isn't reliable and said no one was home but we were and never called to let us know they were there, even though I followed their route online! Not to mention they charged $69 for delivery!! When I finally spoke to a customer representative he was unable to confirm another delivery date so I canceled the order. Today I visited the IKEA Store specifically to go to the Swedish Market & Bistro. For one product only. Now I know lots of people come to IKEA in order to buy DIY assemble it yourself furniture - and how much fun is that, by the way? Do you keep those little allen wrenches like I do? Yup, who doesn't have a drawer full of those freebie tools that we'll probably never use again LOL! Unless of course we toss them out, and then sure enough the very next day... needed it. But anyway, the Swedish Market - this is the little miniature grocery store looking place near the cash registers. And the star product IMHO?!?!? STICKY BUNS. By the pan. With icing drizzled on top. No kidding. These are probably some of the best sticky buns I've ever had. And super cheap for a whole pan of em. It is a real guilty, sorry not so guilty, pleasure. Unfortunately for me, there is presently some sort of a supply chain problem recently and they were totally out. This forced me to resort to some sort of backup individually packaged cinnamon sticky bun product they were selling at the adjacent Bistro. But seriously if you're ever at IKEA, you have to try these sticky buns if they have them. Just please be sure to leave at least one pan for me, because... yum!!! I'll do a real review on what I think of the rest of IKEA and their products some other time. IKEA was quite disappointing today. I tried to place an order online everyday last week for pickup but kept receiving a message the click and pick was full for this location due to high demand. I planned out my visit beforehand and knew the location of every item I needed for my bedroom remodel. Unfortunately, everything was out of stock. I've never seen the shelves in Ikea so bare. The error message I should've received was OUT OF STOCK. That would've saved me an unnecessary adventure. On a positive note, the room galleries were beautiful. This years colors are very calming. Hand sanitizer is located in pumps throughout the store. While the restaurant is temporarily closed, you can still get your fill of meatballs and select food items at the cafe after checkout. When you arrive, be prepared to wait in line to enter. It moves quickly but does add about 15 minutes to your trip. I believe this line was due to both back to school and bored at home purchases. From when you arrive to when you leave the campus, the expectation is that you wear a mask and limit lingering in the show rooms and limit touching all the show room items. Once you're in, you'll take the regular route through the store. You'll take photos of large item tags that you like and you'll grab small items for your cart. After you make it through the store and into the warehouse - be prepared to not find those large items. Stock is extremely low. Also, item tags may not have the correct warehouse location so be sure to use one of the computers to make sure you looked in the right place. After you have all your small and larger items, you can head to check out. Before you get there, take a look at the "as is" area to the far right corner for savings on opened/discontinued items. You'll bag your own items so heads up on that. The shelving by the registers has great snack offerings so take a look. Once you're done checking out, you can package/wrap your items better by that station near the door. You can also choose to get a snack at the small Café that is open. The full restaurant is unfortunately closed currently. When you're ready to leave, lug your items to a pick up parking spot. Have one person wait there with the items and have another person go bring the car around. Load up and have a great trip back home with your new items! read more

I purchased a dresser when we got home found and unpacked discovered it was defective had a hole in Two of the drawers I called customer service to ask for replacement parts they told me they are no longer making the dresser so destroy or donate the dresser they will refund my money awesome, Ikea emailed me the forms and I did.. Two months later no check recieved although they noted it was 'being mailed'. Now Columbus ikea decided would like the dresser back months later. The bathrooms are a huge sell for me; that's a quality I think alot of people/businesses underestimate. If a business doesn't have an adequately family friendly bathroom -- we have a problem. Ikea's bathroom is ABOVE par & honestly, alot of local "pretentious" or "upscale" restaurants could afford to learn a thing or two from Ikea's family restroom design/resources as far as providing families with a little elevation in the restroom. Anyway, on to the goods: -- this location usually has pretty friendly folks on staff. I've never come into the store and had a negative experience with ANY of the workers. They're helpful, check in on you and generally knowledgeable. Quite often my toddler will come in with my husband and I and leave with a sucker in hand from one of the staff. Gives the kid positive associations with Ikea trips, and helps us be less stressed shoppers. Win-win. -- Sometimes this location sells out of items and there's a long wait for restocking but this is more so due to global supply chain distribution issues than the individual store. -- location is consistently the cleanest retail environment I've ever seen. I'm not saying I'd want to eat off their floor, but if my kid dropped something on it and then happened to mouth the dropped object, I don't think I'd be as frantic as say, if my kiddo dropped and then mouthed something that touched my local Kroger or Target floor. So why 4 stars out of 5? The lack of shade in the parking lot, and the lack of a central to the city location. The ocassional lack of seasoning or otherwise intentional blandness of the Ikea cafeteria food that we all now view as normal there, after over 20 years of Ikea's presence in the U.S. That's it and that's all. This store is absolutely amazing. The brand has very much figured out marketing and uses that to bring people into the store and buy not just one thing, but multiple items. They have 2 stories, the upper level has the showroom in which they have multiple rooms of stuff put together to show people different ideas of how you can style your rooms in your home. The bottom floor is where you can pick up anything you saw in the showroom that you wanted. There is a cafe to eat at on the upper level and a quick food mart after checkout on the lower level. They do offer delivery, but beware, fees can be a bit much. They also suggest you purchase reusable bags (or bring reusable bags) as they don't supply them for your items. The store is busy, but it's so large that it doesn't feel crowded. I recommend going here if your in the area. read more

