This store is my 100% cannot miss store for finding what I need for homewares. It is a true mega store. This is both good and bad. I do find that you have to go in with an independent spirit to hunt for stuff and no expectations for customer assistance from store staff. I look at it as an adventure. This is always the first place I look when I need something home decor related. I've only ever shopped the At Home website, even though I'm not too far from the store. During the pandemic, I saw that they had free delivery on outdoor furniture, but didn't make a selection, and decided to revisit that project this year. The website offers local pickup, delivery, and local delivery on various items. I chose the local delivery option at 10 AM on a Wednesday. I didn't realize that they meant SAME DAY DELIVERY! So, by 5 PM, I had my new outdoor furniture stashed in my garage to put together this weekend! The furniture, a table and chairs, was as expected but I really was impressed with the service. I had multiple calls and texts from both the coordinator and the driver to let me know the status of my order. The driver came to my front door and asked where I wanted him to place the furniture, so I had him help carry it up the driveway and into the garage. I had a good experience with the local delivery service and don't think they brag on it enough. You do have to pay for this, but I also would have had to rent a truck if not, so I thought it was an appropriate expense. read more

I purchased a patio umbrella last fall and put it in the garage for the winter to protect it from the weather. On a nice 70-degree day, I placed the patio umbrella on the patio onto the table to secure it, and 3 of the attachments to the umbrella fell apart from the umbrella and can not be repaired. I should have known better, the umbrella structure is all made from cheap plastic. This is not to judge other products in the store, but I would not buy a patio product made from plastic from At Home. read more

This place is GIGANTIC and filled with anything you'd ever need for your home! The prices are very reasonable and they always have a lot of 50% off clearance items. Any style of decor and furniture that you could ever dream of, they have it. The cashiers have been consistently friendly and pleasant every time that I've shopped here. The only negative comment that I have is that you rarely see employees in the store other than the cashiers. The place is so huge that it would be great if they had a couple of employees working on the floor to assist people who are looking for specific items. Once you figure out the basic layout of the store, it isn't too overwhelming. If Yelp would allow voting half stars, this place is a 4.5 in my opinion. Very good. read more

When I visited this time, near Thanksgiving, it was about 1/4 Christmas stuff. Pretty nice, reasonably priced, like the rest of the store. There are many frames and pictures, and tons and tons of lamps (what I came for this time.) Arranged kind of by style and color, with plenty of shades as well. Wander the whole store, decorate your whole house, pick up things you never knew existed. Leave a bit poorer, but end up with a nicer abode. read more

Whoa. This place is crazy! Imagine a TJ Maxx, Big Lots, and a little bit of IKEA, and you might get the idea. It's definitely overwhelming at first, and I think I walked up and down the art aisles three times just trying to make sure I got a look at everything. I also circled the rugs for about half an hour trying to decide what I wanted -- and eventually ended up with an on-clearance 5x7 rug for $25! I also ended up with a 9x9 pan, a book (of course) and a cheese grater. If you need kitchenware, curtains, bathroom decor, pillows, sheets, etc etc, this is a great place to check out. There is also some furniture (chairs, tables, barstools) although not much in the way of beds or bookcases. If you don't have a plan, you'll probably spend way too much time and money here. However, do be aware that, like Christina C. said, the quality can vary. So choose wisely! read more

