Visiting shortly after opening during the week proved to be great - there were no lines or crowds. The staff was all masked, friendly, and efficient. When they needed to borrow our cart to load it up, they wiped it down with cleaning wipes before returning it to us. (I hadn't had that experience yet - apparently it's part of their new dedication to preventing furniture tipover -certain pieces require talking to the staff in order to get). I had used the website to look up exactly what we wanted before we came (if you click on the in stock link you can get the article number and its aisle/bin location in the warehouse), which made everything run even more smoothly. I love IKEA's furniture and storage options. I also love their kitchenware. I have bought a lasagna/casserole dish before, which is great. I always bake in it and make tiramisu and other layered treats in it. I also bought a three tier serving dish, which I use a lot for serving mini desserts. Both items are great quality and were a great price. Today, was the first time trying their restaurant. I had the salmon and cod balls with mashed potatoes, they were good but I wish they had the chicken meatball option since I cannot have the Swedish ones as they have pork. My husband had the braised chicken, which was surprisingly very moist and tasty. We both shared the daim cake, which was very different and we both enjoyed it. It tasted like a chocolate bar cake. I love that you get free coffee if you have the family member card! Not only coffee, you can make a cappuccino or latte if you want. Yes, it's only sold for a $1 anyway, but why pay when you can become a member for free and get coupon perks every now and then as well. I love IKEA in general - have been to three others - but ours in Columbus is the biggest, brightest and best by far. The kids play area/drop off daycare, Smalland, is freaking fantastic!! You can drop your kids off for an hour and they will have so much fun they won't want you to pick them up. They have multiple levels of security/precautions in place and I love that they give parents a pager so if your kid has an issue or just wants you, they can page you as well as call your cell. I just love IKEA and Smalland so much! We have been twice now, once in a week day and once on a Saturday during "peak" time. Both days the crowds were manageable although clearly on weekends the line is longer to check out. My daughter keeps asking to go back. It's basically replaced my Target habit. This is part of the IKEA experience, and one I recommend trying, probably before you start shopping. You're going to need sustenance for the trek ahead. It's cafeteria-style, prices are pretty low, qnd there's a small but interesting selection. Start with juice, etc., in a cooler. We got apple juice for Baby K, and elderberry juice for me, because I'd never had it (and I'd had lingonberry.) It was, as the clerk said, summery. Sweet, bright flavor, not too strong. There are machines past checkout with pop, more lingonberry drinks, fruit flavored water, etc. Next, dessert. Hm. Interesting layout, but of course I had to try some. I got a raspberry marzipan cake, because I love both those things. It was okay, just not my thing. Sort of like a creme puff with a layer of raspberry jam, and a bit of marzipan. Next up are salads and wraps, looking pretty fresh. Having had brats and burgers earlier I wanted to eat healthy, but not that healthy. So, hot foods. The meatballs are decent, but honestly, I've had better Swedish meatballs. This time I tried the veggie ones, and they were pretty good. Clearly not meat, but nice texture and flavor. I added a veggie medallion (I think shredded potato and other veggies.) Nicely made, again good flavor, but nothing special. Finally brown rice and quinoa. Dry and flavorless, pass. Sweetie got chicken tenders and fries. I had a bite of the tenders and they were pretty darn good. Baby K got pasta (kids are $2.50 most days, free on Tuesdays.) She loved it. Good penne, chunky sauce, parm on top. There are also other hot dishes like salmon, sandwiches, etc., and a small salad bar. Service was friendly. The place is open and airy. Comfy chairs. Or pretend to traverse and take a nap on one of their couches. Joking aside, IKEA provides an opportunity for parents and children to enjoy some time away from home. Kids don't want to travel through IKEA and parents want to look at things without worrying their kids are going to get kidnapped, break something, or get on their nerves. I also like their food and the selection of things I didn't need. Seriously, I bought contraptions for my desk, napkins, and half a dozen chocolate bars. I would have purchased 344 more chocolate bars but we didn't come in my car. Ikea provides affordable furnishings for your home and the people who work at Ikea