Who doesn't LOVE Ikea! Ikea has a little bit of everything, something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a sofa, bath mat or a table there isn't anywhere I would go when I am looking for a road trip. Today, we needed kitchen storage, an island cart to be exact for my cousins new apartment. Needless to say, we walked out with two...it's almost like two for the price of one and then it is still cheaper thank most big box stores. With the summer on its way out and fall gatherings upon us I HAD to update my glassware for dinner parties and basics. Of course I couldn't leave without new pillow forms and the endless pillow cases to choose from. After a few hours of shopping, make sure you stop at the cafeteria before hitting the checkout. I love pushing my food cart, you can't pass up a meatball plate w mashed potatoes and veggies 4.99. Make sure you save room for the chocolate fudge cake, my ultimate favorite thing at Ikea. We came here for some home goods and furnishings. We love seeing the new design ideas and new products. We kept seeing staff cleaning the bathrooms and cafe, which helps keeping everyone safe. We gotten lunch while we were there. The Swedish meatballs are my favorite to get & the strawberry shortcake was delicious! My kid loved the mac & cheese but wasn't a fan of the sweet pulled pork. After grabbing some more goodies at the marketplace, we went to get our furniture up all but one was out of stock. We were also surprised to see on certain aisles they had staff there for you to sign a waiver for safety and advising on possible falling products. Safety first I guess. After we checked out, we grab some cinnamon buns on our way out for the drive. We had to wait for them to finish baking but They smelled amazin! Definitely worth the wait! read more

Yet another great IKEA location! Huge parking lot and huge warehouse--make sure you have comfy shoes on because it's lots of walking. All furniture and household items are presented well, though the maze is always a bit of a chore for me. I like their restaurant which has so much seating and what a great view outdoors with all of the glass. It was very clean. The food selection was minimal at 7:35pm but you can ask for items that aren't out as they keep them in the back in the later hours near closing. Apparently all food that is out and not sold has to be thrown in the garbage. I ordered the chocolate cake and it was delicious, especially with my free IKEA Family cappuccino! The woman cashing me out was super friendly. On the way out the hot dog and ice cream place is another good place to get a snack, though the staff aren't as friendly. read more

Just went in here for a stroll to see if I could find a couple things I've been needing but had no luck. I love walking through all the showrooms and seeing everything they have but I was not a big fan of any of the furniture. A lot of the stuff is truly not good quality... I have had the Alex tall and short drawers for YEARS now and I absolutely love them. The quality you are getting for some of this furniture and what they charge for stuff is outrageous!! They have great little gadgets for the kitchen, organization, stuff along those lines for a fair price I would say. My boyfriend & I were looking at the Hovet mirror, that is very popular and we were definitely intrigued but $180 for the mirror... I couldn't bring myself to do it. I have never tried the food there before so I can't make comments on that, but I hear people talk about the meatballs a lot and how good they are. I love Ikea. I can spend hours in that store. Ikea is a great place to get ideas on décor, any type of furniture's or kitchen stuff. Everything they sell is super affordable. On my last visit to Ikea, we purchased a canvas for one of our wall. We needed a pretty big painting, about 7 feet, and we looked at so many places. But everywhere we looked, it was pretty expensive. However, we found few canvas in the size that we were looking for in Ikea and again it was super affordable. Most of my baking pans are from Ikea. I have used them multiple times and they are still in very good condition. We also checked out pillow covers for decorative pillows and Ikea has a huge selection of covers to pick from. The staffs has always been very friendly and helpful. If you can help it, I would recommend you avoid going there in the weekend. It tends to get very packed. read more
