What a fascinating collection of salvaged doors, windows, lighting, statues, tubs, and more. Great place to find items to decorate with, repurpose, or display. Prices from a buck to over $20,000. Staff were polite and helpful. My wife purchased a cast iron column that was quite beautiful. read more

Wow. This place is a salvage wonderland. If you are looking for authentic salvage pieces for a renovation or to add character to your house, this is the place to go. However, I found the prices to be a turnoff. I saw several items that seemed to be vastly over priced. And it made me a little suspicious. For example- pulleys. I couldn't find one under $125. But I have bought several of the same quality for $40-$70 apiece. Similarly- old doors. Some of the doors marked $425 can be easily found elsewhere for $50-$100. Certainly some were worth the price but I was shocked at how many plain wood doors were marked up that high. All this being said, I don't know much about what the Columbus market will bear and they do have some truly amazing stuff here. I saw a phenomenal stained glass window- appeared to be from an old church? And glass door knobs- they had a ton of those as well as other hard to find hardware... Bottom line, I might stop here if I have my heart set in something in particular but it will have to be an investment piece... And something super special... read more

Just heard about this gem on instagram the other day and had to pay it a visit. If you haven't been, and like walking around and exploring antique stores and the like, this is the place for you. The building is unassuming from the outside, but the inside is filled with anything from ancient church doors to vintage Kotex dispensers. The whole front room is filled with hundreds (even thousands?) of doorknobs, screws, locks, hinges, etc. Bigger furniture pieces are in the maze-like warehouse that lies in the middle of the structure, and there's a salvage yard out back. We saw some truly beautiful pieces and also some unique, more crafty and modern pieces. A word of warning: this is NOT a thrift shop. Though their inventory is very old, it is in good condition and is relatively rare I'd assume, so their pricing is moderate/expensive. I did, however, purchase some glass slides for what I thought was a reasonable price. This is an awesome find in a bustling city like Columbus and I'm so glad it exists. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to people to visit, especially if they're looking for specific pieces for a project or to decorate their home. read more

Lots of stuff and we'll organized. Fairly good quality. However, prices are kind of ridiculous. Doors range from 400-800, mirrors 400, even decorative fireplace grills are in the 300+ range. Dunno if I'll be back. read more

Wide ranging variety of architectural decor, very nice items. My wife and I would have walked out with a handful of items but the pricing was too high. We have been visiting antique shops every weekend for the last couple of years so we have a pretty good idea of what the value of these types of items are. Generally speaking the items are 50% higher then the market. I would love to support this company but not at the prices they are asking. We will definitely return in a few months to see if the prices have lowered. read more

LOVE this place. Whether you're looking for small bits and pieces (doorknobs, drawer pulls, coat hooks, hinges, etc) or a giant stained-glass window (and can afford it, cos $$$), or you just want to soak in some fab salvaged items, this is a great place to be. Also? They just expanded their hours and are open Tuesday - Saturday. Woohoo! read more

I came across a write up of Columbus Architectural Salvage in the Columbus Alive and knew I had to check it out. This place serves people with a couple different interests. I can see a homeowner coming to the salvage and dropping a couple grand on a really impressive antique fireplace, or footed tub, or piece of furniture. I can also see someone popping in to pick up a really sweet doorknob or the like. Most of the small stuff is old and quality. Things you simply can't buy new. I think the third person who might shop here is the artist looking for pieces to remake into something entirely new. I was most impressed by the stock of inexpensive old windows and doors. You can pick up an interesting old window for 15 dollars. I'll be back for that if nothing else. read more

I have to limit how often I visit this place. Its a danger zone for me. I find it very difficult to go to CAS and come home empty handed. I think other reviews have covered the basics of what CAS is about, so I won't go there. But I will say that you can visit regularly, and find new items every time. There is a constant stream of fresh items. I recently purchased an old phone box. Its a heavy duty cast metal box that one would find on a factory floor. Bright yellow with red letters. So cool. We use it as a key box by our back door. We get tons of compliments. The prices are relatively expensive, but then again you're not sorting through oceans of junk at thrift stores or yard sales to find it. Its a great collection. If you're ready to stop buying cookie cutter, off the shelf items for your home, and find something unique, this is your place! read more

Do you like old things? Columbus Architectural Salvage is for you. A Weekly Yelp brought my attention to this place. I can see how this would be a great resource for anyone who is rehabbing an older home to its formal glory. They have everything, door knobs, hooks, tiles, doors, windows, bricks, bathtubs and sinks, along with many other random architecturally relevant things. Prices can be little spendy, (door knobs are 35 dollars and up) but how can you put a value on some of this one of a kind stuff. This is not what you would run across in Home Depot. It feels like their is a story behind each item that I want to learn more about. I think anyone looking for some inspiration for a Pinterest project would also enjoy getting lost among the antiques. Though I will never be rehabbing an old home. I will be back to find creative inspiration for my next creative project. read more