are usually pretty friendly and helpful. There are always exceptions but I have had mostly good experiences. My granddaughter left her IPad in the back of a wheelchair I used and didn't remember until we got in the car. We went back in and couldn't find it. My daughter went to security. Those young men went above and beyond looking for it. After 45 minutes it was found. It can be a little overwhelming at first - at least it was for me - but once you understand how the store is laid out and how to follow the signage, it all starts making sense. I had to ask an associate how to interpret the signs, and she was more than happy to oblige. You just have to follow the arrows on the floor. There are so many unique furniture options in this store with so many cool ideas. All of the prices are very reasonable as well. Even the prices in the cafeteria-style restaurant are very reasonable. On my first visit here I just spent my time getting acquainted with all Ikea has to offer. On my second visit I picked up a nice little night stand for under $100! It's nice having an alternative place to shop for affordable, quality furniture in the Columbus area. With the variety and affordability of Ikea's products on such visually pleasing displays, I'll definitely be coming back when it comes time to purchase more of my household needs. read more

So my first time Going to IKEA I was excited! The parking lot is huge! But the whole layout is trash!!! Up stairs are models of everything they sale and you can/will get lost. There's one way in and one way out! I got lost and had to walk back to the elevator the short cuts don't work! Then you go downstairs and the warehouse where EVERYTHING IS SEPARATE!!! Idk that if you purchase a shelf then you have to buy brackets and screws separately! Wtf! Then you have to find them in different sections also! Then I had to go into a different section downstairs behind the cashier to get the actual product! I swear I felt like I walked a marathon in ikea! I spent 3 hrs trying to find the things I need. I even downloaded the app and that didn't even help I scanned the code for a shelf, chair and table and still couldn't find what I needed! Oh my IKEA!! Living in the Columbus area, I have been dying to have an IKEA nearby (the nearest previously was the West Chester location). When searching for any area of furniture in the house at an affordable price, my family always turns to IKEA for answers. Their range of furniture, appliances, decor, etc. is VAST. You're able to find prices at far under your expectations, as well as find high end furniture to satisfy any type of desire. Even without the intent of buying furniture, IKEA is a great place to hang out. The store is systematically set up; everything moves in order. You can simply take a stroll through the store and view their showrooms and selections. The main sections (living room, bedroom, etc) are found in sections 1-9 (the sections after are smaller, not geared toward a specific room in the house). You're able to see all kinds of decorating schemes, room ideas, and types of furniture. After traveling through all sections in the store, you end up in the warehouse where you can grab an IKEA cart (very practical for carrying furniture) and select the furniture you viewed before, that way you don't have to cart furniture you found in section 2 all the way through 20 something other sections. If traveling through the store isn't your thing, you can also order furniture online and pick it up near the check-out. The service at pick-up is GREAT- I was able to get my furniture and get out and avoid Saturday madness. One random addition to just top everything off would be the restaurant!! After finishing section 9, there is a restaurant and dining area for you to sit down, cool off, and grab a bite to eat. IKEA is famous for their Swedish meatballs- an absolute must have. Prices aren't outrageous, but not as cheap as fast food. It operates like a lunch room, so it's more of a fast food style with real restaurant food. Parking was exceptional, plenty of parking for regular, handicapped and electric cars. The store was clean, though the revolving front door was out of service. We ate in the cafeteria, I mean who can pass up Swedish Meatballs? It was clean, the tables, and the clearing station were both pristine. The store was well laid out, clear of trash, and plenty of associates available for questions and answers. We spent hours just looking at things. The clearance area was clean. And then we venture off to the display rooms and get lost every time. Lastly we go downstairs to do our shopping and potentially get lost again. Yes there are arrows but there's also short cuts which are a bit confusing too but it's fun lol. It's definitely a work out. The staff is often walking around looking busy so I