What a great place to go when you need to kill some time or if you have alot of time to kill! Seriously!! Saturday after I was out of work at noon, I had to find something to do for an hour. Well since I was right there at the Mill Run/Hilliard area, why not stop in at Garden Ridge? I honestly didnt need anything, but I am sure I could find something! I did - a new wind chime and doormat for the front steps. They seem to have a little bit of everything in the store, all depending on the season. This store is incredible. It's huge and has everything you could dream of. Some of it is fabulous, and some of it is fabulously awful. They have so much of the same things that other places have (including Amazon), but at much better prices. The selection here is insane. On my inaugural visit, I was on the hunt for large, tall wicker baskets I could use as laundry hampers. Although this seems like an easy find, it oddly was the biggest pain in the ass. But I found exactly what I wanted here at a great price. For such a big store, it's pretty well laid out. It's bright, clean, and easy to navigate. I don't think you should really be on a mission to get anything from here. I made the mistake of doing that once, and couldn't really find what I needed. However, if you're one of those people who's compulsions involve retail therapy, then you'll definitely get a kick outta this place. It's like an oversized Big Lots, meets Hobby Lobby... meets.... Home -Goods. Interior designers on a budget my think of this place as Godly. The prices are good, the selection caters to different tastes, and they have just about every area of the home covered. It is still unfortunately, the same 'made in China' crap... hence the cheap pricing. Nothing here probably screams long lasting quality. In Autumn/Winter they have a great selection of outdoor decorations, and in summer/Spring they have a whole lotta love for your patio/backyard. Minus one star, because most of the time the associates try to avoid you like the plague and offer minimal help. Bad associate! Get back to Walmart! I cannot believe that I have lived in Columbus for over a year and have just found this place. This place is amazing. When it comes to home goods this place is like a pier one, world market and hobby lobby all together and multiplied by ten. Looking for a red throw pillow? How about an 50 foot long aisle of them to choose from? Storage containers, shelves, frames, furniture, rugs and more knick knack dust collectors than I have ever seen in one place. A giraffe statue? Check. How about an elephant? Yep the whole jungle book is here. Best of all is that the prices are much more reasonable than you will find at other places selling similar merchandise. Garden Ridge is all at once both awesome and terrifying. Once upon a time, many eons ago, this building was "Incredible Universe," an electronics store so vast and impressive that it blew my eleven year-old mind. Now it is an incredible universe of brick-a-brack and kitschy home decor. It's hard to describe the Garden Ridge experience, but if you can imagine that Wal-Mart and Target had a child together, and that child was adopted and raised by Sam's Club, you'd be pretty close. Every time I set foot in this store, my brain has a hard time deciding whether to be depressed by the fluorescent lighting, warehouse environment, and horrific easy listening music, or supercharged by the treasure hunt that awaits. If you go to Garden Ridge, do not make the trip with any specific item in mind, because I guarantee you won't find it. Instead, go with more general ideas of what you want, like decorations, pillows, or kitchenware. I normally go when I want to be able to choose from a wide selection of rugs, lampshades, vases, pillows, and other normal home decorations. If your house is more exciting than mine, you can also pick up suits of armor, poorly made restaurant booths, and decorative bird cages. You might want to set yourself a price limit, as it's easy to go a little bit crazy in here. read more

Garden Ridge is where you go when you want to go shopping for nothing in particular, or you just want to get out of the house. On my most recent trip here I picked up several lunch boxes that are made in New Zealand. There are good kitchen tools here at a great price and lots of products for organizing your household. I wouldn't buy couches here, because they seem like they are made with crappy pleather. If you want good rugs this is the place to be. Come when they are on sale and you will come away with some steals. I don't really care for their wall art as it seems pretty generic, but I'm sure it's up someone's alley. My only complaint is that i paid 2 dollars for a regular sized candy bar! Seriously GR???? That was kinda sucky. read more