Wish I could walk through this place in person! I had an excellent experience shopping with them from Florida, though. We found an opening for pocket doors in our 1923 house, but the doors had presumably been sold off by a previous owner. Without many local options I took to the internet and found a set of pocket doors in the perfect width, height, style and stain on Columbus Architectural Salvage's website. I requested a shipping quote and some confirmation on measurements (got a next-day response), made the purchase and waited six or so weeks for them to arrive blanket-wrapped freight. Faster shipping options would have doubled the price - gotta expect that for architectural salvage or furniture - but they are available if needed. The doors I ordered arrived exactly as described and the entire process was pretty frictionless for getting huge doors from OH to FL. Would purchase from them again if I needed something I couldn't get locally. read more

So cool! Such a great experience. Granted, I would never purchase anything here unless I doubled my paycheck... But it's a great experience to stumble through all the rooms. Lots of entertaining artifacts. read more

If you visit-- you will buy something! Every piece in my house that anyone asks about came from here. A beautiful marble bench from the old Union Station. Old mission light fixtures. One-of-a-kind decorative and functional elements. Doors. Mantels. Furniture. Amazing. Always full of new surprises. The guys that work their are friendly and knowledgeable. Reasonable prices. No hard sell--thanks! read more

What a cool place! Why didn't I discover it earlier! So, maybe I'm a little crafty. And maybe I want to make a dining table out of a vintage door. That's how I discovered Columbus Architectural Salvage! I went to Yelp and typed in "old doors", and CAS popped right up! This is yet another example of why I love Yelp. CAS is only open on Saturdays, so I had to wait all week to check it out. But it was totally worth the wait! In addition to a plethora of old doors, CAS had a serious selection of other beautiful housewares. This place is a "re-purposer's" heaven! You can check out their website for photos of everything they have, but here's a list of all the cool things I saw: * vintage doorknobs and drawer pulls * windows * doors * signs * sinks * tubs * chairs * cabinets No matter if you're only looking for a few vintage accessories for your place, or if you're wanting to completely outfit your home, you can do it at CAS. I can't wait to go back! read more

So, being a dude who just bought a house I figured maybe we could score some house stuff here; I mean, it's all used stuff that was saved from a variety of junkyards by some enterprising folks, so it's environmentally friendly and cheap right? Half-right dude. The prices at this place are astronomical. One drawer pull for $9?!? Seriously, I thought I had gone back to buying housewares on Manhattan. I can't imagine how this place sells enough stuff at these prices to stay in business, although I suppose their profit margins are so massive that if they sell two tables and a lamp then they can make their rent. It's a cool place to look around and get design ideas, but if I can't buy anything then how useful is it? Sweet for you if you can afford to buy things here. read more

i pretty much walked through the store with my mouth hanging open. everything was so beautiful and unique...i could've spent the entire day there. some things had a hefty price tag, but how do you put a price on vintage? read more

Terrific collection of architectural items. Prices vary but pretty reasonable considering many of these objects are no longer commonly available. Everything is very neatly displayed and organized. Large outdoor space in addition to the many interior rooms to explore. I'm from out of town and only wish I had something comparable where I live! read more

I want this place to be marvelous, but it just isn't. I've been back several times, hoping to find a treasure, but it's all hugely overpriced, and most of the things I saw there a year ago are still there. read more

I am slowly restoring my old Victorian Home and this place is a must. I have found so many treasures. I don't know what I would do without this place. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I have never seen such an organized salvage store. Everything is clearly labeled and marked. (doors have dimensions) You're sure to find what ever you are looking for. read more

This place does in fact have very unique and interesting pieces. Whether you are looking to replace something in your older home or make your own neat project (coffee table out of an old door)- this place has it--at a VERY steep price! I've been shopping here for 3+ years, mostly out of curiosity, and have picked up some smaller items along the way (book ends, vintage glass bottles, replacement glass door knobs etc.) I never minded paying a little more to help out a local place until today. I went in hoping to replace an vent grate in my home that was the wrong dimensions. I never minded before, but just had my first child and could see the extra few inches on either side becoming a problem for little hands and feet. The size I had was priced at $45 and the size I need at $65. I asked if we could do some sort of trade, understanding that they are there for a profit. The guy offered me $5 for my grate and a WHOLE lot of attitude. I asked if he could give me a little more since I could see the price on the EXACT same grate was $45. He responded "You can't just bargain with us. Would you bargain with Target?!" He also added some complimentary head bobbing. Completely rude. I was going to purchase the grate regardless for the safety of my daughter, but after experiencing this man's attitude and coming to the realization that they mark their items up A LOT I decided on a whim that I would no longer be a customer of theirs. It's a shame. I really liked that place despite their outrageous price tags. read more

I had 10 beautiful old single panel doors I salvaged from a relative's house in NE Ohio. With no nibbles on Craigslist, I contacted Chris at CAS in 2008, shortly after CAS opened. His love for architectural stuff was very apparent. He took the ten doors and related hardware on consignment. Six years later, and I AM STILL GETTING CHECKS FROM CAS EVERY TIME ONE OF MY DOORS OR HARDWARE PIECES IS SOLD. CAS has incredible inventory control, recordkeeping, and most of all absolute honesty. These are good people. read more

online items are over priced. for example a reclaimed birdhouse $68!