tend to ask for assistance and they are always friendly. I cannot be the only person who goes to IKEA to eat. If I am - I am ... and I am. I will literally plan my trip around whether I want the vegetarian meatballs or a veggie dog. Yes - they are both that good. No - I'm not even a vegetarian! (I love vegetables though and do keep a vegetarian diet for many of my meals) The vegetarian meatballs are served with an amazing protein / grain dish and steamed vegetables. It is a very satisfying meal and usually under $6. If you are an IKEA Family member (it's free to join) you get a free coffee - including using their fancy coffee machine so you can make that a cappucino or a latte and add a glass of water. I must admit though, my real fandom is given to the $.75 veggie dog served at the checkout area where they sell frozen yogurt, regular hot dogs, drinks, slices of pizza, and cinnamon rolls (individually hot or in 6-pack trays for $4). The veggie dog is served with pickled cabbage on a wheat(ish) bun and is very flavorful and downright good. My early days of enjoying IKEA I indulged poorly in one of those cinnamon rolls (often also buying the 6-pack to take home) but my dietary preferences have improved and I look forward to eating cleaner for under $1 at my local IKEA. read more

I'm super happy that Columbus has an IKEA! The store is huge and it's really fun to walk around and get ideas on how to better your living space. The upstairs has a lunch area that's really great and the prices are really affordable. I'm giving them 2 stars as I'm not really happy with the lack of staff in the lunch area. The last 3 weeks in a row I have been here for lunch and have experienced 30 min wait times just to get through the line. Then the dining room is a mess! Full of dirty tables, dirty high chairs and no employees in sight to ask for assistance. Then I find that the espresso machine, both of them, are out of milk so the machine will not work at this point. Again there is nobody around to help. It's really frustrating and they really need to do get more staff in there. read more

My first time visiting IKEA. Best time to visit is Monday to Thursday when people are at work so you can take time looking at displays. I am impressed with the displays. Most display total square feet per room to give idea of size and some have total cost of outfit which should be on all displays therefore people can get ideas and goals to aspire towards. The first display said under $700. If I had my house now I would be investing every six months or less a budget between $300-1000 to refurnish my home and to pay off bills quickly. Displaying prices of each unit and cost per room would benefit people a-lot. Customer service offer pricing help and print outs for you to plan ahead. I did on a few items for my apartment to save space and organize. Displayed on some units include pricing options if you decide to take home that day and "do it yourself," delivery prices if you can't fit into car and delivery plus install pricing. Definitely worth checking out. Food court not bad. Slow on Monday 1:30pm and clean. I wanted to experience Swedish food but it was more American or maybe the food is Swedish but so common in USA that is mistaken for Swedish. Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Affordable and well done. Fish doesn't wow me anywhere and this meal cost around $14.00, taste the same as a $25 or $35 dish of a fancy restaurant or what I make at home so I am satisfied and happy to stay under budget. The dinning area uses many of the same chairs and tables you can buy. This experience allows you to know how well they are made and if they are comfortable but seating is assigned so you cannot sit anywhere to experience all the chairs and tables. I will be visit a few more times to get ideas I can see visually and physically to help me plan for my next purchase. I've recently grown to really like ikea. Swedish owned, so be warned everything you purchase will probably take quite a bit if assembly. I particularly like how most things are setup in displays so you get a better understanding of what they are like out of the box. I've also gotten veggie meatballs and shrimp in the frozen section. They were both delicious. I've purchased the gluten free almond cake several times and it is always a hit. The store forces you to walk through a gauntlet of decorated spaces before finally belching you out to the warehouse area where you can finally leave. True story: until I came here, the only IKEAs I had been in were in Europe. Layout wise, this felt mostly similar to the one I frequented while living in Germany. Look, an IKEA is an IKEA. If a labyrinth of affordably priced Swedish goods isn't your thing, than of course, don't come, and maybe seek therapy right away. We've all owned something by