I whole heartedly agree with Caroline on a couple of points. This place is pretty much a hodgepodge of this' and thats in a warehouse type setting but it is so fun to get lost in there. For crafts and supplies I much prefer JoAnn's Fabrics but there are some equally great things here. They have super cheap home accessories like pillows, bedding, etc. Some of it actually looks cheap too so be aware...but if you are picky you can score some really great things. I got a table there a few years back and it is still one of my favorite pieces of furniture. It has held up excellently as has my patio furniture that I got for less than $100. ps. Hidden treasure we found when we moved to town. We were looking for stools at various furniture stores with little to no selection and luck. A couple sales people at these stores were nice enough to recommend Garden Ridge and after hearing the same thing a couple times we decided to check it out. Wow, did we find more then just stools, this place is like a Costco of cool stuff for the inside and outside of your house. We've bought stools, Tiki torches, hammocks, paintings and more. We bought a set of bar stools here 2 weeks ago. My first hint to run should have been the complete lack of interest from any of the employees. Seriously, the most apathetic, almost angry retail workers I've ever seen. The second should have been when the identical bar stools all had different price tags. When we used them for the first time, one of them instantly shattered, sending our dinner guest to the hardwood floor. We didn't have the receipt, but the tag was still on the underside of the stool, so I thought surely they would just apologize and give us a new one. Wrong! I got barely a shrug out of the manager, who then asked me to step aside so she could help the next customer. I was flabbergasted. I hate to admit it, but I love this store. It's not terribly clean nor well-organized, but you can pretty much get anything for your home and garden at really good prices. Ok, so the quality of their products is rather hit-or-miss (there's no way I would buy furniture from here) but for things like tea lights/candles, wrapping paper and cards, cute photo frames, basic kitchenware, scatter cushions, vases, rugs, craft/art supplies, plant pots, holiday novelties etc, you can't go wrong with GR. Their picture framing department is, in fact, excellent with a huge selection of frames and mats. Buyer beware. They should change their name to "ALL SALES ARE FINAL." I purchased a 20 foot inflatable snowman yard decoration on 11/21/12 around 5pm. I bought this along with a small bag of some candy at the checklane as an impulse buy, my total spent was $163.10 with $149.99 of that being the snowman. The item was brand new in a retail package that showed no signs of mishandling or damage from shipping and storage. I went about removing it from the packaging and displaying it via the included tie downs and yard stakes on 11/22/12. While getting ready to leave to visit family for Thanksgiving dinner on 11/23 I was informed by a neighbor that the snowman was blowing away. I went outside to find that 2 of the loops used to secure the ropes to the snowman had ripped away from the body of the snowman and it was blowing away. I quickly took it down to prevent any loss or further damage. Being it was a holiday and not seeing any phone number on the receipt, I boxed it back up and put in the garage. On Friday 11/24/12 I took the item, with my original receipt dated just 3 days prior to the store to do an exchange on the item. I left it in my car since the parking lot seemed pretty full and I suspected the store would be fairly busy with black Friday shoppers. Upon walking in I was met by a gentleman named Troy wearing a name badge that said "manager" on it. I was holding my receipt and pointed to the same 20 foot snowman they have inside the store on display, I told him I had just purchased that exact item on Tuesday and wished to exchange it as the one I have is defective. He not once apologized or showed any sign of concern, he simply stood there, stone faced and kept repeating like a robot that he would not honor my receipt or purchase for any sort of an exchange and that I had to contact corporate. He further told me that I should not have attempted to display the item (which is labeled as indoor or outdoor use) on a windy day such as today. I informed him that I had removed it from my property on Thanksgiving day but assumed they wouldn't be open and did not attempt to get an exchange on it due to that fact. He continued his robotic like denial of my exchange attempts and stated that I should have brought it in on Thanksgiving day, but would not have done anything then either due to their return policy. When I pointed out the fact that there is no phone number on the receipt for me to be able to find out their hours of operation which are also not listed on the receipt, he was adamant in his refusal to honor any sort of remedy to the situation. Their return policy is stated on the receipt, which he was all to quick to point out while I was speaking with him and it states several typical points about unopened merchandise and receipt needed for a refund, but the last line, which I believe should be their store name NO EXCHANGES AND NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS. I find it utterly irresponsible and absurd that a company selling brand new boxed items will not honor any sort of an exchange on clearly defective merchandise purchased less than a week prior to failure of said item. I have read the stories online and elsewhere of people getting worked up over having something several months and not having a receipt being denied any type of refund and think that is somewhat reasonable, but an item being less than a week old and failing, AND me having my receipt is a bit different. I've taken the steps as suggested by Troy, to contact corporate, who also does not seem to be want to be bothered and does not have any sort of phone number to contact them, simply a "contact us" form on their website. Also if you try to speak to anyone at store level via phone you first have to use an internet search to find the phone number, then you'll only be routed through a voice system and never at any point get in touch with a live person at the store.