IKEA at some point, and I particularly have a thing for loving their selection of affordable lighting fixtures and shades. Seriously, they carry awesome statement pieces that can really change a room. 5-stars to the wonderful staff. Especially because I stopped a couple different people to ask questions, and everyone was friendly and genuinely helpful. Also, Roberto was really helpful when I got trapped in the kids section and had a panic attack and wanted out (seriously, I thought I took the shortcut to avoid it). I love Ikea and am very happy they came to town. While initially I was unhappy with the location they chose, since it is one of the busiest shopping areas in Columbus, I do enjoy the fact that I can make a quick trip over at lunch. They are a 5 minute drive from my workplace. That being said, I have been a total of 4 times, and 2 of those times had the most unfriendly, grumpy cashiers. Neither female employee spoke to me (no greeting at all) until they had to give instruction during payment. I don't understand how they can keep their jobs (maybe no one complains?) and of course, how they got the jobs to begin with. How did they pass the interview? Their lack of people skills weren't apparent? Is it that hard to find good people? After the first experience, I sent a quick email about my experience but didn't receive a response. I will have to make a point of seeking out a manager next time. It is unacceptable. read more

IKEA is best described as an experience. They have just about everything you could ever need for your home! It's fun to just walk through each section and see all the options. My favorite section is the lighting. It's not somewhere you can really just run in and grab what you need as you do have to kinda walk through the entire maze. You can cut through some of the sections but if you don't have the entire store layout memorized, this could backfire. For the most part, pretty good prices and the quality is as expected for the low prices. Which is perfect for younger buyers who aren't ready to invest in expensive furniture. Things are fairly plain and simple- most are solid colors. I've recently found some great deals here on picture frames! I'm still not entirely sure what the point of the IKEA Family card is, other than to get food discounts. It doesn't seem to act like a normal rewards card, but I still use it anyways. (It's free). It's certainly a crazy place on the weekends so I will only visit during the week! Overall, I'm excited we finally got one here in cbus. read more

Nothing really out of the ordinary with this ikea compared to the rest I've visited in different states. It seems very clean every where we went. The cafeteria had a big selection of desserts! I've never ate here before, so my friend convinced me to try out the Swedish meatballs. The vegetables were not impressive, but the Swedish meatballs were quite satisfying with the mashed potatoes. The workers were very friendly in the cafeteria and helped us with any questions we had. The reason why I didn't give them a 5 star is because the workers on the floor were not helpful what so ever. No one ever came up to ask us if we needed anything. I saw 3 employees chatting it up in a corner and I was staring at the woman there, hoping she would get the idea that I needed help. She just glared back at me and gave me a snobbish look and told her co-workers which then looked back at me and then continued their conversation. I was very annoyed at the fact that I had to look for another employee (in a different department) that seemed free and friendly just to answer my question. Overall, there's great deals and awesome ideas for everyone thinking about renovating their homes on a budget. I made the over two hour trek for Ikea. I absolutely love this place. The prices are great. The employees are knowledgeable. I purchased a new queen size bed frame. I chose the sleigh type bed. See pic from the store. It was easy to put together. No problem whatsoever. I purchased the upgraded bed slats. A much better choice. The upgrade was $30 more. But well worth since you get double the amount of slats. Total amount spent on this trip was almost $600. I bought more than the bed and slats. Lol. I will be back. Well worth the drive. read more

Everything carries from my West Chester review. Parking and easy access to/from the freeway is fantastic! Extra bonus: this store is closer to home, so it saves gas and time! We ate lunch in IKEA's restaurant. Got there @ 12:15 and the line was SUPER LONG. lucky us, not more than 7-8 minutes waiting, and they opened up another line. Score! Shaved a lot of time and got right thru the lines. Went with the Swedish Meatballs plate. Meatballs, plenty of the sauce, a scope of mashed potatoes and fresh steamed green beans for $5.99. Good tastes for a cheap price. The piece of dessert I got was really good. Like, really really good. Forget the name, but it was basically like eating a pack of Kinder bars. Yep, that good. How in the world does anyone think they have lived if they haven't visited an IKEA? I mean seriously people, this store is nothing short of becoming one of the Wonders of the World! IKEA for me is like going into Costco....you leave with way more than you intended to buy. This IKEA gave me a total high. First off, what a great location they picked. Polaris Parkway is THE place to go shopping in C-bus. And it is no surprise that IKEA picked it for the next location that will slowly change the world. It is right off the highway and there is PLENTY of parking. I actually love the family parking they have here....they do not have this at the Pittsburgh or Cincinnati location. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the new and fun layout they used inside this location. Everything is so easily accessible and the rooms are designed amazingly. The flow of this place is super easy and a total no brainer. They packed quite the punch into this place lemme tell ya! The cafe in this IKEA is HUGE and stunning. Plenty of seating, quick service and in IKEA fashion...CLEAN. You know me, the clean freak when it comes to where I eat. I am so excited this place is not far from home. I generally don't go to home stores for lunch. So please remember this is not about shopping for furniture. This was my wife's day. So she chose to go to IKEA. So we stopped by the cafeteria located inside about halfway through. My wife just loves the Swedish meatballs and jam. Everything was served cafeteria style, and hot. You can pick and choose what you want. I chose a Caesar salad, and a side of chicken. The dressing was Newman's own. The salad was wrapped in plastic, in the cooler. Soggy croutons were on top. Generous portion of parmigiana cheese. Chicken was okay. Nothing special. Not very impressed. Mixed veggies I got were over cooked. They must do things different in Sweden. Every five minutes you heard the COVID-19 announcement on the PA. System. They should have played it to the associates in charge of cleaning. The hand sanitizer stations were all empty, and the place was dirty. We cleaned our own table off with wet napkins. Luckily we carry our hand sanitizer with us. Not what I was expecting. So happy that Columbus finally has an IKEA! We went for lunch 3 days after the grand opening. It was busy, but not ridiculous! My husband has been waiting years for another opportunity to get the Swedish meatball lunch. I order chicken fingers, but I also snuck a few of his meatballs. They were delicious! We were pleased to also note that the coffee was free for IKEA Family members (free to join, so why not?). And it wasn't just coffee, it was a fancy machine that could make lattes, americanos, and several other options. Nice! I'm so glad they hired all the extra staff to keep the parking lot flowing smoothly. They were out there paying attention when someone left, so they could point you right to an open spot. That was so much better than having to drive up and down every row to find something! I'm not sure how long they will keep the extra staff out there, but for opening week, it was definitely a smart move! This store has literally everything you could possibly want in your house, and then some. We bought some bookshelves that we had found online. They were even at a discount because we had the membership card! We also found a pack of batteries - a kind we buy somewhat frequently - that were much cheaper than we've seen anywhere else. My friend and I each enjoyed an "American Plate" breakfast for only $2. Of course other delicious items are available ala carte. It was very good and included scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, and light, tasty Swedish pancakes (crepes) featuring IKEA's traditional Lingonberry jam. Coffee and tea were complimentary with our membership. The employees were all pleasant and efficient. Very pleasant atmosphere with tables available at the huge windows overlooking the grand entrance and sides. The doors and restaurant are open at 9:30 am, shopping begins at 10 am. read more

I haven't heard of two many people who doesn't love Ikea! It's an excellent way to get something as 'simple' as getting trendy house storage to something as grand as a kitchen remodel. As with most things, the price does have a slight catch... you've gotta put it all together.... which can definitely be very time consuming! But I'm all for wearhouse shopping, taking a meatball break, only to continue with housewares shopping! You DO have to be vigilant with finding the well made items. I definitely will be frequenting IKEA... and so excited to no longer needing to drive to Cincinnati! read more
